He was also enjoying the silence, never one to pass up a good stroll. He may have come from the city, but being a Cajun always ment he needed to get out and do things. He listened to the sounds around him, looking to Vin who also seemed to be enjoying the peace and quiet. But when she spoke of his curiosity, he didn't think much of it.
However it caused him to think more on her ability again. He thought back to when they met, her throw causing the bottle to launch almost too far for him to aim. That caused his curiosity about her powers to grow back. He looked to her, giving a small nod of his head.
"I wouldn't mind a stration."

She smirked slightly and looked back at him. She motioned for him to stop walking and she kept going to the other side of the path. She was at least thirty yards away from him. "Pretend I'm one of your bottles," she said, "and throw one of your cards at me."
By the look on her face, you could see that she wanted the card to be charged. So, unless she could stop it before it reached her, she'd be blown to bits just like his bottles. But she was confident, and hoped he wouldn't be the type to be hesitant about hurting her. She hated to be underestimated, although sometimes it made a good advantage.

"You want me to throw a card at you?"
He stopped when she told him to, watching her take a few steps ahead of him and then turn around. What she said almost made him stop, not sure how he would take the information. He was never one to attack a lady, let alone use his powers against her. But she had mentioned before about not underestimating her.
"Alright, if you insist."
He opened his hand up, a card falling from his sleeve to his hand. His eyes began to glow red as he focused on her, the card in his hand glowing as well. He drew his hand back and threw the card, aiming it directly at Vin, and hoping he wasn't making a big mistake.

She nodded when he asked to clarify. She pulled out of his emotions that he really didn't want to, but she had told him about underestimating her. Aparently that worked, because she saw the card in his hand light up in unison with his eyes.
She'd sensed from before the type of energy his powers involved that made the card explosive. Fortunately, it was a type of energy she was very familiar with. The didn't even budge as the deadly card shot toward her at an extremely fast speed. But she wasn't worried. She held out her hand and the card flew right into it.
But the card didn't explode. It just rested in her hand, and it's glow faded away. She looked at him then, waiting for his reaction, smirking slightly.

He had expected her to move out of the way when the card flew, but she just stood there, holding out her hand. She's gonna lose that hand he thought to himself, but she didn't seem the least bit worried when the card got closer. It suddenly hit her hand, and he was expecting an explosion, an arm being broken and her flying backwards.
But instead she stood there, holding the card, and the energy he put into it fading. His eyes returned to normal and he just stood there, his mouth hanging wide open. He didn't know what kind of power that was, but he realized then that it was a good thing she was good. Otherwise he would be in trouble for sure.
"How...How did you do that?"

Lose my hand, will I? she thought it reply to his own. After all the years she'd spent training with the X-men, she could almost always pull people's thoughts out of their emotions. But she hated it when people thought she was a telepath.
She was very satisfied with his reaction. She wasn't one to want attention, but she did love surprising people. And if that gawking face wasn't surprised, she didn't know what was. She just chuckled once to herself and tossed the card back to him, and it appeared completely untouched.
Vin walked back over to him as she answered his question. "I manipulate energy... and the type of energy you use on your cards is a very simple one to control."

"I have to say, that's the first time that's ever happened."
The card, when released, floated through the air a bit before landing on the ground. After she had taken the energy from the object, it was just an ordinary thing now. When she walked back to him, telling him about her powers, he smiled and continued their walk, stopping only to pick up his card. He could use energy, and she could manipulate it. He had to admit that was an interesting combination if put to the test.
"You are surely one of a kind, Vin." he said, giving her a smile.

She agreed with his thoughts. They would definitely make an interesting combination. And in a fight, he couldn't hurt her unless he caught her off guard, but his powers were faster and probably easier to control than hers. Maybe they should test it out sometime.
She smiled back at him slightly when he complimented her. Usually the only compliments she got were something like "mysterious" or something, never one of a kind. The smile was probably the most emotions she'd shown in a while. She looked at him for a moment, "So are you."

"Indeed. We seem to be quite the pair."
He smiled as their walk continued. He continued to look around the land, letting the silence once again be drowned out only by birds and the noise from the school. He couldn't help but wonder what it would've been like growing up that way. Happy and cheerful inside a school, within grounds where nobody cared what your powers were or whether you were a mutant or not. It was a life he was denied, but had gotten use to over the years.

She nodded and couldn't help but pull his thoughts from his emtions. She could usually ignore them for the most part, but for some reason his kept getting her attention. She looked at him as he thought about the school.
"The students here are lucky," she agreed. "They have no idea what it's like to grow up out there, unwanted and mistreated just for being who you are."

"Now I'm more curious about you. You seem to know exactly what I'm thinking when I think it. Are you another like that Xavier gentleman?"
He wasn't sure on the word for it, all he knew is it was some technical/scientific word used to describe mental powers. To him it was just something the people made up to describe something they didn't understand, just like they did when they came up with calling people like him and Vin mutants.

She smirked slightly. "Not exactly," she shook her head, looking forward again. "Charles reads minds, I read emotions. Emotions are usually attached to thoughts."
She left out the part where she could also change other's emotions, but she figured that wasn't very important unless he asked for details. A lot of people asked for details, and she never minded explaining into further detail. But she always liked pulling people's thoughts out of their feelings. It kept her interest more than the conversation usually. In this case, though, with Remy, the conversation was just as entertaining as his thoughts.

"Hm, I guess that comes in handy sometimes."
He smirked back at her, glad she had met up with him in the woods. The walk was becoming very enjoyable, and she was becoming excellent company. He placed his hands behind his back and looked around some more.
"I'm beginnin' to get a bit of an appetite. Care to join me for a meal?"

Vin nodded, "It does."
She was also enjoying the walk back through the woods. It was rare when she found someone who was willing to keep her company. Usually they just found her strange... emotionless. But, that was what she wanted them to think of her. She knew everyone's emotions that she'd ever crossed paths with, and more than half of them were depressing. Being emotionless herself was the only way she could find to cope with it.
She looked back at him when he spoke again, nodding slowly, "Sure."
