Remy wasn't the kind of guy who took to the danger room at the mansion for training. In his mind training was going out and training on his own. He grabbed a few cans and bottles that were laying in the recycling of the mansion and headed out into the woods, his staff neatly strapped to the back of his coat.
He walked into the woods until he came upon a clearing that looked like it had been attacked. One tree was split in two and another one looked as if it had been pushed over. His curiosity only asking the question of how this could've happened and who, or what, caused it. He shrugged it off, chalking it up to mutant activity.
He smirked at that thought since "mutant activity" seemed to be a key play in the events lately. As he thought about mutants, his mind turned to the party that was a focus of "mutant activity". He chuckled, wondering how they had gotten out of paying for the apartment with Tari and Freya going at it, and he and Rory having their own battle.
He walked to the center of the clearing, placing his bag of bottles onto the ground. He reached into the bag, taking one out and taking out some cards from his pocket. His eyes glowed red as he tossed a bottle into the air, throwing card after card at it. Three cards hit it, launching it further into the air before causing it to explode.
"Three cards this time." he smiled to himself, "Getting better everyday."

Vin was sitting down by a tree, trying to think. Her eyes were closed and if someone happened to see her, they'd think she was asleep. She always left the mansion when she didn't want to be distracted by the students and their problems. But, when she heard an explosion nearby, she figured that she couldn't get any peace and quiet even in the woods.
She sighed, her eyes open now, and stood. She followed the sound of the explosion, and also sensed the energy of someone nearby. She stood at the edge of the clearing behind a figure, and she knew he probably didn't know she was there. She'd seen him before and knew others called him Gambit, but she'd never really talked to him. But then again, she never talked to anybody.
She just decided she'd wait and see what he could do. Seeing as his powers must've caused the explosion, she could understand why he'd come to the clearing to practice rather than the danger room. For some reason, Vin always found watching other mutants amusing.

He reached into the bag again, this time taking out four more bottles. Again his eyes glowed as he threw each bottle, one by one, into the air. He tossed his cards into the air, holding out a hand for them to land. As the bottles began to fall back to earth, the cards landed on his hand and immediately took off towards the bottles. Each card sending a bottle in a different direction.
"It's not a good idea to be eavesdropping on one's training."
He smirked as the bottles shattered in midair, the pieces falling to the forest below. It wasn't like he could sense her coming, more like his previous encounters with mutants and humans had caused him to "feel" when someone was nearby. Especially after his own run in with Stryker and his minions.

Vin watched the bottles and wasn't surprised to see that he knew she was there. Due to her empathy, she already knew that he could somehow tell she was there. She stepped out into the clearing, still behind him. She couldn't see his face.
"And why is that?" she asked, her tone emotionless. She didn't really care what his answer was. She was more focused on how he answered. That was how Vin really figured someone out. And after a while, she'd learned to be really good at that, and empathy doesn't hurt.

"Cuz some people might take offense to it, try to strike at whoever's standing in the certain spot."
When she stepped out of the clearing, he turned to face her, his eyes changing from glowing read back to the dark brown they had. He had seen the around school, but never really had the need for introduction. Partly because he only introduced himself to people who were wanting to know him, and partly because she seemed to busy to talk to. Today though, it seemed neither option was available.
"So what do I owe the honor of this pleasant visit?"

She knew what he said was true. She'd expected that sort of answer from him, so he didn't amuse her much anymore. She only liked carrying on conversations with those who answer differently than she'd expect. She wasn't that surprised or curious about his eye color changing, either. Her eyes changed color, too, when she used a tremendous amount of her power. But Gambit wasn't part of the X-men, so she figured it would be best to stay on his good side.
"I was investigating," she admitted, her tone still emotionless. Her expression was completely blank. "The last time I heard a sound like that in the forest, someone was seriously hurt." She didn't intend to tell him who she was referring to. Partly because he wasn't an X-men and probably didn't care to know, and partly because she didn't think she trusted him yet.

"Ah, I see."
He smirked at her, walking back to his bag and pulling out a few more bottles. He set them in different areas around the clearing, walking back to the center afterwards. He nodded his head when she spoke of someone seriously getting hurt.
"Most people would be hurt after an explosion, though I do hope the fellow was alright."
He ran towards a nearby tree, his eyes glowing red once again. He lept towards the tree, planting his feet against the bark and launching himself into the air. A flick of the wrist, and cards rained down onto the bottles, exploding on impact with each one. He landed in the same spot he started from, turning towards the girl and giving a half smile.

