"I suppose that's about right... I suppose I was a bit busy getting slammed into the walls to tell which ones ye had toasted." He said with a slight grin. When he thought about it, the only pile of ash he did see was from the criminal leader. Though he did remember quite a few of them screaming while he was getting tossed around by the mutant. That had annoyed him, getting picked up and tossed like a ragdoll wasn't very fun.
Rory nodded in agreement, "Aye, they had no idea what they were in store for." He chuckled a little bit about the shock on the criminals faces when Freya started burning them, "Hehe, I thought the man who pushed the old woman down was going to start crying when you made flames circle him." He said with another laugh. It was a bit interesting that he didn't like seeing innocent people suffer, but enjoyed watching those who did wrong suffer. It had always amused him.
Suddenly the woman started laughing hysterically. The sudden change caused Rory to jump slightly and lean away from her until he realized why she was laughing, then he settled back down beside her on the railing. When she continued laughing Rory chuckled hesitently along with her before speaking, "I, uh... I don't get it..." He said awkwardly before she explained herself.
"Why not? I would guess there would be plenty." He said as he glanced over at her, "I mean, yer beautiful, yer a great fighter, powerful, and yet easy to be around. What's not to like?" He asked curiously, suddenly realizing that he was flirting with her. That was something Rory rarely, as in not in the last couple hundred years, did. That fact that he did suddenly made him nervous, which making Rory nervous was an amazing feat by itself.

Freya hadn't expected to make Rory so nervous from laughing. But, for some reason she just found it funny. Rory had seen her at her 'almost' worse. He should know why men kept clear of her! Not to mention when they were home, she tended to be a bit... territorial. Okay, maybe more then a bit. Tari always stayed close in case Freya caught a poor lost soul on their land.
"I'm sorry. I don't know why I find that so funny." His next comments though... left her completely and utterly speechless. She stared at him, almost gapping but she'd at least been able to stop her jaw from hanging open. Wait, what had he said? Had she heard right? No way was he saying something like that! "Wait, I think I heard you wrong... huh?" Freya looked so confused, and lost, it was almost cute.

Rory was still trying to figure out why he had said what he said when he glanced over at Freya and noticed her shocked and confused expression. At first it made him grin slightly, but then made him even more nervous and for likely the first time in his life he didn't know what to say or do. He felt like a little kid again, something that didn't happen often.
"I, uh said that..." He paused for a moment, trying to decide what to say. It felt strange to not know what to say or do, "... I like ye? I mean, I like yer company.. you know, enjoy... talking, and... yeah." He felt like he was digging himself deeper into a grave and decided it was probably best to not say anymore; expecting that Freya would probably think him an idiot and leave. Though, he couldn't help but wonder why he cared so much, he was always in control of every situation, combat or not. Yet now, it was spiraling out of his control, and he didn't like that.

Freya slowly blinked, as if having just woken up, finally registering what he was saying. Still though, she was so hopelessly confused! And the way Rory seemed so uncertain himself, it only made her even more confused. So.... he liked being around her? Why did this seem more like a confession then a 'I'd like to be friends' type moment? Sure, Freya did like the guy, how much she wasn't really sure. She had slapped him for making her worry over him when he died... If that said anything... And she hadn't fried him when he made her angry...
And why did it seem like he had absolutely no idea what it was he was doing? It was a little cute, like a little kid trying to tell his first crush he liked her, and having no idea how to do it. Suddenly though, she was smiling. "You're not very good at this, are you?" She paused. "But yeah. I like spending time with you to. You're one of the only people that doesn't 'cower' when I try talking to you." Which was true. People that knew of her reputation tried to steer clear of Freya...

Rory had never felt this many emotions at once. Normally he was lucky to feel one emotion. Now he was embarrassed, nervous, and angry with himself all at the same time. It was new for him, and while he disliked it he did find it somewhat refreshing too. It was good to feel human sometimes, but now he had experianced it and decided he wanted it to go away; which it did almost as soon as he noticed Freya smile.
He couldn't help but grin, "No, I'm not that great at it... They didn't exactly teach this in combat training." Yet, now Rory felt they should have. It was a lot like combat, psychological combat and personally, Rory would prefer being in actual combat than having to express himself. Death was easier to handle. "That's absurd. I'd rather be with you than be with the whelps that cower from ye. They're probably just intimidated by everythin' ye got going fer ye." He said with a nod, finally able to star composing himself again.

