Nightwolf walked down an alleyway slowly and calmly, as if he didn't have a care in the world. The sun had yet to set, but the alley was already dark due to the height of the surrounding buildings. The alley seemed to have been devoured and overtaken by shadows. The foreboding surroundings did not seem to bother Nightwolf as he continued to walk down the alley at his slow pace.
The sound of footsteps came from the end of the alley behind Nightwolf. He stopped and slowly turned his head to look back after hearing the footsteps. What he saw was a man in a tan jacket, worn jeans, and boots glaring at him. Nightwolf blinked before he turned around to face the man behind him. He looked at the man silently, his hands in his coat pockets. " Are you the guy who beat up Franky's men?" the man said in a calm, yet threatening New Yorker accent.
" Who is Franky?" Nightwolf asked after a moment, his voice as calm as the other man's yet without a hint of aggression or fear.
" Franky, you know the guy who runs this areas drug business?" the man asked in the same way as before.
Nightwolf remained silent for a moment before he said, " Ah you mean those punks who were threatening those people the other day."
" Yay, that would be them. Well you really did a number on them guys so I have been asked to return the favor. While Franky doesn't care about those worthless little shits, he does care about his reputation. And it doesn't sit too well that a single guy could beat some of his men so easily." the man said in a somewhat business like way this time.
" Ah, well tell Franky I'm sorry that some of his men got beaten up by me. Although they were the ones who started the fight." Nightwolf said in a voice that made it seem he was brushing the whole issue off.
" Sure I can do that, but this has to happen before that." the man said in a falsely friendly way before he pulled out his gun and took a shot at Nightwolf.
The man's eye grew wide as his shot went through the spot that Nightwolf had just been at, yet wasn't at now. Before the man could even wonder what had happened, he felt the edge of a large knife on his neck. Nightwolf said from behind the man, " Tell Franky that if he pulls this little stunt off again, I'll be paying him a visit in person."
" Who do you think you are to be telling me what to d-" the man started to say before he was quickly spun around and had a fist planted square in his gut, knocking him out.

Ah, New York. What a horrible place. But, since most of her clients resided in the city, she was forced to handle all her face to face meetings in the place. In just a few days, she’d be meeting with a long time client, who always seemed to find new jobs for her. She often wondered how he came up with dozens upon dozens of jobs. Finally, she’d just decided he either had far too many Mutant enemies, or he just wanted to keep her coming back. Either way, she didn’t care as long as she got paid.
Of course, the nature of her jobs brought up a dilemma the woman had been pondering over for several weeks. With her last encounter with Victor Creed, she’d been forced to try and come to terms with her line of work. Was her motive pure, and she did her job, and did it well, because someone had to? Or did she get a thrill out of it? This question had kept her from searching out the man once more, like wise though, he hadn’t come after her, so he must not be nearly as interested in the woman as he’d seemed.
Merfonde was wandering the streets, her jet black hair hanging down her back, the woman wearing plain worn jeans and a form fitting black top. It was strange, how simply dressed she was, but how easily she stood out. It wasn’t that you could call her a beauty, at least not the sort men would approach. It was a cool, and calculating beauty, the woman giving off an air of superiority just with the way she walked. Even pick pockets gave her a wide berth, as if knowing the woman could easily over power them, and there was no such thing as sneaking up on her.
As she walked, something caught her attention. A man slinking into an alley, obviously following someone. She slowly stopped, her feral hazel watching the entrance intently. Finally, she smirked, deciding it wouldn’t hurt to check out. She was cautious, carefully getting close enough that she could pick up the conversation from within, without drawing either men’s attentions, or anyone on the street. Anyone that saw her would just think she was waiting for a ride from a friend.
Leaning against the wall, her expression gave away nothing as she listened. Only when she heard the drawing of a weapon did she peak inside, just in time to see exactly what happened. The younger man was a mutant, how couldn’t he be after using his power in broad daylight? Instantly, the wheels in her head started to turn, process what she’d seen and making a logical guess of his power. It was some form of teleportation. For now, the exact type was unknown.
Shrugging away from the wall, she entered the alley, hands on her hips, with a wiry smirk on her lips. ”Shouldn’t you be a little more careful with using your power? It is broad daylight after all.”

