He sighed, shaking his head at the picture. The girl looked too young to even be out of school, let alone put up in some show where people can gawk at her. He couldn't help a twinge of irritation as he thought about all the others like him being treated like outcasts, puppets, or even lab rats. He was starting to clench his fists when he felt someone pawing at his leg. Looking down, he was brought back to the present by his furry friend looking up at him.
"Sorry, pal. Got carried away there I guess."
Picking his furry companion up and tucking it warmly in his coat, he took one last look at the map before starting off in the direction of the hotel located where his unusual friend pawed at. This cat was definitely not like any other cat he's ever seen. The animal seemed smarter than most cats he's been around, and he's had a few growing up. The closer they got to the hotel, the more his friend began to stir. He couldn't help but laugh a little at how restless his little friend was becoming.
"Hold on. We're almost there."

Kristy kept moving around in his coat she really wanted to see what it looks like inside the hotels. people inside them all the time and they came out of them and no one ever stayed there very long there also seems to be all sorts of people that went inside businessmen, children, family, and tour groups. she couldn't stand still when he checked inshe wanted to see what people did who was inside. When they got in the room kristy jumped out on to the bed and lookedbaround shebran around the room a few dozen time's smelling everything how many people had been in this one little room she ran around the room a few more times before she curled up on to the bed yawning turkered out from runing around so much. It wasnt was she expected but at lest there was the nices fluffyest bed she ever seen. she layed down and fell asleep but as she did she turned back into her human form the frail little body laying there curled up just like youd expect from a small child who was takeing a nap after play time

It was hard to get a hotel room for the night with a ball of fur moving around in your coat, but somehow he managed. After they entered the room, he locked the door and closed the curtains so nobody would see that he had a cat in his room. He couldn't help but laugh a little as his little friend ran around sniffing everything it could.
He headed into the bathroom for a bit, and then came out. It was then he noticed that his little friend wasn't only sleeping, but it, or she as he now noticed, was humanoid. She still had the ears and the cat like features, but she was still human. He immediately went to the phone, trying to remember the number he saw on the poster. It was her, the girl that the show was looking for.
Wait a sec, he thought, moving his hand from the phone and looking to his new roommate, if she was as dangerous as they said, then how come she didn't attack him at all? She kept him company, helped him find food and shelter, and there was plenty of times she could strike out at him but didn't. He walked over to the bed across from her and sat down just looking at her. She seemed so small and innocent, how can she be dangerous.

"Have a nice nap?"
He smiled as she sat up in bed, averting his eyes so he wouldn't see her. One thing he noticed about her change, she didn't have anything on when she had turned into a human. His smile faded when she suddenly looked frightened and ran towards the window.
"Hey it's alright, don't be afraid."
He got up and walked towards her, but she moved to the door. Thinking quickly, he took his jacket and draped it over her shoulders as she tried to get the door to open. He couldn't help but smile at her efforts.
"I'm not going to hurt you. Besides, I don't think it'd be a good idea to go outside without anything to wear. If I wanted to hurt you, don't you think I would've done it already? So come on, have a seat and let's chat for a bit."
He held out a hand for her to take. He didn't care if she took it or not, and if she clawed him, well...she'd find out she wasn't the only different person in the hotel room. Scratches and minor harm to himself tend to heal fairly quickly.

Kristys eyes were wide as she struggled to try to get the door open when she felt the coat draped over her she flinched her mind racing at the things it chould be a net a straight jacket. The words the man spoke were going in one ear and out of the other, no not all people hurt right away he could of wanted her up for what he was going to do, maybe portend to be nice then when her gard was down take her back.
she turned around and just looked at the mans hand her eyes still wide with fear it wasn't supost to go wrong she didn't want to get hurt again. Her eyes meet his when she looked up she was shacking so hard with fear she wraped the jacket around her clinging to it her claws digging into it mostly out of fear she felt she needed her claws out she didn't want to hurt the guy and she didn't think she could she promised her self she never hurt anyone again she didn't want to be a monster like they all said she was.

