Jean had awoken in the arms of Logan. His scent filled her nose and she smiled. It was so nice to be with him after all this time of playing cat and mouse. After all the fantasies she had played in her head but could nothing about it because of the vows she took with Scott. But now that that was over she could finally let her feelings show. Falling sleep next to him was the happiest she had ever been. But something had been wrong in the beginning. She would black out for hours and sometimes days on end. No one would know where she was and she would return covered in bruises and scratches. Once even with the four scars she now had being open wounds on her hip. She still didn't know where they came from and she could only guess that it had been the Phoenix. But all of that has stopped now.
She stretched out and slowly and quietly crawled out from underneath Logan's arms as she tip toed to the shower and got ready. It was still early but she just couldn't sleep anymore and had to go and do something. Once she was done getting ready the red haired professor slipped out of the room and walked down the hallway trying to find a place to go to think. The blackouts had stopped but it was bugging her that it had. Deep down she knew it had been the Phoenix doing this but she would never tell Logan that. But with it stopping so suddenly it worried her.
Her feet had taken her to the science lab. Maybe she could get some thinking done there. She walked in and walked to her desk. She had started teaching this class a couple weeks after she had gotten back from being dead. She sat down on the top of it and rummaged through her papers she had sitting there. It was tests that still needed to be graded. She really should get to those. But right now she was just thinking.

For some reason, Reverie had never met Jean Grey. Heard of her, yes, met her? No. It was a little stupid though, considering Jean Grey was a fellow telepath... And thus, by default, could help Reverie with her.... power issues. Good luck getting Reverie to ask for help though! She was so socially awkward, asking for help made her whole face turn so red you'd be reminded of a tomato.
Finally though, things were getting a little to unbearable. It seemed like she had to spend every day, even when she was sleeping, with music blaring, just to keep the voices out. She really, really, needed to learn at least a little control if she planned on staying at the school.... Or keeping her sanity in general.
Still, it took weeks to work up the courage to try and talk to the older woman. And even then, she'd backed out twice already. Third time's the charm though, right?
Taking a deep breath, she pulled her earbuds out, flinching as the thoughts of everyone within fifty feet bombarded her. It really sucked that she happened to be in the dorms at the time.... Which meant most the student body was there as well... Flinching over and over, she tried to sort through the thoughts, trying to pick up on Jean's. Finally, she caught the faintest thought, moving farther out of her range. With far to much hesitation, she finally following at a very, ridiculously safe distance. Jean probably wouldn't even realize she had a student 'following' her until Reverie was outside the dorm, and in the classroom wing.
In the long hall, Reverie froze, her nerves finally getting the best of her. What if Ms. Grey wasn't interested in helping her? What if Reverie's power couldn't be fixed? What if Ms. Grey didn't care? Okay, some of those what if's were a little farfetched, but Reverie was a pessimist. She always thought the worst thing that could happen, would! With out knowing it, her feet had carried her to the door of the Science lab, her hand on the doorknob but not turning it. She stared down at her hand, closed around the metal sphere. Nope. No way. Ms. Jean Grey wouldn't want to help a coward like her. Best to give up now, before she was disappointed....
She released the door handle, what little courage she'd worked up, finally crashing down on her.

The sun was starting to get high in the sky as it filtered through the windows and into the classroom she was in. Jean flipped through the papers she had in her hands as she graded them. Her students were really smart she had noticed that when she had started teaching this class. A couple struggled but she didn't mind helping them that was why she had decided to become a teacher anyways. She loved helping people. yes she still struggled with her powers but there was always going to be a struggle with every mutant and their powers.
The papers were placed on her desk and she leaned back in her chair rubbing her eyes. She was a little tired but it was mostly from being there for over an hour and just staring at the papers trying to figure out why the blackouts had just stopped completely. She hadn't even told the professor about this. She knew she should but she was too scared too.
Her powers started picking up the voices of the students rousing and walking around and getting ready for the day. She pushed them from her mind and blocked them out. That was the first thing she had learned to do. One voice stuck out though and it was right outside the door. She lifted her hand and turned the handle of the door and pushed it open. A blonde student stood there looking a little scared.
"Reverie, you can come in. I won't bite. I promise. What seems to be the problem?"

