It was a warm afternoon for being so cloudy, a summer storm blowing in. Most of the students were heading back to the school, or already there, ready for when the light show started. It probably wouldn't be long now...
For having most the students already in doors, the ground floor of the school was near empty. Most were off in their rooms, hanging out with friends, or down below finishing up their training for the day. A few were still out, taking shelter other places or just waiting for the storm to start wherever they were.
It wasn't completely deserted though. Young Alice had just been 'dropped off' back at the school after being held at the Brotherhood's base for longer then she could recall. She didn't know how long she'd been captive, but it was a relief she was finally back. Sure, most were wary of her because of how out of control she often got, but this place was more home then a freezer. She sat on a couch in the 'living' room, curled up in a blanket with the tv on, switching through the channels, trying to find some way to entertain herself. Normally she'd be out at the boathouse, but with a storm blowing in it wasn't the best idea. It was falling apart after all, not to mention it was a bad idea to be near water when there was lightning going on...

The sound of metal clanking against metal filled the air, as well as clicking and the sound of a gun cocking. Rory was standing alone in the war room, a few guns lay in front of him disassembled as he put them back together and holstered them; hidden underneath his clothes. A sawed off shotgun was hidden up the sleeve of his long sleeved shirt, and a pistol hidden up the other. In one boot was another pistol, and in the other was a combat knife as he walked out of the room and began stalking the halls of the nearly empty mansion.
Lately Rory had been on edge... More so than usual, he was jumpy, and was always checking around corners and staring at shadows. Though he wouldn't tell anyone why. Late this afternoon it was the worst, something felt wrong, and he didn't like it. Professor Xavier had left the mansion, along with quite a few of the X-Men, going to some sort of meeting practically on the opposite side of the world. Though he hadn't specifically told Rory to do it, he had become the watchdog at the mansion while they were away.
Despite it being late afternoon and the sun still up, barely, it was already getting dark because of the massive thunderstorm. So along the lower floors of the mansion, Rory was basically alone as he walked up and down every hall, glancing into the rooms before he made his way to the dorm rooms to check on Freya and the rest of the children in the mansion. It was amazing that only a few months ago Rory could have watched the mansion burn and not blinked an eye... Now? He was armed to the teeth and ready to kill anything and everything that dared threaten them... But what could possibly be stupid enough to assault the mansion? Perhaps he was just being paranoid...

Ariel wandered the mansion, nodding her head to the music in her headphones. Her eyes were closed as she waltzed down the hall, a small smile on her face as she listened. It was in 4/4...then it switched to 2/4...the rhythm flowed through her body, moving her to the beat of the song.
Soon, you could hear Ariel humming...a hauntingly beautiful tune. It flowed through the hall, reaching the ears of many of the students, lulling them to sleep, if they weren't already. Her song was in D natural minor and had it in 4/4 time, which Ariel figured out very quickly...
But soon, she heard footsteps coming towards her and Ariel's song immediately stopped and her eyes snapped open. She saw the guy that was with Freya earlier...were they lovers? Ariel stopped and stared at the guy and giggled, seeing how on edge he was. It was like having another Logan in the mansion. Nothing was ever safe. But she heard his heartbeat...beating so fast. Why? The mansion was one of the safest places to be...
"Excuse me..." Ariel whispered. "What's...going on?"

Jubilee was hungry. Then again, this was no more suprising than the earth having a tilted axis. First, she voyaged into the kitchen, which she raided the school's candy stash...again. She had heard some of the teachers complaining about how much candy the students ate. She was glad that she hadn't admitted that most of the candy actually went into her mouth. After all, if someone didn't need to be mad at her then she most certainly wouldn't.
On her way to the living room with a massive amount of candy stashed in her pockets, she crossed Rory and Ariel, wondering why he was being so...tense.
She was going to ask Rory what was going on, but she didn't when Ariel beat her to the question. She merely reached into an open bag of skittles and poured a handful in her mouth, waiting for the answer before a noise emerging from the darkness caught her attention. She silently placed her plethora of candy on a table and began to wiggle her fingers, becoming ready for using them if she needed to.
((I could go for Jubilee getting kidnapped. She needs something exciting going on.))

(If this is for the Agency, I've already given permission for David to be taken)
"Hold your fire, Lee, It's just me."
David had been spending his time with Ayden and Faolan up in her room, talking and laughing, doing boyfriend and friend stuff mainly. After he had helped her get to sleep, he kissed her cheek and headed out of the room, looking to get some food. He was hungry and had missed dinner with all that happened. He walked into the kitchen in time to see Jubilee heading out. He noticed her pockets were filled a bit more then usual.
He shrugged it off though, figuring she was just gathering snacks for later. He had to admit that he tends to take a few candy bars every now and then himself, so calling her a er would've been the pot calling the kettle black. He made himself a ham and cheese sandwich, making sure to put extra mayo on it. He smiled and took a bite, walking out of the room and heading down the hall.
He turned the corner in time to see Lee react, her fingers flickering a little. He instantly realized she was on edge because of him and made himself known to her. He walked out of the shadows, taking another bite of the sandwich. He smiled, seeing that Alice was back, but that smile faltered a little when he saw Rory. It wasn't that he hadn't seen him before, but he was on edge more then usual.
"Hey Ror, you ok?"

