Parker carried his heavy backpack while walking up the steps, hearing thousands of voices in his head from all the students and professors inside. He heaved a big sigh and kept moving. Parker knew that people would start to suspect him at first, because he was a Nightshade. But his cousin Rose told him that he would like it here at Xavier's school. Parker heaved another sigh. It was useless to come to school! Numerous well-known colleges have literally begged him to apply to their school (like Yale, Princeton, Harvard, etc.) And he hadn't even attended high school before. This was his first day to any sort of school and the only reason he came was because of Rose.
"Oh, Rose...I hope you're right." Parker was nervous and he was never nervous. He had already located Rose inside the building and attempted to make her aware of his arrival. Rosie-chan! I'm here!

Rose's mind seemed to vanish, which Parker would be rather used to. If she hadn't done anything to 'waste' her power, she was able to use her force fields inside her own mind and hide it from telekinetics. Quickly and rather sneakishly she snuck out of the school, over the fence, and down the street. She quickly raced down the side walk, through the still open and flung her arms around Parker's shoulders from behind, literally hanging on her slightly taller, but barely older cousin. "You made it! Does... Does Shadow know you left...? What about the Elders....? You didn't let them know you left right?!" She seemed to pale, suddenly terrified that their family had found out about the second betrayal in the family.

Parker smiled when he felt Rose's arms around him from behind. When she asked him about Shadow and Elders, feeling her panic, he just chuckled.
"Don't worry, Rosie-chan. This is me you're talking to. You know...Parker? I fooled them into thinking I'm going to college." Parker smiled, proud of himself. "You know I can outsmart them! Who do you think I am?" He then walked to the door with Rose. "Rose...am I doing the right thing, coming here? We've been warned of these people all our lives. And what if they hate me? I'm not as likable as you, Rose." Parker shrugged. He continued to listen to the various voices in his head, but tuned them out for the moment.

Rose sighed, unwrapping her arms and stepping up next to him, a not so convinced expression on her face. "You may fool the elders.... But this is Shadow we're talking about. Who spends a lot of time with Sky. Sky can recognize your mind 'fiddling'." She paused when he asked about making the right choice in coming, quickly picking up her pace to walk side by side with him. "Warned, not really. More like informed. We were always told they were the enemy, nothing more. We were also told that there was nothing wrong with killing people, or destroying everything in sight." She paused once again. "Not many people like me here either. I'm not trusted by most of the people around here, that or they just ignore me. Even here, where our family has not touched, carries scars towards us..."

Parker shrugged when Rose mentioned Sky. "I used the ultimate trump card...you. You know how Sky has a soft spot for you. And we've gotten along since you're her sister. The only condition she had for me leaving the family was that I HAD to look after you. That was the only reason she let me go and to not let Shadow know. If I broke that promise, she threatened to kill me herself." He laughed at this and continued up the steps. "But she knows how much I care for you. Anyway, since no one trusts both of us, we'll just stick together. That way, I can guarantee your safety." Parker smiled and walked through the door of the school.
"By the way...are the professors ok here? I looked up this school and they were kinda vague...I dunno. I feel like it's useless to come here...for me, I mean." Parker chuckled a little and looked around the school. "Um...are there supposed to be...professors to welcome me here?"

Yes. That would be me. Welcome, Parker Nightshade. The old and wise voice that belong to Professor Charles Xavier echoed through Parker's mind, which would probably shock him that he hadn't noticed this mind earlier. Professor Xavier steered his chair from his office, which was off to the side of the front door. He smiled softly to the new Nightshade resident they had taken. "I'm sure you will find the accommodations here standable, though not to those you are used to. And you will also discover that the staff here is quite capable. Only the best for our students. Actually, I'm sure Mrs. Evans is rather eager to meet you. Her and Mr. Evans of course. I'm sure you've heard of them. Mrs. Hazel Frost Evans and Mr. Oliver Evans." Both were renowned scientists, exceptionally brilliant, and masters in their fields.

Parker didn't notice Professor Xavier approaching, since he was tuning everything out and focusing on Rose. Out of reflex, he examined the professors mind very quickly. But then Parker heard the professor mention that the Evans were here and immediately stopped.
"The Evans? Really?!" Then he sighed.
"You're the famous Charles Xavier? We're Nightshades and yet, you still let us come here?" For some reason, Parker couldn't keep suspicions out of his mind that this professor was doing this for some complex reason that he wasn't aware of. But Parker tucked them away anyway. He didn't feel any hostile and deceptive thoughts from the old man. And he could feel this professor examining him as well, but Parker didn't bother putting up his usual defenses.

