Alucard was sitting in the sitting room and reading a hard back book. His face didn't show it nor did his body language since he was so focused on what he was reading, but he was extremely annoyed by what he was reading. He was the only who knew what was going on in the book and it was anyone's guess why he was so upset by it. He kept reading the book even though it annoyed him. It would take a telepath or empath to know he was so annoyed, to everyone else he would look like someone enjoying the book they were reading.
Alucard had a reputation around the school as being one a huge book lover to the point of obsession. He had threatened another student once when they joked about harming a book by either burning or throwing knives at it. He didn't end up harming the other student though due partly to the other student backing down and a teacher getting involved. He was now avoided when ever he had a book in his hand, which was almost every waking moment. Few knew that he also came from the Nightshade family as well, and if they did then his school life would be even more lonesome and isolated then it was now.

Rose had returned to the school a week or so ago. And so far? She was glad no one knew who she really was... The girl hadn't been liked all that much when she'd been 'Rose Nightshade', probably because she'd been a student during the terror of Shadow Nightshade, her mad cousin who tried to destroy the school many times...
She shook her head as she paced down the hall, hands in her hoody pockets, dark eyes glancing into each archway she passed. The kitchen, the living room, the sitting room. Rose slowed to a stop, barely out of sight of the boy inside. She'd recognized him... Backpeddling, she looked back inside, and, sure enough, she knew who it was.
This was... well a surprise to say the least. She hadn't seen Alucard in... Years! Actually, the last time she'd seen him, he was probably 12. It'd taken a moment to recognize who he was, but the Nightshade characteristics were easy to spot when you knew what to look for. It was a look in his eyes, in all of their eyes. You just knew not to mess with them. Even Rose, in this new body, had that look. Not to mention.. He looked a lot like his father, and, considering their fathers were brothers, looked a little like her own.
Suddenly, she realized something. She recognized, and knew him, but he wouldn't. He'd see her, and see a stranger. It was a little sad, that her younger cousin thought she was dead... Actually, all the Nightshades (other then Sky and Parker) believed she was dead, having committed suicide a year ago. There was a small chance he'd recognize that powerful gaze of hers, but what were the chances that he'd think she was his cousin, who he thought to be dead?
She had to talk to him. Not tell him who she was, of course, but at least talk to him... Slowly and gracefully she stepped into the room, a casual but regal smile on her lips. "Is it safe to assume you're a Nightshade? I thought Parker was the only student from the family."

Alucard was still annoyed by something he was reading in his book. He had kept reading because he hoped it would get less annoying later into the book, which it wasn't, and because he just had to read a book through to the end no matter how much he hated it. He was getting through it at a descent rate considering he wanted to just set it down and walk away from it badly, when he heard someone say something to him. He didn't recognize the voice, but he did recognize something familiar about the way the person talked and the feel you got when they talked to you. He glanced up from the book and saw a woman he had never spoken to or seen before in front of him. He would have just ignored her and kept reading, but the look in her eyes was familiar as well. He put the book down and looked her straight in the face. He normally wouldn't talk to a stranger that walked up to him randomly, but what she said and those familiar feelings from her voice and eyes had gotten his attention.
" Greetings stranger. I am a Nightshade, but I didn't know Parker was a student here as well. I take it, it is safe to assume your familiar with my family. Most people around here are frightened by that name, which is understandable seeing how my cousin Shadow was, but there is hardly anyone that knows I'm part of that family. If you don't mind, is it alright if you inform me on how you know it?" Alucard said to the stranger in the same kind of friendly and familiar way he would have spoken to his deceased cousin Rose. " I'm a private person just so you know, so there are certain things I don't like having others know."

Rose's eyebrow raised as he spoke. He sounded like he was an aspiring scholar, speaking far to formally for his own good. Now, Rose had a formal way of speaking herself, but not that bad! When had he picked up that strange way of speaking?
"You didn't? Strange. I would have thought Parker would come find you as soon as he felt you nearby." Parker had a nasty habit of listening to everyone's thoughts, even if the person didn't like eavesdroppers, and would show up when someone he knew got with in range. Why hadn't he come then? Maybe he hadn't spotted Alucard's mind yet...
"The family's done quite a bit. No one has much love for them around here. She paused for a moment, shrugging at his question."You aren't the first Nightshade to wander these halls, you know. All of you have a similar look, maybe not physically, but expressions and such. You start to recognize it after a while." Not quite a lie, but that really wasn't how she knew him. It was true though. The school had seen four Nightshades before now, Shadow, Sky, Parker, and herself. Some people could spot the similarities. Since her 'death' Rose had gotten pretty good at retraining herself not to act to much like a Nightshade. Still, a few things weren't that easy to stop.

