Lorleina had been up since before the sun had risen. She had watched it with her blue-green eyes from the top of a tree with her ring tailed lemur, Lolo, sitting on her shoulder. The green leaves had made little green patterns on her skin as the morning light shown through them. The dew made rainbows everywhere. It was all quite beautiful.
Lorleina loved the mornings with all of it's first beauty and magic. She was always up before the sun was and she always sat in the sat tree watching it. She was surprised that she hadn't worn a path in the bark by now.
Now that the sun was rising in the sky she stood up on the branch she was sitting on and grabbed onto a branch with her hands. The little hairs already growing out and grabbing on letting her stick slightly. Lolo had already jumped off her shoulder and was making his way down. Lorleina was not far behind him jumping from branch to branch just as easily as he was. Her feet soon hit the ground and she was walking towards a small thicket of bushes and trees that was right behind the animals' enclosures.
This was their spot. Her and Rowan's. They had been seeing each other for the past two months now but it had all been sneaking around. Rowan was promised to someone else. He was the eldest of the Fury children, only a couple more months older than she was. But Lorleina couldn't help it. She had loved him from the moment she had met him when she was first adopted into the Fury Family. It had been a school girl crush back then being that she was only five years old. They had teased each other and it had ended in a fight now and again but as they grew older Lorleina realized her feelings were developing into stronger emotions. It wasn't until he had kissed her for the first time that she realized that she loved him.
The brunette Gypsy leaned against a tree and scratched behind Lolo's ear as the lemur jumped up on a branch next to her. The sun glowing through the leaves once again. her mind racing as she waited.

The sun was rising and Rowan was already set to work. While everyone still slept, he was watering and feeding the animals. There were plenty that he might as well start early to make sure they were all taken care of in enough time for him to do other things. His hand brushed over a horse's nose as it ate from the bucket he just placed before it. He had only worn a pair of jeans and a dark green tank top while he did his morning chores.
His mind was in a million places at once. Most of the prep upon the circus grounds was done so that was a load off of his mind. Now they just had to maintain the area, which really was easier than settling everyone in. It took probably longer than it should have to remind himself he was supposed to meet someone before the day really began. And just as he turned his attention from the horse to head in that direction he felt like someone was watching him. Turning around he found himself face to face with one of their elephants. He frowned at her. "An what are ye doin here?" The elephant acted like nothing was out of place as she used her trunk to pluck hay from the horses that had been fed already. Rowan glanced down and saw that she had moved her stake down to where she was now. "why ain'ye a clever lass. To bad yer goin' back." Rowan smirked as the elphant complained in a whiney rumble type noise as he grabbed the stake that was connected to the chain to the elphant's leg. "Come on." He urged her to follow him as he led her back to where the other elephant was. "Now stay here and Ah'll bring ye a treat." The elephant seemed contented by the promise and he was free once more, though he'd have to keep an eye on her. If she was being this...challenging today then there was a possibility there could be problems.
His thoughts drifted back to the person he was to meet just past the treeline from the animal pens. He really didn't like having to sneak around but his parents were fairly adament that he'd marry the person they intended him to marry. Sure she wasn't that bad of a girl, but arranged marriages were things of the past. At least he thought they were until he, as the closest heir of the Fury empire, needed to marry someone that would continue the 'strong' family line. He was all for providing and improving the family, but did it really come down to that?
But then there was Lorleina, a girl he spent most of his life with already. A girl that was no different than his own sisters to him until recently. Something just seemed to click...
Finally he walked through the trees and saw her leaning against a tree with that lemer of hers. "'ey.." He assumed he was late, but there really was no point in apologizing. Things always seemed to come up and cause a delay for him.

