The forest always provided a sort of calmness for Clarissa. At the moment she found herself and her silent companion in an empty clearing. She sat perched upon a log of a tree that had long fallen over. It was sunny today and small sun rays could be seen trying to peak their ways through the thick trees.
Clarissa ran a hand through her long blond hair and gave a soft sigh. It was nice to just sit and do nothing every once in a while. Unconsciously she reached over and ran her finger through Sarah's soft short fur. Today she had chosen to lounge about in her panther form but she rarely ever chose to be seen in her human form unless it was important.
She sat poised and her ears would gently flick at the slightest bit of noise so as not to be sneaked upon. A soft breeze rustled through the trees and if she listened hard enough Clarissa could hear the faint sounds of soft purrs filtering through the air from her otherwise silent companion.
All of a sudden Clarissa felt Sarah tense beneath her hand and glanced over at her. "Is someone coming?" Clarissa asked her friend.
'Yes, they are not to far from here. It should be another minute or so before they revel themselves.' said the soft voice of Sarah in Clarissa's mind. Clarissa gave a nod to show she understood.
After a few seconds Sarah calmed and relaxed under Clarissa's soft strokes to her fur. The newcomer posed no threat to her friend and so she saw no need as to why she couldn't relax some more.

Logan walked through the woods, glad to be around the X-Mansion again. As he neared the edge of the forest, he reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a small box of matches. From his other pocket he pulled out a box of cigars. He struck a match and pulled out a cigar to light it. After the cigar was lit, he shook the match to put the flame out. He tossed the match to the ground and stepped on it. Taking a few puffs from his cigar he continued on into the woods.
The scenery around the woods made him feel at home. The suns rays warmed his skin which helped against the chilled wind that blew through the trees. As he went further into the woods, his nose picked up the smell of two different animals. One smelled more human than animal, but he didn't know how. As he shiffed the air more, he continued on. He kept his hands tensed in case he needed to defend himself.

Was that cigar smoke? It was, whoever was coming near them was in fact smoking a cigar. Clarissa relaxed realizing who exactly it was coming in there direction. There was only one person in the X- Mansion she knew that smoked cigars. Clarissa had never actually spoken to Logan but she had seen him in passing once or twice before he left.
She knew he wouldn't harm her. Petting Sarah softly behind her ears she smiled as the werecat purred under her touch. She was just a big lazy cat. People actually became shock when Clarissa mentioned that Sarah actually had a human form. She just figured that if she never used it people would leave her alone and let her just laze on about. So far it worked perfectly.
Clarissa could hear Logan getting closer and stopped petting Sarah who had sat up and turned her attention to where he seemed to be coming from. Her tail flicked curiously back and forth waiting for him to reveal himself. Clarissa had almost asked what had caught her attention about him so, when she remembered that Sarah had never seen him before. Sarah hadn't come to live with her until sometime after he was already gone.
A soft breeze fluttered by flowing through her hair. Reaching out her hand she called to it and watched fascinated as it swirled around her fingers. It had taken her years to be able to control her powers fully. It had been hard work but in the end it had paid off and she was quite pleased with how things had turned out. Both of her powers were in perfect sync and she could command them with ease.
Clarissa had been so lost in thought that she hadn't noticed that Logan had finally entered the clearing until he spoke.

Logan entered the clearing, following the scent. The more he followed it, the more familiar one of the smells was. He had caught a scent of the smell in the X Mansion many times before and couldn't help but form a half smile when the scent came strongest from the clearing. He looked around at the clearing, remembering coming out here many times during his last visit to the mansion. It was one of the places he had came to relax after his dreams plagued him. Relaxing his muscles, he took the cigar from his mouth and licked his lips.
"Ok, I know you're here." he said with his usual tone, "So are we gonna play hide and seek or should I just keep going?"

Clarissa jumped a little when she heard him so close by and turned around. He was standing not to far from her but he couldn't see her as she was sitting underneath some low tree branches. She couldn't help but laugh softly at what he said and stood. Sarah lazily padded behind her as she revealed herself.
"I don't know, I'm rather fond of hide and seek myself; but you would find me too fast with that nose of yours, and where would the fun be in that?" she said laughing.

Out of reflex, when she landed on the earth, he turned with his arms extended, his claws coming out on reflex. When he saw Clarissa, his claws went back into his hands as his arms relaxed. He smiled and walked up to her.
"You shouldn't go sneaking up on a guy like me. It's dangerous." He said, hugging her.
He took a few steps back and looked her over. He could see she had grown from the times he had noticed her. She smelled different, suggesting she had changed in many ways. He smiled as he looked to her, then to the cat. Looking the cat over, he looked to her and nodded towards it.
"Who's the furball?" He asked

Clarissa wasn't scared. Logan often reacted like that when someone snuck up in him. She just waited for him to notice her before she did anything. When he hugged her she gave him one in return and grinned.
"Dangerous is what I do. Life just wouldn't be as fun." she said cheekily.
'He called me a furball. I'd like to show him just how much of a furball I really am." said the panther werecat in Clarissa's mind. Clarissa laughed at her friends antics and smiled at Logan.
"That furball as you so eloquently put, is Sarah. She is a panther werecat; and she didn't appreciate that comment very much." Clarissa said smiling. Sarah sat there eying Logan as her tail flicked in agitation.

