It wasn't that she didn't know what Phoenix meant. Quite the opposite. She knew. She just wanted to make him think she was clueless. Make him embarrass himself by being so specific. It was cute when he was embarrassed. "Oooh. I see it now." She was smiling again, but her own embarrassment was starting to show. That wasn't supposed to be happening! But, Phoenix was being rather straight forward about his want...
The storm really had picked up, which didn't surprise Maron. Storms blew in daily here. Some worse then others. And this one? Seemed like a doozy. It would keep people locked up in their rooms or off in the kitchen for cups of hot chocolate. No one would come to disturb Maron... and Phoenix.
She closed her eyes, the precaution she always took, before leaning in and kissing him once on the cheek. Lightly, softly. A tease of a kiss. Pulling back, she smirked a little, before leaning forward again, her lips finding his with ease. Soft and tender.

Art didn't really have time to respond, nor did he want to. He himself smiled during the brief pause. So she had known all along? Well that was quite a tricky move on her part. So she'd wanted to embarrass him? Well that had worked. He was in disbelief at how straight forward he'd been himself.
Kissing Maron was fun, pleasant; probably the best sensation ever. Way better then cliff gliding. It was like a sunny day, curled up with a good book. That content feeling you had where you could do something without getting bored or dis satisfied, ever.
Phoenix leaned forward on one hand. Intensifying the kisses. If kissing was fun then 'making out' had to of course be even funner.

Phoenix wasn't alone in being embarrassed. Who would have thought she'd have such a straight forward 'boyfriend'. Was that really what they were? He hadn't asked if she wanted to be his girlfriend or something, it just.... happened. Did he need to verbally ask her though?
Maron was suddenly glad Conner was off on his honeymoon. He'd probably giver her a 'I told you so' talk if he found out about Phoenix. She wanted to delay that as much as possible...
But, alas, when you were kissing someone you're thoughts tended to falter and drift away. Such a consuming practice kissing was... But Maron? She didn't care. She liked kissing Phoenix. She didn't care it completely distracted her from what she had been thinking about before. It was full of fire, and quiet passion. A wordless exchange of affections. Nothing was spoken, but so much was said...
Phoenix had never kissed her like this before. Before, they were quick exchanges, silent promises and soft words. These kisses though? Fiery like his hair when it was neon red. Fiercer then the howling wind against her windows. Exhilarating like cliff gliding. And more passionate then any romance movie Maron had ever seen. Not that she watched that many chick flicks....
Maron's hands and arms acted on sheer human instincts, wrapping softly around his broad shoulders and neck, her fingers laced in his hair. They were close, oh so close, but Maron's mind didn't seem to think so. Her arms tightened a bit, pulling him even closer, kissing him just as passionately as he kissed her.

Phoenix was right. Kissing Maron like this was, intense, and hot; amazing. So many emotions were happening at once which made it that much more appealing. Both of their cheeks were flushed. Did that count as glowing? People in love were supposed to glow right? Maybe that was just pregnant women.
Art's hand moved to the small of Maron's back and the other just between her shoulder blades. He held her tightly, but at the same time it was gentle and caring. If it had been cold in the room it definitely wasn't now. This was much better then their small encounters before hand.
It was funny how everything seemed to be on fire between the two of them. She was so small, Art felt so tall as he angled his head downward. His eyelashes brushed against Maron's cheeks. If it was possible to be smiling between the kisses, he would have been.

Intense didn't even seem capable of describing the kisses anymore. The exchanges spoke volumes, but no word was able to fill the pages. Human words would never be able to speak the emotions between them.
Before, Maron might has said she liked kissing well enough, their quick, quiet exchanges so sweet and adoring. Now though? There was no doubt in her mind. These kisses had gone past like. They were addicting. Her mind and lips wishing for more. And Phoenix seemed more then happy to oblige.
If she weren't so distracted by their exchanges, she might have giggled at his eyelashes soft touch. Butterfly kisses they were called, if she remembered correctly. Such a sweet sensation.
The sweet, passionate kisses continued, the Ipod Doc on the desk filling the room with somewhat appropriate music, still on a movie soundtrack shuffle.
Their lips parted for a moment, Maron gasping, and smiling. "Are you feeling any better, yet?" She knew, Phoenix had been eating himself with guilt earlier, as Aaron had healed her injuries. Wicked had made things worse by choosing the moments after to pick on the poor boy, and then he'd had to go through the traumatic experience of trying to find her room. In many ways, Phoenix had had a much tougher night then her.