Lorleina was so lost in her thoughts that she hadn't heard Rowan enter the thicket. Lolo did though. The lemur's hearing was so keen he had probably heard him before he even reached the thicket. The lemur jumped down off of the tree it had been sitting upon and walked over to Rowan, climbing up his leg and sitting on his shoulder as his tail draped around him. Lolo had always liked Rowan ever since he met him. Every time Lorleina and Rowan were together Lolo would go and sit with Rowan rather than Lorleina.
The brunettes eyes turned as Lolo ran off and then she caught sight of him. Standing there in only jeans and a green tank top. He had been a little late but she didn't mind waiting for him. He had obviously been working and she knew his job came first sometimes. Her blue-green eyes took him in. She was seeing him in a whole different light now. She only wished that they didn't have to sneak around. She hated hiding her feelings and walking around like she was walking on a mine field waiting for the bomb to explode. It was bound to happen. They couldn't hide this forever. What would happen when his wedding finally came up? What were they going to do? That was what she had been thinking about all morning.
She turned and walked over to him. Her long flowing skirt blew in the wind. She was wearing a white off the shoulder top with a blue skirt and brown boots. She really did look like a gypsy at that moment. Once she reached him she smiled up at him and laced her fingers with his. She knew he could probably tell that something was wrong but she still tried to hide it.
"Hi."

Rowan smirked as Lolo climbed up his body to perch on his shoulder. He reached his hand up to scratch the Lemur along his cheek and chin for a moment before his attention returned to Lorleina.
His hand squeezed her own while she laced fingers with his. He knew that there was something on her mind and he also figured that he knew what it was. He wanted to think of something to distract her mind for the moment but he wasn't really good with such things. But in a spur of the moment idea he used his hand to pull her towards him and let her stand right infront of him. He used his free hand to brush a few strands of her hair from her face. His eyes met with hers and he smiled to her. It was funny how his sister still tormented him with the whole 'no woman' thing but he did have one. Unfortunately they had to keep it to themselves for the time being. Rowan really didn't blame her for the way she felt but he really had no options...at the moment. Eventually he was going to have to make a tough decision but he kept putting it off...

She watched Rowan as he scratched Lolo behind the ear. A small smile came to her lips as she watched them. The lemur made a contented noise and nuzzled Rowan's hand as he was scratched. She felt Rowan squeeze her hand and she just looked down at it as it was intertwined with hers. It was like her hand fit perfectly into his. Like it was meant to be there. There was no open space to see. Like a missing puzzle piece finally fitting together with the rest of the puzzle.
She was about to say something when all of a sudden he pulled her to him. It happened so fast she gasped from the quick movement. His hand then went and brushed away a few strands from her face. She closed her eyes and let her face rest in his hand for a second. His touch sent electricity through her body. It made the hairs on the back of her neck rise and tingle. She loved how his touch effected her. Her eyes opened and looked into his, searched his for an answer to the question she didn't want to ask. She liked their stolen moments. She cherished them when they were together. Every touch and kiss, every spoken word. But she hated sneaking around. She hated lying to her family. The family that had taken her in when she had no place else to go. No family to care for her. They had given her a family and a home and now she was lying to them. She looked up at Rowan and spoke one word in Irish as she held his gaze.
"Cathain?" (When?)

Rowan didn't want to answer that question. The last thing he wanted to do was answer that question. He knew exactly what she was asking and he didn't know how to answer it. The last thing he wanted to do was disappoint his family with denying the marriage they had wanted for him. But then it all would have been a lie and none of them would be happy in the end.
When? Was he really supposed to answer that? He had no idea when, when he would have the courage enough to bring up the subject let alone talk to his family about it.
"Ta bron...a ghra..." He spoke softly to her since they were still so close. He knew he had the courage of a lion, he could turn himself into one after all, but this was far more difficult that he could have even imagined.
He apologized before he could even think of an appropriate answer to her question. "Ah cannae tell ye. With the shows 'n all Ah...the time just ain' righ'." He hated to give her that answer, he figured she would pull from him then. But he couldn't mix family drama into the mix of the show, dangerous things could happen if people stopped speaking to each other.

She heard him apologize first. She sighed as she heard it. That only meant one thing and she knew the answer to her question before he even answered it. She knew he expected her to pull away from him but right now she just wanted to be close to him. Lorleina closed her eyes and laid her head on his chest. It wasn't hard she was only five foot three so she was rather short. Her dark hair fell around her face and off her shoulders as she laid her head in the middle of his chest. His scent filled her nostrils and she couldn't be mad at him.
"I know....I just hate lying to everyone. They took me in when I had nothing....I owe them more than this."
Lorleina's arms wrapped around his waist and she pulled herself closer to him so that there was no space in between them. She needed this moment right now. She didn't want to ruin it but she already felt like she had when she had asked that one word. She feared that it had ruined it all but she understood. She knew that he couldn't let his family down and a lot was riding on him. But how could his family expect him to marry a girl he didn't love? That was what she didn't understand. Lorleina loved him. More than anything and she knew that she always had and she always will. She lifted her head from his chest and looked at him again. She couldn't get enough of looking at him.
"Is breá liom tú." (I love you.)

