Today was just one of those days Remy needed away from the world. He needed away from other mutants more than anything. The group of kids playing around outside earlier had nearly taken his head off with a ball of fire before he finally gave up and left. He knew coming out this way would probably only irritate him further but he figured he would chance it.
There groups of people out today would have normally made him happier, easy targets of wallet snatching was always a mood lifter, but today they just seemed to make things worse. All the noise and people around were just agrivating him to no end. He needed a break and fast.
He took refuge in a small shop, looking around at the people inside he instantly held regret towards the choice. Teens everywhere with brightly colored cups of.. Whatever.. He wondered towards the counter where a chipper blond awaited "What can I get for you!?" She asked, all too happy.
Remy groaned ever so slightly. "Ya' got coffee?" He asked. His accent becoming thicker with his agrivation.
The lady looked a little put off by the question. "Um.. Ya!" She said regaining her small smile before she bounced off, returning with a cup of coffee "Anything else? Like.." Before she could continue he threw some money at her.
"Keep it.." He mumbled taking his coffe, and a seat as far from anyone as he could.
He sighed a bit, calming down now things were more quiet. He toyed with the rim of his cup for a bit, taking a small sip, feeling better with each one. He kept his gaze on the table for the most part, until someone new walked in.

How did he end up in these types of situations? Was the thought going through McKay's head as he jumped from one rooftop to the next. That was probably the only thing keeping his pursuers from catching up with him, his skills in parkour. Landing on the next roof McKay thought back to how he managed to whined up in this situation. Ok so sometimes he rushed into things without really thinking but this was just rediculious. He had somehow picked a fight with a leader of a new street gang that had recgiginzed him and now he was litarally running for his life, not like that was anything new.
Looking behind him McKay noticed that he had managed to lose them, for the moment. Climbing the fire escape to street level back down to street level McKay looked around before ducking into a coffee shop. Hopefully they would give up looking for him in a couple of hours if he stayed out of sight.
Enter the shop McKay stopped to catch his breath before walking up to the counter and ordering an iced coffee, he wasn't really in the mood for anything hot. While he was waiting for his coffee McKay took a look around at everyone in the coffee shop, no one caught his attention and he guessed that was a good thing.

Remy watched the new person walk in and instantly his attention was caught by the new face. Remy had lived an interesting life thus far in ways of bad news and this kid had it all over his face. He looked almost as if he had been running from someone, or at them.. Who knew?
Remy took another sip from his cup, keeping his eye on the kid as well as the door to make sure whatever trouble, if any, this kid was having didn't follow him in. Remy was in no mood to have to kill someone.
He smiled at little when he noticed him looking around, he seemed awfully paranoid, giving more life to Remy's idea he might be in some trouble. He shook his head a bit, trying to talk himself down from even looking at the boy any more. The last thing Remy wanted was involvment in anything, he caused enough trouble for himself without help. But as usual, his actions beat out his mind and Remy found himself obviously kicking out the chair across from him as he eyed the boy, and obvious invitation to have a seat. Now if it was accepted or not, was out of Remy's hands. But the offer now quietly stood.

Turning back to the counter McKay was content with just waiting for his drink to be ready when he heard the sound of a chair skidding across the floor. Looking up his attention was immediately brought to a corner where the ocupant had kicked out a chair and was looking with an obvious invitation to sit. Raising one of his eyebrows McKay took his drink when it finally arrvied and walked over to take the seat that had been offred to him.
Plasting a smile on his face McKay took a sip of his iced coffee before addressing the person in front of him. “Was there any particular reason you wanted me to sit here?” Taking a quick glance at the person in front of him he noticed in front of him he noticed that he was about Scotts age and his stomache started to turn at the thought.
Quickly taking a sip of his drink McKay tried to stop himself from going down that line of thought he just waited for answer to his question.

Remy shrugged a bit and smiled ever so slightly, still unsure if this kid was in trouble, or causing it. Either way his idea of not getting involved was slowly flying out the door the more curious he became. "Ah don' know.. lonely ah guess.." He joked before taking another sip from his cup then setting it down and gazing at the door before returning his sights to the person across from him.
"So ya look like ya could be in some trouble. Whatcha steal?" He asked sitting back, a look of pure curiosity on his face as he watched to gauge the kid's reaction. He looked almost nervious, like maybe he was unsure of something.
"Ah ain't no cop or nothin' kid.. Don' gotta worry. In fact aha cop's worst nightmare." He offered hoping to ease the situation at least a little. Then again, stating he wasn't very well off with good authority might worsen whatever was going on.

Looking up at Remy McKay gave him a smile. “Lonely, huh?” While McKay didn't really think that was the reason he wanted McKay to come and sit with him it was certainly something he understood all to well. McKay himself had been known to seek out random strangers just for the reassurance that he wasn't alone.
So he deciding not to press that issue he was about to steer the conversation into something else when he mentioned him looking like he was in trouble, oh how he had hit the nail on the head with that remark not that he was going to tell him that. Sometimes it just made matters worse when you brought someone else into your problems.
“I didn't steal anything. What makes you think i'm in some kind of trouble anyway?” Though now thinking about how he had come into the shop he realized that anyone who knew what to look for in someone on the run could have picked up on the obvious signs he had been showing when he walked in. Well to late now.
“Should I take that as a good thing or a bad thing? And should have you really have said that? For all you know I could have needed the police.” McKay was quickly slipping into his chatter box mood. If he wasn't cut f soon he would soon ramble on about anything.