Reverie had totally and completely lost her nerve. She'd spent so long trying to work up the courage to finally confront the women, and ended up wimping out right at the last minute. Really, she was such a coward....
She'd taken only a single step back from the door suddenly vanished. Poor, skittish Reverie. She just about jumped out of her skin, her whole body involuntarily, and violently, jolting in shock. Her expression was like a deer in headlights, her eyes as wide as saucers... And after a few brief seconds, her face as red as a cherry. After a few seconds, Ms. Grey appeared, finally still.... And that was when Reverie really looked horrified and scared out of her wits. Even for a telepath, she was a bit.... skittish. Probably because she couldn't see most the people she heard.
"Ah.... uh.... Um..." Suddenly, she was tongue tied, all thoughts coming to a halt. What was she supposed to say?! And... Oh crap, now was when she remembered that Jean Grey was a fellow telepath, kind of stupid how she'd somehow overlooked that... But that was also the reason for this whole encounter. "Ah... w-was... was... won.. der...." Her voice trailed off, her scottish accent quickly trailing off into nothing.

The red haired woman looked down at the small blonde girl. She looked scared. Jean knew that look all too well. She used to be scared of her powers as well. She used to not be in control of them at all. But now with the professor's help she had almost gotten the hang of it fully. There were still times when they would get out of hand but all in all she was the master over her powers. Her powers didn't control her anymore. She smiled at the girl and knew why she was here without even reading her mind.
"You were wondering if I could help you? Please, Reverie, come in."
She motioned for the girl to enter the room and once she did Jean closed the door behind them. They would need privacy for this. She knew how hard it was for someone to open up and this girl looked scared out of her mind. Jean knew she would do anything in her power to help this girl. It was who she was. She just liked helping people. That was one of the main reasons she had become a teacher after all.
Jean leaned on her desk and crossed her long legs as she looked at the girl. In a way she sort of reminded her of herself at that age. Without the help of the professor Jean didn't know where she would have been right now.
"So what seems to be the problem, dear?"

((I'm so sorry it took so long! D:)) Reverie felt like a fish out of water, flopping around, gasping for air, and slowly dying a social death. Basically, she looked pretty pathetic, standing there, eyes as wide as possible, her thoughts a jumbled, stuttering mess, her voice locked in her chest, and face as red as Jean's hair. Some people might even think the girl looked so embarrassed she might faint! What had possessed the girl to come here, again?
"Um... Y-yes..." She was still stuttering, struggling to find words as her Scottish accent grew ever stronger. Of course Jean knew what Reverie was here for... And, before hearing Ms. Grey tell her to come in, the poor girl was absolutely convinced the door would be slammed in her face, that the teacher would tell her she had better things to do then help a bratty teenager.
Bracing herself, you could imagine her surprise when it was literally the opposite. The girl couldn't hide the shocked expression that crossed her face, or seem to scramble inside fast enough. She was obviously very insecure, and seemed to think Ms. Grey would change her mind if she took to long. So, quickly, Reverie (literally) scrambled to one of the chairs opposite the desk, plopping down and quickly scanning the room. She was still memorizing her surroundings when Ms. Grey spoke once again, making the girl jump out of her skin, she hadn't expected Ms. Grey's voice to come from right in front of her. Her eyes wide again, she turned back to stare at the teacher who'd finally stopped moving.
"Ih's.... Ih's... Ah... hear.... everyth'in... Ah cannae.... stop ih. Ih just.... just happens...." Well, at least her stuttering had stopped! Now she was just repeating herself and randomly refusing to speak, like her voice kept getting caught in her chest.