Part of Jubilee was relieved, but another part of her, the part that was fond of blowing things up, was a bit sad that she had to suck her powers back into her body. However, she could always sneak into the danger room if her want for explosions didn’t cease.
“Jesus, David.” she realized what she had done and smirked. “Moses, Adam, and Noah.” Jubilee wasn’t’ exactly religious, but her adoptive parents had been so she knew about the bible. She shook her head and became serious again. “You should know better than to be sneaky around here. I almost made you explode the last time you snuck up on me.” She had befriended David through a mutual candy raid. Jubilee may have been an excellent member of Paragon, but she didn’t know who to turn off her ‘fighter’ sense, which was a good thing in some cases. “And I’m pretty sure I’ve told you to call me Jubilee.”
She extended her bag of skittles to him. “You want some?”

"Activity level is dropping. The targets are moving into the sleeping quarters. Alpha, Bravo... Status?" An emotionless voice spoke out, sounding almost metallic over the communicators. A click over the radio came in, then another, a signal that both teams were ready. "Alpha, move for the power supply, Bravo, cut communications and disable underground escape routes." Two more clicks came in response, and the man turned around to four men that were standing behind him. He gave a slight nod and they began to move out of the trees.
By now, the storm was over the mansion, and between the falling sun and the storm it was very dark outside except for the more and more frequent bursts of lightning. It seemed nature itself was supporting the beings as they moved toward the mansion. Though they were covering the distance between the edge of the forest and the mansion quickly, it was impossible to tell. If one stood on the mansion, and was watching the lawn at just the right angle, perhaps the occasional moving shadow could be seen; otherwise they were practically invisible.
Demons, some called them, those who didn't understand who they really were. Some actually believed they were supernatural entities, others that they were simply skilled mutants, in fact no one really knew who or what they were. The only thing known was their name; Ghosts, and a well earned title at that. No one had ever fought them and lived to tell, even when one was killed there was never even a drop of blood to be found much less a body. Only one man had ever successfully fought them and not been captured, killed, or worse. Though, he was also the man that trained them...
A crack of lightning illuminated the mansion briefly, then a split second later another flash cut open the darkness and revealed a terrible sight. Black figures spread across the outer walls of the mansion, climbing straight up without ropes or ladders, across the roof, and even upside down. It looked as if a swarm of massive spiders were descending on the mansion. However, after another flash of lightning, they were gone...

Rory heard the girl, Ariel, coming long before she actually spoke between the music coming from her headphones in the complete silence of the mansion and his unnatural hearing. All of his senses were peaked right now, listening and looking for even the slightest movement, a shadow out of place, anything no one else would look for. "Nothin's going on... Go to yer room." Rory practically whispered back, not daring to speak loudly.
Not much good it did once Jubilee showed up, then almost immediately after David. Rory didn't jump at the sound David made, or even make much commotion over it. If the people he thought were coming were here, they wouldn't make sounds so obvious, otherwise they wouldn't be as good as they were. "E... Ror-E, not Ror, I've told ye that before... And I'm fine, not go to yer rooms!" Rory said, speaking in a normal tone now, though still as emotionless as ever.
When Jubilee offered David some skittles Rory let out an annoyed sigh, "Oi! Share them in yer rooms! Now go, all of ye!" Rory said a bit more forceful now, he wanted everyone to get in a smaller and more easily defendable place than this hall. As mean as he was sounding it was all for the good of these kids.
As the thunder cracked and the lightning illuminated the entire inside of the mansion momentarily, and caused the lights to flicker, Rory looked up at them; staring at the bulbs above their heads, then let out a sigh. For a moment he thought it was something else. Another crack of lightning and the lights flickered again, "Now really, there's nothing wrong guys... It's just that it's almost curfew and with the professor puttin' me in charge and all... I want to make sure I do me job right..." Rory said, a bit more politely.
He got behind David and trying to herd all of the kids out of the hall, as if shooing them away when the lights suddenly cut out in the mansion putting them all into pitch black darkness. Rory could still barely see, mostly in black and white, due to his powers. Now he was really antsy, his heartbeat rising though he was still calm and collected outside. It appeared as though the lights went out from the lightning. But what made Rory nervous was that when the lights went out for good, they had done so a split second before the last lightning struck... Not after. "Get to yer rooms, now!" There was no mistaking the seriousness in his voice, "Jubilee, use yer powers to light the way, and all of ye stay together... Now go!"

