*Shakaku was in the danger room, like he usually was now. Freya and him used up quite a bit of time, at least four days a week. It had been about three hours in the training. Freya was working him hard, as usual but he was building up his strength. The long hours didn't bother him anymore, it was the random surprises that Freya threw at him were the things that would probably one of these days kill him. Mastery of his powers were going great and he actually looked forward to it. But he would never tell Freya that, or anyone else. She would make it worse if she found out. Now when Freya told him to take a short break for water he would shake his head.*
I can go a few more times. I can drink later.
*They would run through it a few more times, then he would take a break. They would also take breaks to talk, witch hadn't happened for a while. The training was helping and he wasn't a ticking time bomb anymore. Things felt pretty balanced now. Even if he felt something strange towards Gisli he could ignore that for now. He didn't want to ruin anything by saying something, he almost ruined their friends ship earlyer.*

Gisli knew something was up with Shakaku. Before vacation began, they'd had some tense moments, in one event she'd stormed off, furious at him. But now? They finally seemed to pass. Since that last 'somewhat' fight, there hadn't been any other, and the two were finally able to return to normal. Still, that didn't mean she was blind. After they'd mended their friendship after that first Training session with Freya of his, she'd noticed weird looks. They weren't often, and he always looked away when he saw her looking, but she still noticed them. And yesterday she'd seen that same look...
She put the thoughts aside, ignoring them and that odd fluttering in her stomach. Determined to clear her mind, she decided to go for a walk. It was still cold outside, with snow on the ground and harsh winds. Bundled up she headed outside... And found there were more people out here then she wanted. Sighing, she wandered down one of the overgrown trails. There were so many leading off to who knows where. This particular one though led to that old Boathouse that hadn't been used in years.
The weather had taken a toll on the crumbling building, battering it so much that it didn't even look safe to enter! Stupid Gisli though, wanting to get out of the wind, decided that the chance of it collapsing on her was slim to none...

Shakaku was a faster learner, especially for someone as short tempered and stubborn as him. Thankfully he'd learned pretty quick that all his temper tantrums did was make her beat on him harder. And everytime he'd tried to attack her for it, she'd just turned his own power against him.
Freya rarely had to beat on him extra now a days though. There were a few, rare occasions, but other then that... Well, he was learning to manage that temper of his. She'd also helped him come to terms with other emotions that might affect his power... Except for one in particular. He had always flat out refused to discuss his love life with her. Sure, she knew there was a girl in his life, but whether this was just a friend, or someone more was a complete mystery.
They were nearing the end of today's session, with Shakaku refusing to take a break. She just sighed. He could be stubborn like this sometimes, but she wouldn't force him to stop if he didn't want to. She hadn't pulled any unexpected stunts on him today, so he wasn't nearly as exhausted as he usually was, Freya on the other hand hadn't even worked up a sweat. "If you say so." She just shrugged now, bringing her flames back into existence, moving to continue the exercise when the doors of the Danger Room hissed open.
One of the X-men, or, newly appointed X-men, he couldn't be much older then Shakaku, came at a run, panting. "Hazel, told me. To tell Shakaku. To come to the Infirmary. Because his friend Gisli. Was in an accident." He could barely even speak in proper sentences as he tried to catch his breath.
Freya just nodded, waving a hand as if to dismiss him. "We've got the message. You can go now." Her gaze focused on Shakaku right now, watching him... Waiting for whatever reaction he might have, and ready to stop him if he tried to go running off.

*Shakaku was working as hard as he could, there were now random fire balls or anything so he wanted to keep going. He was almost shocked when the doors hissed opened. Most people didn't dare get near the danger room with the dragon lady from Hell teaching the fiery tempered bully. He looked and when the message was given thoughts ran thought his head. Is she alright? What kind of accident? Is she in the infermary? What happened? Was he about to lose her?*
*The room got unbarably hot, for any non fire user. The messenger, gasping for air, quickly backed from the danger room, the door hissing closed behind him, it took a little bit for him to cool down enough to go back to what he was doing. Shakaku pulled out his phone, pushed seed dial number two and put it to his ear. Stupid voice mail. If that wasn't the only phone he had, and was gonna get, he would melt it right on the spot. Hanging up and didn't know what to do. There was only one thing to do...In and instant he started to run towards the exit. No one would stop him. He had to see Gisli, she had to be alright.*

Nothing had happened for a few moments, then suddenly, the temperature skyrocketed. So quickly that even Freya looked surprised! Well he hadn't done that in a while! And before it'd only happened when he'd been unusually pissed at her!
With a sigh she forced the temperature back down right as he was reaching into his pocket and dialing a number and pressing it to his ear. A few seconds later, he looked as if he just might break something. If she didn't know any better, he actually looked worried!
And there he went, running towards the door as fast as possible, as if someone might die if he didn't get there as fast as he could. Sighing, Freya rolled her eyes. Her own flames leaped into existence, right between him and the door. If they'd been normal flames he probably would have just run through them, but one of the first things she'd taught Shakaku was to never go through flames hotter then you can control, and these were far above his current level. "What's your hurry?"
She couldn't help it. She was curious. To get this kind of reaction from Shakaku must mean that he was close to the girl, but how close?

