"Good, because there's no way I'm letting you go alone," she replied, looking back at the ocean again.
She closed her eyes out of habit when he touched her so she could see his visions clearer, and then looked back at him when he thanked her.
"You don't have to thank me. I didn't really do anything."

"I wouldn't have it any other way either."
He watched as she closed her eyes, knowing she was probly seeing what was going on inside. He didn't mind, something about sharing his emotions with her seemed alright with him.
"Well first off if it wasn't for you I'd be going after Cain right now. Second...I have great company at the beach this time"

She turned and smiled at him, "I didn't make you change your mind about going after Cain," she admitted. "I just told you to talk about it. Talking always works, and I happen to be a good listener."
She looked back at the ocean again and thought a moment at the second part he'd said. She'd never gone to the beach with anyone before either, and agreed that his company was better than being alone. "It's nice not to be alone tonight. I've never walked on the beach when I wasn't alone before..."

"Still, I wouldn't have talked to anybody, but you helped me open up about it."
He sat there staring out over the water, enjoying the stars and the sound of the waves. He looked down at the sand, grabbing a handful and letting it drift through his fingers. He absently watched it, then looked to her. He looked to her as she said she had mostly walked alone, he looked down at her hand, taking it in his. He then looked up at her and smiled.
"One thing I've learned from you, is you should never walk alone...anywhere."

Anya nodded when he spoke about her getting him to open up, "I guess so."
She also watched his hand as he let the sand drift through his fingers. She looked up into his eyes when he took her hand again, ignoring the visions that wanted to rush through her mind from his touch.
Then she nodded again and she spoke very softly, almost in a whisper, but still managed a small smile, "I never understand why some people would want to be alone..."

"Trust me, you know me better then you think."
He winked at her and smiled, partly meaning it as the truth and partly joking towards her powers. His smile softened a bit when he heard her speak, taking her hand and squeezing it gently as he did. He couldn't understand why he was feeling the way he was. It was a strange, yet warm feeling you would get when the sun hit you, or when you smelled your first flower.
"I don't know. I wouldn't want to be alone, that's for sure."

She smirked slightly at his half-joke. "I probably know you better than you do," she rolled her eyes slightly, even though that wasn't entirely untrue. She knew everyone she touched pretty well. For those that she touched who were confused about who they were, though, she probably really did know them better than themselves.
She looked back at the stars when he squeezed her hand, and figured there was no point in ignoring the visions anymore. He obviously wasn't letting go anytime soon, and she couldn't ignore the visions forever. She glanced at him a moment as she got a glimpse of what he was feeling. Emotions wasn't her specialty, and she rarely sensed them through her visions. But she could tell that he didn't know what he was feeling, and neither did she. She didn't know what to think of it, either.
When he said he couldn't want to be alone, she looked at him again. She tried to read his expression to figure out what her visions of emotions from him were, but it was too difficult from the nighttime darkness. "Me either."

He chuckled when she said she knew him better then himself. He knew it was true, but didn't want to say anything. When she looked at him again, he began to feel a little odd that they were holding hands. He wasn't even sure that she wanted him to, so he smile as he let to of her hand and propped his knees up to his chest, putting his arms around him.
The silence really was comforting, and the way the oceans moved on the water and the beach was soothing. He looked up at the stars and, not even know he was doing it, began to rock back and forth slowly, humming a soft lullaby that his parents use to sing to him and his sister when he was young. It made him smile as he began to remember them.

She hadn't minded him holding her hand, but she didn't really mind anything when it came to touch. The silence was comforting to her too, but she immediately looked to him when she heard something. Was he humming? She raised her eyebrows. "What are you humming?"
That was not something any of her friends, her guy friends anyway, usually did. She wouldn't pick on him about it, of course, because she was sure whatever he was humming must've meant something important to him. She used to hum all the time and it would bug everybody, and thinking of that made her smile widen. At one point she only hummed to bother people, and for no other reason.

He continued to hum, almost to the end of the lullaby when Anya asked her question. He sat there in silence as he continued to think of his childhood. He enjoyed how much he spent with his family, working on the farm and delivering goods to the town. Everybody called him "Little Davey" when he was a kid, and even now he got a kick out of it. He looked to Anya, those memories showing in his eyes.
"It's a lullaby my mom use to sing to me and Megs when we were kids. I can't remember the words, but the tune I always remember. I remember it because her voice was so soft and gentle, it would put us to sleep even during thunderstorms."

Anya could see the glimpses of his memories just from looking into his eyes. She knew the little tune had to be something significant like that. "That's sweet," she replied to both the "Little Davey" she saw through his eyes and what he said about the lullaby. "I wish my childhood had been more exciting," she admitted.
She never really had a chance for a childhood because the moment her parents found out about her powers, she was sent to the institute. She hadn't seen her parents since. Her lips formed at flat line for a moment when she thought about that. She hadn't even heard from them in years. She hoped everything was okay. But soon her smile returned and she was back to thinking about Little Davey and the lullaby.

"Really? What was your childhood like?"
He smiled and nodded when she said that the story behind the lullaby was sweet. If only she had known his parents, he would have loved to introduce them to her. Megs would most likely pick on him about having a friend, like she did when they were in school. He did have one, but after the of his parents, she didn't want anything to do with him. He had heard people talking about their towards mutants, but he knew there were some people out there who looked to mutants the same way they look to themselves. His parents were two of them, and Megan was another.

"Boring. I don't really remember much of it. That was back before I could control my powers, so everything I touched almost made me pass out," she admitted. "And as soon as my parents found out, I was immediately sent here. Even then it took a while before I could control the amount of visions I see. Mostly all my memories have been covered up by those visions."
She sighed, still thoughtful about what her parents might be doing right now. They were probably just at home, sitting around doing nothing in particular. That's all she could remember them doing as a child when they weren't at work.

"You mean...you've never had fun as a child?"
He couldn't stop the surprised look on his face. He couldn't believe it, she was so carefree, at least from what he believed, and yet she didn't have the kind of childhood that most kids had or would want. He looked towards the ocean for a bit, wondering how he would be able to help with that. It was then a smile came on his face and he stood up, taking off his shoes and socks, and holding his hand out to her.
"Come on, I have an idea."
