Max laughed. "It's fine, go have a good time. Don't worry about me." Max smiled and nodded at Remy. Even though Alex wasn't Max's date it was a good cover up for his secret, he knew it was the hardest thing in the world and decided to wait for a better moment than a party where he might spoil the mood a bit. Plus more people would accept him if they got to knew him before he revealed his secret to the mansion. He was so nervous about revealing it and he didn't want anyone to treat him differently. He looked at Remy again and smiled, it was nice to talk to a variety of people. Alex and Remy seemed to be nice people and he hoped he was in some of their classes but he had no idea what he was doing yet alone what classes he's in. But he wandered for a second, he was trying to remember everything his counselor told him, don't smile at guys too much and don't seem overly camp but not overly butch either. He found this really hard as it wasn't exactly something he done naturally so he stopped smiling and waited for Alex and Remy to go and dance.

When the music slowed, Ayden couldn't deny that she was a bit let down, but she only stood still with her hands planted on her hips in an annoyed She shook her head suddenly as if to get the thoughts out of her head, but Logan's thoughts caught her attention. She scowled in his direction and while Wolverine's eyes were still on her, she forced David's face in Logan's direction before pulling the mask up. She pulled David's mask down oncwe she was certain that Logan saw who it was and stuck her tongue out in his direction.
"Sometimes I hate hearing everything."
She mumbled before putting herself into David's arms for the slower dance. Her eyes darted around the room and she couldn't help but to not feel at home anymore. Well, in all honesty she never really felt at home in the mansion. Ayden couldn't even remember the last place where she had felt at home. It would probably take more thinking back to find it than she had time for. That actually wasn't true. She felt at home down in Louisiana, but she had only been a kid then.

"Don't worry, I'll get her back to ya safe and sound."
Remy smiled as he led Alex out onto the floor and began to dance with his young friend. David was taken by surprise when Ayden lifted his mask up and scowled at Logan, who just gave his usual half smile and winked at her. When David's mask was back down, he could see that she was a bit bummed by the fact that the music slowed.
"What's the matter? Don't want to have a little slow dance with me?"
He smiled under his mask, taking her into his arms and beginning to move her around the dance floor. He wasn't as graceful as Logan was, or as carefree in his moves as Remy, but he was pretty good at slow dancing. Mainly because he was trained by his mom on how to dance with a lady back when he was a young kid. He almost had himself a friend back there, but after his parents everything seemed to die with them. He couldn't help but feel a little homesick, but shrugged it off as he continued to dance with Ayden as the music continued.

Ayden exhaled a sigh into David’s chest. The slower music just seemed to remind her that things were changing and wouldn't stop changing. She wasn't upset about it being a slow dance. She just didn't want time to her thoughts. Not here anyway. Her eyes scanned the hall and she bit her lip, her fangs hanging over her lower lip.
"Can we leave?"
She didn't look up at him with this question, mostly because she was certain that he would assume she was just talking about leaving the dance. That was not the case. Ayden wanted to leave New York. Even in the most empty and dead space of New York her mind was always flooded with the thoughts of others. Thoughts she didn't want to hear. Granted, there would be thoughts everywhere. Terrible thoughts including terrible things, but there were other places where people didn't overthink things quite so much. Granted, everyone would think, dispite what their actions would display, but there were places and people where her mind wouldn't be so manipulated and polluted by them. She could feel herself changing and she was afraid that if she didn't flee then soon there would be nothing else left of her. She'd never admit it, not even to her grandfather, even though she was pretty sure he already knew.

He could tell from the sound of her voice that something was bothering her. He wasn't sure why, but he had a feeling it had something to do with the school. He knew she never really liked it here much, and to be honest he wasn't too fond of it either. Personally he would've rather went back to the runaways and stayed with them. He looked down at her and kissed the top of her head.
"Sure, let's go somewhere. Should we take Faolan to?"
Why had they come to the mansion anyway? He tried to think back to find the reason. Back before his sister came back, back before Cain, back before he even saw the school. The more he thought, however, the more he couldn't remember how they ended up here in the first place. He had met Ayden when he joined the runaways, and after only a few weeks of knowing her he had lost her. Before he knew it, he was wandering into the grounds of the school and there she was, as happy to see him as he was to see her. Maybe that's where they should go, maybe they should go back to the runaways.

Once he said sure, that was all she needed to hear. She clasped his hand and pulled him out of the danger room and back into the hall. She had not even fully absorbed his words until they were out of the room.
“If you’re talking about ‘leave’ the same way I am, then of course. I want to get the hell out of here. No more school. No more stupid drama, no New York, none of this stupid shit. I hate this place and it’s sucking everything out of me and I just can’t take it anymore!”
She stopped mid-stride and released his hand in order to bend over and unbuckle the miniature brass buckle on the thin straps on her shoes, kicking her feet out of them and scooping them up, wincing as another migraine began to pound at the base of her skull. They were getting worse. She didn’t know why. Once she got to her door, Faolan was able to feel her distress and she could hear him whining and scratching at the door. She opened the door and walked past the wolf after assuring him that he shouldn't take it personally. There should have been a bottle of pain killers in here somewhere. She threw her shoes on the ground and dug through her drawers before she found the bottle. It was almost empty, but it had three pills left. That would be enough, but she would have to restock them or get the other bottle back at her appartment, but she didn't want to go there. If things were wearing on her mind here then it would only be worse in the city. Much worse.

