Sarah tossed and turned for hours trying to fall asleep. But sleep just wouldn't come to her. She had bean at Xaviers for a whole week now. But it seemed more like a month. She missed her sister and her father. She talked to them on a daily bases. But more than anything she missed her mother. Sarah hadn't gotten a proper nights sleep since her powers awakened. It was uncomfortable with the wings. She used to sleep on her back but she couldn't do that any more. Finally around one am Sarah tossed the blankets off her and climbed out of bed. Her long red hair was messy from tossing and turning and her white blankets where twisted. She was wearing a black pj set.
She slowly climbed down the stairs to the kitchen. Opening the door to the kitchen she shut it and turned the light on not wanting to disturb anyone. Sarah walked to the cupboard and grabbed a box of hot cocoa with marshmallows. Setting some water to boil she sat down at a table and looked out a window at the night sky. The stars where shining brightly and their was a full moon out their lighting up the yard. Hearing the light whistle from the tea pot she got up and moved to the stove poring the hot water in a cup and stirred it.
Sarah walked back to the table and sat down blowing on her cocoa. She was so lost in her thought she never heard the door open behind her.

Alucard had become almost completely nocturnal by now. He wasn't avoiding people as much as he had been before since his 'condition' had managed to lighten itself as of late, but he just couldn't break the habit of doing things at night that he had formed and truthfully didn't want to. He found that he liked it much better at night. Everything was quieter and calmer without all the people screaming and yelling for no reason. He was truly a night owl by this point, and his love of books only made that name suit him even more.
Alucard was walking on the ceiling toward the kitchen to make himself something to eat when he noticed the lights in the kitchen come on ahead of him. He stopped and just stared for a moment since it was rare for anyone to eat at night, besides himself, so he was just going to wait for them to leave. He eventually heard the sound of a teapot whistling that it was done, but the lights still hadn't gone out. He waited a moment for them to leave, which turned out to be fruitless, so he just dropped to the floor and walked into the kitchen.
Alucard noticed a girl who looked younger then him in black pjs with wings on her back. She seemed to be lost in thought, and he wasn't about to disturb her. He walked over to the fridge and grabbed some random food items out of it and got everything ready to cook them without saying a word to the winged girl.

Sarah jolted from her thoughts when she herd the fridge open up behind her. Her light red wings shot out as shock filled her for a second. Concentrating hard she made them fold back up to her back. Turning around she spotted a guy who looked a few years older than her. He had auburn hair that she thought was cute. She cleared her throat tried to smile but all she was able to do was give a sad smile. "Hi I don't think I've met you before. I'm Sarah Johnson, and as you can see I have freaky wings." She ran her hand through her hair she tried to make it look a bit better. Sighing she gave up and just took a sip of hot cocoa. "Want me to make you a cup?" She asked trying to be friendly.
She wondered what powers this guy had he looked so normal. But allot of the mutants here looked pretty much normal until you saw them using their powers. The place was amazing and she was sure she would enjoy it more if she wasn't so deep in depression. She was always sad and she had shut herself out from others except her dog Rookie who was sleeping in her room. Just than the German Shepherd walked in through the open door and laid her muzzle on Sarah's lap. "Rookie what are you doing I thought you where asleep." She scratched her dogs ears and kissed his muzzle.

Alucard had started to cook the stuff he had grabbed from the fridge when the girl asked him if he wanted a cup of whatever it was she was drinking. He glanced over and noticed that she was drinking hot chocolate before he turned his attention back to the food he had on the stove. He wasn't much of a fan of chocolate, even though he didn't hate the stuff, but he figured he should give the girl a reply since she was being polite in asking. He didn't have time to say anything before a sound got his attention and he looked back to see a dog come into the kitchen. He looked for a moment before hearing the girl talk to the dog and figured it must have been her dog. He looked back at his food.
" No thank you." Alucard said to her in a calm voice.
Alucard continued to cook until the food was done and then put it onto a plate and put the dirty dishes into the sink. He grabbed his plate and looked for a place to sit down, but the only place to sit outside of the dining room in the kitchen was the table that the girl was at. He walked over and sat across from her and began to eat his food.

