In the thick of the trees there was a creature stirring. A large beast pacing through the trees at the back of the circus grounds. If anyone had wandered too close they'd surely hear the growls and cracking of wood as the beast ravaged the area. On closer inspection the trees of the little wood had been clawed nearly to shreds.
Within that wood the beast prowled. A large lion stalked his way back and forth along those trees like he was trapped in a cage. His anger was fuming within him. The stund Miranda pulled was just eating at him still. He should have just told her off right there but he couldn't. He couldn't stomp all over generations of tradition. And now...he could only assume that Lorleina may never speak to him again. Perhaps that really solved everything. Lorliena pissed off at him left him open to making his family happy..didn't it?
That wasn't what he wanted. He wanted to make his family proud. He wanted to lead the circus into a success. But did he have to be with Miranda to do it? Who was she really? Some snobby brat that thought that she could get further in life by marrying the heir to the circus..? Yea...that sounded like her.

Lorleina stood in her wagon staring at the destruction she had caused. There were broken things strewn all over the place. Her bed was in disarray and it looked like a hurricane had gone through the place. Her breathing was heavy as she stood there trying to catch her breathe. It was only hours after the show and she should have been rested from her performance but she was out of breathe from destroying almost everything she owned. Lolo hung onto the windowpane and looked in at her apprehensively. Tears were running down her face as she ran her hands through her disheveled hair.
She felt like her world had come crashing down on her as soon as she saw Rowan take the center ring with his new assistant. His bride to be stood center stage with him. She had no idea about it and everything just suddenly became real. He was going to marry Miranda and there was nothing that she could do about it. He was going to make his parents proud and that meant leaving Lorleina behind. That was where her mind was at right now. She looked around and grabbed a bag and started shoving clothes into it. She grabbed all the money she had and soon was swinging out the window. She had to leave. She couldn't stay here anymore. She couldn't stand there and watch the man she loved marry someone else and she couldn't live in the same place where he was going to make a life with his new bride. A bride that wasn't going to be her.
She had the bag slung on her back and was running away from the life she had known. She knew she was being weak but she just couldn't do it. Lorleina jumped and grabbed a branch as she swung up into it. The trees cleared and she jumped and landed on the ground ready to run again when she looked up and came face to face with a rather large lion. She stopped instantly and looked at him.
"Rowan...."

He had almost clawed her in the face from the sudden appearence she had made. A snort was given in her direction as he calmed himself and sighed. He stared at her with those animalistic eyes for a long moment before he shifted infront of her. Not that he was shy at all, wouldn't be anything she hadn't seen before at least... Those eyes though they changed from feline to human still had that intense look. If she looked around she could see the damage his claws had done to the trees around them.
"Lorleina." It was all he could muster saying for the time being. He wished he knew what to say to her..and what he said would make things better, but he knew nothing was going to fix this. Well, except one thing...
"She wasn't the person Ah practiced that act with. She wasn't supposed to be there." And in all honesty he half thought of mauling her in the act...if only that wouldn't end with him dead and the circus ruined. He sighed and turned away from her, walking a few steps away before he turned back around in the same frustration. It was then that he noticed the bags that were with her. "What are ye doing?"

Lorleina didn't move as she saw the lion eyeing her. She knew better than to do anything right now. her eyes had looked around the clearing though and all she saw was broken trees and claw marks in the ground. He was upset. She didn't know how upset but clearly he was upset. Lolo landed on her shoulder and eyed Rowan as he transformed in front of them. Lorleina still didn't move as he transformed back into the man she loved. He said he had no idea about Miranda being his assistant. But that didn't change anything right now.
She pushed the bag further up on her shoulder and tried to hide it behind her back. She was hoping that she wouldn't run into anyone while she was leaving especially Rowan. She knew she would have to explain herself now. She wouldn't be able to hide from this anymore and she wiped a few tears away as they fell again. She didn't want to do this but it would be best for both of them if she did leave.
"Rowan....I'm leaving. It'll be better for both of us. You can marry her and make your parents proud and won't have to worry about me....I just...I don't think I could live here seeing you starting a life and maybe a family with her....I don't think i can do it..."

"Ah don' expect ye ta." He sighed slightly and then looked towards the ground for a moment. He wasn't like him to be so undecisive and out of control of things. He always had everything in line and down to a T.
Those eyes finally looked back up to her though a frown was left on his lips. "Ah don' want t' hurt ye Lorleina. Ah never did. But this whole situation is hurtin' both of us. My father planned the whole thing. He was the one that came up to me before the show and said Sara was trainin' Miranda to take 'er spot this whole time." That was mostly the reason why he was so furious. The fact that his family couldn't even respect him enough to go about 'spending time' with Miranda the way he saw fit. Not that he saw fit to spend any time with her...but that wasn't the point.
He sighed again and then stepped out of her way. "If ye want ta go...go." He wasn't going to make her stay. He wanted her to stay...felt like begging her to stay but if she was meant to go....she would no matter what. That was fate for you. "Ah'll miss ye...always."

