The sun had set long ago, and the crisp night air was a nice change of pace. As well as the smell of the ocean that swayed back and forth with its current. Victor walked down the beach with hands in the pockets of his overcoat. He didn't want to rise too much suspicion after all. Luckily for him, besides his slightly daunting size, he was fairly forgettable in the recognizable features department. As long as they didn't get a look at his claws at least. His black combat boots were starting to get a nice layer of sand upon them as he walked along the shore. Thoughts plaguing his mind.
Victor was slightly on the disturbed side. Not that he would ever admit such a thing. But the idea of a mutant centered plague annoyed him. He had nothing to worry about physically but his paranoid mind figured Graydon had something to do with it. And the fact that his son was flaunting around the tv and radio stations with his anti-mutant presidential campaign...made him want to kill him all the more.
But then there was that troubling thought. Why did Victor care what Graydon did to the country? Oh yes, he wanted his son dead...but that was for personal reasons more than anything. Yet part of him kept thinking about how things were playing out. How it effected the mutants of the planet. But why did he think about it so much? Mutants deserved to rule the planet. It was only natural. Only the fittest survive and the humans...just weren't fit anymore.

Ah, the peace and quiet of night. Being completely nocturnal, Alice rarely ventured out when the sun was up. She especially loved the Beach at night. There might be a few people, but only a handful, and none seemed at all interested in making conversation with some random teenager. Just the way she liked it.
She knelt on a bench, her elbows braced on the wooden railing as she leaned out and stared out into the darkness. Normal people would have a difficult time seeing the waves, especially here on the darkest part of the pier (the lights had been blown out by some 'mysterious' power). Alice had absolutely no problem. She didn't need any light at all to see, actually. She saw each wave clearly, each disturbance down below...
Speaking of disturbances.... There was a man, a rather large man, just walking down the shore. All alone. Odd. He wasn't that close yet, but she could tell even from here he wouldn't be the type to walk on the beach with a girl. No, he looked completely lost in thought.
The girl didn't bother turning her attention elsewhere. He was the only thing other then waves moving, and god help her, watching a person was far more interesting then waves. So, she stared that blank, unreadable stare of hers.
((Horrible HORRIBLE post. I'm sorry >.< I didn't know what else to put.))

Victor's walk headed him straight for the pier. He payed no mind to any other inhabitants of the beach area. He could hear a great deal of them even though they were far from his vicinity. But those predatory eyes of his continued to stare straight forward while his mind twisted with thoughts.
But suddenly he stopped, just short of walking beneath the pier. Being the keen sensed creature that Victor was, he felt those eyes that stared at him so intently. It made the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end. The only questions was, where was it coming from? It could be anything from someone trying to sneak up on him to an attack of any nature. victor took a sniff of the air. Nothing too familiar came through those olfactory senses. Then what was it?
These thoughts were all processed quickly and within a moment or two his steps stopped, then his head tilted upward. Amber eyes stared up at the girl that peered right back down at him. Interesting. Not many went out of their way to stare at him...or at the very least they looked away as soon as he noticed. Gutsy...

Alice wasn't subtle. In personality at least. The girl had absolutely no problem staring someone down, as if waiting for them to do something interesting. Right seemed to be one of those cases. The girl's gaze so intent you'd think she was waiting for him to sprout wings or something! The fact that she'd spotted him almost instantly was a little strange though with this darkness. Even stranger was the fact that she wasn't squinting, no signs of difficulty seeing him on her face. Just.. a blank intense stare.
The man's sixth sense picked her up much faster then she'd expected. Usually it took people much longer to realize they were being watch. This man though had felt it in only a matter of seconds. Interesting. It took him a bit longer to find the source of his discomfort, and when he did.... It seemed to turn into a staring contest. His interesting eyes focused on her blue green ones. Like expected, she didn't say anything when spotted. No apologize, no introduction... Just.... silent waiting. Again, it was like she was waiting for something interesting to happen. Her focus was so intense, that she wasn't even blinking.
The longer they stared though, the less likely it seemed anything would happen unless she nudged him in the right direction. Slowly her lips parted, but that intense stare never ceased. "I was hoping for something a little more interesting then a staring contest." There was no fear in her voice. If you were trying to describe her voice, you would probably call it cold, calculating, and calm... but hair raising. It wasn't natural. Something was obviously off about her...

