Rose didn't hear, nor see Ian move around to the branch behind her, so of course she was slightly startled when he was suddenly there, though she was used to him surprising her. Of course when she cheeks grew hotter, she was even more startled. Was she... blushing?! Why was she blushing?! As it seemed, she'd lost all her 'moody' thoughts by this point, that is until he spoke again. "How could you want this...? Do you know how hard it is, knowing that because of things I've done, I've gotten so many people killed... If you got hurt....." How would she be able to live with herself if Ian got hurt?! After all he'd done for her, she repaid him by putting his life in danger? How could he want to be around her, knowing that? And yet here he was, always there....

He smiled and squeezed her gently in his arms, party because of her concern for him, and partly because of how red her cheeks were. He kissed her cheek gently, knowing that his feelings for her ranked higher than that of a friend. He cared deeply for her and knew that she worried about him.
"Thanks for caring Rose, but that's all part of being your protector, you know. There's a chance I can get hurt. Besides, if being a mutant doesn't give me chances to get hurt, I don't know what does."
He chuckled at that part a little.

Of course Ian had to notice her blush, and just had to kiss her on the cheek to make her blush even more. Why was it that she was feeling like this now?! She'd had no problem with him holding her before, so why now? Perhaps her getting older was a contributor. After all, she would have laughed at you if you mentioned boys in more then a friend relationship when she met Ian. But now... She felt like groaning. Growing up was so confusing.
"Well, I guess we'll have to protect each other then, since neither of us will let the other get hurt." Her mood seemed to brighten a little, partly because of his making her blush so much. She laughed softly at his second comment. "I guess so. The life of a mutant is never dull."

He could tell she was having trouble with the situation, so he smiled and gave her a gentle squeeze. He liked the idea of them protecting each other, and he couldn't help but laugh when she mentioned about mutant life. He had to admit that he never had a dull moment since he first became one.
"Yeah, especially here."

Rose almost nodded in agreement, of course it was then she remembered where his head was, and she quickly stopped herself. She was doing her best to ignore her blushing and them being so close, distracting herself with the topic they were on. She paused to think for a few moments. "And especially because a lot of the students have no idea what they are doing, and cause quite a ruckus. No wonder we have two infirmaries." And they did. One down by the Danger Room, and one on the ground floor.

He smiled at what she said and couldn't help but laugh. When she mentioned that there were two infirmaries, he smiled and laughed at that, knowing that was one of the first few places he had seen her in. He was glad that he had his speed to dodge all of those orbs she was shattering.
"speaking of which, did you hear we got a new doctor in?"

Rose blinked when he mentioned a new doctor, a puzzled expression crossing her face. "A new doctor?" She fixed him with questioning look out of the corner of her eye. Obviously she hadn't heard a thing about a new doctor coming. "Who is it?" She paused momentarily. "Wait, when did we get a new doctor? And how come this is the first time I've heard of this....?" It was no wonder she didn't know anything though, as she didn't associate to much with the other students, so how could she have heard about it?

"Yeah, he came in yesterday and started helping out in the lower infirmary. He's been looking for the professor to make his move official. The X-Men know him, at least Storm, James and Logan do."
He thought about the man, at least that's what the new member resembled, who had entered. Everybody seemed cheerful after talking to him. He looked to Rose and smiled, still not being able to take his eyes off of her.
"Rose...I'm gonna help you with your powers"

"Hm...." She paused for a moment, thinking of who this new 'doctor' was. "Maybe he's a returning member of the X-men. That would explain why they already know him..." Or he was some really well known mutant... But she couldn't think of who it could possibly be if he hadn't originally been part of the X-men. When Ian suddenly said he'd help with her powers, she stared at him with a very shocked expression.
"Where did that come from?" She paused, wondering why he was suddenly saying something like that. After a moment or two, she sighed. "If you really want to.... But I'm not sure how you would be able to...." Of course she could think of one or two ways, but she doubted he'd be able to do it after saying he would protect her.

"Well, if you're up for it, we can go and see who it is. Who knows, he may be a really great guy."
He couldn't help but laugh a little when she got the shocked expression on her face. When she looked away, his smile faded a little. He hoped he didn't offend her by anything he said. He began to gently swing his legs back and forth as the conversation continued.
"I'm serious. Who knows, we can help each other out with our powers. I need to work on mine anyway, I think I'm getting rusty."

Rose smiled slightly. "Maybe later. It's to nice of a day to spend it indoors." Though there were other reasons, Rose didn't voice them, quickly changing her thoughts to something else before she started to blush again. She blinked when he looked away, his expression shifting slightly. Finally though, a determined, but lively smile touched her lips. "Alright then. But that means you have to follow my rules." Meaning she was going to put him through an easier version of the Nightshade training.
"With our luck, it's a pretty good idea. Who knows what we'll run into, and it'd be rather bad if either of us were rusty." She paused, already thinking up what sorts of exercises the two could do to better control and grow their powers. Of course, Rose needed to work on her stamina, as she exerted far to much energy when using her power.

"Yeah it is. I love days like this. New York summers are a lot more easy to deal with than any other season. Maybe when weather comes I'll take us on a trip to Hawaii or something."
He chuckled, knowing he could get them there within minutes instead of hours by flight. He wouldn't mind taking her somewhere nice instead of just hanging around the mansion all day. Maybe even take her to that island he went to when he needed some time to think.
"Sounds like fun, I'm ready when you are. I got a few ideas of my own"

Rose laughed at his words, shaking her head slightly. "Maybe. Though what's winter with out snow?" Obviously summer had to be warm, and winter had to be cold in her mind, though she wouldn't mind a very short trip somewhere warm in winter, but it would have to be short.
She blinked when he aid he was ready when she was, raising an eyebrow. "And what sort of ideas are that? Should I be worried?" Of course, she was just joking. Seeing as she'd gone through 'do or die' training, what ever he came up with wouldn't be as bad.

"Yeah I don't mind winter, it's the cold and ice that comes with it that I can't stand."
He thought about the places they could go to get away from things, whether it's the Nightmares, the mansion, or just get away in general. When she asked him about the ideas he had, he couldn't help but laugh a little at that.
"Well I have a few ideas, but I'll share mine when you share yours" he said with a wink

"But those are part of winter. Winter isn't winter with out the ice and the cold." Rose almost laughed again. "Besides, with out the cold or the ice how could you go ice skating or make snowmen, or do any other winter activity?" She fixed him with a 'Yeah, right' look when he spoke next. Like she'd tell him her ideas. He'd run off and hide if he knew. Though she could hint. She finally just shrugged. "No way am I giving it away. But I will say learning by error isn't really an option."