"I think the question is, are you feeling better?" Phoenix asked, speaking and chuckling softly. He was taking short shallow breaths. That was the probably the actual definition of being breathless. He was surprised by his own actions.
He was sure she'd been through much more hell tonight then he had. Still though, it was adorable how she seemed to care so much. She had almost died and had her arm rebroken. Art may have raced around trying to find her and had been through his own hell. But hers was far worse then his was.

Even being completely breathless didn't stop Maron from laughing softly. "Well... Other than not being able to kick Aaron, I'm one hundred percent healthy." She was still annoyed that he hadn't let her kick the stupid doctor. It didn't help that she'd ended up kneeing Phoenix in the head... But, he hadn't held the grudge for to long.
"Besides, physical injuries are a lot easier to heal then emotional." And Phoenix had gone up against Wicked. That was worse then just about any physical injury Maron could imagine. Not to mention, he'd had it pretty rough with Wicked figuring out their relationship. He'd gotten lucky when Nessa had shown up when she did. Otherwise.. Well, Phoenix wouldn't look as healthy as he did.

"Well, my injuries aren't the ones i care about," Phoenix said, talking softly. He'd forgotten about all of his aches and pains as soon as he'd gotten those picture messages. When Maron mentioned emotional injuries his mind flashed back to Wicked....and Marie.
Art didn't have very long to linger on those thoughts before a massive boom rippled through the sky. His jaw tightened. He felt really silly for reacting the way he did to the weather. When his powers had first activated and he went skidding across the street, there had been a raging thunderstorm.
"Sorry..." he apologized quietly, moving his arms so that they were wresting on Maron's shoulders. "Thunder isn't my thing," Art hung his head, chuckling. A small flash of lightning illuminated the room. His hair had went neon red and spiked downward. It had changed color in the heat of the kiss.
A small, crooked, smile crossed Phoenix's face as he finally caught his breath. It was funny how the Ipod just happened to know the mood of the room. Art bit his lip as he lifted his head up. A cute expression crossed his face as he did so.

If she could, Maron would have glared at him for saying that. "But I care about your injuries." Her look, even though she couldn't see him, was rather worried none the less. She didn't often care this much about others, and she wanted to protect this feeling for as long as possible. Phoenix might not have a deranged sister of Maron's chasing after him, but if those after her found out about him, he'd learn Marie was the least of their worries.
She smiled softly when Phoenix reacted so out of character from the thunder. "I don't like thunder all that much either. I've just learned to deal with it." She moved her arms from around the his neck, and instead wrapped them around his torso, burying her face in his broad chest. "You're not alone though."

Art let out a sigh. They both cared so much for each other. At a time like this, caring so much for another person was a dangerous thing. once again, the only way to describe the two of them as magnets, revolving around each other. He'd had his own share of bad experiences. Probably nothing like the one's Maron had had.
It felt like he didn't even have to respond to her first comment. Like there had been some silent exchange of words. Phoenix's thoughts lingered off. What if they both happened to go swimming or something showing more skin then usual. Maron would see that his upper body was riddled with scars. Not just scars from his cutting, but scars from much worse things.
"Well I hate the thought of being alone, without you," Phoenix said as he welcomed the embrace. Maron's and his breathing were in sync now. Falling in tune with the rise and fall of his chest. Art wrapped his arms tightly around her, wresting his head on hers as he lay back against the lime green wall.
Something about all of this just felt, right. Even after the night from hell, it was this moment that made up for it all. It reminded Art of that time at the beach not to long ago. Again, It was like this moment should just stay frozen in time. Who knew what hell they would be up against tomorrow?

Magnets was a good way to describe them. The attraction, even on their first meeting had just been so strong. How open he’d been with her, how open she’d been with him. No stranger had ever known so much about Maron after such a short meeting. When they’d been apart, that constant nagging in the back of her mind to go see him again. Even the two assaults they’d gone through, couldn’t separate them. Instead, the attacks only seemed the strengthen that connection.
Maron had never felt so in tune with someone. Even Conner. Something about Phoenix… They just worked well together. She knew it was a rather crazy idea, but she didn’t care. That’s just how it was.
They both carried scars. Physical. Emotional. Maybe that was one reason they just worked. Some subconscious knowledge that the other was someone they could relate to, that that was someone who would understand their pain. Maron tried to forget her past, sometimes though, it was hard to fight off the memories. Moments like storms like this. She didn’t like them. They were reminders of pain.
With Phoenix though? The thoughts didn’t come to mind. Thank God… “You won’t ever have to be.” Her voice was wispy, more like a whisper of a breath then words. Her silent promises to Phoenix.