She squeezed her eyes shut for a moment and just took in a shaky breathe trying to calm herself. She should have known that his father had planned it all. She should have known that Rowan wouldn't have done that. She knew better than anyone that he didn't want to marry Miranda. Lorleina should have known all of this but her mind was too clouded. She realized it now though.
"It is hurting both of us, mo ghrá. I should have known that you hadn't planned that. I should have trusted you but...I don't know what to think anymore. My mind is so warped with everything that is going on I don't know how we could make it through this."
She absent mindedly scratched Lolo's head. He replied with a soft purr as he wrapped his tail around her upper arm before he jumped away into the trees. He knew when he wasn't meant to be with them. He was a smart animal smarter than her sometimes. Her heart was breaking every second and it ached even more as he told her if she wanted to go then to go. She didn't want to though.
"Rowan, I don't want to go. But what am I to do? I want nothing more than to be in your arms. To kiss you in public and not have to worry about anyone saying anything. I don't want to hide this anymore but....what am I to do? You're getting married and its not to me. No matter how much I wish it was...its not."

He grew silent as she mentioned how she wanted to be married to him but she couldn't be. It wasn't like their marriages were all that 'real' anyway. They were real to their culture but to the law it really wasn't. After all they really didn't pay taxes either. Ideas wandered through his mind as he walked up to Lorleina. He took her hands in his and stared into her eyes.
This probably wasn't what she was wanting...in the sense of moments. Even he had thought he could have come up with something more romantic at least something with more clothes. But this was a far better time then any. "Lorleina..."
He grew quiet and whispered to her softly, "A ghra mo chroi..." His eyes continue to stare into those deep eyes of hers. "Be my wife...now and forever." His hand moved up to brush those fingers over her cheek in a gentle manner. Certainly they would still not be able to announce it to the family, but he hoped the gesture would satisfy her for now. And more importantly make a point that he would never have feelings for Miranda and suddenly decide to marry the woman. In fact if she agreed right now and his family pressed matters...he'd have to admit to them that he already 'married' someone. It'd be a deep betrayl, but what was worse? The betrayl of his family, or his heart?

The dark haired Irish girl stood there staring into his eyes. Her body shivered as he said her name. He had an effect on her like nothing else. He made her feels things she had never felt before. Say things she never thought that she would say. He was everything to her and she couldn't stand losing him but if she had to leave to save herself from the constant heartache that was sure to follow in the years to come if he married Miranda then she would. She would never be the same and she would never love another. She would never get over Rowan. She knew if she left now it would hurt a lot of people, her parents and siblings the most. But what else was she supposed to do?
Then he spoke and her heart skipped a beat. She felt like she couldn't breathe and her mind suddenly became dizzy with emotions. Be his wife? He wanted her to be his wife. She had never wanted anything more than to be the one he came home to at night. The one he could start a family with. She smiled and nodded, small tears spilling from her eyes. But these weren't the frustrated hurt tears she had been crying before. These were tears of joy. She took his face in her hands and kissed him. It wasn't how she ever expected this to happen and she really hadn't it expected it to ever happen. She had hoped it would but in all reality she had never thought that it would.
"Yes. Of course, Rowan. Ba mhaith liom rud ar bith níos mó ná a bheith ar do bhean chéile. Is breá liom tú. But...what about the family? You're father won't like this. You know how this is supposed to be done. Big elaborate weddings and the family's consent. How are we going to tell them?"
She was right the family wouldn't like this. Rowan was supposed to marry Miranda not Lorleina. Lorleina hadn't even been an options for him. Once they found out that they were 'married' she didn't think that things were going to go very well. There was even a chance of them both being exiled because of this.

Rowan kissed Lorleina's lips softly in return. It was a gentle kiss that nearly made time stand still...at least for him. But that moment seemed to pass as he looked into her eyes and sighed to the mentioning of the large weddings.
"Yes and Ah'm sure Miranda would make sure it was the largest wedding there ever was. But Ah dun care about that. Ah'd rather have it just be family and friends having a good time. No reason to flaunt our statuses."
He thought for a long moment about possible ways to tell the family. Mostly he was trying tO think of how ta get Miranda to call the wedding off. It would make things easier on him.
"Lorleina...Ah appreciate yer patience and Ah'm going to have to ask ye for it again. It's something Ah have to approach carefully. An' while if Ah get exiled...at least it'd be with ye...Ah really want ta try an' avoid that. There may be a way Ah can get Miranda ta refuse ta marry me." Rowan couldn't help but smirk slightly as the idea came to mind. "But ye won' like it. Ah could lay it on real thick like. Not sayin' Ah'll like it either but it may jes be crazy enough ta work.

Lorleina nodded as he asked her to be patient again. Before this moment she would have told him no. It would have broken her heart but she just wouldn't be able to. But now that she was his wife she had to really. But she wanted to even more. She knew now that he was in this for the long run and she hadn't been just a fling. That she meant something to him and that he truly loved her. She squeezed his hand and smiled. She would do anything for him. But in all honesty she didn't want a big wedding. She agreed with him about it being just friends and family. They had a rather large family but she wasn't one for overly big and extravagant.
"I can wait. I don't want a big wedding anyways. Something small would be perfect....if they agree to it after we tell them."
She frowned a little as he mentioned that he would have to lay it on thick to get Miranda to call off the wedding. That would make things a lot easier if she called it off rather than if he did she had to admit that. But she didn't like the idea of him with her in general. She knew that she was going to get jealous but she just would have to keep reminding herself that he was her husband now. That Miranda meant nothing to him and that he was only doing it so he could be with her. it was going to be hard but she could do it.
"You're right. I'm not going to like that. But it could lead to less drama. If we are exiled though....I won't care as long as I have you. We can start our own life together. Our own family."