Remy found himself half way chuckling at the boy's comments. Yeah maybe he shouldn't have said so much right away that was pretty stupid on his part but he honestly saw no real harm in telling the boy what he saw and the thing with the cops didn't worry him nearly as much as it probably should have.
"Ah've been in trouble. Ah know the look an' ya've definatly got the look.." He began to once again mess around with the rim of his cup trying to actually think out his next set of words.
"If ya needed the police then, ah feel bad for ya cause, they ain't much help." He could feel himself start to anger a bit at the comment but he quickly cooled down.
He thought a moment before deciding to let the kid off a little with more casual subject matter "you got a name? Ahm Remy.." He offered with a small smile.

McKay, taking a break from asking questions, took a sip of his drink before all the ice melted. When the guy across from him mentioned that he had the look of someone in trouble McKay laughed. “Yep, I guess you could say that.” He was in trouble after all, and probably more then this guy even thought. The street gang he could handle, they would get bored eventually.
When he mentioned the police not being of any help couldn't help but agree, McKay might have grown up on the streets and had been on the run from the police more times than he could count, but when he actually needed them they couldn't do anything. McKay unconsciously grabbed onto the dog togs that were hanging around his neck, a pained look in his eyes, but it was gone in the blink of an eye and replaced with his usual happy gleam that most people wouldn't have even noticed.
When he asked him what his anme was McKay's smile got even bigger, if that was even possible. “McKay.”

Remy smiled toward McKay now pleased to have a name to call him by, besides 'kid' He didn't much like calling people that. It reminded him too much of someone he wasn't all that fond of anymore. After a few moments of silence Remy decided curiosity was going to win out no matter what he did.
"Ya look to young to 'ave messed with the wrong girl.." he surveyed all the ideas of why a guy would be in trouble with someone. "An ya didn't steal nothin'.." He repeated sighing quietly as he thought. "Ya gonna tell me whats wrong or am ah gonna 'ave ta guess it?"
Remy sat up a bit in his chair finishing off the contents of his cup before looking McKay over once more. "Ahm not one to pry but as ah said, ya look a bit young to be in trouble.. Don'tcha got parents ya should go home to?"

The smile never left mcKay's face, though it was a little smaller then it was a couple seconds ago. “If you mean the trouble that had me coming in here it's nothing I can't handle.” He gave a little shrug. “i'm used to it anyways so its not that big of deal. I mean they'll get bored eventually. I didn't piss him off that much, or at least I din't think I did. Well you never know with types like that.”
McKay was good with just brushing things off like they were no big deal, and in this case a small scuffle with a small street gang was no big deal, he had other things to worry about. Not that he was going to tell a compleate stanger about them, and by the looks of it this guy didn't know about the game anyways, not that a lot of people actually did.
When Remy mentioned his family that almost completely wiped the smile off of his face. His parents had died when he was really little so he didn't really remember them. He had been raised mostly by...McKay's grip on his glass tightened. He wasn't even going down that line of thought. “Trust me he wouldn't care.”

Remy smiled a bit as the McKay spoke, he reminded him a lot of himself when he was younger, hell even now on a good day before life really started to get him down. Just because he'd be quiet and cautious towards others didn't mean he didn't love to piss off big names and cause trouble where none was to be found.
He did however feel a bit guilty for even bringing up family when he took in McKay's reaction. Again, reminded him of himself.
Remy's mind went in all kinds of directions, one even ended with him walking off but he decided against it and stayed even went down a road shocking for himself. "Ya know, ah was raised by some sketchy people ahn ah've caused mahself a lot of issues with mah mouth alone.. Most don't forget easy.. ya' look like you're fine on your own but some advice.. ya can't run foreva.. They catch up.." The words stung a little, knowing his own issues were on their way to catching up with him. But true they were. "ahn, ah do mean all of 'em.."

There were very few subjects that could get McKay to shut down like that, but his family was defenatly one of them. Taking a couple of deep breaths McKay tried to rid himself of the thoughts of his older brother, instead trying to think of something else he could talk about. Talking about random stuff always made him feel better for some reason, probably because he was the human equvilant of a chatter box.
Putting in a smile McKay listened to what Remy had to say, he could tell from the way that he was talking that he had a similar life to what he had, it was like talking to Scott again before, better not head down that road again, and it made him want to tell him what he had gotten himself into, but no McKay had made that mistake once before and it had cost him all of his friends and he wasn't about to make the same mistake twice.
It was when Remy was halway through what he was saying that McKay remembered something he needed to do. Quickly standing up he walked to where Remy was, pulling out a camera on the way. As soon as he was beside Remy he placed the camera in front of both of them. “Say Cheese.” McKay had the slight problem of not asking the people he took pictures of if they wanted their picture taken.
