Freya hadn't been lying when she said she enjoyed his company. In more ways then one. She liked how easy to talk to Rory was, she liked how he made her feel, and in those quick moments they touched....
She was quick to follow him, matching her pace with his own so they could walk side by side. "As long as this war is going." Freya sighed. The war Cain was causing... It had everyone on edge. And ever since Cain had just... vanished, Tari and Freya dare not travel back and forth between here and France, in case Cain showed up at a random moment. Not to mention, it was only good manners to stay close to their allies. "Maybe longer... Depending on if we can find something worth staying for." She smiled, almost hinting at something. If someone that had grown extremely close to her in her time here asked her to stay, there was no doubt in her mind. Freya would stay.

Rory had been calmly walking along when a small girl ran out screaming about llamas. He stopped in his tracks and his jaw dropped slighty as she left. He remained silent for several moments before glancing and Freya, pointing his hand where the girl had been as if about to speak. No words came out though, so he slowly closed his dropped jaw and shook his head, continuing walking as if it hadn't happened.
Freya walking so closely immediately took his mind off though. They were still just as close as they had been when she took them off the balcony, but were now walking side by side. What she said made him pause slightly in his steps though, "War?" A confused expression covered his face, last time he really got killed he had been out of comission for a couple of years. How much had changed since then?
He glanced over at her after her next comment, noticing the smile. "Well... hopefully I can help ye find something worth staying for." He said with a kind smile, hinting back at her. Despite moving across the lawn slowly, they were coming up to the hedge maze very quickly, which in the failing sun light appeared very daunting. Admittedly it appeared daunting during the day, but it was even more so with the shadows being cast by it now.

Freya almost laughed at the Rory's reaction, shrugging as if to say 'This IS a school after all'. There were plenty of little kids running around here. And that one must be a strange one. Rory though, didn't seem able to make the connection, which made his reaction all the funnier. His jaw hanging open, pointing at where the girl had been, as if wanting to say something but unable to say it.
Rory had suddenly stopped, and she didn't even notice until she'd taken a few more steps. Hearing his confused tone, she glanced over her shoulder, and eyebrow raised. "Yeah. You heard about Tokyo, right? How there's nothing left of it. A man, Cain, is causing a lot of problems right now. But he keeps vanishing before any of us stronger mutants appear. He's gone after a few students here to. You know about the Nightshades, right? He tried to brainwash one of them, Rose." Rory was definitely be familiar with Nightshade name. They were powerful mutants, but even Rory wouldn't have targeted them. They weren't just powerful in abilities. They had their hands buried in politics and so much more. It was suicide to go after them.
Freya's smile brightened a little when he spoke again. "Yeah. Hopefully." The hedge didn't look all that daunting to Freya. If only because she could burn the entire thing down in a heart beat. Not that she would. SHe knew how long it took for these things to grow.

Most everything that Freya had said was news to Rory. The only familiar name in the whole story was "Nightshade". He had heard of them while he was in the Agency, but during his time there were many other mutants that the Agency was more interested in than the Nightshade family. Everything else though was mostly news for him, "I've heard a little about Tokyo, but not much... Cain? Is he a mutant?" Rory had heard of humans causing trouble for mutants on grand levels, such as some of the Agency directors, so he felt it was good to ask.
When Freya smiled again though, Rory couldn't help to do the same. He didn't know what it was about her, but she made him feel better. Better about everything, and was probably one of the few people to ever see Rory show any emotion. Because she was so easily able to do it, she intriguied Rory... Perhaps attracted him as well. Soon they were standing at the entrance to the hedge maze. Rory stopped beside Freya, still as close as he could be to her without feeling like he was invading her personal space. Though, so far she had stayed just as close to him, so something told him that perhaps she liked it.
"Well, this is the maze. I've heard quite a few stories about students disappearing and having to have someone rescue them out." He said as he looked over the very large walls of the maze before turning to Freya, "So, do ye want to go in?... I promise I won't let ye out of me sight." He said with a slightly sheepish smile, still not used to this subtle flirting thing.

