Danielle's reaction wasn't a surprise, her whole body violently jumped when she heard his voice. Great. He'd looked when her attention had been elsewhere. "Not for long." She had hold of her book now, inching away once more. She'd almost expected him to react in a more violent manner when he realized she was there. But no, he seemed completely unconcerned. Okay.... that was a little odd.
She rolled her eyes a little, still creeping farther and farther away. With any luck he'd just stay there, and she'd be able to go back to her dreary, boring day with out any mishaps. She sighed now, shaking her head as she tucked her book between her arms.

*Shakaku reached up on his chest and took the small fur ball off it, after doing this he sat up and looked at her.*
So you did come for the book. I thought you came here to see if you could have another run in with me.
*He didn't feel that way, he knew that she wouldn't talk to him even if he was the last guy on earth and she was the last girl, especialy if that was the case. He knew that no girl would ever fall for a guy like him, so why try. Why even try to flirt with a girl, or even wast time thinking girls were cute.*

"So you were waiting?" That was probably doubtful, he'd probably just noticed it not to long ago, otherwise he would have had it much closer. If he'd wanted to use it to get her to come find him, he would have had some scheme up his sleeve. So far at least he wasn't getting on her nerves, that was always a good thing.
"Why would I want 'another run in'? Once was more then enough. I just came back for my book." Why was he acting so differently then he had before.. She gazed down at him, her expression difficult to read. "You may enjoy bullying me like everyone else, but you should know better by now. You're just going to get hurt like everyone else." Sure, she might have said to much, but it was a warning. Whether she intended to hurt him or not, he wouldn't know the risk at least. And hopefully, if he was smart, he'd just leave her alone.

Calm down, I've had my fun.
*Yup, no girl would ever go to him. It's because his first reaction is to instantly bully or say something rude. No girl liked that. The words sometimes just came out. That was why he only had one really good friend at the school that wasn't Furai. Kaitou, and that was because they both liked to prank people. Even if Shakaku brought it to far sometimes.*

"Good."
Danielle was a little relieved he wouldn't harass her, for once. Still... He really did seem different today, very different. Was it just the presence of his pet squirrel that was having him such a change? It made no sense.... No one made sense to her, actually. It was unlikely he'd noticed it though, but if he'd asked around the school he wouldn't find a single person that could put a name to her face...
She moved several steps away, her thoughts wandered. She'd never talked with someone for this long. She'd never gotten to a point where she could recognize someone. Great. Even if it wasn't a good relationship, there was still a relationship between them. Best he just moved on. "You should probably forget about me." She took a few more steps away...

*Shakaku was also lost in thought. Thinking about the winter, and now lonely it always was. Plus cold weather always made him get in a bad mood, well worse than usual. But when she spoke Shakaku got a smile on his face. He looked up at Nezumi with the normal mischivious look on his face.*
I never said I was done with you. Your still more fun than a normal week mouse like students, Nezumi.
*It wasn't her real name but it was the name that he put with her face, at least for now.*

Danielle stopped mid step, turning back to stare darkly at him. It really had been to good to last. He was already back to normal.... well normal for him. Not normal for most people. "I think you are. So just find someone else to go play with." Again, she turned her away from him, in whatever direction it took her. It happened to take her even farther from the school then before. She didn't care though.
She wandered for who knew how long, she lost track of time. Before she knew it she was deep in the woods, farther then she'd ever been before. She finally stopped, her gaze slowly wandering and her curiosity rising. Now where the hell was she?

*Shakaku watched her go into the woods. Once he couldn't see her anymore he layed back down. There were plenty of the students who went into the forest. Christy lived there, most the time. Lots of students took horses out there. The thought didn't even pass his mind that she didn't know her way, or would get lost.*

If only being lost was the end of her troubles. It wasn't like the forest was huge and she'd spend days lost out there, after all! Maybe a couple hours. But, that'd be several hours spent mindlessly wandering....And it'd be several hours away from other people! That made things a lot better. She didn't have to even think about that nameless bully! Maybe being lost was a lot better then she'd first thought.
Back at the school, things were getting... interesting. Several X-men were out on the grounds, gathering up students to bring them in. When asked what was going on, their answers were short, that some Mutant bounty hunters had been seen in the area, and the school was taking some precautions until they left. One of the X-men had run out to the stables and alerted all the students near it, including Shakaku, ordering them to return to the school asap....

