Aggie, for the most part, felt out of place at the circus. Almost every other teenager or kid in the troupe contributed in some way. The older teens joining in the performances, the younger kids showing off to guests (vowing that one day these same guests would be coming to see them perform bigger and better stunts then their parents.). Even the elderly pitched in in whatever way they could. Not Aggie though. Aggie hated the circus. Actually, that wasn't quite right, she had an incredible fear of it. And, thankfully, most of the troupe respected that. Her parents had both been killed in the same accident, and if set up had been done properly that day... Well, maybe her parents would still be here. So, of course, the girl had a big of a grudge for the place that caused her parents deaths. She refused to get in ten feet of the Big tent, and the only time you could get her near it, is if you physically carried her over... And kept your ears covered, because that would be one of the times she willingly used her power.
Today, most people were relaxing. See, Sunday was the day off for the Troupe, because repairs would need to be done, prepping for the next week, time needed to be put into fixing common mistakes that were made in routines, and, basically? No one wanted to work every single day. Some of the troupe was doing just that, taking a day off, hanging out with family and friends, goofing off, gossiping, just having fun. Most of the performers would take some time to practice during the day, and, from Aggie's perch in the tree by her Aunt and Uncle's trailer, she could see a few enter or leave the big tent every so often.
Sometimes she wondered what went on in there, it'd been so long since she dared enter the place. But she'd never had a desire to follow through with the curiosity. No, never again would she enter that cursed place. No matter what.
Setting out a sigh, she kicked her legs back and forth as she sat on the branch, unintentionally shaking loose a few leaves. She leaned forward slightly, her bright eyes watching as the leaves slowly and gracefully drifted to the ground. Almost like snow. After a moment though, her gaze moved away from them, drawn by the sound of footfall on grass.

Gil was having to help his new foster father fix something from the big tent that they always held performances in. He was having to replace one of the wooden beams that was getting too old and worn out to use. He wouldn't have minded helping with the task, if it wasn't for the fact that he was being forced to do it IN the big tent with the others and not back at the sanctum that was his new trailer home. His new father would do this to him from time to time in an effort to make him interact with others. It never worked, but he kept trying.
Gil was getting the new piece of wood shaped just right, and could feel the eyes of the younger Furies on him. They didn't treat him badly, but it was obvious to even him that he still wasn't considered part of the group yet. He was just too different from them and he was fine with that. He preferred the calm of being underwater to the confusion that was the circus tent any day.
After he had finished getting the wood shaped, his new father told him that he could leave. Gil just nodded in reply and before he could walk away he was told that his new parents were going to go eat with one of the other families for the late day meal, supper or something, and that he could come if he wanted to. They both knew the answer so Gil just smiled and left.
Gil had made it back to the trailer when he noticed some leaves falling gently to the ground. He watched with a few quick blinks before he looked up and saw what caused it. He saw Aggie and looked for a moment before he went to were he was under were she sat and just held his arms out.

For someone so anti-circus, you'd think the girl would have run away, found another relative to live with, or even volunteered for a boarding school. Actually, most people had expected the girl to go through with one of those crazy schemes. Even Aggie had considered it (More then considered, she'd packed her bags on multiple occasions. Right now happened to be one of them to, her bags packed and piled in a neat little stack in the main room (the living room, basically) of her Aunt and Uncle's trailer, as if to telling to the whole world she'd go through with it this time. Apparently her Aunt and Uncle didn't think she would, and they were probably right. She went through this phase multiple times a month, to be honest. It didn't surprise anyone anymore.
But no, for some reason she always stayed. She never went through with her plans to leave, always backing out and staying. Maybe because she realized living on her own (if she didn't go to another relative or a boarding school) wouldn't exactly be easy at fifteen. Maybe because she didn't know her mother's side of the family well enough to want to live with them. Or maybe she was a masochist, and preferred to make herself suffer by staying with the people that knew her parents, and near the place that killed them. Basically? All in all, it just said she was a coward.
Spotting the person approach, she smiled ever so slightly. Gil. Her Aunt and Uncle had taken the scary looking teenager in about two years ago, and he'd kind of been like a brother to her. But she didn't like how quiet he was. To be honest, she didn't like people being quiet in general. She'd basically sworn an oath of silence because of her power, so when she was with people? She'd rather they talk, and talk, and talk. She was a good listener. Not a good talker. So, obviously, it made things difficult with Gil. Both of them rarely talked. Gil because he was antisocial. Her because of her power. Basically, it wasn't that exciting when they were together. Because neither of them talked. Quite literally, they sometimes just sat in silence. Something she didn't like. The point was? She liked Gil (As a brother/friend sort.), but she didn't like all of his personality traits.
When he held his arms out to catch her, she just shook her head, pulling her feet up onto the branch and out of his reach, even if he jumped. No, she liked her perch, and, he would probably try to convince her out of 'running away' this time. There was quite literally no way you could go with out noticing the bags in their trailer, considering everyone had tripped over them this morning. She was determined to go through with the plan today though. Sure, she'd back out in the end, but she didn't want to deal with other people trying to talk her out of it!