Now that comment, was interesting. What was this girl up to? Had she been looking for him? He didn't like being hunted... Victor considered himself the hunter, in all things. He would never allow himself to be someone's prey. The girl seemed to have some boldness to her. Something else he would have to rectify. It was always nice to humble those who needed it.
In what seemed to be a blink of the eye Victor was no longer on the ground and the railing shook with his weight. Feet were planted firmly on that railing as he bent his knees and rested his arms on each one, letting her get a good view of those metal coated claws. "I think you maybe getting a lot more than you," he emphasised the word with a point of his finger, "bargained for."
Victor watched her reaction. It all depended on the way she moved and regarded his presense. If she was indeed there to do something to him, well then she wouldn't succeed. Those claws would easily eviserate her right on that pier without a second thought. If she was just being some nosey kid...well they he supposed he could let her live...maybe.

Of course Alice hadn't been looking him specifically, but she was the type to play with people, and when they just mirrored her reaction? Well, it wasn't exactly something she liked. Like Victor, Alice was a predator, just very well disguised. After all, who's think a 'sweet' teenage girl like her really was a monster?
Alice managed to lean back a little before he landed on the railing. That'd definitely hurt if he'd managed to land on her arms which had been in that same spot only seconds before. Up close, she could see just how menacing this man was, even with out his flaunting those strange claws of his that looked like they could decapitate her with little effort.
His words were met with that blank stare of hers, as if contemplating what to really think of this man. Strangely, the girl showed no fear. If anything, there was only mild interest in her expression. Probably not what you'd expect from a 17-year-old. What happened next was even stranger...
Alice suddenly smiled, and it wasn't a normal smile. It'd been twisted somehow. "You're interesting." Something was definitely off about this girl, there was no doubt about that.

Interesting? That was the last thing he had expected out of the girl. Especially when he was going for the scare tactic. Hmph. Where was the fun without a little fear? "Its not polite to stare little girl." He snarled slightly and still loomed there while his eyes looked her over almost as if he was looking into her soul. He took in her features, but there was something off about her. Victor had keen senses and she wasn't giving any human body language at all. So she was either just a really odd human, or he had a fellow mutant on his hands. That thought made him smirk as he noticed that twisted little smile of hers. Interesting.
"Isn't it past your bedtime?" Did he want to work her up? To get her mad? Maybe. But he also didn't really want to entertain the brat all that much. Last thing he needed was a bunch of kids following him around like puppies. It was bad enough already now that he decided to get a little chaos causing group together. But he could tolerate it...as long as they were useful. And once they weren't, well he had no qualms in killing them himself.

Alice blinked when he suddenly chastised her for staring, as if suddenly realizing that was was staring. Finally she smiled. "I don't care about manners. They were only invented to make the higher class feel superior." Or, they were in her mind. She saw no point in being polite.
She didn't even seem aware of his attempts to scare her, which was a little odd. So far, most everything about this man wasn't seeming to register with her. If anything, she seemed to treat him like something she could play with. She might have said anything to make him think that... But that smile of hers....
His question was met with a rather confused look, as if she'd never considered such a thing. Most definitely, something was off. After a few moments she smiled again. "I'm nocturnal. I don't have a bedtime." She really didn't. Sure, they liked to keep her on a daylight schedule, but they realized she could only stand so much of that before reverting back to her vampire life style.
He might not realize it, but Alice was more like him then anyone he'd met before now, but that was probably just due to her state of mind...

"Nocturnal huh?" Victor smirked as he sweeped his feet out from underneath him so that he'd sit down on that railing with his legs dangling. "So that alone gives you the need to linger about at such an hour? No other nocturnal creatures to be scurrying with?" He wasn't even sure why he was talking to this girl now. She seemed thoroughly unimpressed with him. Not that he cared.
He looked her over for a moment, trying to understand why she wasnt even slightly uncomfortable with this encounter. It was strange...strange enough to intrigue him for the moment. Perhaps she was just good at bluffing.
"So what are you out here for? Just to stare at people? Or steal their wallets?" He tried to figure out what she was up to while he was still interested. But he was almost to the point to leaving her to her own devices.
Though...someone showing such little fear would make it a lot more fun to show her what it meant to be afraid. Oh what the things he could do to show her what fear was. Oh there was always that drowning idea too...how convienient to be by the ocean.

Alice shifted a little so his legs wouldn't touch her as he changed positions. It wasn't that she was scared of him, just that she didn't like contact with people at that much. It was more of an irritation then anything else. "... Need, want. Does it matter which?" She paused for only a few moments. "Others...?" She actually looked a little surprised by the suggestion, as if never considering the idea before now.
Like him, she was beginning to lose interest. He hadn't done anything that would whole her attention since those first minutes. If he didn't do something soon... She just might see if she could get a reaction out of him.
"Out.... here..." Another question she hadn't considered before now. Was she supposed to be somewhere else? "If I was people watching, wouldn't I be somewhere more populated? Why would I want their wallets?"
Finally the girl seemed to come to a decision. A reason for being out here. One... He probably wouldn't expect. "I'm looking for someone willing to play with me." Her signature 'would have been innocent' smile touched her lips. The girl was asking him, in her own way, if he'd be willing to play with her.