Sarah got up and walked to one of the cupboards by the fridge. Opening it she grabbed a bag of biscuits and took one out before putting them back. "I'm surprised anyone else is up so late. Couldn't sleep?" She asked in a soft tone as she walked to Rookie and handed him the biscuit.
"I haven't had a good nights sleep since my powers came in. What with the wings I just can't find a comfortable way to sleep," she sighed and took a sip of her drink. She could hear the crunch from the biscuit from Rookie. She was glad she had him. He helped make things easier for her.
Just than Sarah remembered she hadn't introduced herself yet. If her mother was still alive she would be disappointed with her daughter. "Sorry I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Sarah Johnson. I just came here a week ago." She wouldn't ask but she hoped that he would introduce himself to her.
Rookie finished the biscuit and walked over to Alucard and sat down looking up at him with puppy eyes.
Sarah shook her head as she watched her dog. He was probably hopping for some scraps. She wrapped her hands around the still hot mug and soaked in the heat. It felt so good. She took another long sip from the cup.

Alucard was eating when the girl suddenly began talking to him. She seemed like she needed someone to talk to, but sadly she had run across him instead. She introduced herself as Sarah and mentioned that she couldn't sleep because of her wings. He had overheard some students with wings talking about having the same problem before, and he had to guess that she must sleep on her back. He also noted that she was new to her powers or else she was far more sleep deprived then he thought she was. He was thinking of what to say to her when her dog walked over to him and stared to give him a strange look. He wasn't sure if the dog wanted petted or more likely his food, but he was sure the dog was begging for something. He didn't have much left on his plate, but he was already full enough so he set his plate down and let the dog have the few scraps left on it if they wanted it. He turned his attention over to the girl after that.
" I am Alucard, and I don't have issues sleeping, I am just a night owl." Alucard said to her in a polite tone that was slightly formal. " Have you tried to sleep on your sides yet? I hear that works for people who can't sleep on their backs anymore."
Alucard wasn't for sure what the girl would say, but he couldn't help but give her some advise. He had spent most of his life, that he knew of, with his powers so he was use to controlling them. He wasn't sure what kinds of powers this girl all had though, so he wasn't sure how much trouble she was in for in learning to use them.

Sarah laughed softly as Rookie walked over to the boy and started staring at him. She didn't know where he learned that. She never gave her scraps. She wondered if some of the other students did. When the boy put what was left on his plate on the ground she shook her head. "Don't make a habit of that please. It's not healthy for her. Besides I don't want her to get fat."
Rookie let out a low bark and started to lick the plate clean. When she was done she grabbed the plate and walked to the sink. She than jumped up setting her front paws on the edge of the counter and set the plate in the sink.
Sarah couldn't help but look at the guy to see how he reacted to rookie putting the plate away. "When my mom get sick I trained him to help her with a few things. That's only one of them. To bad I can't teach her how to do the dish's." She laughed softly finishing her cocoa and moving to the sink and washing the dishes out. Once done she dried them with a dish towel hanging beside the sink and put the away before putting the towel back.
"No I never thought about sleeping on my side I always found it uncomfortable before I got the wings. But I imagine it would be more conferrable than sleeping on my back."
Sarah walked back over to the table and sat down. She was hoping they could talk for a bit. She had bean so lonely the past week. It was so nice to talk to someone. "It's nice to meet you Alucard. What are your powers? As you can see I have wings but I can also control the wind. but at the moment I can't control it. My emotions actual control it for now. I can't wait to learn to control my powers."

Alucard just sat and watched as the dog finished off the plate and then took it over to the sink. He had seen some well trained dogs before, but that was a first on seeing one trained to do something like that. He was impressed, but it didn't show on his face. He just watched the girl head over to the sink and wash some dishes and listened to her talk. She sounded like she had been feeling lonely lately. He remained silent for a time after she had finished talking as he thought about what he should do. He finally looked at her after a moment.
" It is a pleasure to meet you as well Sarah. No one is ever good at controlling their powers when they first have them. You just need to spend time using them and working on them and you will be able to control them well before you know it." Alucard said to her in reply as he tried to give her a smile, but it only came out as a half smile at best. " As for what my powers are, they aren't anything you should worry about."
Alucard wasn't trying to be rude about not telling her what his powers were, he just didn't usually tell someone what they were. Everyone always thought his powers were creepy, disgusting, or freaky when they found out what he could do. He didn't care what people thought about him so much as he just wasn't in the mood to deal with someone trying to skirt around the subject of what his powers could do.

