Appearance: On the surface, she is very clean, polished, always looking nice. But hidden under her modest clothing are hidden scars, permanent bruises, and even scars deeper than skin. She has no piercings, no tattoos, nothing ‘fake’. She is femininely muscular, though her arms are bulkier than most.

Personality: Mey is a very guarded woman with a hidden past that she has yet to confront. Most often she is a loving person who sincerely cares about those around her and has an empathetic personality. She is willing to listen to you for hours on end about everything that has gone wrong in your life and will do what you need, whether it is a hug, a shoulder to cry on, a conversationalist, or an advisor. There was a time in her life she thought of being a psychologist because of how well she helped her friends and how they loved her listening ear. Mey will always be there for you, no matter what.
Mey is not usually a straightforward or blunt person. She hates disappointing people and will almost never say no. This has gotten her into many problematic situations, but she’s learned and tries to be cautious in decisions. The only time you’ll ever see Mey truly angry is when asked about her past. She completely shuts down and will literally run away. She will stay away until promised there will be no more talk of her past. Other than that, she is a fairly pleasant woman to be around.

Power(s): Mey has two sides to her power. They stem from the power of the sun. During the day, she is able to create a weak shield of light around herself, use ‘shards of light’ to heal small cuts on herself or others, and shoot ‘shards of light’ at foes. ‘Shards of light’ are any bright reflection from the sun off a reflective surface that, when shot at people, looks like an arrow of light. During the night, her source of power waxes and wanes with the amount of sun reflected off the moon. Her skin can turn the color of night, which renders her nearly invisible. In this form she can step into a shadow and step out of another shadow and, if her emotions are high, she can focus the reflected sunlight into her fingertips and burn anything she touches.
Weakness(s): Day: How much sun charge she’s been able to store up and no reflective surfaces around. Night: No moon (no reflected sunlight) means her powers are essentially non-existent. Her powers are very dependent on the solar and lunar rotations.
Cause: Power has not yet manifested.

Other skills: She is highly skilled with many weapons and defensive martial arts. Her favorite is a short sword and shield. She is also an avid researcher of the time of the Crusades and the Holy War. The Knights Templar are her favorite group to research and read about.

Allegiance: Whoever doesn’t try to hurt her. She did meet Professor Xavier about 8 years prior, so she would be inclined to follow the X-men.

Anything else: As mentioned above, Mey does have an older brother, though she has no idea of his name, appearance, or whereabouts, only that he exists. He was given away 2 years before she was born. On the Police Report filed when she was 8 years old, it states that she was found in her parents’ basement chained to a pole with no food or water. Her clothes were tattered, smeared blood and tears. Her body was badly bruised, cuts everywhere, and a broken leg. Medical Report states that she was two days starved, the injuries three days old. Mey Canton was found when some neighborhood kids were jumping over fences and playing in different backyards. They looked down in the window well and saw a body, chained, and lying lifeless inside. Three days after being found and sent to the hospital, child services came and started the paper work. She was put into an orphanage where she stayed for two years with no success at adoption. Finally, she was put into foster care and sent from home to home. At the age of twelve, she found a loving home with the Cantons who were magicians with troubled children. They had two of their own children, but decided to enter the foster program to help as many children as they could. They helped each child that they brought into their home become the best they could be. To this day, all the children, the biological and foster, feel they are all family and keep well in contact.
