She watched him curiously as he sat on the stump, with the cane between his legs. She sensed through his emotions that he thought she was interesting. No one had ever really thought that about her. Mysterious and emotionless maybe, but not interesting. She was only slightly surprised that he didn't ask about her last name.
"There's more," she said simply. A lot more, she thought. No one had any idea what she could do, except for maybe the professor. But she liked it that way.

"Ah, secretive about abilities?"
He smiled, giving her a wink. He had to admit that being secretive about someone's powers was both a good and a bad. It was good because it ment they didn't know what you would be capable of until it's too late. It was bad because sometimes keeping your powers hidden backfired, and that was something he was familiar with.

She didn't say anything. She wasn't necessarily secretive about them, she just didn't like to talk about them. Anything that brought attention to her, she didn't like. But from her empathy she deciphered what he thought of being secretive about your powers.
"When has keeping your powers hidden backfired?" she asked, cocking one eyebrow. This was answering some of his original question along with a question of her own. She hoped he would be satisfied with this, even though there was still alot more to her than a little bit of mind reading.

"Usually you hide your powers to help people, but often end up getting them hurt more."
He wasn't speaking from experience, but he heard stories of mutants who hid their powers and wound up hurting people they could've helped, or worse yet getting them killed. It's how hard the prejudice affected someone that made them either hide their powers or use them to help or hurt others. He couldn't help but sigh at that thought.
"'tis a cruel world we live in."

She thought a moment as he spoke. She half expected him to ask how she knew he was thinking that. From the bits and pieces of his thoughts that she could pull out from his emotions, he hadn't even thought about it. Yet. She figured he'd think of it later.
It was true, what he was thinking. She would usually advise not to hide their powers, but in this world, today, it wouldn't be a good idea. Humans are afraid of things they don't understand. If they'd stop attacking and get to know a few of them, maybe they would understand.
She nodded, "It is."

He didn't like the silence that came then. It was too quiet and uncomfortable. So he stood and stretched, tucking the bag into a coat pocket and placing his cane behind his back. He looked to Vin, smiling a bit as he did.
"I think I'll go for a walk, perhaps around town or the mansion. Care to join me?"

She watched him as he stood up and stretched. She could tell that he hated silence and found it uncomfortable. Usually she didn't mind silent awkwardness, but it did kind of stand out this time. She had a feeling that he didn't quite know what to make of her. Everyone felt that way when they first met her. Except for a few telepaths here and there, no one really knew her.
She shrugged, as if to say "why not" to his offer. "Sure," she added emotionlessly.

"Alright then, shall we?"
He smiled, turning towards the clearing and heading in a certain direction. He wasn't real sure where they were heading, just chose a path and started walking. He never was one to have a specific place to walk to, even in the mansion. He just enjoyed the stroll that he went on from time to time, and this time he even had company.
"So how long have you been here?"

She followed him. When he went places, she never aimed for a specific place, either. She just followed the road to wherever it led. If she didn't like where she wound up, she'd leave to find another path.
"A long time," she said. She was never one to go into detail, and most people who asked her questions got an answer like this. Most people would even mention it, call her mysterious or something. Now she waited to see what Remy would say about her.

"Yeah, so I hear that's how it is with most of the people in that place."
The path they were on started leading them pass the school, and he gave it a look as they walked past it. The brick wall lined the entire perimeter, barbed wire and camera's lining the top. From outside it almost looked more like a prison then your average school, but he just guessed that it was to keep the haters outside. It was almost heartbreaking to know that such measures and precautions were needed.
"So do you know anything about Logan much?"
His head turned back to Vin when he asked, not trying to sound like he was prying. He had mainly come here to find Logan and help the man out with his memories. Unfortunately he had gotten no luck, even when he went to the lake where Stryder was buried, Canada, and even checking random files. Logan was a mystery that even Logan didn't know the answers to. So he decided to ask a few of the students and faculty instead. He knew he probably wouldn't get anywhere, but it was worth the chance of trying.

She didn't say anything at his comment. It was true, most of the students at the mansion had been there a long time. So she wasn't the only one who hadn't answered him directly. She walked beside him and looked at him curiously for a moment at his question. But then, after managing to read his mind through his emotions, she understood.
"I don't think anyone really does," she admitted. "But I do know you need to stay on his good side."

"Yes, that I can agree on."
He said with a small chuckle. He has had his own confrontations with Logan back in New Orleans, and it mainly left him with a black eye and Logan...well...looking like nothing had happened to him like usual. The man that had attacked them was long gone from what Logan said, and after seeing what happened to the island he had escaped from, he wouldn't put it past Logan to have a bit of a wild temper.
"It's a shame. Perhaps he'll never remember anything. He didn't even remember me when I saw him on that island a couple years back."

"Memories are an interesting thing. And once they're gone they may never come back," she admitted. She knew that Logan was known for his temper. And she also knew that probably even before his lost his memory that he was still easily ticked off, but not being able to remember anything definitely didn't help his anger.
Vin may not seem it, but she was very hopeful. She never lost hope in anyone, not even when things look like the end. So she added, "But that doesn't mean they won't."

"Yes," he said, smiling a bit and looking to her, "One can only hope I guess."
He stayed quiet after that, just enjoying the stroll around the school and where ever else the path he was on took them. He also hoped that Logan would regain his memory one day, and maybe be able to remember who he was and how he got to where he was now. He just hoped that Logan remembered their short time together as well, both the battle and the flight to the island.

She nodded and looked forward again as they walked. She was quiet too. She was never very talkative, and liked silence. And this time it wasn't awkward either. She hadn't taken a walk when she wasn't alone in years. It was actually kind of nice, even if it was with an almost complete stranger.
But, if this man was one of Logan's friends, or somewhat friend, from his past, he couldn't be all bad. And he was different than most other strangers she met in a way that she couldn't really explain.
"If you're still curious," she said, but she knew he was. "I would be willing to show you me real abilities." So it was obviously much much more than just throwing things really far and fast.