Okay Creed...if you ever had a cue to leave, now would be a good time. What was with all of these teenagers all of the sudden? He really needed to stop running into them. "Uh..yea..have fun with that Kid." He slipped down from that railing then to land his feet on the wood of the pier. Of course he completely misunderstood what she was meaning by play. And he knew he was far too old to play with her...at least on a consenting level.
Victor walked away without another glance behind him. At any rate his version of playing was far different than whatever hers was either. His play could get her killed and while he'd enjoy it. Wasn't as fun when they were out looking for it.
Of course if she was anything like him, such a move as he did would only start the game. Showing your back to a predator wasn't a good idea at all. In fact it was something that got those stupid humans with giant cats as pets killed all the time. But Victor knew nothing of the girl, had she actually shown more predatory signs, he would have known better.

Alice obviously didn't like that answer. She did not take no for an answer. Here she was, trying to be at least a little nice and asking him before hand... Actually it was more like a warning. And he just left! Well, it looked like she'd just have to make him play, whether he wanted to or not.
She stood up from the bench, staring at his back as he tried to leave, head tilted slightly, her blue green eyes turning back. Not solid black yet... But obviously darker. Darker... and hungry. All because he'd turned his back to her, exposed himself. It woke the madness inside her. The madness that would only be satisfied by spilling his blood...
He didn't get far, or she wouldn't let him. Either way, a thin dark shape leaped out of the shadows, streaking towards his neck, intending on just slicing the flesh just deep enough to sting. Of course she wouldn't kill him. Well, not yet at least. She couldn't kill the people she was playing with before they were willing, after all. "Just one round? I'll even give you a head start..." A twisted game of tag.. Where the intent was to kill him... That much was obvious in just those two sentences.
There was a reason this girl didn't 'give off' predatory signs. It made it easier to find prey...

Creed's eyes widened, more from the shock of something suddenly jumping out at him than anything else. He felt the sting of the cut at his neck...nothing major. But what was that? Shadows? Interesting. His hand went up to his neck instinctively holding the small wound there. The large man turned then to stare at her while his hand lowered. That wound was no longer there. "Oh...so you want to play like that eh little girl?"
Victor chuckled to the idea. It wasn't a smart idea either. "Okay, let's play." He rose his hand up and gestured her to come at him. His muscles tensed slightly to give him more of a reaction time. While he was generally fast, he had no idea what to expect from her. And that was why he'd let her have another free shot if she would take it. He didn't need a head start and he wasn't going to take it. He had to see this, had to watch what this power actually was. It seemed she may have been far darker than he had initially noticed. That was all right. Perhaps this would be fun after all.

Alice loved the initial shock everyone had when they turned their back on her, an almost blood thirsty smirk on her lips. Oh yeah, she was losing it a little... Especially when he looked back... And actually looked... interested? Her smirk turned into a grin. She didn't often get willing playmates, even more rare were those who were interested.
Her dark eyes were darkening faster now, the whites of her eyes now gray, each moment closer to black. She didn't care, maybe she didn't even notice, that the wound on his neck had healed. If she had, she probably would have decided she liked this man... All because he could survive her dangerous games.
Instead of running though, and making her chase, he'd just turned to her, his body language saying she had a freebie of sorts. That was new... She'd never actually had someone that willing! Slowly she took a few steps closer, head tilting a little more, curious now why he'd let her possibly kill him in one shot.
None the less, she wouldn't waste the chance. Smiling innocent (though it looked almost Satanic), she held out a hand, as if beckoning something. The lights on the pier started to explode, destroyed by the shadows and sending the entire area into total darkness. The darkness at their feet started to squirm and slither, like live snakes, before the shadows around him turned against him, leaping out at him from all sides but up...

Creed watched as all of the lights busted out around them, watching as the glass fell down like rain. That was strange. Why would she want to do that? Oh... As the shadows headed for him he now truly understood why she said she was nocturnal. Luckily for Victor he had excellent night vision, just part of the heightened senses package. But with how dark it was, it would be real easy for her to use that shadow/darkness power of hers. He was going to have to think of something quickly.
Being attacked from all sides, Victor's first instinct was to jump. He lept upward, but forward as well. He lunged with that leap straight for Alice. Claws were outstretched as he swiped widely at her. This was indeed interesting. A teenager outright willing to risk their lives to 'play' with him. The girl would regret it later, at least that would be his intent.
"I'll give you the chance to run still if you want to smarten up and do so Kid." He really wasn't in the mood to fight. She'd easily get him in that mood..but he would give her the chance to back down as well.