*Shakaku heart the order and sighed. It was such a nice day, and he entire point of going somewhere where little students went, was to be ALONE!*
I'll be there in a bit.
*He knew not to fight with the "authority" of the school. But as he sat up his eyes wondered to the forest. If there was a bounty hunter around, the best place to hide would be the forest. Now Shakaku wasn't looking for a fight, and didn't want to protect the school. But his mind wondered to Nezumi, on how she wondered off into the forest. She had a strong power, but once she used it she would probably be incompatibility much longer than the hunter was. Once the X-man who was warning everyone was out of sight, or atleast not looking, Shakaku started to head towards the forest. All along thinking "Nezumi you are like a cat."*

If Danielle had known about the current situation, she might have hid, and waited until one of the X-men came out to find her. Mutant Bounty Hunters didn't care how old, or powerful a mutant was. They'd go after little kids if it meant they'd get paid. And a lot of organizations would pay quite a bit of money to take or, or capture, mutants of a certain age group. One of the top targeted ages? Teens. When they're powers were still growing and they could be over powered.
Danielle just wandered the woods, her gaze lazy as it wandered from the tree tops to the dirt at her feet. Her book was safely stashed in her small purse, barely large enough to fit the book. The only other things in the purse were essentials that she might need on a daily use, nothing at all that could prepare her for being lost in the woods.
Close to a half an hour had passed, or so she'd guess. It wasn't like she was wearing a watch or anything! She didn't care though. Time away from the school for any amount of time was fine with her. Well... As long as something bad didn't happen....
Something slammed into the back of her head...
By the time Danielle came back to her senses, she wasn't sure where she was, or what had happened. All she knew was that she a chain ran around her, so tightly it hurt to even breath, locking her to what was probably a tree from the rough bark against her back. The second thing she realized was that her head absolutely killed, and something that had probably been originally a liquid was caked to her hair, running down the sides of her neck... Blood probably.
A man on a phone was the only sound she heard, his voice deep, a heavy accent making it hard for her to understand what he was even saying. A few moments passed, and he hung up, his attention finally turning to the finally waking girl. He didn't seem at all concerned with her disorientation, or the injury he'd caused. Danielle, seeing his attention on her, knew she had to do something. Sitting here and being a 'damsel in distress' was not part of who she was. When she reached out to assault the man's bones though.... Her head started pounding even more, to the point that she almost blacked out again. What ever he'd hit her with, he'd hit her dang near hard enough to scramble her head so much she couldn't even think properly, let alone use her power!

*Shakaku was wondering around, as sneaky as possible. When he heard a mans voice. By what he was saying he sounded like a mutant hunter. He sneaked up to see a man and little Nezumi. She was good about getting into trouble wasn't she? He slowly started to make his way around to the back of the tree she was chained to. he could melt the chain's, then detract the guy, at lest that sounded like a good plan, made up on the fly. He made it to the back side of the tree and started to heat one of the links of the chain. He was making his plan up as he went, but luckily he knew how to fight, and use his power well. He wouldn't let them take his Nezumi. No one torments her, except him. He also stayed focused on heat around him. Just in case someone tried to sneak up from behind.*

The longer Danielle was conscious the worse her head started pounding. God, why did they always have to go for the head?! Had these people ever been struck across the back of their skull before? It hurt like hell! Not as much as their skeleton tearing them apart from the inside though...
Her whole body felt limp, so it really was her only chance. If she could force herself to use her power, she could escape.... Or at least get rid of him so the school could find her later.. If she'd known that the one person to come after her would be that Asian bully.... She might have just let herself be taken. Why would he help anyway? He'd probably rejoice he was finally rid of her!
The bounty hunter wasn't that talkative, at least towards Danielle. He'd dialed another number on his phone, pressing it to his ear and turning away from her as he spoke once more. Again, she couldn't make out more then a few words with his thick accent.
She had to get rid of him! She'd already gone through Hell and back once before, she wasn't going to do it again! Even though her head was splitting, so much that she could barely raise her head, she reached out. It wasn't anger that drove her to be so reckless though, it was desperation. No matter how much it hurt, or how much she just wanted to close her eyes and forget everything, if she didn't stop him, bad things would happen. And no one was around but him. No one would have to know...
It took every part of her will to even get a grasp of the marrow in his bones, but that wouldn't be enough. No one could feel her just touching the bone. Ribs were always good to go after. If she could force one to break, she could puncture something important, and they'd be dead before they realized what happened.
The bad part was... Ribs really hurt, seeing as she'd be sharing the pain.... But she already had a headache that left her barely conscious! Why be careful about something so trivial?
The crack was loud, loud enough even Shakaku would hear, as one of the man's ribs snapped. He let out a grunt, hand to his chest, as he turned towards Danielle. She didn't make a sound as she felt the pain, though as shocking as it was, she seemed to grow even paler. She'd missed...

*Shakaku heard the snap and the man's grunt. He peeped to quickly see what was happening and he saw the man coming closer. He thought fast and started to heat the man's insides. He colapsed with pain, but Shakaku had to focuse. He grabbed a hard rock and started to bang it on the weakened chain. Once it broke the entire chain went limp from around Nezumi. He knew that he would have to fight the guy and didn't want Nezumi to get in the way.*
Get out of here.
*He spoke quietly, hoping that the man didn't hear. Part of him hoped that she didn't recognize his voice, because then she would never let him live this down.*

The chain wasn't the only thing that went limp when it broke. Danielle didn't even move when she felt it break, her breaths were short gasps, her eyes wide as wave after wave of pain stabbed through her chest. On top of that, her headache had almost made her black out again.
Hearing a voice from around the tree though made her try to focus on it instead of the pain. Who was that? It sounded familiar, but she couldn't pinpoint who it was.... What was it he'd said? She couldn't separate the words, the sounds coming from the unknown savior were nothing more then... Well sounds to her!