Gil waited until Agatha pulled her legs up showing that she felt like staying in the tree. She was definitely in one of those moods she had every so often were she would put her bags in the way and act like she was going to leave. He knew she wasn't since she wouldn't be making so much of a fuss if she did want to leave. He guessed she just liked having attention from others some times. He was too anti-social to ever care much about having someone else's attention, but he didn't think it was odd or wrong of Agatha to. He tended to entertain her when she was like this, but he was just too drained to do it at the moment. He always needed to go swim or bath or anything to do with water after his new foster father tried to get him to socialize.
Gil blinked at her slowly. He figured he might as well ask her what she wanted for dinner. He wasn't going to join his foster parents and he was sure that Agatha wasn't either if she was in her 'run away' mood.
" I'm cooking tonight. What do you want? Fish?" Gil said to Agatha in a somewhat quiet voice from disuse.
Gil was always in the mood for fish, but he wasn't about to make Agatha eat something she didn't want to eat.

Fish. Always, always, always fish. Sure, Aggie didn’t hate fish, but when your diet was 90% sea food… Well anyone would get sick of it after a few weeks! And since Gil was picked up by her Aunt and Uncle two years ago, if Gil was in charge, it was almost always fish. If her Aunt or Uncle was in charge, it was half the time first, with a fishy portion always fixed for Gil because, for some reason, they were convinced Gil couldn’t eat any other type of food. Aggie knew he could. And never felt like trying to tell her Aunt and Uncle this, somehow expecting them to figure it out sooner or later.
So, obviously, when she heard that word, she almost instinctively made a very sour expression. Why did Gil’s mutation make him such a fish lover anyway? Didn’t it make him a cannibal or something? He was part fish after all! Quickly, very quickly, she wiped the expression from her face. Even if she was sick of fish, it was what Gil wanted, and her Aunt and Uncle wouldn’t object, so why should she? It’d make him happy, after all! Best put on a fake smile and nod, just for his sake.
Which was exactly what she did. A smile touched her lips (one he’d probably instantly recognize as fake.) and very slightly nodded her head. Even if she didn’t speak much, it was easy to tell when she was lying. She had specific facial expressions that would give her away, like that fake smile. And her movements were usually smaller, with a slight hesitation to it.

Gil watched as Agatha tried to fake saying she was in the mood for fish. He could easily tell she wasn't even if she wasn't so easy to read. He just nodded to her and then headed to the trailer. He wasn't sure why she always tried to do what would make him happy. He was content enough as it was and he felt he was being given too much special treatment. The one who needed it was Agatha if you asked him and managed to get him to respond. He wasn't sure how she felt, but he knew that she was having a harder time then he was.
Gil noticed her bags as he got into the trailer. She always put them out in plain sight when she was in this kind of mood. He just picked them up and took them to her room and put them on her bed so they were out of the way, and it would save her some time when she unpacked them. He went to what was the kitchen in the cramped place and looked at what was in it. He avoided the fresh fish that was in there, which was hard for him to do, and ended up grabbing the birds that his foster father had somehow managed to catch. He took them with some random green, leafy things and walked outside to the fire. He liked outside fires. He didn't like how they tried to dry his scales out, but he liked the warmth and cool air. He found a knife on the log that was being used at a cutting board and began to cut up the greens and birds into small pieces. He decided a nice soup would be good and after he had everything chopped up, put the pot with water over the fire and began to boil it. He went back into the trailer and grabbed some spices that seemed like they would taste alright along with some chicken stock powder. He put the spices and powder into the water when he started to bubble. After he put the greens into it. He had learned to wait on the meat from his foster mother since it cooked faster. He waited a few minutes before he threw the chicken in and began to stir it around.
The soup was starting to smell good and it could easily be smelt by anyone within 50 feet of the fire.

