Suddenly, her feet were free. They were still torn and bleeding and freezing, but they were free. Her sharp eyes fell upon Bobby as he rounded the corner and with her being able to move freely once more, she was tempted to close the distance between them and slap him across the face. She didn't. Instead, she scowled darkly at him before looking over her shoulder to examine her bare soles. They most definately could have been worse, but that didn't mean they weren't bad.
when he said Rogue's name, she looked at the other girl and she was even more confused when he said that he knew Remy as well. Was she really the only person who didn't know who everyone else was? She couldn't deny that that did make her feel slightly awkward, but she wasn't shy when he asked who she was.
"Sookie is the new face. And do the world a huge favor and next time you think it's a brilliant idea to freeze the ground, remember that not all of us are wearing shoes."
She left out the bit about her feet bleeding. There was no use in complaining about that and drawing attention to herself.

"Sorry, let me take care of that."
Bobby reached into a small bag at his side, which he carried where ever he went, and pulled out a small med kit. He walked over and knelt down, lifting up one of her feet to give it a look over. He'd seen enough fights in his life to not be affected by , but he had to admit it looked pretty bad. He took out some disinfectant wipes and dressed the wounds before wrapping it in gauze.
"Well not everybody walks around barefoot, especially in the middle of winter and in the sewers. What are you guys doing down here anyway?"
"It was Cain." Remy answered.
Bobby stopped and looked at Remy before continuing. Remy explained everything, from when he saw Sookie playing her guitar on the street, to the run in with a giant stone Cain, to finally meeting Rogue down in the sewers. Bobby was done with Sookie's feet, both wrapped tightly in gauze and holding off the bleeding.
"That would explain the glow I heard about." Bobby said standing up, "I heard some people talking about a strange glow coming from the sewers near westchester and decided to check it out."
"Guilty." Remy said with a sheepish smile, waiting for Sookie to give the usual "told you so" look.

She glared at him, even as he went to examine her foot. She didn't ask for his help. All she had said was that he should think twice before freezing a person's feet. After all, without feet everyone would be running around with stubs at the end of their legs. As he went to bandage her soles, she yanked the one in his hand away from him, the pressure upon the bloody wound not seeming to phase her in the slightest. Her feet had been through hell and back. This was nothing.
"I never asked you to help me."
Rogue rolled her eyes and clenched her gloved hands into fists.
"Bobby didn't do nothin' to ya so why don't you be nice for once in your life!"
This sparked Sookie's interest. "Oh...so this is Bobby." She laughed aloud and almost doubled over. "Sweetheart, I think your girlfriend needs some help in your department. How long has it been since you two got it on? She obviously isn't getting any. Are you just not confident with yourself in that area."
"That's it!" Rogue yanked her gloves off and started to advance in Sookie's direcion, ready and willing to attack.

Bobby was more then a little offended when she scolded him for trying to help, his cheeks reddening when she talked to him about Rogue. He looked to Rogue as she defended him, knowing well enough the temper that was forming in his friend. When Rogue finally snapped and stormed towards Sookie, he rushed to get between the two.
"Rogue please calm down. We shouldn't fight especially down here."
Just as Bobby moved between the two s, Remy immediately wrapped his arms around Rogues waist, thankful his shirt had long sleeves since his coat was now placed around Sookie. He heard the sewers were dangerous, but this was just making things downright crazy to be around.
"Calm down, Rogue. Ain't no use fussin in the sewers." Remy said, trying to control the infuriated mutant.
Bobby didn't want a fight down here, especially after he finally found one of the mutants that had vanished from the mansion.
"Rogue please, we have to get back to the mansion. Tim, Ian and David are missing and..." he stopped, his voice softening at the painful news, "and Cain's attacked the mansion again. Professor's in the infirmary and he doesn't look too good."

Sookie was annoyed but not surprised when Rogue advanced to attack her. She was however surprised that Remy was stopping her. Sookie rolled her eyes.
"If you can't take it then don't dish it out."
Sookie was of course implying to when Rogue had called her a bitch before they had even properly met. It was merely a game.
This furthered Rogue's anger and she kicked and the air wildly, hoping to break free of Remy's grasp. "You don't know me! At least you can touch people! You want to know why I don't like being close to people? If I touch them too long then they die! What's you're pathetic excuse?"
This got to Sookie.
"You think you've got it bad? I'll trade you any day of the week! My entire family had no problems with me being different. They accepted and loved me even though I'm a freak of nature! My oldest brother saw me as a 'demon of satan' and since my family still loves me they were demons too! I woke up in the middle of the night to find him slitting my little sister's throat! My big brother. Everyone I ever loved is dead and I saw them die with my own eyes. You wanna trade?"
Sookie breathed heavily as Rogue stared back at her, wide eyes and jaw slackly hanging open. She looked from Remy to Bobby to Rogue and back again, slowly backing away. She almost slid into the water she she glanced back and swallowed a lump in her throat. Almost reflexivly, she shifted into a wolf, shook the coat off and leapt across the small current before breaking into a run.

