The building was a lot bigger then he had first thought. It was a skyscraper, one that reached almost as high if not higher then the normal. He was beginning to have second thoughts, but soon brushed them off, but the nervousness was still there. He took a deep breath and walked towards the doors.
As he came up to the double doors, they slid open with ease, revealing a mess of both blood and debris. Whatever had happened in here didn't end well. The smell was almost toxic and made his stomach twinge. He took a few steps in, bracing for any alarm to sound or mutants or guards to come out. But what he got was...nothing.
"Hm." he said, taking a few steps in, "Wonder what happened here."

Anya hadn't expected the building to be that big, either, but tried not to let it worry her. She followed him and stepped in after him. She wasn't barefooted anymore, so she didn't see any visions from her steps. She'd grabbed her boots on the way out. If she hadn't, her feet would've been terribly scraped and bruised from all the debris everywhere. She hadn't really expected the place to be squeaky-clean, but she definitely didn't think it would look like this.
She hesitated when he wondered what happened. She could find out just by touching the blood and debris, but she didn't think she wanted to. Pain and suffering was the last thing she wanted to see visions of. But would he tell her to touch the debris anyway? Possibly...
"I don't think I want to know," she admitted. For once she wasn't smiling, but she wasn't frowning, either.

He looked back at her when she spoke, seeing her smile had completely disappeared. She was just as worried as he was, and the look on her face proved it. He was partly wanting to ask her to touch something and find out, but his gut feeling made him imagine that it had something to do with Cain. That alone played images in his mind that may only dwarf what could've really happened.
"Well...don't touch anything ok? I don't think I want to know either."
He looked around the office until he saw a large crater in the wall. He didn't know it himself, but this was where Rose's powers first began to get out of control, forcing Cain and Sky to leave, the dried being the guards Cain had slaughtered when he and Jackie first arrived. He looked around from door to door, making sure Anya stayed close.
"This place is like one big armory. It'll take us days to find what we're looking for."

She was relieved when he told her not to touch anything. She looked at the crater in the wall curiously, but avoided touching it. She stayed close to him, like she knew he wanted her to. When David spoke again, she bit her lip. Days? She hadn't expected it to take that long.
Then she thought a moment. She was sure whatever they needed to find would be difficult to get to. It would be too easy if it wasn't."What exactly are we looking for?"

"Don't worry, we'll find it."
He looked back and spoke, seeing her bite her lip. His curiosity about the crater brought him towards it for a moment. He knelt down and touched the surface which was smooth as glass, no jagged edges or sharp objects. Whatever happened had left a smooth crater in the wall and the floor. He stood up when Anya spoke, revealing a good question. Of course they were here to find information on Cain, but where would they find it.
"Well...we need to find something that would house information on mutants."

She watched him as he examined the crater, and if she thought for even a second that it didn't involve something dangerous and violent, then she would've touched it too.
She thought for a moment when he said they had to found something with information on mutants. She ran her small hand through her blonde hair, unintentionally redirecting her part, as she thought.
"I think I could find that."
She walked passed him into another long corridor, where there wasn't any blood or debris or sign of danger. Then she knelt down and placed her hand flat on the floor, her eyes closed. She tried to ignore the fighting and hatred in her visions and tried to figure out where they could find mutant information.

"Be careful ok?"
He had a feeling he knew what she was going to do, and when she started walking down the hall, looking around and reaching out her hand, his worry was confirmed. He walked over to her, kneeling down next to her as she closed her eyes and concentrated. He waited a while before speaking, hoping he wasn't interrupting her concentration.
"Can you see anything?"

She opened her eyes when he spoke, and it took a moment for her eyes to focus on him because she was still seeing visions. He had interrupted her concentration but so did a lot of people, so she was used to it and it didn't bother her. She pulled her hand off the floor and nodded and then walked in the other direction down another corridor.
"Lots of people have been in here. The ones looking for information went this way," she explained. As she walked she taped her fingers on the wall every so often to make sure they were still going the right way.