Naomi stepped from one of the smaller tents that the circus used for practicing the different routines that could be done outside of the actual big top. She had just been practicing for the past three hours, ever since her last encounter with Rowan she was determined to get her routine down to thirty seconds or hopefully with more practice even lower to the point where she was told, more like ordered, by one of the adults to take a break.
Walking through the grounds of the circus Naomi tried to look for something that would amuse her, but nothing was really catching her eye at the moment. Letting out a sigh she pulled out her special container that contained all of her sugar cubes. Naomi was about to pour some into her hand when she came across the smell of something cooking.
Someone was using and outdoor fire to cook, and she had a good suspicion of who it would be. With nothing better to do Naomi decided to follow the scent of the smell until she came across the one who was cooking and, what a shock, it was Gil. Naomi didn't really know him all that well, just knowing that he had been picked up by one of the fury families. There were too many to keep track of who was who especially in the lower families. In fact one of the few things she did know about him was that he liked to use fires to cook instead of a stove top like most people. She guessed that was because of how he had been living up till now.
Walking up to him she leaned against a tree that was close to where he was sitting. Upon seeing what he was cooking she had to comment on it. It was just to odd to see him cooking anything beyond fish. “That smells good, though I have to ask why not fish?”

Aggie was a people pleaser, plain and simple. In her mind, people she liked always came first. Which… Sadly, happened to be almost everyone she met. Everyone knew she gave into almost every demand you might have. Almost. There were a few things that she wouldn’t budge on, and when she finally planted her feet on something, no meant no, and you would probably never bring the subject up again afterward…. If only because she’d tell you not to. And people tended to do what she said. But, like was stated before, since she was a people pleaser, if it wasn’t something that really got to her, she’d go along with just about anything.
Obviously, she didn’t say anything when Gil left. Not like she could. She didn’t like ordering people around, especially people close to her. So, she just sat up there in her tree, watching him retreat back to her Aunt and Uncle’s trailer. She didn’t move for several minutes, just watched the empty space in front of the trailer, before finally looking away, refusing to look back.
After ten or so minutes though…. A rather tempting smell reached her. Her head tilted slightly as she took a deep breath through her nose. Well, whoever was cooking outside, they were doing a pretty good job of it. After a few moments though, she realized she recognized the smell. It was one of her Aunt’s recipes. Not exactly the same, but similar. Which basically meant only one person could be cooking. Gil was on dinner duty tonight. And her Aunt was overprotective of her recipes, she didn’t share them that often. But wasn’t he supposed to be fixing more fish? Apparently he’d changed his mind…
She sat up in the tree a few more moments, before the smell finally became to intoxicating to resist. With a sigh, she pushed herself off the branch. It wasn’t that far of a drop, only ten feet, and she landed on her feet with an acrobat’s grace. Both her parents had been acrobats, after all. Of course they’d passed on some skills before they died. Strange, before their death, all she’d wanted was to be up a trapeze artist. Now, she couldn’t even look at the bars. It didn’t change her natural ability though. She was a bit like a cat, she always landed on her feet, unharmed, from almost any distance.
It was a very short walk back to the trailer, and when she got there, she spotted that Gil wasn’t alone. One of her cousins (distant, she wasn’t sure how far. But around here, it didn’t make much of a difference. Still family) had been drawn by the smell. She didn’t say anything though, just gave her distant cousin a warm smile and nod in greeting.

