"Well, I'm just glad you're alright, even though it came out from a bad thing."
He smiled and reached out his hand, taking hers in it. He gave her an odd look when she starting quoting a line from Braveheart. He laughed softly when she bit her lip, still not getting over how cute she looked when she did that. He brought her hand to his lips and gave her wrist a kiss before moving his thumb absently along her knuckles.
"That's ok, I watch too many movies to."

Kaia shrugged. “They may have, but I wasn’t ever really desirable. Always awkward in all the wrong ways. I used to look like a chicken with a big forehead.” She laughed lightly at the memory, glad that her awkward phase had passed.
When he asked what came next, she shrugged once more. “We eat. Then we go back to the hotel. After that we can do whatever. I don’t have anything to do until later tonight. It’s just morning, after all.”
She refilled her cup of tea and sipped at it before finishing the last of her waffles.

"Well, I'm still glad you're alright. Well...as alright as a mutant can be I guess."
He whispered the last part, giving her a small wink as he said this. He began to finish his breakfast, smiling at her every now and then. What would they do for the day? It's not like he had anything major to do anyway.
"Why don't you show me this school you and Alex talk about? I'd like to see it."

She laughed lightly when he asked about the school. He clearly thought that Xavier was extremely imbecilic.
“That kind of a school right in the middle of New York City? No, the school is in Westchester. That’s a fourteen hour drive from here. Where I have to be back her tonight, that isn’t gunna happen. We can always just hang out.”
The waitress returned and Kaia pulled out her wallet.
“I got this. I’m the one who suggested breakfast anyway.”
Kaia would never say it to anyone at the school, but if she wanted to live in the city, getting jobs here and there, she could do it and be successful at it as well until someone decided to produce her and really give her career and jolt, but for now it seemed that the school was the safest place for her.
((I looked it up, Westchester really is a 14 hour drive from New York))

"Wow, didn't know it was that far. I could make it there in less than an hour though."
He smiled, not really wanting to tell Kaia that he was the one that took down the sentinels that attacked the school a few months back. If it hadn't been for him and Devika, the school would've been completely destroyed. As he thought about Devika, he couldn't help but wonder how she was doing. He hoped she was well.
"Would it be ok if I tagged along anyway?"
He really wouldn't mind seeing the inside of the school, having only seen the outside. When the waitress came and Kaia volunteered to pay, he smiled and nodded. He was glad she had money to spend, it was one of the things he didn't have now that his job had laid him off. He had been spending his money on hotel rooms and staying with friends.

She merely shrugged.
"I supposed it would be alright. I'm not opposed to it, but you'd have to find your own way back because I don't think I'll be coming back to the city for a little while. I'm already way behind in my classes so I can't take any more jobs for a while."
Kaia stood and stretched her arms over her head.
"Do you wanna go back to the hotel? I haven't got anything else to do today."

"That's ok, I tend to wander around town anyway."
He shrugged as he stood and stretched, a yawn catching him off guard. He straightened out his clothes before smiling at her, holding out an arm as if to escort her out of the door. The hotel sounded nice, and he wouldn't mind spending more time with her.
"Sure, let's head back."