Alex giggled as Remy took to her to the Dance floor, the Song being slow Alex stayed in Remys Arms as they danced. As they danced she tried to remember the last time she had gone to a dance like this at all. Not why she was in school for sure so it would of been when she was younger and she would of been dancing like this with her dad something he’d never dream of doing now seance he believed she was dangerous she pushed the idea away and looked up at Remy he was so carefree she wondered if ever worried about anything or if life was just a big party for him and how he acted when he was younger did he have lots of girl friends was that why he had such charm is he hard lured if you give girls a little attestation then they will melt in your arms.Alex felt she knew nothing about Remy just his name and the fact that he was form New Orleans and called her Petite witch was now her new favorite nickname that anyone had given her Alex knew the Age difference between her and Remy would seem a little odd to people but Alex didn’t care what they thought as they danced she bite her lip not really enjoying the slinlce between them “Remy or an excellent dancer do you go to a lot of partys”

He was more then a little shocked, but not surprised, when Ayden pulled him out of the danger room. As they moved down the hall, he watched her curiously. He then followed her after she took off her shoes and up to her room, he knew what she meant even when she told him. They were both going to leave the school behind, and as he watched her shuffle through her room to find whatever she was looking for, he reached down and scratched Faolan behind the ears.
"Ayden...I was thinking. Why don't we go back to the runaways? The only reason we're both here is because they found out you were Xavier's daughter right? So let's go back."
He wasn't sure if she would go for that idea, but he couldn't help but hope. He wanted to get away from all of this, even if it ment leaving his friends behind. He never really found this place home, just a burden. He was too use to traveling and being a wanderer to settle down and actually live somewhere, but the thought of going back to the runaways had been sitting in the back of his mind for a while. Would she go for it?
Back at the party, Remy was still dancing and smiling as he entertained his little dance partner. He gave her a curious look when she bit her lip, wondering what thoughts could be playing inside her head. When she asked him, he just smiled gently at her.
"I'm from New Orleans, of course I go to alot of parties."

Ayden swallowed a lump in her throat when he mentioned the runaways. It wasn’t that she didn’t like it there, it was just…it wasn’t home. She had never really had any friends there to begin with. The main reason she had come to the school was because of her grandfather. She hadn’t known why Tokra had come, not then and not now. Frankly, she didn’t care all that much. Finally, she shook her head.
“The Runaways are for people that are too dangerous to be out in the open. We’re not anymore. Probably a perk of this hell hole, but if we went back there for their help and their protection when we didn’t need it…that would just be selfish.”
Faolan bounced away from David and nuzzled against her leg. She weakly stroked his head and she held her own.
“I’m miss the sun and the trees…it’s been way too long since I’ve seen either in their rightful place. We can easily blend into human society as long as it’s not too big and busy. Can’t we just…leave all this behind and try to be normal? All I want is a little house with a yard for Faolan to play in. Maybe some plumbin’ and electric problems. I just want a home. I don’t wanna run anymore.”

He didn't know what she meant by the runaways being a selfish thing to go to, but he had to agree with her logic. The runaways were like mutants who had no boundries and did what they wanted, but were more responsible with their powers then the nightshades or the brotherhood. But what she said next really threw him off. She wanted to be normal?
"Um...won't that be a little difficult? We're mutants whether we want to be or not."
But as she spoke about being out in the country with the nearest population far enough away to leave them alone, he couldn't help but picture it in his head. A small house in the middle of nowhere, Faolan running around like a pup in snow without people scrutinizing or judging them. Being able to use their powers or not of their own choice and not worry about what others say. It sounded like a dream, but could it be a dream come true? Can they really live a life that many want but very few got? The more he thought about it though, the more he smiled.
"I like that idea. Let's see what we can do."

She saw the snow in his head and shook her head. Ayden hated snow more than anything.
“No matter where we go or what we do we’ll have to hide what we really are from everyone else. What the hell do you think this school is for? Here people just notice that fact less because we’re surrounded by people like us. It seems like a perfect little world, but it’s just a place where we can hide until we’re found out…again. I don’t think it’ll be long before the shit’ll hit the fan…again.”
As Ayden thought back, she remembered something she had forgotten a long time ago. Had her head not been hurting to bad she would have gasped, but instead, an awed expression snuck onto her face.
“I think I need to find a lawyer.”
She didn’t want to sue anyone, she just needed to see if she had been in her father’s mother’s will. If she was then she imagined that part of the dilemma was solved. Ayden stood up and scratched Faolan behind his ear.
“Come on, boy. We’re goin’ home.”
Faolan froze for a moment before yipping excitedly and bounding at the door, waiting for her to rush after him to the nearest car she could hotwire.

"A lawyer? What for?"
At first he was thinking she was going after someone, but he couldn't really put a finger on who she would want to go after, besides maybe Mystique, but he doubted she would be able to get anything from that . But he had to admit he agreed with her logic. He wouldn't mind living free and without rules or boundaries anymore and be able to do whatever they wanted, but something stopped him.
"Wait, what about Megan?"
He had almost forgotten about his sister, even after she had found him after all this time. He had promised to never leave her again, but he wanted to get out of the school for got and be on his own again, with Ayden and Faolan of course. He didn't want to leave Megan behind again and leave her wondering where he was again. When Ayden said that they were going home, he watched Faolan run after her like a puppy. He followed her out, but couldn't help wondering about his sister more. He finally headed to Megan's room and wrote a small note, telling her how she could get in touch with him again. He slid it under her door and went back to where Ayden was.
"Alright, let's go." he said with a smile.