"He's just being paranoid."
Rory had been acting extremely strange that day, and after his last trip to their room to check up on her, she'd finally grown fed up with it. She hadn't been feeling that well that day, and been spending the day in bed. It didn't take her long to get dressed and head down the hall to figure out what he was up to. Most the students were off in their rooms, only a few wandering the halls, two even questioning Rory, an X-man joining them.
Freya could be sneaky when she wanted to, but when you tried to sneak up on Rory and a sound mutant, it was impossible. She still tried though. Before anything else happened though the lights went out. When that happened Rory was all business. Great. This storm was freaking him out, or he knew something they didn't. "Love, don't go scaring the poor students..." She was near his side now, lightly reaching out to touch his arm and smile softly.
She waited a few moments, gazing curiously at him, a hint of worry visible as well. Freya lowered her voice a bit so only he would be able to hear her. "Are you alright..? What's wrong?"

Admittedly, Rory did jump very slightly when he heard a voice behind him. He wasn't expecting anyone to come from behind him, though he didn't turn around and instead kept trying to force the kids out of the hall. Just as when David had made a noise, he knew that the voice behind him wasn't a threat even if it did startle him. The people who was worried about made no sounds, made no mistakes, and didn't show themselves even after everyone was dead.
"I'm not being paranoid, now all of ye go!" Rory said, pointing in the darkness... He forgot that he could see but they couldn't. He leaned toward Freya and spoke quietly, "They should be scared... and I thought I told you to stay in the room?" Rory said very quietly, he was starting to care about the well being of these kids... However, Freya was far more important than even them, to him.
If the lights were out, that meant communications were going next. They would probably take out the land lines, then set up jammers to shut down the cell phones and X-Men communicators. Thinking of it made him pull the communicater the Professor had given him off his belt. He let out a soft sigh seeing the light still on, on it... Until it shut off. A chill went down his spine, he was right... How he hated being right, "We're not alone anymore..." He said, despite speaking so quietly the slight fear in his voice was apparent.
Fear was something that no one in this mansion had ever seen or heard from Rory yet, "Make sure the students get to their rooms, I'm going to make sure no one else is out of their rooms." He hated sending Freya off alone, but it had to be done. "Use yer powers to get rid of the shadows. Never let there be shadows." If there were no shadows, it was harder for the Ghosts, and Freya would have a better chance of surviving... Better chance... Those words made him regret sending her away even more.

"Ok ok, Rory, sorry."
He smirked, always enjoying getting under Rory's skin with his personal nickname for the man. But something began to feel wrong when Rory got behind him and began shooing them towards their rooms. He took a look at Jubilee, her face fading when the lights went out, and coming back on for only a moment.
"See? Nothing to be worried about. Just a storm."
He smiled at Rory, but then the lights went out again, and this time he could tell something was wrong. It wasn't just the sound of Rory's voice that bugged him, but something in the pit of his stomache caused him to be on guard. He looked to Jubilee when Rory said to use her powers to get some light.
"Better do it, I don't like the looks of what's going on."
He jumped a bit when he heard Freya, forgetting she had stopped in to see Rory earlier. He looked at Rory's com, watching the light go out. When Rory told Freya to lead them to their rooms, he activated his powers, causing him to be completely stone. Thankfully the mansion was able to take any and all weight, and he had learned to step quietly even in his stone form.
"Powers on guys, I don't like the feel of this."

Jubilee was a little annoyed when Rory ordered them into their rooms…again. Granted, normally she didn’t disobey orders…from Logan or Heather. Or even the professor when he gave them to her. But Rory? He may have been an authority, but Jubilee still didn’t see him in that light. Not yet at least. Besides, there were always the random students who couldn’t fall asleep and resorted to wandering the halls. No one had ever gotten in trouble for it. The curfew had always just been for wandering the grounds, not the mansion itself.
“Rory, you really need to calm down. Maybe you could use some skittles. I have a bunch of them. Normally I’d keep them for myself to last me a day or two, but it seems like you need them even more.”
When the lights flickered out, her fingers began to glow slightly, getting ready to illuminate the spaces of darkness when the lights. They came back on and she was going to douse her light, but illuminated the dark once they died for good, before Rory could tell her to turn the light on.
“I’m already ahead of you.”
Dispite how playful Jubilee was, she knew when to be serious. He told her to expand her light and she did, bringing a bright pink glow over the corridor, stretching as far as she could extend it. “Nuh huh. I may still be in Paragon, but I can hold my own. I’m in training for situations like this. You’re not just going to send me off to my room. I can help, and I’m going to. I refuse to cower in my room like an abused animal. I’m staying out here and helping whether you like it or not.” Jubilee made the light illuminate the place from her body, dropping her skittle and pulling flickering balls of energy from her hands and ordered them to float above her palms, ready to blast anyone that didn’t belong in the school, ready for anything to happen. She had to be. She suddenly had a great deal of pressure on her. Currently, she was the only source of light. She could doom or save them, and she knew it.

