Mikey jogged down the path that led to the skate park, a bright orange skate board with a dragon on the bottom was held tightly underneath his arm, and in now time he reached the opening. Placing the skateboard on the ground Mikey placed one foot on the board while his hands began fastening the straps of his helmet. As soon as he finished he kicked his other leg steering his way over to the pool.
Setting his board at the very edge he looked down, and then he quickly pushed his skateboard over the edge, gaining speed as he made his way over to the other side. Coming up on the other side of the pool Mikey grabbed his board as soon as he was air born, turning it to take him back into the pool. As soon as he landed he removed one of his legs using it to pick up more speed as he neared another one of the sides.
Jumping out of the pool Mikey landed on the surface of the skate park and started to made his way over to where the half pipe was located, but when he was half way there his skate board hit something, though nobody else would see what it was, and proceeded to through him off.
“Whoa!” Mikey hit the ground.

Rylee had arrived from France a few day's earlier and had started to wonder around the city. She had found quite a few interesting things. When she saw the skate park she almost passed it by. But then she stopped at watched the boys and girls doing their tricks. Smiling she wondered in, sitting on a bench that was close to the fence, and far from the skaters. The last thing she wanted was to get hurt, or have to use her power.
She put down her small backpack and pulled out her sketch book and a pencil. Watching the skaters she looked for a position that she liked. Once she found one she liked she quickly started to do a very rough sketch of the pose then moved to the next. Each pose that she drew were made of rough lines and were about three to five inches tall and wide.
She was looking for a new pose when she saw one of the skaters meet the ground. It didn't look pretty but it didn't look like his board hit anything. He was a distance away so she just amused that the fall was the cause of some mutant ability that either he, or someone else had.

“Ow!” Mikey muttered to himself as he began to pick himself up off the ground. A slight stinging from his hands caused him to glance down at them and noticed that they were littered with scratches and were bleeding; some even looked like they could be pretty deep. His hands were also dirty, covered in dirt and bit of pavement from when he fell, which was at least part of the reason why they were stinging, probably; the most likely reason was most likely because of the scratches themselves. Letting out a heavy sigh Mikey grabbed his skateboard and headed for the exit.
He quickly made his way to where he knew a fountain was located. This happened to him more often then he liked so he had memorized the location of this fountain long ago. He finally reached the fountain which was located next a bench. Ignoring the girl who was occupying the bench for the moment he quickly turned on the water, placing his hands under the cool water.
Holding back a flinch Mikey just waited for most of the dirt and blood to be washed away so he could pull them out and grab the band aids that were located in his backpack.

Rylee continued to sketch, but after finishing one quick pose she looked up to see if the boy was alright. Noticing that the boy was now next to where she sat, washing his hands she dicided to speak up a little bit. "Are you alright?" She quietly asked the boy shyly. No one else seemed to even notice him falling. She had a thick French accent, but knew her English very well. She laid her sketch book, that was previously propped up, down on her lap. The simple sketches showing to the world. This way she seemed to convert all her attention to the boy who fell down.
Observing the boy she noticed that he was dark skinned and had black hair. He looked like he had done this before, the falling and the skating. But she felt rude to ask him any thing about it. She wondered if he went to the school, there didn't seem to be much else in the town, not that she had seen. But she did just arrive a few days ago. There might be a public school or something.
"So do you live around here or do you just like this skate park?" It did look like a cool skate park, so it did seem like a valid question.

Mikey was just about to pull his hands out of the water when he heard the girl on the bench start to speak to him. Or at least he thought it was him since there wasn’t anybody else around. Although, he thought, she could just be talking to herself, although that would be a little weird, not that he was one to talk since his power allowed him to create people if he wanted to. Not that she would know this of course since he wasn’t just going to come out and say ‘hey I’m a mutant.’ That would just be stupid and…..
Mikey shook his head when he realized that he was rambling, in his head. Got to love ADD. Finally being able to focus on the girl Mikey turned to face her. “I’m fine. This sort of stuff happens to me all the time.” Mikey flashed her a smile. Mikey was extremely accident prone, injuring himself in some way at least once a day.
When she asked him if he lived around here he nodded. “Yep, and even if I didn’t I would still have to come here since this is the only skate park in North Salem. At least I think it’s the only one. There might be another one, but I haven’t heard of one so I don’t think there is, but you never know.”
Mikey then looked at her. “So where are you from. You don’t sound like your from around here. If I had to guess where your from I would guess France, or made Louisiana, they have a French accent sometimes, right? Hands!” He exclaimed at the end.
Quickly shrugging the backpack he had been wearing off his shoulders Mikey began the process of opening the bag and pulling out the package of band aids he had placed in there. Donny, Mikey’s twin brother, had insisted that Mikey start carrying the things around,, and as much as Mikey didn’t want to admit it was a good idea.
Pulling one out Mikey began putting the band aids on the worse of the scratches, though he started struggling when he moved to place them on his right hand. He then turned to look at the girl, a sheepish smile on his face. “Um..I don’t suppose you could help me this could you?”