Alucard listened to her reply. He might have spoken to her formally, but that was one habit he had when dealing with strangers who interrupted his reading and he did it to everyone without exception almost by some kind of instinct. He still couldn't shake that feeling of familiarity he got from her. He wasn't sure himself why Parker hadn't read his mind, but then again, him and Parker had never interacted that much with each other in the past so there was a chance he didn't recognize his mind. The stranger was right though about his family's unique quality to the way they presented themselves.
" Your right about that, and sorry for how formal I was at first. I get like that when someone interrupts me when I'm reading. I do it to everyone even family so don't feel bad." Alucard said to her as he tried to cut down on how formal he was being before and his urge to keep it up. " Mind if I ask what made you want to talk to me though? Most people don't talk to me when I have a book after this incident I had once."
Alucard sat there and politely listened to her reply. He was trying to figure out why she seemed so familiar to him even though he had never meet this woman before. It finally hit him though why she seemed familiar.
" Sorry to interrupt, but I figured out why you seem so familiar to me even though this is the first time we have meet." Alucard said suddenly interrupting her. " You remind me of my cousin Rose."

Rose knew Parker would recognize Alucard, just like she had. He probably was just getting better about not snooping in people's heads. Great timing cous!
"I pretty much already told you my reason. Didn't think we'd get another Nightshade as a student, so seeing you, I was curious." She paused for a moment, smirking.
[/b]"Am I supposed to know what the incident was? Or anyone as the school for that matter? Don't see how some mysterious event would affect people taking to yo-"[/b] He'd cut her off there. Whatever it was he had to say, it must be important. Both Rose's eyebrows went up when she heard what he said. Already, he seemed to have figured out a little. After a moment, she chuckled a little. "I knew her. She was a student here, before she... Well, you know." Rose had gone insane before her suicide, tried to kill a few fellow students. "But you aren't the first to think that." He really wasn't. A few people had mentioned it before, but it was pretty easy to persuade them otherwise. Especially when she had Parker help her a little... [/blockquote][/justify]

Alucard listened to her and never let his eyes drift away from her eyes. He wasn't sure what to say to her to right now and he was feeling strangely open and friendly towards a complete stranger. If she didn't remind him of Rose so much, he wouldn't be talking to her at all most likely. He had started to feel sad and a sense of longing as he started to think about his cousin Rose. He didn't care much for most of his family since they had always treated him differently then they would have treated other members of the family. He wasn't treated badly since he was one of them after all, but they didn't treat him the same since he didn't like using his powers and tried to not act so much like them. Rose was one of the few who had treated him kindly though, and while they may or may not have talked much by someone else's standards, they had for his. His face showed his sense of sadness and longing now easily though to anyone who knew him even slightly.
" I'm sorry, but could you give me a moment? I need to collect my thoughts. I started to think about my cousin Rose and I forgot how much I miss her until now." Alucard said in a voice that reflected how he felt. " I always saw her as more of family to me then the others."

Parker sensed two familiar presences, two minds that he recognized. One of them he recognized instantly. Rose. She was finally back! Parker had heard what had happened to Ian and he was sure that Rose wasn't over his death. He still wasn't over it. Ian was a great friend and devoted himself to defeating Cain at the very cost of his own life.
The other mind he had to search his memory for a minute, trying to remember who this other mind was. Then, Parker got it and was surprised to find his cousin, Alucard, there at the school. And Rose was talking to him too, nonetheless. Alucard probably wouldn't recognize her, since she was in a completely different body, but Parker didn't want to delve out that information carelessly.
He then appeared at the entrance to the room, a small smile on his face to see them both. "Alucard. It's nice to see you again. It's been a while." Then he looked to Rose and noticed that she hadn't given their cousin her name. He then nodded to her with his eyes bright, silently telling her that he was glad to see her again. Even if she did hate his guts a little.

Rose was a little surprised to be honest. She hadn't expected most her family to really care about her death (other then Sky and Parker.... And possibly her parents.). The fact that he was getting so choked up, all because she reminded him of... Well herself, was... Well she was taken back. After a moment though, she managed to compose herself. "Are you sure you want to share that with me?"
At that moment though, Parker showed up, just like she thought he would. He always had interesting timing. The fact that he came though, and seemed somewhat pleasant towards her, at least said he wasn't angry at her anymore. That was good. After all, their last conversation had been.. Eventful to put it nicely. After a few seconds of silence she smiled, right when he looked at her, silently thanking him for not telling Alucard.
With Parker's power, he could probably feel Alucard's distress, all because of her 'death'. Would it really be wise to tell him that she actually wasn't dead? He could accidentally tell the entire family, or even other people in the school. Yeah, that'd be a great bit of gossip 'Rose Nightshade back from the dead!'. Yup, greeaaaaat.
"How are you holding up..?" She whispered, hoping only Parker would hear her. He'd know what she meant. Parker had been best friends with Ian after all...

Alucard wasn't sure what to say and he wasn't sure why he had told her all of that. She just reminded him of Rose too much. He was planning on leaving the room and heading back to his room so he could calm down when Parker came in. Parker had mentioned it had been a while since they last meet, which was true for Alucard with most of the family. Alucard was amazed that Parker still had that habit of showing up when something was happening. He still wanted to leave, but with another member of the family here, he couldn't. He looked over at Parker with his usual unreadable expression on his face.
" Cousin, it is good to see you so well. I hope life has been treating you kindly." Alucard said in the slightly formal way he always did when he addressed someone who suddenly started talking to him. " It would seem you and this lovely miss know each other. I would be more then happy to leave if you wish to talk with her. I'm not much of one for conversation after all."
Alucard wasn't sure what Parker would say or do, but he had a feeling it wasn't going to be to his liking.