Sarah smiled it was so good to talk to someone again. Even if he was a bit closed up. Maybe he would open up to her once they got to know her. Out of the corner of her eye she could see Rookie curled up on the floor. She looked half asleep. Sarah was so happy she had bean able to take Rookie here with her. It would of broke her heart if she hadn't bean able to. When Alucard began talking again she listened to what he had to say. He seemed to be smart and she wanted to make sure she took any of his advise serious.
Sarah was unable to contain a sigh of relief at hearing all new mutants struggled with there powers at first. She noticed how he didn't tell her what his powers where. She wondered if he was embarrassed about them or something.
"I'm not going to deny it's a relief to hear I'm not the only one who has trouble with their powers at first. When I came here a week ago I felt like such an outsider. Everyone else seems to know how to control their powers already. And don't worry I'm not worried about it just curious. And I promise I won't tease or make fun of you. I'm not a cruel person."
Sarah hopped they could become friends. She really needed a friend here right now. Even if he was older than her by a few years. "If you don't want to tell me you don't have to. I won't force you." Brushing a loose strand of her light red hair out of her eyes she yawned. But she refused to go to bed yet. This was the first real conversation she had had since moving to this school. And Sarah wasn't ready for it to end just yet.

Alucard listened to what the girl had to say in reply and found what she said about not forcing him amusing. He was use to people trying to force things out of him, almost exclusively his family, so it would be interesting to see what this younger girl who had yet to get control of her powers would try and do if she did. He thought about it for a moment before deciding it was his turn to get some topic going. This girl wasn't like most of the other people who came here so far and she had yet to give him a reason to not be friendly with her, so he figured it wouldn't hurt to talk with her some. He could tell that she wanted to talk with someone badly as it was anyways. He looked at her for a moment while he made up his mind.
" What kinds of things are you interested in? I wouldn't mind listening to you telling me about them if you don't mind telling me." Alucard said to her in the polite, formal way he had been speaking to her so far.
Alucard just sat and waited to hear what she had to say. He was being very formal with her, but that was normal for him with someone new.

Sarah smiled at Alucard's question. What he should of asked was what wasn't she into. She let out a little giggle. "No I don't mind at all. I just need to think about where I should begin since I'm into allot of stuff. Hmmm....."
She was into sports and reading. Before her powers had awakened she had even started to learn how to play a guitar. It was up in her room right now. "I'll start with sports." She smiled she loved sports. "I am a major tomboy. And I love sports. Soccer is my favorite sport. Back home I was the Soccer star in my school and home town. When I got Rookie I even taught her how to play. She can kick the soccer ball with her head all over the field and even score. She's not bad," she laughed again. "It's the one thing I really miss besides my family. I don't have a soccer ball here I forgot to grab it when I left. I was to busy fighting to be able to take Rookie with me. I almost didn't get to bring her but I won the argument."
Sarah couldn't imagine being here and not have Rookie with her. She was her best friend. As if Rookie knew that she was talking and thinking about her she raised her head and gave a low bark before lying her head back down and closing her eyes.
"I love reading and I love learning. I was learning French when my powers appeared so I only know a few words. But I also know Japanese and Spanish. And I just started to learn how to play a guitar. I can write my own songs to. Now your turn what are you into?"

Nick was up and walking around the schools after hours he had some late night paper work to do and he had just finished Nick was on his way back to his room when he herd the kids in the kitchen he sighed he hated to be the bad guy.
Nick walked over to the kitchen his bare feet hardly making a sound on the floor, all he was whereing right now was a pair of jeans and that was it so his well toned body was apparent to see and so where the bags under his eyes.
He opened the door to the kitchen and stood there his arms crossed over his chest as he looked at Alucard and Sarah he had herd some of there little chat to each other so Nick joined in “Sarah is it….you can barrow one of mine if you want to the school has enough to use all the time And lets see what does Alarcard to beside stay up every night when he knows that its agiest crew few” he narrowed his eyes at Alarcard he knew better Sarah she could understand she been hear only a few times she may of not known. But Alacard had been going to the school long enough now that he knew and even if he said he was more of a child of the night didn’t change he didn’t have promision yet to take night classes and to sleep during the day.