Parker wouldn't have gotten very far with his mind probing, Charles putting up defenses of his own to it, though if Parker were to try harder he could have easily tore the blocks down. "Yes. I believe Hazel is off seeing after some students who just finished a Danger room session, and Oliver is down in the Computer room, working out some problems in the system." He paused momentarily, clasping his hands together and leaning forward slightly. "I don't think that is the proper question. It matters not who, or what, your family is. As I've already told young Rose here. We are a school, to all mutants who desire our assistance, no matter where they may have come from, or their backgrounds."

Parker felt the feeble defenses Xavier put up, but he didn't want to intrude, out of politeness. He knew that he was a telepath too.
"Thank you for taking care of Rose. And thanks for letting me come. Can I be shown my room?" Parker was a bit brief and got right to the point sometimes. He wasn't really chatty, except around Rose. He sometimes had to keep himself in check, so that he didn't answer people's thoughts for them. Parker examined the professor again, sensing that that Xavier was sincere.

Professor Xavier slowly nodded. "Of course. Rose can show you. And while she's at it, I'm sure she'd be more then willing to give you a tour of the school." He softly smiled once more. "Well, I must be going. I have some important business to attend to. If you'll excuse me." Charles nodded in farewell before spinning his chair around and returned to his office to continue with his work. Though he did pause before closing the door. "Oh, and by the way. Welcome to my school." He smiled again, before shutting the door.

Rose had remained silent through the conversation, not wanting to intrude. She knew the two were probably probing each others minds, which wouldn't be to surprising for either of them. When Professor Xavier 'asked' if she would show her cousin to his room, and give a tour, she quickly nodded. "Oh, of course. More then happy to. Besides, best if I do it and not one of the more... colorful students around here." She didn't pay to much attention as the Professor retreated back to his office, quickly taking Parker's hand in her own and tugging softly. "Come on. We'd best get be out of here before Mairead finds out a 'newbie' is here."

Parker nodded as Xavier headed off, a serious look on his face as he did so. But it completely vanished when Rose took his hand to lead him through the school. When she mentioned Mairead, Parker smiled.
"You mean the vampire? I heard her earlier, with the boys Ace and Kolm. Yeah, she certainly seems the type to torture newbies at this school. She's a fireball, that one." Now that he focused on it, Parker could hear everyone very clearly. Rika with Ryu and Neji, Oliver Evans down in the computer lab, and the three troublemakers arguing, with Kolm vaguely wondering what Rika was doing. Parker felt that he knew everyone at the school already. He could feel the other telepaths as well. He could feel them recoil as he touched their minds with innocent curiosity.
"This is an interesting school. I certainly hope the other students won't hate us that much."

Rose laughed softly. "Yeah, she's been called a vampire, if only because she's violent like one. She tries to kill all the new students, as she puts it 'Best to kill them now when they haven't done anything, then after they have done something.', or something like that." She paused for a moment, as if thinking. "They don't hate us. We just make them uneasy." She paused in the living room, stated what it was, before leading off to the next room, repeating the process. She finally led up the stairs to the classrooms. She would open the door to each room, state which subject was taught there, then move on to the next. Even Rose had been surprised by how well equipped the school was, like Parker she hadn't had to high of hopes for the school, but they had really shown her. She finally paused at one of the empty rooms, glancing over at him out of the corner of her eye. They were finally far from prying eyes, and she could quite literally speak freely. "Are you positive no one knows your whereabouts...? We both know Shadow. She hates you, and would want to make sure she knows exactly where you are at all times. She'd personally go to every school to see if you were there.... My guess? She already has."

Parker laughed when Rose talked about Mairead. He then followed her around the school, looking into all the classrooms and listening to his cousin explain about what subjects were being taught in each room.
When Rose asked about Shadow again, Parker got serious. "Sky's on our side this time, Rose. And I've influenced the minds of several Nightmare members, so that when Shadow asks about me, they say that I'm in college. Don't worry. You know I can outsmart my sister. And if she does find out, we'll try to be ready for her. You know the one thing I'm better at than Shadow: strategy. We'll be okay, Rose. I promise."
Parker knew that it would take a lot of work for him to keep Shadow away. And he knew it couldn't last forever. But when his sister came for him and Rose, he would be ready for her.

Rika wanted to go exercise, so she said good-bye to her brother and went towards the door. But on the way, she ran into Rose and some other guy she didn't know. Ryu was right behind her and he stared at the new boy with suspicious eyes. But Rika just smiled.
Hey, Rose. Is this a new student at the school? Ryu just kept staring, sniffing a little.
