Christy thought and closed her eyes a moment. She was very good at picturing things in her mind. She estimated where the middle of the city was in her mind-map, and then opened her eyes again. "Then follow me."
And with that, she headed off toward the front entrace of the courtyard. There weren't that many people out, so she figured she could get away. She knew that Hazel and Hank wouldn't be very excited if they found out, but techincally she was quilified now to take a student of campus if she wanted to. She didn't know if "student" applied to Chez, it prbably didn't, but she wasn't about to let that bother her.

*Chez nodded and followed her. This is strange, I've never relied on someone like this. It was partially because he found that the best way to survive alone, is to trust little. Most of the time he trusted no one. That was why he was always on his guard. He never knew when someone would attack. He was worried about Christy getting trouble but she said not to. So that thought went away. He just wanted to get his stuff and get out of there. A part of him didn't want Christy to see where he had been staying for the past few weeks. But now it was far to late to think about that.*

Lots of thoughts flew through Christy's head as she led him toward the front gate. She needed to lead him to and from wherever he stayed personally. She'd have to be like his bodyguard to make sure he got in and out safe, or else then she really would get in trouble. At least with Hazel and Hank if nobody else.
But as she thought about it, she began to worry that Chez didn't want her to see his things. It was probably embarrassing. Since he was homeless, he didn't have much and the place he stayed might've been a complete wreck. Christina determined herself not to give him that sympathetic look again though, he clearly didn't want it. She was would never judge him.
As they approached the gate, she looked at the ground a moment. The gate was usually locked, and even if it wasn't locked, it was alot more fun to do it her way. She pushed her fist downward, like she was punching an invisible wall below her, and the ground in front of them immediately caved in and reopened on the other side of the gate. She motioned to Chez to go first, "After you."

*Chez was very shocked at what Christy did, this was amazing. He looked at her when she spoke, he smiled. He did think of evaporating when he saw the gate locked but was happy to go her way, insted of possibly hurting more.*
*Once out Chez waited for Christy to follow. He looked around, this place was nice. Even the outside of the boundries was nice. He would never dream of staying in a place like this. It realy was perfect.*
How long have you lived here?

Christy followed him and with another flick of her wrist, the hole refilled itself, seeming untouched. She looked back to him when he asked her, and she thought a moment before answering. She began walking toward inner city as she explained.
"A long time. I lived not far from here when I was growing up, and I discovered my powers on my own when our family went on a trip to California. Happened to be an earthquake when I was there. I saved everyone with my earth abilities when they randomly appeared before we were all crushed. Almost everyone..." she hesitated a moment before continuing. "A few years later, I heard about this place and found my way here. I was maybe twelve. I found my plant powers in the garden around the same time."
She knew he hadn't asked for her whole life story, but she didn't mind sharing it. She had nothing to hide, and Chez actually seemed interested. No one else was ever that interested in her, probably because everyone else had amazing powers of their own, and were friends with other incredible mutants. Clearly Chez didn't know many, so it wasn't surprising he was so impressed by Christy's hole underneath the gate.

*Chez loved to listened to her story, it was amazing. Saving lots of people by her power. He couldn't do something like that.*
My story isn't as amazing as that.
*He realized that every mutant had a story, well at least almost every mutant. His just happened to also explain why he was alone, and didn't belong anywhere.*

Christina slowed down so she was walking at the same pace as him then and looked at him curiously. "I doubt that... so what's your story?" If his power was evaporating, it couldn't be boring, anyway.
She couldn't help but be curious, especially with his mysterious silence. Of course, she would want to here his story even if he didn't have something mysterious about him. She was just naturally curious, but she tried not to cross people's privacy boundaries. She only hoped she didn't sound nosy as she asked Chez about his story.