Rory wasn't the only one that had a hard time expressing themselves like this. With Freya it wasn't exactly a common thing for her to have a 'heart to heart' moment with anyone. It was 'Do what I say or be fried'. Not to mention... This type of thing just naturally wasn't easy to handle. Freya though had decided to take a more reasonable, I shouldn't be nervous about it, outlook.
She laughed a little, shaking her head. "Yeah, probably. They think I'll fry them if they take a wrong step. I don't fry people as often as everyone thinks!" Or even as often as she thought! It was a rare occurrence actually. Only happened when she was extremely mad. She usually went for the easier, roast the insides, rather then turn the body to charcoal.

Rory was finally controlling his emotions again and going back to his regular self. It felt much better to have gotten that out of the way now, if they hadn't now he probably never would have. it was funny that a man who could charge into a fight where the odds against him coming back alive were astronomical, jump out of airplanes at altitudes even the best jumper would be afraid of, and take on armed men with only his bare-hands. Yet he talks to a women for ten minutes and completely falls apart.
"No, you just burn them from the inside out... Much more humane." He said sarcastically, with a slight smirk. That was like beating a person to death with a club instead of just shooting them, which made Rory laugh a little. "Aye, people tend to be scared of me as well. They get intimidated before they even know me." Of course, many of them had a reason to be intimidated, but he wasn't going to admit that.
He glanced back out over the grounds again, almost all the students were gone by now and the air was getting cooler. This was generally the time when Rory left for the forest, which gave him an idea. "So, has anyone ever shown ye the mansion grounds?" Rory asked, turning back to Freya.

Freya smiled sheepishly, suddenly embarrassed that Rrory had been paying attention before. "Well, you don't leave that must evidence if you cook them from the inside..." She paused. Unless they had an autopsy of course.. And then it'd be pretty obvious what happened. "Well, you do have an air of intimidation about you." She chuckled softly. She didn't think he did, but she'd seen other people's reactions to him.
She rolled her shoulders a little, noticing the cooling of the air. For some reason, that annoyed her a little. SHe liked the temperature at a certain degrees, even if she could handle just about any temperature possible. With ease she heated the air around her back up the few degrees it had dropped. "The grounds?" She paused, shaking her head. "No. First time I've been to the school actually. Tari usually handled all the business, so I never had to come before now."

"No, I suppose you don't... Except ye still leave a dead body." He said with a slight grin, that was quite a bit of evidence right there. Though, everyone left bodies when they killed, except for one group. The men Rory had trained never left behind bodies, but now wasn't the time to think about that, it just ruined his mood and right now he didn't want that. Though really, Freya seemed to cheer him up better than anything else.
When she said she hadn't been around the grounds yet he leaned up from the railing and turned toward her. "Well, that must change then. This is some of the most interesting land I've seen outside of me homeland." He took a slight step closer to her, but also closer to the door, "And with it so warm out, it's the perfect time." He said with a wink, making a subtle hint that he knew she had made it warmer again.

An exagerated sigh escaped Freya. "I know, I know. But nothing about my power is all that subtle, now is it?" She didn't exactly have a 'subtle' setting on her power when she killed someone. If there was, she'd gladly use it.
Smiling a little, Freya finally hopped down from the railing, happy with the change of subjects."Well, will you be my guide then? I fear I'd get so lost." She probably would. And then she'd start burning stuff down to find her way back. That wasn't a bright idea. When she noticed his step towards the door, she chuckled a little. "Really? Why use a door?" She held out her hands for him to take. If he'd trust her, she could get them to the ground.... And Rory would know exactly how. Whether he would trust her though.... Well.....