"Yeah." Freya was annoyed with Cain. He avoided the extremely powerful mutants, the ones that could give him a run for his money. "Whatever he comes in contact with, he can become part of and control, so he's been giving a lot of people trouble. Especially the weaker elementalists. Whatever is thrown at him, he just becomes part of and throws back."Of course, if Cain ever went up against Freya or Tari, he'd learn pretty quick that their power over their one element was far superior then his, and be completely overwhelmed. "He's stolen a lot of technology, some from the school, some from Apocalypse. He even got his hands on the blue prints for the Sentinels." Freya sighed softly, shaking her head.
"It doesn't help that he keep vanishing, and no one is able to track him down." If Freya had to guess, he'd discovered something to block telepaths from finding his location.
Freya stared at the hedge for a moment, before shrugging. "Yeah. I bet the students purposely get lost in here, just to get out of classes or something." It wouldn't surprise her, if only because Freya would have done the exact same thing when she was younger. She smiled softly as his next comment, almost blushing again. His flirting was so subtle. She had to say.... she liked it. Rory wasn't one for cheesy pick up lines. "Of course. Unless you're to scared to go in?" She gave him a mischievous look, her eyes laughing as she quickly retreated into the maze with out another word. She didn't know a ton about Rory, but one thing was for certain, he'd keep to his word, and be right behind her before she could get more then a few steps into the maze.

Rory listened quietly as Freya explained the situation. Rory had no idea about any of that, nor had he ever heard the name Cain. Something told him that the Agency probably knew plenty about it though, but then so would he if he hadn't spent the last few years dead. Cain himself sounded like an interesting mutant. Able to become whatever he touched? That's very interesting indeed. Not to mention the fact that he possessed incredible technology and sentinels, Rory knew those all to well.
"Well ya know... I used to track people, among other things... Perhaps I could help some time." Tracking people was an understatement. He had tracked mutants in hiding around the world before, generally to kill them, but the same tactics should still apply.
Rory laughed a little, she was probably right, they probably did do it to skip class. "Skip class, or other things... Seems like every corner I walk around in the school has another pair of teenagers sucking each others face off." He said with a shake of his head. Then again, that was normal teenager behaviour, whether they were mutant or not.
Suddenly she was running into the maze, and Rory couldn't help but grin. "Scared? Never..." He called in after her, letting her continue running into the maze while he stood there. He was right behind her in a matter of moments, but not anywhere where she could see him. The falling sun mixed with the tall walls of the maze had made it fairly dark inside the maze and while you could still see, it was hard to make out any shadows because of how many of them there were. Rory, along with his unnatural speed, used that to move ahead of Freya, suddenly stepping out of the shadows in front of her. "...Lost yet?" He asked with a grin.

"You'd have mention it to Xavier. He wants to know everything that's being done in the hunt for Cain."
Freya wasn't the best when it came to mazes, but she'd sure as hell try! Like she'd ever pass up the challenge and look like an idiot. She did laugh as Rory announced that he was never scared as she vanished in the hedge. She didn't know if he was following though. Was he trying to scare her? She noticed quickly just how dark it was in here. She could have used her power, to just make a lantern of fire of sorts, but stopped herself. She'd rather do it the old fashioned way. In a matter of turns though, she was completely... and utterly lost.
Rory had chosen that moment to just appear out of nowhere in front of her, and just about scaring her out of her skin. She yelped, which was very uncharacteristic of her.

Rory immediately let out a laugh, which echoed in the empty hedge maze, when Freya yelped. Though he did feel somewhat bad for doing that now. Regardless, he still found it fairly funny. He rarely used that skill to have fun either, despite how much fun one could have with it. "Easy, lass, it's just me... I told ye I wouldn't let ye out of me sight." He said with a wink.
The sun was completely gone by now, but the light from the rising stars gave off just enough light to see the path and for Rory to see Freya clearly. Well, he could see in darkness well anyways. Part of his mutation included perfect vision, somewhat beyond that of a regular human. "Sorry, I didn't mean to make ye jump." He apologized, walking closer to Freya.

Freya let out an exasperated sigh, how the hell had he gotten ahead of her? And she'd known he was quiet, but not that quiet. He was like, dare she say it, a ninja. After taking a moment to get over the initial shock, she laughed. She felt like a complete and utter idiot. Not just because she was lost, but because he'd scared her half to death! "You didn't say anything about trying to scare me." She wouldn't admit he'd scared her, probably why she added the 'trying'.
It was completely dark now, but neither of them seemed to have to many issues seeing. Rory with his enhanced, amazing eyes, and Freya... well because she just didn't seem bothered by the darkness. The stars were bright, but the streetlights of the city dulled their glow to only a faint glimmer. "When you're that good at sneaking around, it's hard not to jump sometimes." Some reason, Freya didn't know why, but when he took that first step closer, she took one as well, but let Rory come the rest of the way...

