Blonde hair poked out from underneath the stark white down comforter as the sun peaked into the open french doors. The Spanish air blew in on a breeze and carried with it the smell of the ocean and sand. The latina girl stretched out her arms above her head and yawned as she rubbed the back of her head with her hand. She looked around the room for a second before she swung her legs over the side and walked off in the direction of the bathroom where she filled the vintage, claw legged bath tub with hot water and bath bubbles.
Phoenix walked around her bedroom for a second before she grabbed a towel and threw her over sized t-shirt in the corner. It was one of Victor's shirts that she had been wearing. She had packed it by mistake when she had left him in the states. But she had worn it almost every night since she had left. She had been so angry at him for what he had done. She was still angry at him. He had told her before that he had cared about her and the baby. Not in so many words but she had gotten the meaning behind it. Then he tried to rip the baby out of her womb. That had been the last straw and she had packed up and left. Now here she was in Barcelona, Spain.
Her long, tanned legs took her into the bathroom and she stopped to look at herself in the giant mirror that adorned the vanity that held the sink. Her stomach had grown in the two and a half months she had been gone. It was getting rounder in shape but not too big. She was after all only four and a half months along. She smiled as she touched her stomach and then she walked over and stepped into the tub.
Once she was bathed and ready for the day she put on a flowing top that hid her stomach and a long, white flowing skirt with gold colored sandals. Her blonde hair was let down in waves over her shoulder and she walked to a small cafe for a cup of coffee. As she entered the handsome barista smiled at her and got her coffee ready. he had always tried flirting with her and she was playing along today. She leaned on the counter and twirled her hair as she spoke in rapid spanish to him and gave him a flirty smile before she dropped the money in his hand and walked back out into the sunshine. She was happy here but deep down she missed Victor. She missed the animal in him but was scared for the life of their child to be around that animal right now. So for now here she was in Spain enjoying the sun and the beach. Someplace she could not see Victor visiting.

Victor Creed was a dangerous man. One that was even more dangerous if you ran from him. Like any true predator a fleeing object only enticed him to follow. Phoenix had been gone a little over a week when he realized she hadn't just had a tiff and would return to him. He had been distracted by her absence and after a long diliberation upon himself decided to see what she was up to. The trail was rather cold and with today's way of travel it would be hard to find her. Unfortunately Victor was also quite skilled at hacking computer information. He was able to find the flights she had scheduled and other public means of transportation.
His research had led him to Barcelona, Spain. Spain? Really? It made him roll his eyes but one he made it to Spain he thought about turning back. Why was he really tracking her down? Was it because he missed her? Or was it because he was just suspicious as to what she was up to? For all he knew she could be plotting his demise after the fight they had. Wouldn't be the first time a woman has tried to kill him. Failed, obviously.
For the next month and a half he had followed the woman around. He kept his distance and while she didn't have the keen senses he had, he made sure he stayed quite far enough away that she could remain oblivous to him.
Today was no different, though he was getting a little restless. It seemed all she was doing was vacationing out in the middle of Spain. Boring. Though ideas of brutaly maiming the man she bought coffee from. Probably was just the blood lust talking...

Phoenix shopped for the rest of the day and walked along the beach. She had always loved the beach. One of the only things she really loved in life which was why she had come here. Barcelona was also one of the fashion capitals of the world. They had some of the latest fashions and Phoenix was always about the latest fashions. It got her angry though that a lot of the clothes she bought wouldn't fit because of her belly which was slowly growing in size.
For the past month or so she had been feeling like she had been being followed or watched. Her intuition told her she was but her head told her it was only the locals taking in her beauty. She was conceited and oblivious at times when she shouldn't be. If she wasn't maybe she would have noticed the big, burly man following her and watching her. But she didn't. Her senses were being blurred by the hormones and the satisfaction that she thought she had gotten away from Victor.
The sand clung to her bare feet as she walked from the water to a patch of rocks and trees that made a sort of cove on the coast. She had found this place the first week she had come here. The beach here was usually abandoned and she would be the only one here. She found a spot in the sand that was underneath a tree and sat herself down just watching the water. She was happy that she was here but she was oddly feeling lonely. Her hand strayed up onto her collar bone and felt the scars that were still there and a small amount of pain ran through her chest as she thought of Victor. She missed him in a way. She was so used to being around him everyday that it was weird to not walk in the door of the house she had bought and find him lounging on the couch or working out in one of the rooms or even having his arms around her when she slept. Then she started to feel angry that he hadn't come after her. Little did she know that he had.

