Liam was sitting at one of the benches in a secluded part of Central Park and just enjoying the crisp air. He was in clothing that looked too light for how cold it was, but thanks to his mutation he hardly noticed just how cold it was outside. He hadn't had a chance to be alone since that Indian woman came to stay with him as his maid, which was always a constant fight on how much Liam was going to let her do for him everyday. His body was finally moving right again, even if it was a little slow at times, and he could start doing some jobs again.
Liam just sat there on the bench. It was an odd sit to see him though since he was a muscler man who's height was 6'7 feet and his body was naturally broad. He looked like the kind of man who could lift a car off the ground and he was sitting on a small bench in the park. A strange sight to see even in New York City and if Liam realized how much it made him stick out, he wouldn't be sitting there. He never did like sticking out, but he never could blend in.

Jean had been having the most wonderful week of her life. Having Logan in her life had been something she would have ever never imagined. She had always seen herself with Scott. They had gotten married and Jean had always thought that they would grow old together. Now they were divorced and she had Logan in her life. The man who she had always seen as her best friend and had always had fantasies about.
Jean had driven around lost in her thoughts for some time now. She finally pulled over and decided to walk through the park and take in the scenery. She was appreciating things a lot more now. As she walked she looked up and noticed a man sitting on the bench. He seemed out of place just sitting there. She decided to see what he was like so she let her powers drift over to him and enter his mind. What she heard surprised her and she knew she had a surprised look on her face. She couldn't understand anything in there. This was a first for her. Yes she couldn't even get into Logan's mind but this one she just couldn't understand at all.

Liam was still enjoying the crisp air and his solitude when he noticed something. The mental gears in his head were still sluggish like his body and were causing him to think slower then he normally would. He wondered about that for a moment, all the while his head feeling a little cloudy, when he noticed a woman not far from him in the park. She had a look of complete surprise written like a signal flare in the moonless night all over her face. He wondered what had surprised her for a moment and then figured it had to have been him. He knew that he was a big guy, a very big guy, and he was trying his best not to stick out but it seemed he hadn't done a good job of that. He wasn't sure what to do now since it seemed she hadn't noticed that he saw her yet. He thought about what to do for a moment before he decided that he would just not say anything to her since if she was going to approach him, she would do it when she felt ready to.
Liam turned his thoughts toward wondering what kind of job he should take for his first job since getting better. All of the shifts in his thinking could easily have been felt by anyone spying on them since he wasn't trying to hide them at all.

Jean quickly shut her mouth and tried to look like she was not so surprised. The man had looked at her and had clearly seen her and ow she had stood there with her mouth gaping open. It was just so weird to encounter a mind like this. She had been used to not hearing anything from Logan's mind but this mind she could hear stuff she just couldn't put it together into a coherent thought. She had never encountered that before. He was obviously a mutant thought there was no doubt of that. But he confused her like no other. She quickly pulled out of his mind so she didn't go mad herself and she then contemplated approaching him. She wanted to know what this man was like and what kind of mutant he was.
Jean slowly walked up to him and looked him up and down. he was a big man she was starting to rethink this decision to talk to him. Maybe he was a member of the brotherhood. He could kill her for christ's sake. But she just had to know. She was too curious for her own self right now. It was a long bench and she sat down on the other side of him. She glanced over.
"What are you?"

Liam was still thinking about what job he should take, when the woman suddenly began to walk towards him once more. He didn't pay her much attention though until she sat down next to him. He stopped thinking about what job he should take, and began to wonder about what she was up to since she glanced at him. He looked her over quickly, a trick that a mercenary tended to pick up, and noticed some interesting things about this woman. She was a beauty to be sure and she seemed to be around his age. He looked more like he was 21 or 22 instead of his true age of 26 himself, but it still surprised him that a woman like this that was so close to his real age would come this close to him. He knew how intimidating he looked and most people tended to avoid him. He wasn't sure what this woman was up to, but his interest was now peeked.
Liam didn't have much time to think more then what he had when the woman suddenly asked him what he was. He wasn't expecting her to ask him something like that out of the blue, so it took him a moment to think of a reply. He looked at the trees across from him and said, " I'm a man?"
Liam was confused about what she thought he was and it showed in how he had responded. He was even more curious as to what this woman wanted from him now.

"I'm not stupid. You may be a man but you are no ordinary man. I can't seem to decipher your thoughts."
Jean sat there and stared at him studying him for a bit. He was huge and he was obviously a man but he was a mutant as well. But no matter what she did she could not decipher any of his thoughts. They were thoughts of course bu they were...different. She couldn't remember a time when this had happened to her.
Yes when she had first met Logan she could hear nothing in his mind but that was because Logan had had training to keep anyone out of his mind. He knew how to block and hide his thoughts so you heard nothing and it was pitch blackness. But this man sitting next to her was different indeed. His thoughts were jumbled and static like.
"I'm Jean Grey."
She extended her hand for him to shake it if he wanted to. It was only proper that she introduce herself. She had in fact walked up to him randomly and started a conversation. She usually didn't do stuff like this. But she was curious.

Liam wasn't sure what was up with this woman until she mentioned that she couldn't decipher his thoughts. He had a pretty good idea of what was going on now. He had had this kind of thing happen before with other telepaths in the past. He just gave her a smile.
" My name is Liam Lancaster. It is a pleasure to meet you Ms. Grey. I take it that you are a telepath then?" Liam said to her in reply. " I've been told my head is like a giant puzzle before. I guess it has something to do with the way I'm built."
Liam wasn't joking when he said that. His mind was wired different then every other human. His father had once taken him to have his head examined after he had taken a blow to the head. The doctors were so dumbfounded and shocked that some of them tried to say the machine was broken, some tried to say he must have some extreme head trauma, and one doctor tried to say that he was an alien in the form of a human and was sent to earth to take other the planet. Liam guessed he sort of was like an alien, but it wasn't like he was so differently built as to not be considered a human anymore.
" So what brings you to the park on such a... cold? ... day?" Liam asked as he kept smiling at her.