*Shakaku skidded to a stop when he saw the flames. Turning violently back to face Freya. He had to go see her, but he knew his limits.*
You herd what he said! She was in an accident!
*This was no time to talk. Gisli was hurt. He needed to know what was wrong. But this stupid which wouldn't let him go. He knew that he couldn't use his powers against her, she would just end up turning them back on him. Shakaku reverted to yelling in Japanese. It was fast and volgur. As he yelled the temperature skyrocketed again. Freya wasn't going to keep him from Gisli. He would jump thought the flames if he had to, but he wanted to try to not get injured.*
Let me leave...NOW!
*He was demanding, she couldn't hold him in hear, no matter how much greater her power was. Why wasn't she letting him leave anyway. Sometimes she was the one forcing him to leave, because she was board or tired or training him for the day. If she was curious they could talk later, as in not now, when Gisli was hurt!*

Yelling at Freya in a language she didn't speak did absolutely no good. All it did was make her scowl at him. She understood why he was in such a panic though, and growing angry with her. But he didn't realize one rather important thing. It was unlikely his mood would improve when he got to the Infirmary. And no one would be capable of stopping his out of control powers.
She just waited until he was done yelling and cursing in Japanese, arms propped on her hips. "Are you done yelling at me yet, or should I wait some more?" There he went again, only this time he was yelling in English. Well... That was an improvement... Sort of.
Sighing, Freya crossed the room. Approaching Shakaku she gave him a mighty shove into the wall, her flames vanishing, but pressing a hand against his chest, as if to make sure he didn't go running off. Staring intently at him for a few moments, Freya fixed him with that stern look he'd become so familiar with.
"What were you planning on doing, huh? Charge up there in this mad panic? With your power completely out of control?" She wasn't yelling, but her voice was dangerously quiet, yet another sign that he'd be familiar with. When she used this tone it meant he had to pay attention, not for his own sake, but for everyone else's as well. "Did you even think about what could happen if you leave in this current state? Hmm?" She pressed her hand against his chest a little harder, as if to force a response out of him that was more then 'I don't know'.

*Shakaku finally finished yelling and was taking a few deep breaths as he was shoved against the wall. He listened to Freya, but he was all tense. It would have been disaster if he left, but he still wanted to go and see Gisli. Realizing that the only way that Freya would ever let him go would be to calm down. His muscles loosened up as he took a deep breath followed by a sigh.*
No I didn't. Sorry, it's just...
*Just...just what? What could he say when he didn't even know what it was. To be honest with himself, he didn't even think he would ever be calm enough to actually figure out what was happening. Maybe it would be best to just go and try to clam down in his room. If he went and something bad had happened to her, then all Hell might break loose, rather Shakaku meant for it to or not.*
What should I do?
*He looked down to the floor, he didn't dare make eye contact with her now. He was a freakin' mess. Why did Gisli have this affect on him? Was it just because she was a good friend of his...one of two, three if you counted Furai.*

Freya had to thank God everyday that she'd beaten Shakaku enough that he would listen to her. At first, he hadn't been nearly this cooperative. Slowly but surely she was getting to this teenager. As he tried to relax, she removed her hand from his chest, taking a small step back, but staying close enough that she could repeat the whole thing if he tried to bolt.
"You have to always be on your guard, Shakaku. You must always be careful, otherwise this sort of thing will happen." Still, what had caused him to go into this mad panic? How dear was this girl to him? Freya knew that if one of her close friends was injured, she'd be worried, but she wouldn't be in such a panic that she lost control of everything! If Rory were hurt though... Well, she'd had to reteach herself not to do exactly what he'd just done a long time ago.
"It's normal to be worried, even scared. But the way you are acting..." She recognized this emotion. This was no ordinary panic. It was almost like he was sure he would lose her if he wasn't by her side. He cared for her, more then even he knew... "You like her, don't you? And more then just the friends sort of like." She was smirking a little.