"Of course I'll guide ye, just be sure to stay close to me." He said with another slight wink. This flirting thing was starting to get a little easier, or, at least he though he was flirting; he still wasn't completely sure. This was very new ground for him. After winking he took a slight step toward the door before he heard Freya speak again. A little confused he turned back to face her only to see her holding out her hands.
He knew immediately what she wanted to do. He slowly walked back close to her, glancing over the edge of the balcony. Using a little parkour he could see a path to the ground if he just jumped out of the balcony, and he trusted his life in his own hands better than anyone else. Yet, when he looked back at Freya holding out her hands he felt perhaps he could give her a chance. After all, it wasn't like she could kill him. He took another larger step to her, stepping close beside her.
Probably closer than he needed to be for her to get him to the ground, but he wasn't moving close to her out of fear. Fear was a more foreign concept to him than anything else. He took her hands in his, "So... Should I like, countdown before we blast off or something?" He asked with a slight smirk.

It was a good thing Freya caught herself, because otherwise she might have blushed from his flirtatious comment. She'd had men flirt with her before, so what made Rory so different? Why was it that she wanted to blush everytime he did, and not when the other men had?
Freya smiled a little, noticing his caution, almost like he was trying to figure out if he should let her get them to the ground or not. It wasn't that dangerous, what was there to think about? Didn't Rory like danger and thrills, after all?
Catching herself just in time from blushing again by just how close Rory got, Freya closed her fingers around his, holding to them tightly. "No. A countdown is just to damn slow." Oh dear... That meant she'd give no warning. And she didn't.
Because the next moment, fire had surrounded both of them and sent them barreling into the air and descending to the ground below. Fire wasn't exactly slow, so when she did do things like this, there was only one speed, so their descent was fast, their initial 'blast off' had been fast. And just before they hit the ground, flames picked up again, this time slowing them so they could land safely on the grass below. It was a good thing most the students were inside, because they'd probably all be staring by this point.
Almost reluctantly, Freya released his hands, dropping her own to her sides. "That wasn't so bad, now was it?" She joked, smiling almost cheerfully again.

"No countdown? Well then, this should be fun." He said with a grin, completely truthful though still a bit hesitent about all the flames. There were very, very, few if any things Rory was truly afraid of and while dying by fire was not one of them, it was one of the least pleasant ways to go. Not to mention Rory was not used to trusting other people, once again though, something about Freya was different than most people.
Suddenly flames burst up around them and they shot into the air like a mutant rocket. Rory immediately began laughing slightly as the hurtled toward the ground, obviously having absolutely no fear of death. When they finally touched down, he stopped laughing but still was grinning, "That was interesting... I could think of some fun things to do with that. In fact, I could have a lot of fun with your powers." He said with an almost devious smile because most of the ideas were fairly devious themselves.
"No, it was actually... Enjoyable." He said with a slight wink. When she let go of his hands, Rory was a bit reluctant as well. Though, even though he was no longer holding her hands he was still standing close to her. Mostly because she hadn't moved away from him either. "So, shall we begin the tour?" He asked, motioning his arm out toward the forest, lake, and everything else around the school.

Freya was used to sending herself sky high with her fire, so she didn't have much reaction. It was every day life to her. It did make her smile brightly when she heard Rory laughing and grinning. She didn't know why his laughter made her stomach flutter about, it just did. It was odd...
Neither of them had moved an inch since they landed, which didn't help. This time, a soft shade of pink touched her cheeks, not a full blush, but it was definitely not her normal skin color. "Where to first then, Tour Guide?" She smiled softly.
((...Ugh! Horrible post. Oh well....))

It was starting to get somewhat dark as the sun set, but Rory was still able to immediately notice the slight pink tinge on her cheeks. This instantly made him a bit more nervous, yet still he hadn't moved away from her. Apparently she liked being close to him as much as he did for her, "Well, the hedge maze is the closest... So, to the hedge maze I s'pose." He said with a slight grin as well, turning toward the maze and because he was so close, slightly brushing Freya's hand as he did so.
"So, how long will you be in America?" He asked curiously, slowly beginning his walk toward the maze. Though he was moving slowly so that he and Freya would have plenty of time to talk before they got there.
