He swallowed then. Nervousness and self-consciousness... "I thought so," he admitted. Kyle had a feeling he knew now what her emotions were, but had no idea how to tell her. But first he had to make sure. "You don't happen to feel like you have no earthly idea how to act around me anymore, do you? Like if you do or say anything you'll feel like an idiot for it?"
He knew this feeling all too well. If she said yes, then he had no idea how to help her. He'd felt like this toward many girls before but they'd all dissed him. After many years he finally just acted the same toward every girl... even the unemotional and interesting ones. But he'd never met someone who felt that way toward him before. He couldn't tell if that made him feel good or just confused.

Taylor then lifted herself onto her elbows then to so that she was at the same height as Kyle. Why did he seem so nervous now? Did he know what was wrong with her? Was it a bad thing? She had no idea, though looking at him it might really bad thing. When he asked her his question she nodded. That was exactly how she felt. “Is this a bad thing?”

He looked and her then and shook his head. "No, no. It's not bad at all. Everyone feels like that at some point," he swallowed again, more stiffly this time. "And once you get used to it, it's almost like it was never even there. The self-consciousness, I mean. Sometimes the nervousness never goes away."
He spoke from experience. Lots and lots of experience, and it was obvious he knew exactly what she was feeling. "That is, until you tell the person that you feel like this..."

Now Taylor was starting to get confused, and frustrated. He seemed like he knew what he was talking about, but he seemed to be talking in riddles. Going farther away from the point of what it was, like he was trying to avoid what it was she was feeling. “So it is not bad? But is it bad that I feel it towards you?” She wanted him to get to the point.

He shook his head, "No!" he said, trying not to sound frantic. "No, it's fine that you feel it towards me. Absolutely fine. It's just that... I'm usually the one who feels that way towards someone, but they've never felt it back. And now you feel it towards me and you've only known me an hour," he shook his head at his own choice of words. He sucked at explaining things.
"I just... never thought any girl could like me. And especially not one who seems to think I'm this weird kid with no manners, and who's a nobody. And you're this really amazing person," he looked at her then, completely sincere about every word he said, "and I guess I just didn't expect you to feel this way... about me."

Now Taylor was really confused. So it was ok that she felt this way about him, but she wasn’t supposed to feel this way toward him because he was supposed to feel this way toward her? That’s the way it sounded like to her at least. He really wasn’t making any sense. He should really just come out and say it. Not beat around this bush with trying to tell her what it was.
When he said that she shouldn’t like him she didn’t understand. Why shouldn’t she like him? He had to be the first person, other then her parents and the professor, that treated her like a human being. “Why shouldn’t I like you? You have treated me like a normal person in this hour then most people have in my life.” Though her voice was still toneless he eyes showed confusion.

He looked away from her then for a moment, thinking hard so a second. Then he looked back at her. "There's no reason you shouldn't like me," he finally said. "It's just that no one has ever liked me before."
He was silent for a long time before he looked back at her again, suddenly realizing what she'd said. "No one treats you like a normal person...?" Well, at least now he knew why she'd liked him so fast. "I'm sorry. Even if you do where the mask, they shouldn't treat you like you're different. I would never do that to anyone."

“Good, because I do.” She didn’t see why people didn’t like Kyle. Unlike her he was a normal human being, just like everyone else. He might be a little weird, but she just thought that was just because they were from different countries and how he acted was how an average American teenage boy acted like. She knew that America didn’t have any royalty so no one here had to go through what she went through for most of her life.
Taylor then turned back to the sunset, it was getting darker and the sun was only partially visible. “To most people in Vineland I’m not a normal person. It doesn’t even accrue to them to treat me as a normal person.” Taylor was happy when he said that he would always treat her like a normal person. Somehow she just knew he was sincere about it.

"I'm glad you do," he admitted, biting his lip slightly. What he wasn't good at admitting was he liked her, too.
"Vineland..." he thought a moment. "I don't think I've ever heard of that place. So you were like ruler of it or something? Or the ruler's daughter?" he suggested.

Taylor sighed. She had to tell him now. She couldn’t, no she wouldn’t lie to him. Plus she had to much already and if he wanted to he could easily look it up on the internet and find out for himself that she was the princess. “This is a fact. I am Taylor Carmen Hart, princess of Vineland, and for not of hearing about it most people haven’t.”
As Taylor was telling him all this, she started noticing something herself. Kyle was becoming nervous. Why was he becoming nervous? Was he feeling the same thing she was? Though she still didn’t know what it was.

He just stared at her. "Whoa. Princess. Nice," he raised his eyebrows. "No wonder you put a mask up. That must've been a lot of pressure put on you." He had no idea what it would be like to be a prince of a place, even a small place like Vineland.
He sighed and looked back at her, not really knowing what to do. He liked her, and obviously she liked him back, and enough to make her nervous. And he noticed he was getting nervous, too. He swallowed hard as he realized this.

“This is a fact. It was a large amount of pressure,” And it was. That was why she was glad when the professor and come and told her she was a mutant. It was a way to leave and escape that live for awhile. Taylor watched as the sunset even lower and then backed at Kyle. He was starting to look even more nervous then her. “Now are you the one that is alright?”

He looked at her then from staring off into the distance. He hesitated. "I have no idea..." he admitted. He could feel himself starting to sweat a little and he had no idea how to stop. He knew that it was probably against everything she was raised with to kiss her, but that's really what he wanted to do. And her lips were right in front of him. He was sure it was written all over his face that he wanted to.

Taylor just looked at him, concerned that he was getting sick. Or did he just have what she had? She turned to look at the ocean, now almost black. “What do we do now?” She didn’t know and hopefully he did, though with the way he was acting he probably didn’t either.

He swallowed long and hard and gnawed his lip. "I honestly have no idea. What do you want to do?" he asked, looking at her and for the first time realizing how pretty she was. He couldn't stop himself from actually saying it out loud. "You're really..." before he could say more he realized what he was about to say and cut himself off abruptly.