Rowan smiled as she pressed her head against his chest. He enjoyed having her so close, he always loved the smell of her hair. He remained quiet for the time being to allow her to speak her mind.
"A ghra mo chroi." It wasn't exactly an I love you too, but he liked the statement better. He smiled to her and leaned down to press his lips to her own. It was a gentle but passionate touch that lasted for a few moments before he pulled his head from hers.
He was there for her, as much as it didn't seem like it. He would do anything for her...except for that one thing..
"Ah promise ye won' have to lie forever." He leaned down to kiss the top of her head. She deserved more than this pain but he just didn't know what he was going to do yet. It would all come to blows eventually. He supposed the worst that could happen would that he'd be thrown out of the family; exiled. He just couldn't bare that thought...not now. There were too many important things to do right now. He just wished he could know how everyone would react before he dropped the 'bomb'.

Lorleina's lips met his and her heart was lifted with just that single act of love. She had played out the day he told them over and over in her mind thinking of new scenarios each time and each time it ended badly. She had even thought of him being exiled. That had been the nightmare she had had last night that had awoken her from a deep sleep. She could still see it so vividly.
She had been sitting in the wagon her parents had given her when she turned twenty one years old when she heard a noise outside. She had draped a grey shawl over her shoulders and walked over and opened the door and stepped outside in the chilly night air. The moon was full and bigger than she had ever seen it, the stars bright in the sky. She looked around for the object of the noise that had awoken her. The whole family had gathered in the center of all the wagons and tents that they lived in. They were surrounding something....or someone. She moved closer. No one noticed her, It was like she was a ghost walking among them. As she made it to the front of the crowd she saw Rowan standing in the middle of them. That was who they were surrounding. His father stood not too far away from him. His voice rose above all others.
"You have disgraced your family by going behind out backs! By denying this marriage your mother and I had arranged for you! You have proven your disloyalty to this family. It pains my heart to see you do such things and to have to do this. Rowan, you are no longer considered a Fury. You are no longer a member of this family. You are hereby exiled. You have until midnight to leave."
Lorleina heard herself scream and run after him. The people around her had grabbed her and pulled her back. They pushed her farther back in the crowd and the image of Rowan got smaller and smaller. She fought with all her might to get back to him but the crowd closed around her and the image of him was gone forever. She had woken up screaming with tears running down her face. She had hoped that no one had heard her since she slept with the windows open but she knew they had. She only hoped that Rowan hadn't heard her screaming. His place wasn't too far from hers. Only a stones throw really.
She laid her head back on his chest and felt him kiss the top of her head . He promised that she wouldn't have to lie forever. But it felt like it right now. It felt like they would never really be able to be together. She would never be able to walk down the aisle and see him waiting for her at the end. Or have kids. Oh, how she wanted kids. How she wanted to be a mother! And she couldn't picture having them with anyone else except for Rowan.
"I'm sorry I'm putting you through this.......how...how has your day been so far?"

Rowan held her to him gently but firmly. He was fine just holding her there, he could hold her forever if it was only a possibility.
"Just fine. Cindy was tryin to steal food from the horses though." He smirked a little, the elephant was too smart for her own good. "Wha' about ye? Ye usually ain' so awake this early." He smiled to her again, actually glad that she managed to change the subject. Last thing he wanted was to linger on such sad thoughts.
Not to mention he still had to find some time to rehearse for the show today. Not that he didn't know the acts by heart but it helped limit the amount of easy mistakes. Which also meant that in the meantime he kept an eye on his sisters to make sure they didn't get into too much trouble harassing the locals. Granted some harassing was fine, even profitable, but sometimes the girls didn't know when to stop. If they pissed off enough people then they would be forced to move on early and then lose out on a lot of money, not to mention probably still having to pay for rented land that they weren't using any longer.