"Well, it wouldn't have been as fun if I had." He said with a slight grin. He hadn't meant to scare her, but that didn't mean it wasn't funny when he did. Though, Rory himself had been soo busy catching up to Freya and waiting for the perfect moment to walk out that he lost track of where they were in the maze. The darkness of the maze didn't help either. Rory had been through the maze during the day, but anyone who's every gone hiking could affirm that everything looked different after dark."Aye, well, I'll try not to let it happen again." That was a partial lie, if he had the chance to scare her again for fun, he would probably take it.
Suddenly though, Rory realized he wasn't looking at the maze, or the stars, or even worried about the darkness though. He was watching Freya, and couldn't help it either. He was staring, but this time he was neither "checking her out" or judging her for weakness. Was he really attracted to her? He continued stepping closer, noticing her moving forward a little as well, until they were almost as close as they had been on the balcony. "I suppose we should probably try te find a way out." He said, but didn't move from where he was standing yet.

Well, this was Rory for you. She shouldn't have expected another sort of answer from him. This just seemed to be the person he was. She didn't at all believe his saying he'd 'try' not to do it again. He'd do it, if she ever left herself open for it. "Now why do I doubt that..?" She smiled then, even though it might be hard to see in the dark like this.
Freya was even more lost then Rory was. Shed never been in the maze before, day or night. He had a better chance of leading them out of there then she did. If she tried, she'd soon be so frustrated she'd make her own path out of here. Again, that's be a bad idea.
Her breath suddenly caught in her throat when she saw the way he was looking at her. A look he'd never given her up until this very moment. Even in the near pitch black she could see just how different this look was. "Probably..." Freya was finally able to voice something, her words quieter then intended. Like Rory though, she made no motion to try and find a way out, or even regain the distance that had been between them.

"I don't know... Maybe because ye don't trust me?" Rory wouldn't blame her if she didn't, at least in that aspect of trust. Really he would be surprised if she trusted him at all, most people didn't. Though he was being proved wrong by the every day at the mansion, where so many people ignored what his past may have been like and just took him as he was.
It was so strange to be around people that actually were kind to you. Sure, the Agency had always taken care of it's members. It made sure they were well trained, well fed, and well rested, but that's about as far as it went. They never cared about the well being of any of the agents, only their on ulterior motives which only the directors knew.
Apparently Freya trusted him more than he gave her credit for though as she never left when he moved closer. Rory found took a step closer, so that by now he was close to touching her. "Probably, before it gets too dark... you know." Still, he made no movement away from her. Suddenly, he found himself leaning toward her, which every ounce of him found awkward. He had never done something like this before, not only did he barely know the girl, but he wasn't the type of person to care about people. Yet there they were, alone in the hedge maze, with Rory moving for a kiss.

Freya couldn't help it, she smirked a little. "Sometimes I don't." Sometimes. She'd trusted Rory before. Wasn't she trusting him now? And at the bank, she'd left her life in his hands, almost quite literally. Sometimes only meant part of the time though, which meant.. most the time? For some odd, unexplainable reason, she just couldn't stop herself from trusting him.
Why was she so willing to trust Rory like this? She was alone with him, in near pitch black conditions, with not a single soul near them. Just.. the two of them. A tension growing between them, but not the type you would think. Something about these moments were making them want to be closer and closer to the other.
"I don't think it can get any darker..." The sun had completely set by then, it couldn't get that much darker now. And then.... Rory was even closer, slowly leaning towards her. Leaning in to kiss her. Did she want him to kiss her? Every fiber of her being screamed 'YES'.
Rory was so close now.... Close enough it wouldn't have taken near any effort from her to close the remaining distance. Slowly, but surely, she took the matter into her own hands, coming the rest of the way to meet his awaiting lips.

"You probably shouldn't." Rory didn't know why he had said that, despite it being so very true. He was the last person in the world anyone should trust their lives with. He was the last person in the world that you would turn your back on, and before coming to the mansion had no problem making friends then stabbing them in the back. He was no doubt a very dangerous person, yet here and now no one would be able to tell that.
With Freya that was all different, it had started as early as their first meeting at the bank. He knew immediately that she was a powerful mutant, he had been brainwashed and trained to kill powerful mutants, yet he had saved her life. Not only that but he had several opportunities to kill her, one was just a few moments ago when she ran into the maze. Yet killing her had never even crossed his mind, so perhaps he could be trusted, at least by her.
Rory was incredibly nervous though as he leaned in to kiss her, he had never let himself get so open with anyone, nor was he ever so afraid of getting turned down. Amazingly though, in his mind at least, she didn't back away. Instead, he soon had his lips pressing against hers, and no words could have described the relief or excitement from him. Soon he wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her in tighter to him, and kissing her a bit more passionately.