Nightwolf looked back at the woman who had just entered the alley way, he knew he smelt another scent other then the unconscious man's nearby. He looked at her calmly, with a slight amount of curiousness in his gaze. He replied back to her after a moment, " Probably not, but I really didn't feel like taking a bullet to the chest as well. Sorry about the disturbance, I will be getting out of your way now."
Nightwolf moved to walk past the woman after he had quickly placed his knife back in it's sheath strapped to the lower part of his back next to it's twin. Nightwolf had felt himself become very alert since the first moment this woman had appeared. He had had this feeling far too many times in the past to ignore what it meant, this woman was dangerous. He calmly and slowly went to pass her, keeping a friendly and nonthreatening feel to his presence. He made sure that no matter what she may be thinking, it was clear that he meant her no harm in any way. Nightwolf also felt a sense of disappointment that he had been caught underneath his caution, he had managed to keep from being found out until now.

For being caught, the younger man was unusually calm. Strange. Most mutants were horrified by the idea of being seen by a complete stranger. And, some of the time, they would even try to cover their tracks and attack her. This one though. He was a bit smarter then she expected. That or he was a complete pacifist. How boring.
"And you seem to think he has the skill to actually hit his mark." Her dangerous gaze traveled to the fallen man. He'd been efficient in taking the man down. Most definitely he had combat training. Obviously not to the extreme she had, but more then the average citizen. Perhaps ex-military?
The moment he moved, her cold gaze was focused on him once again. Her reaction time was above average, catching the smallest motion and reacting in a split second. Suddenly, she smirked, a little darker then that first time. "Are you scared of me?" His body language was easy to read. He was cautious, he knew she wasn't a normal human. Hell, he didn't even know if she was a human. For all he knew, she could be a psychopathic murderer.

Night Wolf stopped and looked over at the woman, he knew she was taunting him into an action. Despite that fact she had been half right, he wasn't so much scared of her as he was of highly cautious. Since getting this close to her something immediately came to his attention she was not a mutant, she was human. This fact put him slightly more on edge, a human had him this on edge.
" Scared? Maybe, but what does it matter? I'm not going to get into a senseless fight. Although how about we have a cup of tea and a bite to eat instead? I don't know about you, but I'm getting kind of hungry." Night Wolf said in the most cheerful way he could in this situation.
After having said that, his thoughts drifted to meat, sweet delisous meat. His stomach growled as he continued to think about eating meat. He hadn't eaten more then a bag of chips here or a candy bar there for days now, and his hungry was seeming to be catching up to him. Night Wolf shook off the thoughts of meat to focus back on this woman who was causing him to feel so alert.
" So what do you say, want to get a bite to eat? I'm thinking meat myself." Night Wolf said to her as he looked her in the eyes.

Merfodne continued to smirk, amused by his openness. His offer though made her laugh, shaking her head. Really? Here he was, obviously wary of her presence, but inviting her to join him. "Kid, you don't look like you could be older then 21." Like hell she'd agree to going with him!
"Not to mention, why would you even consider asking... When you know I'd have no problem killing you?" Her smirk darkened, a cold confidence in her voice. There was little doubt in her voice that she'd succeed if she were attempting to end his life. "Thankfully, there isn't a price on your head, so I've no reason to try. You should be careful though. You never know who might catch you using your power. Maybe that drug dealer friend of yours will hire himself a Bounty Hunter or two to track you down."
She turned to leave, her interest gone. Pacifists bored her, and she didn't feel like entertaining this kid. And here she was, thinking she'd find something at least a little worthwhile. She was gone, just like that, melting into the crowd like water. It was almost as if she'd never been there...