He couldn't help but feel more than a little ashamed he even thought about picking up the phone. Yes she was different, especially by visual and physical standards, but deep down she was a child. One that was frightened of something, or someone. He hoped it wasn't him. Looking over at the window, he couldn't help but notice the curtains were open. Getting up, he walked over and closed the curtains, then walked back and sat on the bed, looking at her with a sympathetic smile.
"I guess I should introduce myself. My name's David, but friend's call me Dave. You don't have to be afraid of me, I'm not going to hurt you, and I know you don't want to hurt me. If either of us wanted to, I'm sure we both had plenty of opportunities to do that."
He had to think of a way that she wouldn't be afraid of him. He couldn't think of anything until he noticed himself. He was different, and even could prove it without looking like he was going to hurt her.
"Look, you're not the only one that's different, ok? I may not look it, but I guess you could say I'm a mutant."
Getting up off the bed, he turned and faced the bed, bent down, picked it up over his head with no problems, and set it back down. He then sat on it, looked to her and smiled a little.
"I'm not going to hurt someone who's different like me. My dad always told me we're all equal, no matter how we look inside and out."

Kristy just what does he tried to explain that he wasn't going to hurt he she didn't believe him people did hurt people after getting them to trust them for all she new the second she trust him she be hurt again. Her eyes didn't leave his still filled with fear she just stood there in the corner shacking.
she watched as he picked up the bed with ease then set it down and before the bed was set down kristy was hiding in the closet leaving the jacket behind turning into a small gray cat that some what matched the floor hoping he had not seen her run past.
He could hurt her and not even try snap her like a twig she meet other mutants and no she was a monster not mutant no one was like her. She just hoped that he wouldn't find her and that when he went to bed she could escape. Go and forget she ever was in a hotel room and a super strong mutant was there. She shivered at what could happen if he found her this wasn't the best hide out but with her ears down and tail tucked the way she was she almost looked like a part of the floor that was a large lump.

He couldn't help but feel sorry for lifting the bed. Maybe it was overboard, but he thought that it would help her calm down. Help her see that he wasn't an enemy, but instead it drove her away. He sighed sadly and laid back on the bed, staring up at the ceiling.
"Well...this day gets better and better."
Trying to think of what to do, he couldn't help but feel a little hungry. He knew it was too early to think about something for dinner, so he sat back up and looked for his bag that he set at the foot of the bed. Reaching down, he unzipped the bag and looked into it, taking out various clothes and hygiene items until he found what he was looking for. Taking out a small plastic bag, he looked at it and smiled. Inside were four chocolate chip cookies he had taken with him on his trip to New York. Opening the bag he smelled the fragrance of home cooking. His stomach grumbled a little in agreement as he took out one of the cookies and bit into it. He couldn't help the small moan that escaped him as he tasted the flavor of home.

Kristy curled up there for awhile shacking she didn't know what to do she was stuck he was just on the bed he wasn't leaving how was she going to get past him. She stepped a little forward to watch him as he layed there on the bed maybe if he stayed laying she at lest could of gotten closer to the door or the bed.
she stepped out of the closet and crawled toward the door as quickly and quietly as she could she was about 1/2 across the room when he sat back up and looked in his bag. she froze her eyes fixed on him and the bag not knowing if he had seen her yet. He could of pulled out a knife or a gun anything...but he pulled out cookies she sniffed the air a bit when she smelled them they seemed fine. nothing wrong with them. she stared for a bit before she remeberd she was trying to get out.
She slowly started to move toward a hiding spot this time under the couch in the room it was closer to the door and if she pissioned her self right she may be able to bolt as soon as he opened the door.

He couldn't help but smile as he watched the cat scurry from the closet to under the couch. He wasn't sure what all this was about, but he knew it had to do with him somehow. He set the bag of cookies on the bed and continued to eat the one he had in his hand. After finishing the first one, he took another. Taking a bite out of that, he left two in the bag, sitting on the bed.
"boy these cookies are good. Sure wish I had someone to share them with though."
Hoping his little sentence worked, he took the last two cookies out and placed them on top of the bag, letting the smell of the cookies out into the open. He continued to eat the one he had in his hand before grabbing the remote and turning on the tv. He wondered if this hotel had some sort of music channel he could listen to. He doubted it though, knowing that hotels didn't have a good amount of channels. He began flipping through channels until he found something he could watch. Unfortunately all that he could find were news and reality shows.

Kristy hid under the couch she was planning on weighting him out. He have to leave someday and it wasn't like she hadn't gone with out food for a few days. Her large eyes watched him as he pulled out more cookies and invited her to eat them. She weighted for what felt like a life time before she moved out and hoped on the bed still as a gray cat. She blinked up at him her hair on end watching for anything he might do she didn't want to get caught in a trap because of this guy.
She sniffed the cookie a bit making sure it was good maybe this guy would be dumb and think she was another cat because she was now gray not black. She could always hope for that. It be better then him thinking she was a monster.