Victor had watched over her for this long, he was surprised he hadn't approached her before this. Mainly he didn't want her to think he cared. He didn't care...did he? He was here after all...damn woman.
Once she set herself up under the tree at her secluded spot he finally decided to put an end to all of this. He approached her as silently as possible, which for him was like death itself. He crept up on her until he was standing a mere foot behind her. He watched her for a long moment, just watching her as she thought to herself and felt the scar on her shoulder. He smirked at that. "Miss me, Darlin'?"
Once she'd turn around to look at him she'd see him with that usual confident smirk in place. For all she knew he had shown up that day. Which was good. Maybe he would managed to keep the whole following her around for a month and a half secret.

The sun had been beating down on her tanned skin making her eyes drowsy and her movements sluggish. He mind was moving at a snail's pace and had been straying to times in the past. She saw fire surrounding her, screams, blood, pain, tears. Everything that went with carnage. Her hand strayed lazily to her stomach as she felt a little movement. Her head rested against the tree as she sat there and watched the waves.
She was not expecting the all too familiar voice to stray to her ears. At first she thought that she was dreaming. There was no way that Victor was here. This was the beach. She knew he wouldn't come to the beach. He was more of a mountains and wilderness man. She smiled at the memory of him telling her that she was pregnant. She had been so angry and had wanted to rip his eyes out.
Phoenix stopped her train of thought as she registered the voice. That was no dream. She shook her head and whipped her head around to find Victor standing there in all his glory. How the hell did her find her? She soon realized that was a stupid question to ask herself. He was a tracker. He probably knew where she was the entire time. Why was he here though? She stood up and turned toward him. A confused look on her face. The sleeve of her shirt falling aside to reveal the scars she had just been touching.
"Victor....what are you doing here?"

She had to ask that question didn't she? What was he going to say? That he cared? Not really the kind of answer he wanted to give. That he wanted her to come back with him? That he missed her? Damn woman. He had to think of something fast.
"I could ask you the same..." Ha! Point one Victor. She never told him that she was leaving after all. He knew why she left but he wasn't going to bring that up. Those large arms of his folded over his chest as he looked down at her.
The way the light reflected off of her skin and with the beach background behind her. Even he had to admit that she was beautiful and the scenery only enhanced that beauty. Maybe one day he could admit such a thought to her. You'd think that since she was carrying his child he could admit that..but nah. He may just take that to his grave...given his age perhaps he'd crack before then. But that was yet to be seen.

Phoenix rolled her eyes and turned away from him. He should know why she was here. He was the reason she had left in the first place. Her mind still replayed the events that led to this. His one hand gripping her throat and his other hand with claws bared reaching towards her womb ready to rip the baby out of her stomach. She was still angry with him for that. But she was also happy that their baby had protected itself. It showed that it was a mutant and nothing made her happier right now. Just last week she had started picking up thoughts from the infant. They were only bits and pieces and mostly emotions but Phoenix still heard them.
"You come to find me to try and finish what you started? I think it was clear back home that you don't want this child."
Yes, she was still upset. But she was more hurt emotionally. Her emotions had been rolling around more violently lately. It was tough to keep one emotion still for more than an hour or so now. She looked out at the ocean blinking tears away. Why was she crying now? Every thing made her cry now. But the thought of Victor trying to kill the baby again made it worse. She wanted this more than anything and she was not going to let him take it away from her.
She brushed some blonde hair out of her face and sighed. She still couldn't believe that she was in this position. She never thought that she would find someone that could keep up with her let alone handle her. But Victor handled her more than she thought possible. He kept her on her toes and satisfied every one of her needs. She sighed and looked down at the water as it ran over her bare feet.
"To be honest.....I did miss you."