"Yeah, but sometimes dangerous isn't always fun." he said, taking a drag from his cigar.
When she introduced her cat as Sarah. As she told him that Sarah wasn't please with what he called her, he just shrugged it off. He knew he could handle a cat, especially one that Clarissa seemed to communicate with. The way he thought of it, is if he could handle Sabertooth, Juggernaut, Magneto and Pheonix, he can handle a cat.
"She'll get use to it." he said.

"Yeah yeah I know." she replied. She knew when it was time for fun and time to get serious. She just liked to think on the brighter side of things.
"Could you cut me some slack though. I'm the one who has to listen to her grumbling all day saying as I'm the only one she will speak to in her panther form. It gets a little annoying at times."
She knew Logan though. He would continue to call her that just to get a rise out of her because he could. That's ok though. Clarissa would figure out a way to get him back... Once she figured out how to get past his nose. Even by diverting the wind his other senses were always in over drive. She would figure out something.
"So, how long are you back for?" she asked curiously. She knew that Logan wasn't usually the type to stick around very long. He was always traveling somewhere.

He gave a small laugh as she asked him to cut her some slack for the cat. He figured her having to deal with her cat's grumbling would almost be like him when he had to deal with Scott day after day. But Sarah's reaction to him did remind him of how much "fun" he had with his late team member. This would be more fun either way.
"I'll think about it." He said with his usual smile.
He thought about her question when she asked him how long he would stick around for. To be honest he wasn't so sure. He didn't think he had any other place to go since the base from his past was destroyed, he got all he could from his place in Canada. The more he thought about it, the more he realised that he was most likely here indefinetly. He just shrugged.
"For a while I guess."

"Of course you would say you would think about it." she replied dryly. "Have a heart." she said pleadingly.
She perked up when he said he would be here for a while.
"Good, it gets boring around her. We need you to get back up with your tormenting of students and other house inhabitants. Except me though." she said pointing to herself. " I get immunity." she said hoping he would agree.

All he could do at her pleading was give her his usual half smile. Taking a drag from his cigar once more, he listened to her explination of how things weren't as "fun" around here without him. Seemed like a lot of things had changed, thankfully for the good. He was glad to come to the mansion and not have to worry about trouble. It was the last thing he was looking forward to her. When she said she got immunity from being part of the tormented, he raised his brow.
"What makes you so special?" he asked.

"Because I just am!" she said in a huff.
Sarah just sat there at there feet watching as they bantered back and forth. 'Finally some entertainment.' she said making Clarissa stop talking to look down at her.
"Oh shut up you!" she replied plucking one of Sarah's ears. If looks could kill Clarissa would be six feet under.
Looking back up at Logan, for he was taller than her, she gave a small sigh looked at him. Finally taking note of the cigar once more she gave him a smile.
"You know just because you can heal yourself doesn't mean you should smoke. Bad habit that is." she said softly. Clarissa had tried smoking once. She didn't like it. She couldn't heal like Logan could but the poisons running through her veins would render any cigarette completely useless if she so chose to take up the habit.
She took a seat on the soft grass and looked back up at Logan patting the ground next to her.
"Sit with me. it's such a nice day out." she said making herself comfortable as Sarah rested her head in her lap. Running her fingers gently through the fur she waited silently to see if Logan would take her up on the offer and sit with her.

Logan smiled his usual smile when she spoke of how she was special. He wasn't sure what the cat, Sarah had said, but watching Clarissa give a pluck at her ears, it no doubt didn't do their conversation any good. When she mentioned about smoking being killing. He took the cigar from his mouth and looked at it.
"There's nothing wrong with smoking cigars." He said, looking at her "Smoking cigarettes, that's a bad habit."
Taking another drag from his cigar, which was almost half way down at this point, he watched her walk towards a small area in the clearing. He raised a brow when she sat down and invited him to join her. He wasn't much for sitting in the dirt, but today he decided to play it easy for a while. Walking over, he sat down next to her, one leg stretched out, the other propped so he could rest his arm on his knee. He looked up at the sky, noticing how beautiful it was out today.

"Of course you would say that." she said with a small laugh.
"I never actually said it was bad for you now did I? I said it was a bad habit." she corrected him while giving him a smile.
When he looked at her and said smoking was bad Clarissa laughed.
"What are you looking at me for? I don't smoke." she said looking playfully affronted.
She smiled when he came and sat next to her and continued to play in Sarah's fur. "I know dirt isn't your thing but it is nice to just sit and enjoy the view every once an a while yes?" she said looking at him.
"Thank you for sitting with me." she added. Clarissa didn't have many friends besides Sarah. She was pretty much a loner most of the time because she didn't really like hanging with others much. There were only a few she would actually speak to on a friendly basis that didn't get on her nerves.