Parker felt Alucard's restless mind, still grieving over Rose's 'death'. He immediately knew that Rose didn't want that information given lightly. And it wasn't his story to tell.
When Rose asked how he was doing, Parker just stared at her. It's hard. But I'm dealing. I'm just wondering how you are holding up. He sent her this message telepathically. Then he turned to Alucard as if nothing happened.
"You don't have to pull that formal stuff on me, Alucard." Parker knew exactly how he was feeling. And they were cousins, after all. "Rose's death was a big thing for all of us." He was going to tell him to stay, but Parker could sense that Alucard actually didn't want to.
"Man, if you want to go, you can." Parker regretted the words as soon as they left his mouth. He was going to fix that...he had a nasty habit of speaking before he thought about it. Or answering people's questions that they ask in their minds that he hears all the time. Because of his power, Parker constantly tried to train himself to think about what he says. He asks himself if he was answering a question that was asked out loud or if it was just a rhetorical mind question that nobody else heard except him. Parker waited for a possible storm...

Rose looked at Parker when Alucard mentioned them knowing each other. She half wanted him to know, all because of his reaction and she felt rather guilty... But... No. He couldn't know. At least not yet. Or at all. She didn't know. "If Parker has to tell me anything, he can tell me telepathically."
I'm fine. Parker would know she was lying. The one thing she'd been fighting to prevent, had happened. And she had been there... And hadn't been able to stop it. It made her angry, and feel useless. But, she'd cope. She'd move on.
Parker's blunt response to Alucard made her glare at him. "Shouldn't you be at least a little nicer about it?" She looked at Alucard, smiling slightly, and, once again, back into her feigned ignorance of just who he was. "I'm sorry, I never introduced my self. It's Rosalie, Rosalie North." Of course she didn't actually go by Rosalie, but it was part of her cover. In her former body, Rose had been her full first name, but now, it was Rosalie.

Alucard didn't mind what Parker had said or even that Parker had read his thoughts, he was use to that kind of thing with his family. He was about to leave when the woman reprimanded Parker and then introduced herself. He was surprised she wanted to keep him there to talk even after everything. He wasn't sure what to think of it really, but he guessed Parker had an idea since they seemed to know each other.
" I am Alucard Vincent Nightshade. It is a pleasure to meet you Miss North." Alucard said to her in reply with a slight bow. " I'm sorry, but I'm not very good company. You can ask Parker if you don't believe me. Even my family don't talk with me often unless they have to, so I can't promise you will have much fun talking with me. I will stay though if you want me to."
Alucard had taken on that formal way of speaking again. He had done so partly because he wasn't sure what to do now and partly because her name was Rosalie which could easily be shorted to Rose as a nickname and she already reminded him of Rose a great deal.

Parker just shrugged at Rose’s reprimand. “I’m just letting him off the hook if he actually wants to go.” He was the one who was actually knew what Alucard was thinking. Honesty was the best policy for him…usually. But sometimes he came out very blunt and rude, like he was a moment ago.
When Rose responded to his message, Parker slightly rolled his eyes. Right. But... I’m the same too. Ian was important to both of us. Come to me if you need anything. Again, when he sent this message, he was looking directly at Alucard, as if this exchange wasn’t happening at all.
Parker looked at Alucard with concern when Rose introduced herself as Rosalie. Again, that swirl of emotions reached him and he couldn’t help but feel for Alucard. After all…he had been in that position before. The grief nearly overwhelmed him, until he met the new Rose and saw that her soul had somehow been saved.
“Rose…maybe you should tell him who you really are…” Parker knew he might get in trouble for this, but seeing Alucard’s mind...he felt like he could trust him. If they at least told him not to tell, Alucard probably would keep that promise. That’s what Parker felt.

Rose smiled as he willingly introduced himself. Of course she already knew all that... But for him to be open about it? That was a first. He was a Nightshade after all, secretive lot they were. She was trying to come up with a response, when she heard Parker's telepathic message.
I don't want to talk about it.
Of course, it was then.. Parker decided to go against her wish... And basically tell him. The girl shot him a glare, anger flaring. Why did he have to tell him? He'd figure it out if she didn't tell him. A vase broke nearby, her power, often called dark matter, having reached out and broken it. It shimmered out of existence, but lasted just a few seconds, so everyone would see it. "What happened to keeping it from the family, cous?"
Rose sighed, running her fingers through her hair. "It's not like he won't figure it out now. Thanks for that." Stuffing both her hands in her pockets, she finally looked at Alucard. "If you tell anyone else, family or students, not only are you dead, but I am." Rose had far to many enemies in her life, if any of them found out she was still alive...