Night Wolf watched the woman disappear into the crowd. He almost sighed after she had left. He was glad she had left, but at the same time he had a feeling this wasn't going to be the last time he was going to see her. He had a feeling the next time he meet her, the encounter wouldn't end so peacefully. He continued to look towards the crowd the woman had disappeared into for several moments before his stomach growling yet again got his attention.
" I kind of wish she had taken me up on my offer to go get something to eat." Night Wolf said to himself as he placed a hand over his stomach.
Night Wolf also wished he could have had a chance to get a better read on her so he would be better prepared for the next time he would have to deal with her. After her last comment, he knew she was a bounty hunter and the level of alertness he had while she was around told him she was good. He wasn't looking forward to their next encounter for sure.
The sun had finally set during Night Wolf's sudden event, casting the city into what would have been pitch black darkness had it not been for all the cars, city lights, and the light coming from the surrounding buildings. He hated how bright the city was at night. He stood where he was until the man on the ground started to stir. He quickly disappeared into the shadows of the alleyway before the man could awaken.

Alice was forced to remain indoors until at least Sunset. So, after checking the time every ten minutes for hours on end, it was finally bearable to leave the school. When she did, the girl went a strange urge to go to New York. She couldn't explain why, just that she needed to be there. Catching a cab, it was easy getting to the busy city right around the time the sun had set completely.
She wandered the streets, blatantly ignoring everyone that crossed her path. She didn't know where she was going, just letting her feet take her anywhere they wanted. Maybe she was just following light levels, trying to find the darkest place she could, in the shortest distance. Somehow she ended up in a dark alley. It took her a moment to realize she wasn't alone.
There was a man on the cold concrete, face down and unconscious. Or, mostly unconscious. She approached, slight interest on her expression as she crouched down, tentatively reaching out and poking him on the shoulder, as if to see if he'd wake up form the slight disturbance. For now, she seemed unaware of the second presence in the shadows....

Night Wolf came out of the shadow as this new girl showed up, he wanted to see if he could get the girl away from the unconscious man or at the very least be able to protect her if he wakes up. He stood behind her, just watching her. He wasn't too sure what to do, she didn't seem scared or even alert to her surroundings.
" You might want to stop poking him, he doesn't need to wake up right now." Night Wolf said to the girl finally after pondering what to do.
Even though he had spoken to her, he still wasn't sure what to do after. He was still hungry and he really wanted to go get a meal soon. Before he thought about eating though, he couldn't leave before he made sure this girl was safe and sound. He was feeling impatient though due to hunger, and he couldn't wait any longer.
" Say want to go get something to eat with me? I'm starving and this really isn't a good place for a girl to be at." Night Wolf said as his stomach growled loudly.
Night Wolf looked at the girl as he waited for her reply, a slight feeling of alert coming forth.

Alice felt something odd. Something she'd never felt before. Something leaving the darkness... Something unrelated to her... It wasn't until she heard a voice that she realized that that something was a someone. She didn't turn to look at him, just stared at the man with that unreadable stare of hers. "You are very good at hiding. You should be careful though. The shadows turn on people with little warning." Finally she glanced over her shoulder at him, the look on her face saying she knew exactly what he'd done. How? He probably wouldn't figure it out. Easily at least.
She'd completely ignored his first comment, not caring if the man woke. After a few moments though, she glanced back at the stirring man, as if trying to figure out what threat he could possibly pose to her. Unable to figure it out, she looked back at the conscious man, then the unconscious one once again... Still trying to figure out the threat the conscious man seemed to think he was. "Why does my gender have anything to do with where I go...?" Finally she stood up form her crouch. It was like she'd turn down free food...

Night Wolf looked at the girl before him. She was going to be a handful to deal with that was for sure. She seemed to understand what he had done though fairly well. He still wasn't sure how to handle her yet, all he knew was that his hunger was really starting to distract him. His stomach growled again. He looked at the girl and figured he would deal with her in the easiest way he could think of for right now.
" Yes I'm good at hiding and you being a girl really doesn't limit where you can go, just that it might be more dangerous is certain areas. Now how about that meal? We can go anywhere you want to so long as we can get some food. I will even pay for your meal, so yes or no?" Night Wolf asked in a somewhat friendly way.
Even though he had felt that sense of alertness, it was strange kind of feeling. It didn't feel like she was dangerous to him, even though she clearly could be from the way she acted. It felt to him more like he was more aware of her presence then he was of others. He normally would think on this strange, new feeling, but he was far to hungry to concentrate on it right now. All that was certain that he knew was that he wasn't frightened or threatened by this girl.

