It was raining, storm clouds giving the day an illusion of almost night. Few people were around, the streets near deserted except for the teenage girl known as Gisli.
She sat on the side of the road, an umbrella over her head, bare feet in the rain gutter. It'd been raining for quite a few hours, heavy enough that the gutters filled with several inches of water. Strangely Gisli didn't seem bothered by it, her gaze downward, watching the water swirl past her feet. It was almost peaceful, the only sounds being the splishes of rain hitting the umbrella and cement.
Her thoughts wandered from everyday life at the school, to the events of the world, to the latest movies she'd seen or books she read. Over all? The girl didn't even seem coherent to her surroundings, absorbed in following her odd trail of thoughts until she found something a little more productive to do.
Suddenly, she sighed, her gaze turning upward, this time intent on watching the rain fall. It really was peaceful... Why couldn't life always be like this? With yet another sigh, she started to look downward again... And paused. Someone was across the street...

Oh how lucky Victor was today. The rain just made it all the more poetic. He could feel his claws itching for the mayhem he planned to cause. And he was on the way to that mansion to cause it. It was time to remind Logan of the collateral damage that he surrounded himself with. Yes, Creed enjoyed making his life hell. But as he walked along the concrete side walk he noticed another creature out in the rain with him. He continued to walk until he stopped just infront of the girl...well across the street but still infront of her. He was drenched from the rain, the long dark coat he wore seeming to take most of the moisture but he had no sort umbrella or the like. He had contemplated a hat before his little adventure but decided against it. Under that coat was his usual tshirt attire as well as black pants and boots.
His attention was placed on the girl while he watched her for a long moment. She could just be one of the nearby neighbors or something...or she could be one of those x-brats. He sniffed the air, trying to decide from his distance but the scent of the rain masked hers.

Gisli really hadn't expected anyone else to be out here in this weather. Especially someone that looked as... well rugged as this man. Even from across the street she could tell that much. He'd stopped to stare at her. And Gisli, being the person she was, just stared back. In her mind, as long as he stared at her, she was required to return the gaze. Now if he talked, that was another question. Who knew how Gisli might react. She just might turn red and ignore him.... Or still turn red and use as little words as possible.
There was something off about this stranger. Something that freaked her out a little. Goosebumps rose on her skin as those unusually large eyes of hers just kept on staring, her expression completely and totally blank.
Who was this? And why weren't they just moving on already? What was so interesting about her that he just had to keep staring? Come on, random man! Just get moving! Leave her be now! Let her go back to her pointless thoughts. Again, she flat out refused to look away until he did... Ah the mysteries that were Gisli...

He did not move on. In fact he even stepped down from that sidewalk and walked over to her. Lucky for him such a 'swanky' side of town didn't get much traffic...not that it would have mattered if he got hit. He stood in front of her and smirked down at her. "What brings a little mouse like you out in the rain?" She seemed like she was the type that would just run from him...and that reaction would just make him laugh and he'd be on his way. But if she was an x-brat...well then she'd be perfect for bait.
He bent himself down into a crouched position so that he could look the girl in the eye better. He still couldn't get a good sniff from her...well there was more than one way to skin a cat. He stared at her for a long quiet moment before he smiled and looked her in the eyes. "Yanno I'm looking for this big mansion...a school actually. I thought it was around here but I seem to be lost." Now her answer would be very important, if she just pointed well then she was a neighbor girl. But if she was an x-brat...she'd be far too helpful to him.

Gisli's gaze followed him, never letting him out her sight for even a fraction of a second. The closer he got though, the stiller she became. IT was like she was convinced that he would lose interest in her, or not see her, if she didn't move. Actually, she did think that. The least interesting she was, the less likely people bugged her.
And then he was right in front of her, and she still stared. Not only that, he was actually talking to her. She didn't move. "Rain is nice..." Her lips barely moved as she spoke, her voice so quiet it almost didn't count as a whisper.
Again, she kept staring as long as he looked at her, double so when he dropped down to her level specifically so they made eye contact. When that happened.... a soft red tint started to touch her cheeks, suddenly embarrassed by the attention. She was shy, deathly shy. "A... school...? You mean Xavier's..?"Again, her voice was unusually silent, as if terrified of speaking up. Again, she seemed set on believing that he'd lose interest. "Why are you looking for Xavier's...?"