"Did I interrupt you? Sorry."
He felt bad for interrupting, but his curiosity and nervousness about the building caused his patience to shrink. When she stood up and explained where the people looking for information went, he smiled and followed after her. So far they were making a pretty good team, and each time she touched the walls and changed directions, he was following right behind.
"This place really is empty. It's like a ghost town inside a building."

"Not really," she lied, but now wasn't the time for his feelings to get hurt. And interrupting her was normal anyway.
"I know," she nodded. "Why is this whole place abandoned?" she looked back at him slightly and tapped the wall again.
Anya turned forward again, but then stopped abruptly. Dead end. She pursed her lips and looked around. How could the guys in the visions find information at a dead ended corridor? There must've been something else to it. She only hoped that David didn't think he was silly for listening to her. To someone who didn't see the visions the way she could, leading him to a dead end seemed rather stupid.
She kept her finger on the wall, trying to see if this was definitely the way the men had come. It was, she was sure of it. So there had to be something else there. She just had to figure out what it was.

He continued to follow her around, hoping she was leading them somewhere. He could tell in her voice that he had brought her out of it when he spoke. He was good at guessing, having learned experience from his little sister. When she asked why the whole place was abandoned, he just shrugged. Something didn't feel right inside. When they came to a end, he looked ahead.
"What the..."
When she touched the wall, he could tell she was as confused as he was. Did they really come here? he thought, scanning the wall with his eyes. If he were anybody else he would've said she was losing her touch, but being in the mansion made one stop thinking that way. He began feeling over the wall, then changed into his stone form. If they weren't going to find one way in, he was going to make one.
"Step back for a bit."

She pressed her hand harder against the wall, ignoring David's "what the" as if he didn't exist anymore. This is what she did when she really didn't want to be interrupted. No one can get Anya out of a trance once she's in one deep enough, and she was now. She snapped herself out of it after a few moments and looked at him.
Right before he made his own way in through the wall, she suddenly said, "Wait!"
She walked passed him to the opposite wall, and ran her hand down it. Once she was about halfway down, where a doornob would ususally be, she smiled. She pulled one of her hookswords out of her belt and forced it into the wall. It went through with a loud bang and then the wall opened to reveal another dark corridor.
"Wrong wall," she turned and smirked at David, hooking her sword back onto her belt. She motioned for him to go first. It took a lot of strength to open that door, which was obvious from the loud bang, so it showed she was a whole lot stronger than she looked.

"Sure, ruin my fun why don't ya?"
He smiled at her when she said they had the wrong wall. His form turned to normal as he watched her scan the area, taking out her sword and slamming it through the material. He had to admit, he was impressed with how strong she was, though he was worried that the noise would attract attention, even if the place seemed empty.
The door opened into another corridor, and Anya made the gesture for him to go first. He smiled a bit, giving her a graceful bow in thanks. He then took a few steps into the doorway, looking around as he did. He could see nothing past where the light from the hall shone through.
"Where's a light when you need one?"

She smiled at him when he teased about ruining his fun. And she followed him right after he stepped in, and the wall closed behind them. She looked back at it, tapped it with her fingers again out of habit, and then continued to walk forward. Unlike a normal person, who would freak out with paranoia about how the door closed on its own.
But now they were in complete darkness. Anya pursed her lips at his comment. "Really," she nodded, although she knew he couldn't see it. She sighed and took off her boots. Now, barefooted against the floor, she could see through her feet. But David would still be blind. She looked back in his direction, and could feel through the floor where he was standing. Then she grabbed his hand and pulled him forward and they kept on down the black hallway.

"Well...there's no turning back now."
He turned when he heard the door close behind them, making the comment afterwards. As if I wanted to turn back. We're here for a reason a thought in his head came. He turned back towards the hall, or what he thought was towards the hall, taking careful steps forward. It wasn't until he felt a gentle hand on his that he stopped. He smiled when he realised that Anya had taken over and was leading them down the hall. He was definetly glad she came along.
"Ok...I'll let you lead then." he smiled, though she probably couldn't see it.
