Your basic room that any boy would have. A dresser on the far wall next to a single sized bed. A shelf with a 5-CD changing stereo, and next to it a picture of Ian and Rose, each with their arm around each other and smiling. Blue curtains hung over the window, often pulled back to let in the sun.
The closet filled with jackets and other dress shirts and pants he usually hung. Next to his bed would be his running shoes, and next to those would be a pair of brown hide boots that he often wore in rainy or winter weather.

Ian hadn't left his room since the funeral. Once Rose had died, he just lost his will to fight. He had promised to make sure Shadow or Cain won, his final promise to Rose, but he just couldn't bring himself to even get out of bed lately. Only time he would come out of his room was to get food, and even then he would just use his powers and go back to his room.
Many had tried to get him to snap out of it and "come back to life", but everyone that tried couldn't seem to pull him out of it. Xavier, Alex, even a close fight with Parker didn't seem to bring him out of the funk he had put himself in with Rose's . He would just lay in bed, playing over his last moments with her, wondering if there was someway, somehow he could've saved her.

Alex found her self infront of Ian door again ever sceace Rose had died she had tried to make him feel better, Alex felt that when Rose died she had lost Ian she hadn’t seen him much sceace he spent most of his time in his room. Alex hated seeing Ian like this she wanted him to smile again. She was never as close to rose as Ian was but she knew what it was like to lose your other half and she also knew that sitting alone for hours in a room wasn’t going to help. She knocked on his door “um Ian its me Alex umm do you” Alex paused she didn’t know what to say she had tried to get him out before with no luck. “Um do you want to talk” was all she could think of this time. She stared at the door hoping for a reply

He was letting his thoughts take him like they always did, but someone came knocking at his door. He sighed, wondering why they couldn't just leave him be. He was about to tell them to go away until he heard Alex's voice. As much as he wanted to be alone, he'd feel like a jerk telling Alex to go away. She seemed to be stopping by his room more often then others, and he began to feel a little better because of it.
"Door's unlocked, Alex."
It was the only thing he would say to many people knocking at his door. He kept himself locked away for most of the day, but didn't mind people coming in and talking to him. He had taken Rose's harder then most, mainly because of a promise. In his mind he had failed to protect her like he said he would, and even though Rose's smile and the look in her eyes told him otherwise, he still couldn't help but feel that more could've been done.

You know its going to rain today ..I mean…” she sighed “Ian look at your self your wasting away to nothing you won’t come out of your room expect to eat and even then…Ian pleses come out go run around the track or the city” she sighed she really wasn’t good at this hole make someone feel better stuff she got her words all mixed up and really made a fool of her self.

"What does it matter if I run or not? It's not going to change anything."
He didn't bother looking at Alex, his own eyes distant as he stared up at the ceiling. He sat up and turned towards the window, staring out at the sky. It was getting cloudy and dark outside, and that was mainly when Ian was out the most. He always loved running in the rain, but these days the clouds just mirrored how he felt inside.
"I failed her, Alex. I broke my promise and now she's ."

“Gone” Alex finished the sentence she looked out the window with him, it was dark and gloomy the clouds covering the sky, Alex didn’t like the rain it always reminded her of crying so the weather wasn’t helping at all. “Ian there nothing you could of done” Alex hated those words coming out of her mouth. She wished that there was someway they could of done something if only the spear hit a little lower. or if she gave us some warning any off them would of token the spear for rose. Any of them would of stopped it if they knew what was coming “Ian you tried your best tell the end you where there for her in the end that’s all that really important”

"Is it?"
He looked to Alex this time, paying no mind to the storm outside. He still thought he could've done something to help her. He felt like a failure, that all this was because of what he had done to her. After staring at her for a bit, he looked down at his hands, folded in his lap and sighed.
"I don't know what to do anymore. I don't even feel like running anymore."

When he looked at her she could see the distances in his eyes she knew he was hurt she just didn’t know how to fix it. “I know its hard to keep moving when the world is shattered like this when nothing is going your way when you look around and don’t see anything posive anymore you don’t feel like living anymore” Alex looked down at her own hands remembering how she felt when her brother first died and how it still haunted her now. “But we have to move on we have to remember what in the world we’ve held on for in life what we can do to remember them and have them not die in vain You will never forget her Ian that I can promise but you can’t remember the negative you have to hold on to life because you still have friends who are willing to fight with you to the ends of the earth if that’s what it takes You don’t have to start running today but maybe just steping out side is all you do today then the next one small walking lab who knows just as long as you keep moving on because that’s the best way we can make sure loved ones don’t die in vain” She looked at him and then back outside to storm she wasn’t smiling or acting bubbley she wanted to make Ian feel better about life to get him moving at lest

The look he gave her then was one of surprise. Like someone had just turned the light on in a dark room, and it was within reach of him to do it himself. He had forgotten that he wasn't the only one that had lost somebody. David lost his parents, Alex lost her brother, everybody loses somebody in life, and here he was moping about somebody who would hit him if she saw him like this.
"Thanks Alex. Guess I needed that."
He smiled, the first time in a while, giving Alex a small hug. Rose wouldn't want to see him like this, and neither would his parents. He looked out the window at the clouded skies again, but they didn't look too bad after all. A few rays of sun were breaking through, and in his heart he began to feel a little more calm. He looked over at the picture, seeing Rose's smiling face next to his, their arms around each other. She wouldn't want me like this he thought.
"I have a promise to keep anyway. A new one."

Alex gave a small smiled when he hugged her and returned the hug “Any time” she said to him looking him in the eye. Ian was her friend she’d pull him out of a rut anytime she’d travel across the world if she had to just to help him that’s what friend did for eathother they where always there. She smiled grew when he said that he had a promise to keep, that ment Ian was not going to give up Ian was going to fight “You know this promise you don’t have to do on your own”

"I know, and I'm going to need everybody's help. The other guys seem to be too busy with stuff, so it's up to us students to take care of things. You in?"
Of course the promise he had made was the one Rose had spoken. Her last words don't let them win still echoed in the back of his mind. He wasn't going to let them win, but he knew that he would need help. Storm and the others had seemed to preoccupied with things and it looked like it was going to affect everybody. They had to move fast, and that meant finding people who would be willing to fight to. Of course Alex would help, and if he asked Parker, he would help to. But who else?

“Are you kidding me I’m in why wouldn’t I be” She hugged Ian holding him tight “Ian I want to fight more then anything Cain needs to be stopped no matter what and even if its just a small army going after him and not the hole school its still something Ian as a student of this school I would give my life to make sure it is safe now and that Cain is stopped. Well make an army of students, students who don’t want to sit around anymore and we will find away to stop Cain once and for all” Alex was so happy that Ian fighting sprit was back she kept hugging him she didn’t know who would fight with them but they’d find students who where crazy like them to steep in and fight.

He couldn't help but laugh as Alex began to get excited. He felt a little better thanks to her, but he still had his own regrets. When she continued hugging him, he began to feel like a teddy bear and couldn't help but smile. He hugged her back finally, glad to have her as a friend. His legs didn't ache anymore, thanks to Aaron healing him he felt better than ever. He stood up, turning away from the window and towards the door.
"Come on, we've got work to do." he smiled, looking to Alex, "Can't be the fastest man on the planet if I don't train right?"

Alex was so smiling at Ian she was so happy that Ian was willing to get out and move she knew he probably still wasn’t really all that happy but feeling like that never really went away after something like this. But Alex Kept Smiling for Ian. When Ian stood up Alex hoped off the bed still smiling at him.. “Then why are we still hear” she teased when he said that they had work to do partially skipping out the door with excitement