Damn...she wasn't really helping him out here. Anyone could know the name of the place. He kept that smile up as he noticed the way she blushed. "Oh well I know someone that lives there. He's a friend of mine and I thought I'd drop by and say hi." Well, he wasn't lying. He wasn't sure she was a mutant so he kept his fingers curled against his palm just so she didn't get a good look at his claws. If she was a mutant than he didn't have to worry about her screaming and causing a fuss. But he had yet to figure that out. Blasted rain.
He did his best to keep that charming smile up, and downplay the predatory look that could creep up into his eyes sometimes. He had to get this girl to like him, at least for the time being. "You really should get inside. You'll catch your death out here." There, maybe he could get some commitment out of her with that. It seemed that he was going to have to play this one carefully. Or else this little mouse would just have a heart attack and keel over.

He knew someone? Who could he mean? Could it be someone she knew? Probably not.... It didn't hurt to ask though... "Who is it?" She wasn't that social after all. So really, what were the chances that she knew who he was talking about? Her face was a little redder now, growing more and more embarrassed by the second.
She didn't react at all to his smile. Even though she was blushing, she made no face, just stared at him with that deer in headlights look that seemed to be a signature of hers. "......" She didn't really know what to say to that. A stranger was showing.... somewhat concern? "Why would that matter to you...?" In a way she actually looked confused. Finally though she slowly blinked, probably for the first time since she spotted him. "I'm fine out here. It quiet...er..." The last part, her small emphasis on it being 'quieter' out here, was only meant for herself. The school was loud, and annoying, and dangerous. So if she could find a few moments of peace outside in the cold rain, she'd take it, even if it did mean getting sick.

And there she went. She gave him the clues that he needed to know who she was. Thoughts of killing her right now and letting them find her made his fingers twitch slightly. But he had to calm those urges, he would get his action soon enough. "Well..he goes by two names. Perhaps you know him by Wolverine." The smile turned into a bit of a smirk as he waited with anticipation. Oh please let her know him...and know him well. That would just make the look on Logan's face all that more priceless when he showed up with her blood on his claws. Or maybe even just drop off her unconscious body at the door step as a little present. Or he could just show up with a limb...and make Logan track down the rest of her body. Oh the things he could do to torture that Runt's mind and life. There just wasn't enough time...or people...to do it all.
That smile returned a bit, "Well I'd hate to see a pretty girl like you stuck in bed and sick. At least you have the umbrella I guess." He shrugged a little.

Gisli recognized the name. Everyone at the school knew who Wolverine was. "He's the violent one..." She spoke strangely, as if she recognized him more as 'the violent one' more then as 'Wolverine' or 'Logan'. "I wouldn't be much help finding him." Did Logan even know her name? She doubted it. Most her teachers barely remembered her name half the time as is! Suddenly though, she realized something. Who was this man? And was he really a friend of Logan's? .... Wait, Logan had friends? "So you know.... What the school is..?" He had to, right? He had to know that the school was for Mutants!
For the first time, her gaze broke away, finally leaving him to look up at the umbrella over her head. "I wouldn't mind. It'd get me out of classes for a little while..." Hey, she might be deathly shy, but that didn't mean she wasn't a somewhat normal teenager in the sense that she'd take most any excuse to get out of classes. Most excuses... Not all. If she knew that he was a danger to her, she would have run a long time ago.

The violent one? That made Creed grin. She didn't know violent yet. "Well I can find him. I just need to know where the school is." That wicked grin quickly turned back to that 'innocent' smile. "Yea, I know its a school." He unfolded her hands to see his claws which were obviously metallic. "See...I'm one too." He winked to her. "Logan and I go way back. We've fought about..." He counted in his head, "Four wars...together." Well that wasn't a lie either. They just weren't necessarily friends during all of those. He didn't use that information to confuse her about his age, more like reassure her that it was okay to trust him.
"Must be hard to ditch class when you live there too." He chuckled a bit and rose up to his feet then, letting himself glance around a bit. "Would it be too much trouble for you to show me the way? As much as you aren't looking forward to class..I think we both should get out of the rain." Not that Victor had to worry about the rain, his healing factor kept him from ever getting sick.

