Maron smiled brightly, happy with Phoenix's reaction. For some reason, it was nice being the one that left him breathless for once. Sure, a frozen lake wasn't as exhilarating as Cliff Gliding, but it had it's own sense of wonder to it.
She'd gotten use to his 'cutting' by now, but it would have been easier if he'd just brought the skates she'd found for him. He wouldn't have had to cut himself in the first place, after all! While he 'created' his own skates though, she strapped on her own, hooking the blades to the bottom of her boots.
When Phoenix stumbled, Maron started laughing, reaching out instantly to help steady him. "Don't go falling over before stepping on the ice!" She shouldn't be laughing, but, it was just so hard not to!

Good thing Maron did steady him, or else Phoenix would have been lieing face down on the ground. "That's a lot to ask. I'm not the best.. multi tasker," Phoenix admitted, hanging his head. Really though he was smiling. It seemed like the roles were reversed now. He was the uncoordinated, breathless, one. While Maron on the other hand was the one who was steadying him and seemed to be a whole lot better at this then he was.
Right foot, left foot, right foot- STUMBLE! ok ok, left foot, Art was thinking about his actions as he did them. He was laughing at himself by now, and Maron was laughing at him. Good thing it was cold out, his blush could be covered up as effects of the cold. As the both them approached the frozen lake he looked over at Maron.
She was so beautiful. Where had she been all this time? Hiding away with the runaways while he was at the institute. For more then a couple years now they'd been less then three hours apart. "I hope you know I'm bringing you down with me. Just a heads up," Phoenix warned her. If she could have seen his eyes, she would have seen him wink.

Maron felt bad for laughing a little, but she couldn't have stopped it. Still grinning, she chuckled at his next comment. "Yeah. I know." She'd noticed before, he seemed to focus on one thing at a time, he didn't try to juggle multiple things at once. Seeing him try to though, it made him look cute. But, to her? Phoenix always looked cute.
"Oh really?" She raised an eyebrow when he announced he'd make sure he brought her with him when he fell. It made her chuckle a little. "If you can barely stand, what makes you think you can catch me to bring me with you?" She wasn't the best skater around, but after so many years you learned at least some skills. Like how to not fall on the ice.
Grinning like a fool, she lightly leaned in, kissing him on the cheek, before sliding on to the ice. "Come on, can't spend all day on a task as easy as getting on the ice." They did have all day though...

She'd noticed? So Art's cover of being that 'amazing flawless guy' hadn't worked so well? In a way it was really cute how she'd payed such close attention. Well it's not like he hadn't payed extremely close attention to Maron. He was pretty sure if they both had a test on each other they would pass with flying colors.
"We'll just have to see wont we... but it's really big and.." he started to say, hesitant to take that first step. And then he was kissed on the cheek. There was that weird, warm, bubbly sensation in his chest again. Nothing like a little bit of positive reenforcement. And before he knew it he'd already stepped on the ice and almost fell three times. Oh gosh, could anyone say 'death trap'?
Then Phoenix saw Maron and shook it of. He took a few baby steps toward he and glided a little bit. Note to self: lean forward. he thought as he flailed his arms, loosing his balance. Now he was on the ground. Maybe gliding was to advanced. So was trying to stand up as he fell again. Attempt number two was a little bit more successful. He chuckled, putting his arms out to the side of him like a catcher calling 'safe'!

Maron skated about in circles, smiling warmly as she watched Phoenix make slow progress onto the ice. At first, he was doing great. Until his arms started flailing about like he was trying to fly. She almost flinched when he crashed onto the ice. She knew how it could hurt when you fell. He was trying to get up after that.... and failed.
Chuckling a little she glided back to where Phoenix was, coming to a stop next to him and beaming. He'd finally gotten back to his feet. "Take it easy. Don't go getting ahead of yourself. Otherwise you'll keep face planting it like that!"

Stop smiling! You look like a psychopath or an idiot..." Art mentally scolded himself. Neither were true though, he just looked happy. What a strange concept, happy. Despite skidding halfway across the ice and practically stinging from the cold. Now he was standing though, and Maron was with him. So it really wasn't that bad.
Face planting didn't sound like a fun option. "I'll keep that in mind," he said, taking some more baby steps. Now he'd gotten into a rhythm of sorts. Step, step, glide. Step, step, glide. He hoped Maron wouldn't try any of that fancy stuff around him. Spinning and jumping. Of course it would probably be very cute.
Phoenix started to relax just a little bit, taking Maron's hand in his. Wow, now he was pushing it. Skating, handholding, not falling. He must be insane. His cheeks were actually red with cold now. He pulled the jackets hood over his head. How could he let the cold affect him so much? There was a determined look spread across his face. It was quite adorable. Now his steps were glides. Progress!

Maron just smiled reassuringly as Phoenix started to make slow progress again. At least he wasn't falling down! That was always a good thing! "You better! I don't think Aaron would be to happy if he had to get called back because you broke something!" She chuckled softly, slowly gliding about on the ice, but always returning to Phoenix.
On one of her round abouts Phoenix caught hold of her hand, forcing her to stay back with him. Crap, if he fell he'd keep to his word and bring her with him! Uh oh... "You better not fall, with all your multitasking!" She grinned brightly. He really did seem to be pushing his luck today...

That Aaron fellow seemed like a strange character. Maybe like some kind of brother sister relationship between Maron and him? Well, as Art had displayed, brother and sister type relationships didn't always work out to well. And he would like to avoid Maron kicking him again.
"You better hope not..." Phoenix started, half smirking. "'Cause I'm a man of my word," he finished. If he wasn't so numb with cold, his hand would probably be in a lot of pain. Some how though, skating half frozen together on a lake seemed like some kind of odd romantic moment. Well pretty much every moment the two of them had together fell under romantic for Art. Now he really wanted to kiss her again like he had last night. But they would both fall with so much multi tasking going on.

Maron and Aaron didn't have any relationship with each other, other then completely despise each other. Ever since Maron had met him she'd been wary of the man, he unnerved her. And Aaron didn't like Maron's reactions to him. A never ending cycle of annoyance and hatred in a way.
"That's what I was afraid of." So there was no change of him letting go of her now. Normally she wouldn't mind, but that did mean when he fell, she'd be going down with him. But... she didn't seem to mind to much. Sure, it would probably hurt but she was with Phoenix right now.

A crooked smile flashed across Art's face. He did his best in curving the blade's on his boots so that he was in front of her and facing her. Being the bad ice skater that he was, he was only a few inches away from Maron. He'd meant there to be some kind of two feet distance between the two of them. Then they could both talk and be facing each other. It's not like he was complaining though. Even if it was cold, their intermingling body heat was enough to keep them both warm at the moment.
"No need to worry," Phoenix told her as his wavy blond hair took on a slightly orange tint. It seemed like only a few hours ago they were in a situation similar to this. Well, minus the cold, ice, and skates. They were both gently gliding on the ice, moving toward the center.