Alice fixed him with that usual intense stare of hers. He was playing dumb? He knew what she meant.... So why didn't he acknowledge it? Strange.... "I don't believe I'd be in any danger." She paused for only a moment. "Only if you pay. I don't care where." She wasn't a cautious girl, that was for her. The fact that she agreed to going to dinner with him so quickly was proof of that. She really didn't have much regard for her own safety, or she was beyond confident that there was no chance she'd be in any danger.
She glanced back at the man on the ground, then the stranger who'd offered to feed her. "Did you knock him out?" It was right then she spotted the gun in the fallen man's hand. "......" She was deep in thought now. "You should have killed him." There was absolutely no emotion in her voice, the girl lacking the ability to feel sympathetic in any way. Being a psychopath after all sort of made it impossible to relate to normal human emotions.

Night Wolf looked over at the man on the ground for a moment before looking back at the girl. He heard the emotionless way she said he should have killed the man, but he wasn't going to get drawn into it. He knew better then to get caught in someone's flow when they said something like that so emotionlessly.
" There was no reason for me to kill him, he only took a shot at me." Night Wolf said as he walked over to stand next to the girl. " Well lets get to a place I smelt some really good meat being cooked at."
Again with his thoughts on meat distracting him. He knew he was hungry, but he never realized how hungry he really was until now. He let himself think about the meat for a moment before he wrapped his arm around the girl's shoulders.
" Your a mutant, so let me show you something interesting." Night Wolf said with a smile on his face. " Oh but just to warn you, this is the first time I have tried to bring someone else with me when I do this."
He didn't wait for her to reply before he moved both of them slightly back wards. They entered the plane of shadows for a moment before they stood in the alley across from a small hole-in-the-wall restaurant.

"Exactly. He didn't care if he killed you. Why should you care if you kill him?" Why had he spared the man? She wouldn't have, if given a choice... She really, REALLY, didn't get it. Just like that though, he'd changed the subject back to food. "Oh, okay."
The girl went deathly still when he touched her, as if playing dead. But instead, it was more of a never really having to deal with people touching her that shocked her so thoroughly. Rarely was she touched, so when she was? It always took her by surprise.
What was more surprising was that he took her into the shadows with him. It only lasted a second before they were out... But she remembered it clearly. It was strange, actually having been apart of the shadows for the first time. After controlling them for so long, it obviously unnerved her a little, but she managed to hide the emotion.
With out hesitating, she slipped out of his arm, putting that foot's distance between them once more. It wasn't because she hated him, she was just.... Used to having her own space, and didn't like people invading it.

Night Wolf began to pant for a moment, as if he was out of breath. He smiled towards the girl, he wasn't sure what she thought about what had just happened, but he knew one thing for sure he was really tired after bringing her with him into the shadows. He finally caught his breath after a moment and stepped forward a few steps.
" So does this place look fine? I can bring us to another place if you don't want to eat here." Night Wolf said as he stretched slightly.
He figured he would be tired after bringing her through the shadows, but he didn't think that he would also become stiff feeling. He felt like he had just carried her through a dense substance that didn't approve of someone other then him going through it. He had never had to deal with that feeling before when he was in the shadow by himself or with Pup, but he definitely felt that way just now with her. Another new feeling he had gotten while being near this girl. What was it about her that was so new for him? He felt oddly drawn to her right now, but that may have been due to the approaching full moon. If he got more attached he would have to keep some distance from this girl during it if he has anymore involvement with her after tonight.
" So this place, yes or no?" Night Wolf asked her as his stomach growled loudly.