She nodded slowly when he hoped the fellow was alright. "He is," she said softly, still emotionless. There was still nothing unexpected in what he said.
She watched him do his stunt, kicking off the tree and causing more explosions. Any normal person would have found it impressive, but she showed no sign of amazement. He seemed talented and had great aim, she would admit, but it was nothing compared to what she could do. She still wouldn't want to get in a fight with him. But she wasn't cocky at all, she was very humble actually, and only few people knew that she was a level 5. But it would still take a lot of power to surprise her.
She didn't say anything even after he landed in the same spot he'd started in. Most people would comment or critisize her about her silence or being so emotionless all the time, so she figured she'd see what this man would say next. She was the opposite of social, so it was up to him to keep a conversation going with her.

"Good news."
He said when she said that the boy was alright. He fished around in the bag until he had found the last bottle. He sighed, wondering how he would be able to perform his final training for his "shooting". He looked around trying to find something, but nothing came to mind until he looked to his visitor. He smiled and walked over to her, holding the bottle out to her.
"Excuse me, sorry, but would you mind giving this a throw? As hard as you can into the air."

She watched him walk over to her and hold out the bottle. As hard as you can, he'd said. Well, the hardest she could would be boosted by her powers, and that would be in the ozone within two seconds. She guessed she wasn't supposed to throw it that hard. She liked the idea of impressing him, though.
She nodded and took the bottle. She tossed it into the air, and only boosted it a little with her powers. It still went flying faster than he's thrown them before, and faster than he'd flown when he kicked off the tree.
Then she waited to see what he'd do this time with his cards.

He told her to throw it, and boy did she? She not only threw it but launched it into the air, so far in fact that Remy had to shield his eyes from the sun. He gave an appreciated whistle as the bottle disappeared from sight.
"Now that's a throw." he said with a half smile.
He readied a single card, his eyes glowing read as he watched for the bottle. He had almost begun to think that it was thrown farther then he had expected it to be, but managed to see it a little ways off. This will be a tough one for sure. he thought, focusing his eyes on the target. When he locked onto where it was, he let the card fly. The card quickly shrunk from view, and after a few seconds, a small burst of explosive energy was seen and the bottle was gone.

She couldn't help but smirk slightly at his whistle. She could sense how impressed he really was by her empathy. And she knew it would be difficult for him, but that was point, wasn't it? And she watched him aim and throw his card. After a few seconds, the little bottle in the distance lit up and vanished. She took a few steps closer to him.
It took a guy with great aim to hit something spot-on when it's so far into the distance. She liked him a little more now. "You're good," she nodded in approval, but her tone was still emotionless. A small, almost unnoticable smirk still remained on her face.

"Likewise."
He spoke with a small tip of his hat to the girl. It was obvious the two had impressed each other, her by his aim and he by her throw. It wasn't the first time he had met someone by only a display of powers, but it was definitely one of the more interesting ways he was able to meet people. Which was one of the ways he had met Logan. He turned his full attention to her now, using his cane to kick up the plastic bag which he managed to catch as it was coming down.
"Now that we're introduced through abilities, perhaps names should come next. Remy Lebeau." he said with his usual bow.

Her expression was still emotionless as he bowed. Although throwing really far wasn't her true abilty, it was related to it. She decided that if he was to figure out her true potential, right now wouldn't be the time.
She had also met a lot of people through her travels and never knew their names. She fought some and befriended some, but only few of them had she ever exchanged names with. But she hadn't left the mansion in years, but she was planning on going somewhere different soon. With all the insanity here, it would be nice to get away. The only problem was that they needed her here. She was one of the X-men's best fighters, now that Logan's metal was gone.
"Vin," she said, nodding slightly as he finished his bow. She didn't like her full name, and never introduced herself as such. Most people, even some of the other X-men staff, didn't know her full name. She was just Vin.

"Vin eh? A pleasure. Name's Remy, but folks call me Gambit."
He walked over to a broken stump, sitting down and making himself comfortable. He placed the cane between his legs, propping his hands up on it as he looked to Vin. She was an interesting person to meet so far, and he hadn't met very many people.
"So is your abilities only to throw things great distances, or is there more to you then I've had the pleasure of witnessing?"