"Let's go home." That was as close to as 'I missed you' and an 'I'm sorry' she was going to get from him. He was tired of Spain and if she didn't well then he would probably leave without her. She could take care of herself and he knew that. But he had missed having her next to him at night. Perhaps the way he'd clutch her protectively the next time he was able to do such would convince her of his true feelings. If it didn't well then that was her problem. Right?
Certainly she was worried that he'd attempt to hurt her again. But wasn't that the danger before the child? She knew that side of his. The side he couldn't control very well, the side that wanted nothing but blood and violence. Personally he figured she overreacted. It was her fault that the animal came out from him. So why should she refuse to go home with him? But she could still do it.
Why was he attracted to this woman again? Oh right, that latin flare and her own sadistic nature. His claws itched to claw her skin again, though this time in a more 'friendly' manner. Perhaps if he could manage to admit how he felt about her she'd be more willing to come with him. Oh well.

The blonde woman didn't raise her head to look at him. Her eyes stayed on the water that was hitting her feet over and over again. The sun glittered off of it and make it shine against her skin almost like a mirror. Home. They had both called it that. But she wasn't so sure that she could go home with him. She had always known about his animal side. Hell, that was the reason she had fallen in love with him. But now she was scared of it. Not for herself she could handle herself but for the life of her child. She knew if anything should happen again the child would protect itself like last time but it still scared her.
"It's not that simple, Victor. You can't just show up here and tell me to come home."
As far as the latin woman knew, he had jut showed up that day. She had no idea that he had been following her around for the past month. She should have known though. He had marked her and told her that she was his so why wouldn't he keep tabs on her? But right now she wasn't seeing it that way. Right now she was till scared for the life of her child. Their child. But he didn't see it that way. He saw it as only a nuisance. Something that should have been taken care of a long time ago.
She looked down at her stomach as let her hand run across it and smiled as she felt a kick from the small infant inside. Phoenix let her mind wander to that of the child and emotions flooded through her head. The child knew that Victor was there. At first it was apprehensive. Then there was nothing but love flooding from the small mind of the infant. It knew that Victor was it's father. Phoenix smiled for a second then lifted her eyes to look at the man in front of her.
"It...it knows you're here. I can hear it's thoughts now. Well....more it's emotions. It hasn't developed full thoughts yet. It's going to be strong."

"I just did." He hadn't budged from his position. He remained there like a stoic statue with his arms over his chest and peering down at the woman. Would he even take no for an answer? He really wasn't above kidnapping after all. Not that anyone would really miss her enough to report said kidnapping.
He went quiet as she did and then arched a brow to the following comment she made. It knew that he was with them? Interesting. Definitely seemed to have more of it's mother's abilities than his own. But who really knew in the case of genetics. It was a toss up, especially with mutant genes. There were plenty of mutant children that had completely different powers compared to their parents. He stared at her for a long moment, unsure of what to really say actually. "Of course it is, it's ours." That confident smirk returned to his face while he waited for her to give in. Really all she had to do was agree and they could move past this whole thing but she had to be difficult.
"Now let's go." He reminded her the real reason he was there and not the small chit chat about the child.