"I..uh..had a bad dream last night. I couldn't get to sleep after that so I just stayed up. I need to start rehearsing a new Trapeze act we've been thinking about doing. More difficult tricks and stunts."
Lorleina tried to push the nightmare out of her mind but it lingered there in her mind still. She looked up at Rowan and smiled. She pulled away and still held onto his hand as she walked them over to a small tree where the roots made a perfect seat at the base of the trunk. She sat down and pulled him down to sit next to her. The sun was higher now in the sky and show down on them. She scooted closer and cuddled up next to him trying to get the most out of the stolen time they had.
She rested her head on his shoulder and pulled his hand up to kiss it lightly. She kissed every fingertip and held his hand to her chest. She wished they could do this in public but not until they told they're parents. That was a day she was and was not looking forward to.

Rowan sat with her on the tree and smirked as she kissed his hand and fingers. She could be rather silly like that, but it was still endearing. "Ah'm sorry ye had a bad dream." He wished he could have held her after a dream she couldn't sleep away. "An good luck with the new act." He knew it was pretty difficult to get a new act down. Took a lot of practice to memorize the moves enough for a flawless act, especially anything that involved the high wire or the trapeze. He wasn't much for heights so he prefered to stay to the ground, but he knew how difficult it could be. Several circus performers have died doing such stunts after all.
"Ah've been thinkin' of changin' a few of my acts as well.. Somethin' new..." He gave a little shrug. He really had no idea what he'd come up with but it would have to be something that other circus' wouldn't dare to do... His power made it easy to do those tasks without the risk of hurting an animal or a trainer. Hell he didn't need a real trainer either...he just used one of the girls as the 'face' of the act.

She looked up at him as he smirked. He always said she was doing silly things but she liked to be silly sometimes. The people in the family called her Moncaí which was the Irish word for Monkey. Not only because of her ability to climb like one but because of her personality at times. She shrugged as he said he was sorry she had a bad dream. She wasn't going to dwell on it. She only wished that should could have went to him afterwards. But sneaking off to his place would be too risky. At least here no one knew they were there. They could spend hours here without anyone finding them. But then they would have to deal with people looking for them.
"I'm used to it. Been having a lot lately. Thanks, I know we're going to do fine but it's just getting everything on point with the act and come up with new tricks. If you need any help with new things with yours I can help out if you like."
It was true she had been having bad dreams every night for the past few weeks. It was starting to show that she hadn't gotten much sleep. Dark circles were starting to form under her eyes and she could be found trying to catch a nap in the middle of the day. Lorleina played with a string that was coming out of a small hole on the knee of his jeans.

He frowned at the thought of her having so many bad dreams. Her act wasn't one that could go on with such lack of sleep. He grew quiet as he tried to think of something that could help her sleep. An idea came to him but he wasn't sure if it was a good one or not.
"We could sleep here. After everyone's gone ta bed. We can take some blankets and pillows out here and we'd just have t'make sure we're back before everyone wakes up." It seemed like a silly and partly childish idea but maybe then she could at least get one good nights rest. That may be enough to break whatever cycle is causing her bad dreams. If not, then at least he would be there for one...
His mind returned to the idea of his act. "Thanks for the help. I dunnae think ah'll need it. Ah'm just tryin to think of somethin new. Somethin that hasn' been done before. So, yea if ye think of somethin unique then lemme know." He smirked to her and leaned against her slightly in an affectionate manner as he glanced down to watch her play with the tear in his jeans.

Lorleina turned to face him with a skeptical look on her face. Was he really offering this? That they come here and sleep at night? She sat and thought about it for a second. Maybe that would help her be rid of the nightmares that had been tormenting her for the past couple weeks. She couldn't risk being this tired while they were working on a new act. It could be very dangerous. She may be a mutant but she was still human and if she fell from the Trapeze bar she could b seriously injured or even die.
"Are you sure? I would want nothing more than to fall asleep in your arms. But...I don't want you to risk anything. Especially if we are stumbled upon."
She put her hand on his cheek and leaned in and kissed him. If he was serious then she couldn't be happier right now. She had always wanted to fall asleep with Rowan holding her. With him there next to her listening to his heart and his breathe just being close to him. And if she had another nightmare at least then he could be there to help calm her if need be.