Gil had watched the soup the entire time he was cooking it. He didn't have anything else to do, plus this way he didn't over cook it. He was so focused on the cooking that he was completely clueless to what was going on around him. He didn't notice that he had a guest until they said something to him. He was expecting a girl to show up, but the voice he heard wasn't a voice he knew. He looked up and saw a girl leaning against a tree. It was obvious that she had a connection to the Furies since she was back here, but he didn't know who she was or was connected to. He wasn't sure why she was being so familiar with him, or even how she knew he ate so much fish all the time. He never kept it a secret, but it wasn't like he was going around talking to people. He looked at her for a moment before he went back to looking at the soup. He didn't know who she was, but it was rude to walk into another person's 'home' without asking or being invited.
Gil didn't have much time to ignore her before he heard footsteps and knew right away that it was Agatha. He looked over at her and gave her a quick, friendly smile. He knew what she was going to do right away. She was going to go straight to the intruder and start fawning all over them. He was fine letting her do that, but he wasn't going to let her do it too much since she had a bad habit of finding the wrong people.

Naomi hadn't really excepted him to answer answer her question so it really wasn't all that surprising that she didn't receive an answer from him. Since from what she heard about him he was kind of shy and didn't talk all that much, especiallly to people he didn't know all that well, so she'd actually would have been more surprised if he actually had answered his question. Even though she didn't really know Gi personally who hadn't heard of the new, fish loving addition to the Fury Circus. He kind of stood out, what with his scales, so he was kind of hard to miss.
When Naomi heard the sound of approaching footsteps she looked toward where the sound was coming from and saw one of her so called cousins coming to join this little grip. From the looks of it it was Agatha, again she didn't really know her, only really knowing that it was her from her bright red hair and by how tall she was. To Naomi she was just one of the numerous kids that belong to the family.
When Agatha gave her a nod in greeting Naomi returned the smile and gave her a little wave. Not sure what to do now Naomi just waited for someone to break the awkward silence that had settled over the three of them, though with these two she didn't really know if it would ever be broken.

Agatha was a bit predictable most of the time. Gil had been waiting for the girl to show up as soon as she smelled her Aunt's soup, and, just like there, there she was. Predictable. Strangly, she didn't always stick to predictable behavior. Like, for example. Most the time, the girl didn't speak all that much, because she didn't know what words would have an affect on people, and which ones wouldn't. Her voice was something to be carful with, especially when she'd accidently made people do some pretty bad things. (Gil knew this from experience. The one time he'd ever seen the girl furious, she'd said something along the lines of 'you should go kill yourself'. And if Gil hadn't stopped the person, they would have gone through with it, too.) Anyway! The point was, sometimes, this girl would shock everyone and actually be vocal! Usually led to trouble, but it happened. Sometimes. Every so often. Okay, it probably only happened once every couple months. So she had a nasty habit of surprising people just whe they were getting used to her predictabe nature.
Today, obviously, she was her usual predictable self. Came when you thought she would. Kept her mouth shut. But somehow still attached herself to strangers. Like a puppy. Basically, the more you thought about it, the more it made sense to call this girl's nature puppyish. All she needed now was a pair of ears and tail to match!
So, as expected, she gave Gil only a short glance, before her attention seemed totally devoted to her distant cousin... Or sort of distant cousin. Sh didn't know Naomi was adopted after all. After a few moments though, the awkward silence set in. Gil wouldn't break it, obviously, and her cousin looked like she didn't know how. Which basically left things in the worst possible person's hands. Agatha's.
She hesited, before finally opening her mouth to say something. "I'm sorry, I forgot your name." She was careful, making sure to phrase it in a way that would only slightly affect the other girl, give Naomi the desire to introduce herself, but wouldn't force her to. (If Aggie had said 'what is your name?', the desire part of it would been taken out. The other person wouldn't be able to stop themselves from introductions.)