Yea, storms were a not so fun reminder of bad moments in Art's life. He had hooks dug so deep into him. With Maron though, everything bad seemed to be put on hold. He always got this bubbly, warm feeling in his stomach when he was with her. Were those called butterfly's?
He could hear his heart beat in his ear, but in a way it was like it was Maron's too. They probably both could have fallen asleep at this moment. God knew they were both exhausted. Though there was a strange fore that wouldn't allow them to fall asleep.
Phoenix kissed the top of Maron's head, lightly. "and neither will you," he said lightly, quieter then a whisper. The raging storm had turned into a soft, melancholy, rhythmic lullaby. This had probably just worked its way up to one of his favorite nights.
"How did I get so lucky?" Phoenix asked, softer then he thought he could as his lips brushed against Maron's ear. That was truly a phenomena. A mystery waiting to be solved. What had he done to deserve somebody as great as Maron? A small, tired smile tugged at him.

Maron was content. For the first time in her life, truly content. To just stay curled up in Phoenix's embrace, his presence chasing away the memories storms caused, his arms keeping her warm, his words soothing and soft... She could stay like this forever! To never have to face the outside world again. It was a fantastic dream.
She smiled a little as she felt his lips touch her again, though her own lips seemed a bit envious that they hadn't gotten the attention. But, the protest was quiet. God, laying here like this made her realize just how exhausted she was! Aaron's healings just sapped all your energy, not to mention the day had already been quite draining as is! It was a surprise Maron hadn't crashed yet! None the less though, she was feeling the affects of her sleep deprivation now. Just like Phoenix must be.
"How did both of us get so lucky." She was quick to correct him. After all, she'd been the one always thinking she'd never fall in love with anyone! She was just as lucky as him! After everything that had happened to them in their short time together, it was more then luck that they were together. It was a sheer miracle.

Sleep deprivation was most definitely affecting Phoenix. Being so content with each other, it wouldn't be long now before both of their blinks were being prolonged and eventually stopped all together. Somewhere along the way, the power had been struck out. The only source of light in the room which had been coming from the ipod and its dock was now gone.
"I guess.... It was just... meant to be," Art said, yawning lightly as the space between his words grew larger. Uh oh, he was getting pulled under. There was no way that he was going to fall asleep before Maron did. He probably wouldn't have to hold out much longer. Both of their breathing seemed to slow.
A sheer miracle? That seemed like the best way to describe it. There was really nothing else it could be. So if there was a God, this had to be his doing. But then again, it brought up the question, why would God let the world turn into the chaos that it was now. Well, Phoenix was too tired to ponder this anyway. He was completely content in being content.

Maron didn't notice the power going out. She didn't exactly have a chance to notice something like that after all. Not to mention her eyes happened to be closed, her head resting softly against his chest. Each breath he took slowly rocking her closer and closer to sleep's doors. Oh wow sweet sleep sounded...
She could feel, and hear, Phoenix growing weary as well, which didn't help keep her awake at all. If anything it made it even harder to stay awake! Maron would have checked the time by this point, to see just how much time had passed since Phoenix had joined her here. If she had looked, she might have been shocked. The clock had just touched two am, late by both of their standards.
His words barely registered in Maron's mind. Blast this exhaustion. Already she couldn't recall what he'd last said. But, he might not be able to either, if he was just as tired as he sounded. It made her smile a little. Who would have thought that such a perfect, somewhat chaotic day, would end even more perfectly then it had began?
Maron didn't respond. Or more like... couldn't. Her breathing slowed even more, evening out into a slow, soft rhythm. Her arms that had held him so tightly before now loosened a touch, seeming to just relax across his torso now then hold him. At last sleep had claimed it's first victim for the night.
((haha... The last line I wrote makes me laugh. XD And now it shall claim me IRL as well! So tired..... I understand our characters quite well at the moment! *snicker*))