*Once the pressure was off his chest he slid down the wall. He knew that if he was sitting, it would be harder to escape from Freya. He wasn't sure if he would be able to hold himself back. What was wrong with him. He was left to think about it while listening to Freya, until she almost just answered his question for him.*
I'm not sure. I'm...happy when she's around, and I think she's pretty, but she's just a really good friend.
*That was it! Just friends! There was nothing going on between them. Even if it was strange that they were friends, he still felt like things would end if she were gone. He didn't want to tell her this earlier, but she was one of the reasons he came back to the school this year, even after he was eight teen.*
It's nothing more than Friendship *He promised himself, and Freya was wrong, he didn't like her in that way.....or did he? There was really no way to tell, he didn't feel close to anyone like that, ever before. But Gisli was sweet, kind, innocent, able to stop him from beating up a kid, witch was rare.*

Freya just crouched when he slid to the ground, if only to stay at his level, waiting for whatever response he came up with. He sounded so confused, but at the same time as if trying to convince himself she was wrong. Well, that was teenage boys for you. They couldn't recognize love if it was standing right in front of them!
"Do you remember what I told you that first day? When Professor Xavier forced us together?" She tilted her head a little, waiting only a moment. "How your emotions will govern you and your power until you learn to control each reaction?" Those weren't her exact words. She'd mentioned specific emotions that made you lose control, like anger, which came easily to him, fear, not so easily, and the most unlikely, passion. In this case it seemed it was a combination of the last two. Someone he cared about was hurt. He was terrified he might lose that. "Well, this most definitely isn't a reaction you've mastered. So why don't you put that little head of yours to work and try to figure out just what it is you're feeling before discarding what you think is the least likely culprit."
"You know, you were a bad liar before, and you are still a bad liar. You aren't even convinced yourself about what you feel. Perhaps you should just stop looking for stupid excuses and just listen." Not to her, of course. Not on this subject. She couldn't tell him whom he loved or didn't love. Only he could decide that. But to do that he had to stop expecting everything to come out a certain way and wait for the real answer to come.

*Shakaku let out a big sigh. It was true. he was a bad liar, and he does like Gisli...in that way. Taking deep breaths he got a hold of his power again. But he was sure that he wouldn't be able to go and see Gisli. Sad as it was, he didn't want to hurt her any more than she already was. He was also afraid that their friendship would be ruined by his feelings. But now that he had admitted that he liked Gisli, he felt more control of his powers. He slowly stood up again.*
I think I'm ready to go. But I'm not sure if I should go and see Gisli... *He hated to say it, but he had to keep his powers in check. He, in a small way, wanted to ask Freya to go and check on her, but that wouldn't work. Plus Freya probably wouldn't do it. Focusing on the temperature he raised it one degree and kept it there for a few minutes, this was kind of a test for his emotions. At this point he had pretty good control over his power. Maybe Kaitou could do it...no that would involve telling him... What was Shakaku going to do about Gisli?*

It seemed like they were making progress... Up until he announced not being sure if he should get to see his friend or not. Slowly, she rolled back to her feet, only to jab him in the chest again with two fingers. "What's that you said?" She was scowling now. "You're not getting out of this that easily." She poked him again, harder then necessary.
"You are going to go up there and make sure she is alright." Her voice was stern again. "And I am going to make sure you, even if I have to drag you up there myself!" Oh, she was serious too. It wouldn't surprise anyone if she did end up dragging all the way to the infirmary, throwing him in there, and then locking the doors so he couldn't get out! Both her eyebrows raised then as she fixed him with a questioning look. "Now, will you go up on your own, or must I take you and probably ruin the image you've worked up around here?"
It wasn't 'exactly' a threat, but he knew she was serious. If she did end up having to force him to go, any students that saw... Well that bully image of his would be down the drain. No way would he be able to repair it after the students knew he was being dragged around like a disobedient pup, especially by a woman.

*Shakaku let out, yet another sigh. Some how....Just some how he new that was coming.*
Fine I'll go. *But he wasn't going to stay for long. He never did. The infurmrey was filled with kids, that he probably hurt himself. But he knew that he had to face this. He didn't want to, but that was why Freya was here...right. To make him face his fears. He had to learn to control this. If he didn't, then what was he going to do when he got intimately close with someone? Back away and say "sorry I can't do this". No! He was going to learn to control his power no matter what happened in life. True there will still be those times when it's hard and he has to let loose, but he had to control those too.*
Are you going to let me leave now? *He knew how unpredictable Freya was. He learned to ask questions and to listen to ever word she said. Those two things might just keep him breathing, and well enough for a second training session. He chose not to move until he got Freya's approval, then he was do as directed.*

Freya was smirking at how obedient he was being. For some reason it never ceased to amaze her. "Good boy." At least she wouldn't have to drag him now. With all the muscle he'd put on it would be much harder to do then it would have been early on. But that was how they trained Elephants to not fight their easily breakable ties. When they were young, they wouldn't have been able to break free, and as they grew older they stopped fighting it, believing they wouldn't be able to break the rope.
She moved her fingers from his chest, wrapped them around the back of his neck, and shoved him towards the door. "Get moving before I change my mind. And you had better go, if I find out you didn't you'll be in big trouble." She meant it to, never hesitating when it came to her threads.
A small smile touched her lips as she folded her arms lightly across her chest. "I'm sure your friend would like some company, so don't dawdle." From here, things would get very interesting. Shakaku trusted her enough to tell her about most problems in his life, probably just because she'd forced him to, but this time he had to stand on his own two feet, with out her there to help him figure it out...