Rory really was acting strange, as if he were expecting someone, or something, to jump out and attack them. Now, that wouldn’t have surprise Freya if that did happen, seeing as both she and Rory were trouble magnets… But it still worried her. He wanted everyone gone and out of the way…
“You did, but when you act like this, I had to come make sure you were alright.” For the moment she seemed to have forgotten about the students, but was carefully keeping her voice quiet enough that only Rory would be able to hear her.
His next comment gave her a reason to worry though. Something was happening, and Rory had figured it out before he even knew what it was. “Alright…” Looks like it was no use arguing with him. She turned to look at the students, who were already ready for whatever was coming. “Come on, both of you.” Her attention was focused on Jubilee, her eyes suddenly narrowed as her mood swung around from worry to almost rage. “The key word being ‘in training’. If this is as bad as you guys are making it, then you should be up with the other students, who aren’t training for these situations.” Everything in the hall lit up, far brighter then Jubilee had made it. Fires were lining the walls, diminishing all darkness from the place, just like Rory had asked.

Fear, fear was a good thing to feel when there were Ghosts around. Sure, against certain opponents and in certain situations bravery was admirable and could actually save a person's life. Against other combatants, fear was sometimes the only way to survive and surviving was all anyone had ever done against the Ghosts. There were no victors in a fight against them, only losers and those who were smart enough to run when they had the chance. They were the best of all the Agents, perhaps not the most devastating in combat, but undoubtably the most lethal and now the mansion was their playground.
In only seconds after entering the mansion, the black suited Alpha team had made it to the bottom floor of the mansion, underground; walking past several of the people still awake in the mansion without being noticed. They found the main power converter quickly, as if they already knew where it was, and placed a small and charge on it. Waiting for when the next clap of thunder came, the blew the converter and the lights went out in the mansion.
As soon as the lights were out, Bravo team was already in position on the roof, in front of the mansion, behind it, and hidden on every floor of the building inside. Then, simaltaneously set up small, nearly invisible to the naked eye, transmitters and turned them on. All communication was now out, from cell phones to pagers, and even iPods would be shut off; everything except for Agency equipment. Now it was Echo teams turn to start tagging and bagging the marked mutants.
Inside the mansion fifteen men began to move as silent as whispers as Bravo and Alpha joined up with Echo team. Though, none of them were together, each Ghost was moving seperately through the mansion, yet still as a team. A few were upstairs in the dormatories, others in the building across from the mansion, some on the second floor, some on the ground floor, and some underground just in case. Whether the people in the mansion knew it or not, the Agency was now in control; or so they thought.
As Bravo began sneaking into the men's rooms and into the women's, preparing to assassinate and kidnap the students while they were asleep, Alpha was moving through the halls of the ground floor while Echo prepared to move in and take out Rory. An Alpha team agent already found one of their priority targets, Alice Holmes. Alone in the pitch black living room. The Agent snuck in, but never set foot on the ground. Small claws protruding from his fingers and two from the boots on his feet allowed him to cling like a spider to the ceiling as inch by inch he moved without a sound until he was directly over Alice.
Pressing his feet firmly into the ceiling he released it with his hands, hanging down like a bat only inches above Alice. Slowly, the claws on the gloves of either hand began to slowly extend, and out of the palm of the glove on both hands, the tip of a needle stuck out as the man began reaching for her neck, about to plunge the needles into her. Between the black full body suit that the man was wearing and the darkness in the room, he was confident that he was about to capture the small girl.

Alice had noticed when the lights went out, but didn't think anything of it, just that the storm that was brewing had knocked them out. She didn't care at all though! If anything she was almost.... overjoyed the lights went out! Such a strange girl she was. It did bug her though that the tv had been knocked out with the lights though, leaving her with nothing to entertain herself....
Several minutes passed.... When something strange reached her ears. No sound that anyone could hear but her, soft whispers in the darkness. But not the usual 'Go kill someone' type of whispers that she had when all was silent. No, the shadows were telling her of intrusions. Men hiding in the darkness. Using her shadows for cover. And that did not make her happy one bit.
She waited patiently though, for one of her trespassers to come her way. She didn't have to wait long...
One was in the room now, on the ceiling, interestingly enough. Suddenly she smirked, looking up just in time to stare up into the hidden face of a man, hanging upside down, reaching to stick a needle in her neck. "You're in my shadows."
The shadows that had kept the man so well hidden suddenly seemed to turn on him, as if leaping into the three dimensional world and wrapping around the man tightly. Alice just tilted her head, staring at him curiously, her eyes almost completely black, as if staring into black holes.