Gil just continued to sit in the silence. He didn't care how awkward the silence was getting. He just continued the stir the soup until he was satisfied that it was done. He poured it into two bowls that he had ready when he suddenly heard Aggie begin to talk. He looked over at her for a moment before he picked up one of the bowls and walked over to her. He handed her the bowl with a look on his face that said, " Be careful what you are saying" on it. He knew that Aggie was careful on picking what she said, but that hadn't stopped her from going overboard just because someone was talking back to her before. He kept his eyes on her as went back and picked up his bowl of soup and began to eat it. He liked the taste of it fairly well.
Gil wasn't sure what might happen with these two girls talking, but he needed to keep watching to make sure that Aggie didn't get into trouble. He would have just gone into the trailer if she hadn't been there.

Naomi hated awkward silences, normal silences didn't bother her, no she could handle normal silences but as soon as the tension of awkwardness entered into the mix well she didn't really know what to do. She didn't just want to up and leave because that would be rude since, you know, she did try to start a conversation with Gil. Though from the way he was acting he probably wouldn't mind if she just up and left. In fact he would probably prefere if she just left. Though if that was the case it made her just want to stay more just to bug him.
Even though Naomi knew who Agatha was she really didn't know what to expect from her. From what she had heard from the Furies that had met her she didn't talk all that much, so it surprised Naomi when she came off as, well puppyish. She was honestly not excepting that. If she admitted it to herself the first thing that came to her mind when she heard that she was quiet was shy, so to see her like this was...confusing. She honestly didn't know how to handle her, she wasn't used to people being so...eager that it was throwing her off.
When she actually spoke Naomi was in so much shock that she would have answered her question right away, even without her power. “Naomi.” When Naomi had the chance to recover from her shock she decided to add more to the conversation so it didn't laspse into another awkward silence. “And your Agatha, right?”

Aggie? Shy? If you mentioned that to ANYONE that knew the girl, they’d probably laugh themselves to death. This girl was, without a doubt, the farthest from shy possible. She was a social butterfly. And when she didn’t have friends? It took her no time at all to make some. Not always the right ones, but you got the picture. For some reason though, if you didn’t know the girl, it was always assumed she was shy and antisocial because she was so quiet. So, sadly, it wasn’t too surprising that Naomi jumped to the same conclusion as almost everyone.
And Gil, was a little overprotective of the girl, as most would notice almost instantly. One sentence, and he was already acting like he was waiting for her to accidently give a kill order. That had only happened once! He couldn’t keep holding that over her head… So, when he gave her that look as he handed her a bowl? She gave him one of her own. The girl had become a master at communication without saying anything. Gestures, facial expressions. She even knew sign language, but seeing as most people didn’t know sign language… Well, you got the picture. This look she gave him seemed to say “Well one of us has to talk.”, in an almost chastising way. She didn’t like that Gil kept his voice to himself. At least he could use his all he wanted, without having to worry about his words ACTUALLY hurting people! Which was exactly why she was always trying to get him out of that bubble of his and actually say something to people.
She didn’t touch her soup, just set the bowl on the ground for now. It was rude to eat in front of people and not offer them anything, which was exactly what Gil was doing. Instead, Aggie tried to keep her attention on Naomi, that brilliant smile of hers back. So the girl knew who she was? She hadn’t expected that. Most people tended to ignore her. And since she didn’t help out with anything circus related, she rarely got to know her distant cousins. Quickly she nodded. ”Just Aggie.” It was intentional, the way she said her nickname. She meant to sway the girl’s thoughts, at least in the sense that she’d think ‘Aggie’ before ‘Agatha’. The redhead only let her Aunt and Uncle call her Agatha. No one else. Never.

Gil understood perfectly what that look that Aggie gave to him meant. The two of them had spent more then enough time together to know what the other one was thinking most of the time. Gil wasn't easy to read, in no small part due to his mutation, but Aggie could read him easily, if she wanted to that is. He just ate his soup a little more before he heard what she had to say to the intruder. He didn't like how she had intentionally commanded someone else, even if it wasn't on such a big issue. He knew how Aggie felt about her name, but she didn't have to command the other person to use it. He thought about it for a moment before he let some air out threw his gills in an odd light hissing sigh. He looked over at the guest.
" Want some soup?" Gil asked in a quiet tone of voice.
Gil waited until Aggie was looking his way, since it was such an odd thing for him to speak. He quickly used what he knew of sign language to say, " Will you feel better if I actually speak?"