The blonde mutant smiled as he mentioned that he knew it was going to be strong because it was theirs. She knew it too but she still liked to talk about it. This child was going to be the end of humans ruling the world. It was going to destroy them just like Phoenix dreamed. She couldn't wait to see how this child turned out. It was obvious that the child had inherited some of her powers. She was curious to see what powers if any it had gotten from Victor.
She looked at him with narrowed eyes as he mentioned them going home again. Did he not get it? It wasn't going to be that easy. She couldn't just forget what he he had tried to do. What was to stop him from trying again? The wind whipped her blonde hair around her as she stared at him. Would he try to make her go with him? Of course he would. He didn't come all the way to Spain for the scenery. He came for her. In a way it made her happy. He had given her space and then had come after her to get her back. It showed that he cared for her in some way even if he wouldn't admit it. But she wanted to hear him say it. She had told him that she had loved him. After hours of thinking about it she knew that he had heard her. His hearing was too good to have not heard her.
"Victor, you don't get it! How can I trust you around this child when you have already tried to kill it once before?"

"I've killed a lot of people...and that didn't stop you from being by my side before." He wasn't considering the child any special case. Xavier one time said that he wasn't a monster because while he seemed the contrary, he was remorseful for every killing he had done. Victor didn't believe that. But he supposed somewhere in his head he regretted trying to kill the kid. He wasn't going to apologize for his actions, never had before why start now?
"And what will you do? Avoid me for the rest of it's life? Seems to me it wants me around." That confident smirk returned. He had come all this way out here to retrieve her and if she wasn't going to come with him? He'd just have to leave her then...At least that was what plan A was. If she still said no, what was he going to do? He just wanted her to agree and let this be over with already. But she was being stubborn and he didn't appreciate the difficulty. He was half tempted to just knock her unconscious and take her back that way if she kept fighting him like this.

"That was different! I didn't care about them. They were just meat puppets. This is different though. You just...you don't understand..."
The sun beat down on them now as it rose in the clear sky. There were no clouds to be seen in the bright blue abyss. She didn't know what to say to him right now. This was a first for her. She had always had something to say to him. Always some witty retort or some pissed off answer. But right now there was nothing that came to mind.
She laughed a little as he mentioned her running with the child for the rest of it's life. She would never run. She wasn't the person to run. But what had she done just now? Why was she in Spain? Was this running? But it was true, the baby wanted Victor here. She could feel that from it's mind. It wanted him here just as much as she did. But Phoenix was trying to convince herself that she didn't.
"Why did you come here, Victor? Why come after me?"

"If I have to tell you, then you'll never know." Cryptic answer but that was what she was going to get. Tracking her down and finding her wasn't enough? He was done with this. He turned from her and started to walk away. He didn't even bother to look back at her. He had asked her more than once to come with him and she had made her choice. More likely she had refused to make a true decision.
He continued to walk away, taking the only way out of that little cove. Whether she wanted to follow him or not was up to her but he wasn't going to stop unless she made a real effort to make him stop. He came for her and she refused to realize that. He refused to admit that he cared but that was who he was. If he admitted that he cared then that was a weakness. A weakness that could be exploited by anyone. If he had no weaknesses then there was no ammunition to manipulate him. He liked it that way.

His words hit her hard. He did care. He just didn't want to admit it. She could see that now. It was like he was almost afraid to admit it. Maybe he thought it a weakness. She sure as hell did when she admitted it. But she had not meant to really. It had just slipped out of her mouth. It was like she was admitting it more to herself than to him anyways. She looked up to say something to him only to find him walking away.
Any other time she wouldn't have cared if he walked away. She would have turned back towards the ocean and let things go. But with his almost admission to his feelings for her she just couldn't stand the sight of him walking away. Her eyes followed him as she called out his name. Phoenix knew that he wouldn't stop so easily but she missed him and she didn't want him to leave.
Phoenix's long legs took her to him. She strided in front of him to make him stop. She stood in front of his body and looked up at his face. She had missed that face. That all too familiar face. She lifted her hand to it. How could she continue to say no to him? She couldn't even stay mad at him. The baby started to kick in her womb as she was so close to Victor. It's emotions flooded Phoenix's mind. She took in a breathe.
"Will you at least try to not kill it? "