"Where...?" How couldn't he know where the school was? "It's just down the road..." Her gaze dropped this time, back down to the water flowing past her bare feet. Only when he spoke again, this time verifying he was mutant, did she look up, just to prove it to herself. After.. Her eyes were back on the water. "I didn't know he was in any wars." She didn't know near anything about the man, just that he was violent...
Slowly she nodded. "Worse when the nurse can heal anything you catch..." Even worse when your boyfriend happened to be watched like a hawk by all the X-men, and thus, you yourself ended up being watched for any mischievous activity. His request though took her by surprise. Again that deer in headlights look was back, before.... she nodded once more. "I guess..." Slowly she rose to her feet, holding onto the umbrella tightly with both hands, that faint blush of her's finally starting to fade. "It's this way." She stepped up onto the sidewalk and out of the curb. Instantly she missed the flow of water past her feet, but she didn't step back into the gutter. Slowly she turned towards the direction of the school, taking those first steps towards it. They probably had a block or two before they reached the place.

"Oh yea, those were some brutal wars too. Probably explains why you called him the 'violent' one." He chuckled a bit and shook his head while he stepped up onto the curb and followed next to her as they walked towards the mansion. He pocketed his hands just to limit the worry of anyone that happened to see him. Not that he really cared if people were afraid of him, he just didn't want to cause a scene until there was a reason to cause it.
"The nurse can heal anything huh? That's as bad as me...I can't get sick." He smirked to her while he continued the small talk, trying his best to seem as innocent as possible. It wasn't hard really...just made him think of the things he could do that weren't so innocent even more.
"And thanks, by the way, I really appreciate the help." Oh he knew where the school was. He had been there before, but this way he would have a good shield. And a way in that wouldn't necessarily raise and alarm right away. He knew most of the 'senior' x-men knew who he was too so it was only a matter of time before a whole brawl could ensue.

Gisli looked at him again, trying to figure out why she would call Logan violent based off of wars she didn't know he participated in. "I thought he was violent because it was just his personality...." Again, she looked away, as if to ignore him, her gaze downward, watching the ground ahead of her as they walked.
She slowly shook her head. "Not anything.... Just anything caused by a bug. So it's pretty hard to be sick with out her taking it away..." She fell silent again, unsure what to say. The small talk helped with the awkward silence, but he was the one trying. She just.... Followed whatever topic he brought up, with as little words as possible. The funny thing was, she was so bad with dealing with people she didn't notice any deceit from him, anything that would send up a red flag.
His thanks were only met with a shrug. She was just showing him to the school, why was she being thanked for that? She would have headed back to the place soon enough, anyway, he could have just followed her then. "It's not a big deal..."

Well, Victor wouldn't call Logan's personality violent. After all he always was in love with some chick or another. But then someone like Victor would come around and ruin that lovey dovey crap....and pretty much that was the only thing that made him violent. Other than perhaps the bad attitude, at least that was what it seemed like to Victor. Creed loved doing that too. It was fun watching that tormented look on poor Wolverine's face. Logan really should give up on the whole love thing, just never works out. Victor wondered who was Logan's squeeze now.
This girl was surprisingly quiet for a kid. He was used to the ones that always rambled off like someone gave them too much sugar. It was a nice change of pace and didn't make him want to kill her pre-maturely.
"So, what's your 'gift'? You look seemingly innocent enough." He smirked as he glanced her over trying to guess what it was before she answered him. Though he half expected her not to answer him at all. She seemed like the 'I dont like to talk to strangers' type after all. With all the limited answers he'd be surprised if she elaborated at all.

Gisli really was quiet. Sure, she could warm up to people quickly, given the chance, but that didn't mean she wasn't always reserved in her own way. Outgoing for her was openly smiling. Overly talkative was saying more then a sentence at a time. And so far? She'd only warmed up enough that she'd let him out of her sights for a few seconds. Still, that was progress...
His question made her hesitate a little. It was one thing explaining your power to another student, but to a complete stranger that she'd probably never meet again after this? Well, she wasn't exactly sure what to do. It was a completely new experience for her. Rarely did strangers show much interest in her to begin with! "I'm a.... sort of empath." Sort of being the keyword. Technically she was only half an empath, only able to manipulate negative emotions, and even then she couldn't do that much manipulating, just make them unbearable.
She didn't elaborate anymore then that, just left the subject there. If he wanted more details, he'd ask. She might explain it a little better then, but he was the one to push the subject, she just let it drop... Like just about every other subject they'd been on.