Rylee waited for his first answer and smiled. That was good that he was alright. She thought it was cool that he lived around her too, but he was quite a talker, bit it seemed random for some reason. She nodded when he asked where she was from. "Yes, originally I'm from France, Paris France to be exact. I've come to America for school this year, and maybe next depending on how well it goes.
When he grew quiet she looked back to her sketch book. She erased some stray lines and strengthened other lines to make them stand out. She worked on the sketches until he spoke. "Sure." Setting down the book on the bench she stood up and helped put some band aids on the worse of the wounds.
Once she finished putting the band aids on she looked up at the skater. "Is that better?" She was pretty good about putting on band aids. You have to be when your pracising your power in five inch high heals.
Rylee twirled her almost unnaturally colored red hair. She wondered if this boy had ran into her cousin Freya, who just so happened to have the same color.

France, huh? Wasn’t the‘The Dragon Lady,’ as some of his fellow classmates tended to call her, from France as well? He thought about it for a second, yes even though he had never met her himself he was pretty sure that was where she was from.
“Thanks” Mikey smiled as the girl stood up to help him he handed her the box so she could help, he probably could have done it on his own if he really needed to but it was good to have help for this sort of thing, he would probably go see one of the doctors at the school to get it checked out anyways. As she helped though he couldn’t help but notice that she must do this a lot.
Thoughts of the girl being as accident prone as himself suddenly flashed through his mind, and it suddenly occurred to him that he didn’t even know this girls name. Stupid!
He could have smacked himself. How could he not think to ask her name? That should have been the first thing he asked her, though to be fair she hadn’t asked him his so it sort of just slipped his name. Placing the box back in his bag he nodded. “Yeah a lot better, thanks again.”
Standing up Mikey hauled the backpack on his shoulders while asking her, “Hey, I didn’t catch your name. My name’s Mikey by the way, Michelangelo de Rio, if you were wondering.”

Noticing him think Rylee wondered if he would figure it out, but that didn't matter right now, plus she wasn't even sure he went to the school, so why was she worrying. Throwing it out of her mind she nodded as he thanked her. It was absolutely no problem. "Your welcome." She watched him put away the box in his backpack and put it back on. He seemed very well prepared.
Rylee giggled as the boy seemed quite worried that he had not caught her name. With a big smile she replied. "I am Rylee, or Rylee Ann Milena, if you want." Sure that he wouldn't figure it out by her full name, they were cousins but on her mother's side. She then sat down and looked at her sketch book the page filled with sketches of faceless skaters, maybe even one being of him. "So are you a skate boarder or are you just learning and like to skate around." She had to ask because of the big fall he had just a few moments ago, but he seemed to come here often. Even thought he seemed extremely prepared. Not many teenage boys were prepared for stuff like that unless it happened often to them.

Mikey could have cringed when she asked him if he was a beginner skater. He had been doing this for years; did he really look like so much of a beginner? Though to be fair to her she had probably seen his epic fail when he’s tripped over the raised side walk and ate dirt. No, the side walk wasn’t really raised, well it really was to him because in ‘Mikey’s world,’ as he had come to call it, it was. And since Mikey hadn’t been consciously expecting for there to be a difference it had taken him completely by surprise.
Though, in retrospect, it really shouldn’t have been. It had happened to him frequently as a child when his power first became apparent, though it had been happening far less frequently now that he was at the school and was learning better control of. He still didn’t have perfect control of it however, and he probably never would.
“So your name’s Rylee, huh? That’s a cool name, and no I’m not a beginner, I’ve actually been doing this for years. This, rollerblading, and even some martial arts. I’m just, as my brother would say, incredibly accident prone.”
Mikey then walked over to take a seat next to Rylee. “So what kinds of things are you into?”

“Thanks, I your name is cool too.” Rylee said when Mikey commented on her name. It was nice. Nodding when he said how long he had been bording. “Wow, then do you fall like that often, or was that just a bad time for me to look up?” It was probably a little bit of both. She laughed when he mentioned that he was accident prone. “I’m sorry, that sounds horrible.” But she did notice a few scares on his hands, probably from previous crashes.
Rylee thought about his question glad that he had sat down next to her. “I like drawing.” She then motioned to her open sketch book. “Dancing, hanging with my friends, at least I did when I was back home and I had lots of friends. I also like a little cooking, and some times I like learning things.” She looked at Mikey “What about you.”
Rylee then went to strengthen some more lines on her sketches. She was still paying attention to him, but was also working on her sketches. These weren’t meant to look professional, just to be something to look off of when she looks back on them to actually draw one of them for real.

“Really you think my name is cool? I always thought my name was weird. Well, ok, when I was younger I thought mine and my brother’s name were the most awesome thing since I thought we were named after the ninja turtles. It wasn’t until I got older that I realized that wasn’t the case.”
Mikey continued to smile at her. Then when she mentioned drawing and then brought attention to her sketch book Mikey’s sheepish look returned. How did he not notice that before? Dang his ADD sometimes, he couldn’t even notice the simplest things. “I see. What types of things do you like drawing?” Mikey didn’t know that much about art other than what he had learned back in a class he took way back in elementary school.
“How long of you been in the states? It doesn’t sound like you’ve been here very long.” When she asked him about that stuff he did he took a minute to think about that answer. “Well, I’ve already told you about skateboarding and that type of stuff so I guess other then that I like music, motorcycles, martial arts, stuff like that, anything that keeps you active. I have too much energy and sitting around just sounds boring to me.”