Remy had a harder time holding onto Rogue as she thrashed around while her and Sookie exchanged words. When she talked about trading her life with Rogue and explaining about her brother, you could've heard a pin drop. Bobby looked back at Sookie in shock, Remy's arms loosened around Rogue as he stood in disbelief. They knew that some humans d mutants, but to them to the point they'd kill their own family.
"Sookie..." Remy started as Sookie backed up, changed and took off down the tunnel, "Sookie wait!"
Remy immediately took off after Sookie, leaving Rogue and Bobby alone, nothing to keep them company but the sounds of dripping pipes and running sewer water. He stood there looking at Rogue in silence, not knowing what to say or do. He had so many questions for her but couldn't think of a place to start. Where had she been? Why did she run away? Everything that's happened had caused Bobby to worry, but mostly about Rogue.
"So...welcome back." that's all he could say, until he quickly closed the gap between the two, wrapped his arms around her and kissed her. After a few moments, he broke the kiss slowly, "I've missed you, Rogue."

Sookie could hear Remy chase after her and yell after her as if she'd stop and collapse into his arms. Part of her wanted to. Part of her needed to be embraced. To have her hair stroked as she burried her head into a comforting shoulder as a voice repeated to her that it was ok and that everything would work itself out in the end. She wanted to just stop and cry, but she didn't. She found her way back to the fork in the tunnel and without even thinking which direction would be best suited for her, she headed to the left, running faster than she ever had in her wolf form before. How could she face him? He body was covered in scars that were still bleeding. She was broken, like a toy strewn across a spiked floor, beyond repair. Who would wait her anyway?
Remy's calls to her echoed down the tunnel and she stopped, concealed by shadows. She paused long enough to contemplate what might happen if she ran back, but she stopped herself and pressed forward, knowing that she'd find a place to safely exit the sewar on her own.

Still slightly in shock, Rogue gazed after Sookie as she ran away, and then after Remy as he ran after her. Of course that would explain why she would be afraid to get close to someone. She didn't want to be hurt again. She and Rogue had the exact opposite problem. At least Rogue still had her family. Granted, those who were still accepting of her didn't know what she was, but she had the feeling that if she witnessed the brutal and merciless murder of her loved ones by the hand of another loved one. She imagined that that would send her a little bit off the deep end as well.
"I had no idea." she mumbled to herself. "Oh I feel terrible."
She reminded herself that there was no way she could have known, but she still felt extremely guilty. Then...Bobby kissed her. With no gloves on, she was exceptionally cautious and she pulled away long before he did.
"I don't wanna hurt you, Bobby. I don't even wanna have a chance to hurt you." She looked down and away from him, biting down hard on her lip. "I can only give you half of what you deserve. You shouldn't have to settle for less because I have a problem."

Remy continued after Sookie, but she was too fast for him. He reached the fork that lead him towards Westchester. He didn't know what direction she took, so he turned and headed down the right, not knowing that she was heading in the other direction, continuing to call out for her. Bobby stood in shock as Rogue spoke, looking in the direction of where the two took off.
"You didn't know Rogue, I'm sure it's not something people would want to talk about."
When she backed away from him, he felt a little hurt. She was gone for so long and now that she was back she was keeping her distance? He didn't know why she was being so distant even after all they had been through together. Didn't she know he didn't care about her powers or what they could or couldn't do with each other?
"I don't care about that, Rogue, I didn't fall in love with you just because of you. I don't you and I don't your powers."
He stood there then, waiting for an answer from him. He didn't know what she was talking about or what she was planning.

Rogue glanced up at him with sad eyes. She didn't know what she wanted. She didn't know why everyone else could learn to control their powers but she couldn't. She wanted to scream at the top of her lungs that it simply wasn't fair and why should she have to endure this hell, but she didn't. She never did. Rogue tried to make the best of her ability, but it was becoming more difficult.
"Why do ya have to say that?"
She bit her lip and drew in a long take of air before continuing.
"Bobby, I love you, I really do, but you deserve better than..." She paused, thinking of the proper word. "this!" she motioned at her body as she exclaimed the final word of her sentance. "I'm worse than a loose cannon! At least a cannon can get tamed and put under control, but I can't control myself. I want to, but I'm just...I dunno, I guess maybe I'm not strong enough or somethin'. I'm like a leech and I hate it!"
This was the first time she had ever exploded about hating her power. Almost everyone knew that she did, but she had never vocalized it until now.

"I say it because it's true."
He felt a little sad for her as she talked about her hatred for her powers. He knew she didn't like the way she was, but he never knew she felt this way about it. When she was finished he pulled her against him, his hands wrapping around her waist as he looked into her eyes. He really did love her, and that's all that mattered to him.
"I don't care if I deserve better, Rogue. I don't want better, I want you."
He reached up and touched a bit of her hair before moving in to kiss her once more. He continued to kiss her even as he felt the draining of energy begin. He broke it soon though, making it look like he was just taking a breath. He looked to her and smiled a sad but loving smile to her.
"Come on, let's go home ok? People are on edge at that place and I need someone to help keep my sanity in check."
He laughed a little at his own joke, hoping he would get a smile out of her at least. He knew she was upset, but that didn't matter to him.