*Chez thought, how was the best way to explain it.*
Well, I didn't save anyone special by it, like you. I only know what I've been told, from the adults, because I was an infant.
*He paused for a bit, remembering all the newspaper clipings he had read about it.*
My parents and I were in a bad car crash where the car exploded. Someone on the recovery team saw me safely on the side of the road a good distence from the car crash. After some digging they found that I was actaly in the car.
*He skiped, in his mind to the orphanage.*
Since my parents were only children they didn't have any living relatives so I was put into an orphanage. I eventualy found out about my powers and kept praticing. But somehow the other kids found out about my past and I was the freak of them all.
*Because of this, Chez didn't know what having a friend felt like. Also he hasn't been good at comunicating, most of the time.*
So I ran way and That was that. I've been alone ever since.

Now Christy felt really bad. Poor Chez... "So... you've never really had a friend before?"
Obviously the orphanage kids were mean, so she really didn't blame him for running away. She didn't know what she'd ever do to lose her whole family like that, and have no one else to go to. She sighed. "Well, consider me as your first real friend," she smiled at him then. "And I'm sure you can find more of them here. We're all freaks."
She shrugged slightly, "Here, the freaks are normal," she smirked slightly then. "And the normal are freaks."

*Chez thought of if he did ever have a friend.*
I might have had one befor they all turned on me, but I can't remember.
*His smile returned at what Christy had to say. She was nice, was this how friends acted with eachother? He might actualy belong here. From the five people he had met that lived at the school, they were all nice, and they all seemed to have powers like him. Maybe he could stay there, to see if he did belong there.*
Thanks
*Just the thought of having someone to rely on seemed to lift Chez's spirits up eminsly. He wasn't sure how easy it would be getting used to depending on others, he had spent so much time depending only on his talents.*

Friends turning on you... never fun. She sighed. Chez had had a seriously tough life that no one should have to go through. Christy hated it for him, but knew if he stayed at the mansion that everything would suddenly be different for him. And after depending on himself, she could guess that it would take some time to get used to the life style here. No one only depended on themselves here. Everyone depended on everyone at least once, but usually the students just relied on the teachers and staff.
She looked at him when he thanked her a nodded a welcome back to him. By now they'd basically made it into the city. "So, where are your possessions kept?"

*Chez looked around to see if he recognized his soundings. He did, this was around where he had stayed before the place he was now. Chez nodded and took the lead. He walked a few blocks away to where a few houses were. There was, in between two houses, a place where a few trash cans were. The two fences made a kind of ally way. Chez moved behind the trash cans and walked a little ways. He looked at his jacket, rolled up like a pillow, in the middle of the wrap was his extra shirt. There was an old plastic bat that ants were marching in and out of it, taking small pieces of bread.*
Well it looks like the ants are making due with the food I was going to eat that night.
*He then picked up the roll and looked at Christy.*
Sorry for making you come all the way out here. I know it's not lots, but it's kind of all I have.

Christy followed him, watching as he moved the trash cans out of the way to get through. He stayed in a little trash can alley...? She gnawed her lip, feeling kind of awkward then. And then he commented about the ants. It was true and... kind of gross, but it took more than a few hungry ants to disgust Christina.
"It's no problem at all," she understood why he would want the only few things that he ever had. "I completely understand. They're your things, you have a right to want to get them. Now let's get back to the mansion before Hazel finds you missing."

*Right, Chez had forgoten about that. He was kind of having fun with Christy. She was one of the nicest people he had ever met. He made his way back past the trash cans, placing them where they were before.*
Yea, I don't want any more trouble.
*He smiled at her and started to head back towards where the mansion was.*

Christy followed him back toward the mansion. She hated that he only had a few possessions to call his own. She'd never really realized before how lucky she was. Now she knew she'd never take anything for granted again. But she also hoped that Chez would stay at the mansion longer than he seemed to want to. If he could get used to their lifestyle, which she didn't think would take long with a little help, he could really make great friends here. But she supposed he wouldn't know a great friend when he met one, since he'd never seen one before...
So they just walked in silence, and she had to admit she'd never felt so comfortable in silence before. Usually it was awkward, but it wasn't that bad this time. It kind of surprised her. But that didn't mean that Chez wasn't uncomfortable from the silence, though. She hoped he wasn't.
