It was the weekend, finally, and there was a break in his studying at the mansion. Studying for him mostly consisted of working on his powers, as of late. From he could tell, or at least from what he had been told, it may very well be that his power of good luck was not passive and was in fact controlled by him... If that was true then, well, it meant that he had a lot more control on the events around him than he had ever guessed.
Now normally, Damien didn't mind school work at all. Occasionally though, he wanted to be away from it all. Away from any mental work, away from it all. Away from the school, away from people, away from family, and just be alone with his own thoughts and in solitude. Sure, he was a 'socialite' as some called it, but even those that craved crowds loved a little silence now and then. As such, he had taken to exploring the school, as in, REALLY exploring it.
There were rumors that there were hidden passages all over the school. Some leading to hidden rooms, some leading outside, some as shortcuts across the school, and some were just false exits and dead ends. Apparently quite a few of the teachers knew about a lot of them, but everyone said that there were some that even the teachers didn't know about. So that was exactly what he set out to do today, spend some time with himself and see if he couldn't find one of these secret little passages.
As luck would have it (go figure), he managed to stumble on a false wall in the basement of the school, not far from the war room. If he remembered right, he heard one of the teachers talk about this one, but hey, it was worth the look right? Pushing aside the wall, he stepped inside the thin hallway behind it. Almost immediately the door slid closed behind him, great... Looks like he had to see where this one went now.
Luckily, a row of old lights lined the roof, seeming to be permanently on. They gave out a soft red glow, like that of a light that was about to give out, and from the looks of it, a lot of them had. Pushing deeper into the hall way, it began to get smaller and smaller, taking turn after turn. While exciting at first, a sudden noise, like falling footsteps, made him freeze, "Who's there? Show yourself!" He partially yelled, glaning in front of him and behind him, as if expecting an attack.

Reverie had been a student at the school nearly a week now, and things were still the same. She was getting lost right and left, people drove her insane, she met a really cute boy… Okay, change of thought. Um… Right! Passages. She’d heard a rumor or two (Thoughts in particular) about the school having secret passage ways hidden around the school. Dozens, hundreds, no one knew how many there were exactly. Or, at least, what she’d over heard from other students, no one knew.
Anyway, when she had the time, meaning when she wasn’t forced to attend classes, she decided to try and find one such passage. She was up on the main floor, when she finally found one of them. And by ‘found’ she meant resorting to eavesdropping until she overheard someone mention the location of one. In the basement.
She’d entered the tunnel maybe, five minutes before Damien. It was interesting, how she didn’t feel cramped at all in this hallway, probably because of her much smaller frame. Anyway, she only had one ear bud in today as she followed the creepy hallway. And it was creepy. When she heard another pair of thoughts though, she suddenly tripped, so surprised she couldn’t help but face plant it. That was probably what he heard, because it was right then she heard someone call out. It took a moment to realize who it was, but she was stumbling to her feet, and effectively out in the open (Or around the corner she’d been hiding behind. Seeing him, a very small, sheepish smile. ”Uh….. Hey.”

Damien definitely wasn't a person that was easily scared. After all, his little "complex" made it so that he always wanted to save someone, regardless of the situation. That being said, he couldn't really save people if he had a fear of a lot things. So, while he wasn't afraid at all of being alone, trapped in a passageway that lead to who knew where, that didn't mean that he wouldn't admit it was a little creepy. Dim lights, a creepy red glow, patches of absolute darkness where lights had blown out long ago. This definitely wasn't the playground upstairs.
So when he suddenly heard a noise in front of him, it did startle him, but only made him ready to fight. Sudden thoughts of horror movies with zombies rushed into his mind... Psh... Zombies, absolutely ridiculous... Man he'd be screwed if this was one. After a few moments he could hear movement and from around the corner... An attractive young blonde stepped out.
Immediately Damien let down his guard, recognizing the girl on sight, "Reverie, you scared the hell out of me." He said with a little laugh, admitting that she had made him jump more than a little. he would've asked what she was doing down here, but considering her nature, she was probably here for the same exact reasons as him.
Taking a few steps closer to her, he stopped a few feet from her, staying still on purpose... So she could see him, "Pretty crazy down here huh? How far ahead have you gone?" He asked, assuming she was exploring like him.

Honestly, dirty thoughts weren’t the only things she hated to overhear. Horror related thoughts being another. So, when she heard his mind turn to zombies? She just about jumped. Not fun. At all. Anyway, Damien was the last person she would have expected to run into down here. And yet there he was!
She smiled a little when he spoke, but it was that usual, nervous, far too shy smile of hers. ”Heh… Ah’m sorry. Ah dinnae expect ta… run inta… anyun down…. ‘ere….” Her voice slowly trailed off, as if afraid to say any more than that, which, obviously she was. Since meeting him, she’d developed quite the crush on him. Didn’t want to appear even stupider then she already sounded!
A part of her wanted to pipe up that it was the same reason, but something made her hold back. He didn’t need to know she was always reading his thoughts, after all. Just…. Some of the time… ”Oh, uh…. A … little…” Unable to help it, she nervously shifted her weight from foot to foot, yeah, this was quite the encounter. Meeting her crush in the creepy passageway…. ”No’ that far… Only been in a couple minutes.” Dangit! She could feel her cheeks faintly turning red. Why? Because he was taking her disability into consideration, remaining as still as possible, just for her convenience! It was ridiculously sweet… And thus, embarrassing.

It took a moment for Damien to understood what she said, pausing for a moment and repeating it in his head as if translating. Her accent was very thick, so thick that it was hard to understand sometimes, but he really did like it, "Neither did I to be honest, though I'm not complaining about the company." He smiled softly at her. To be honest, he had come down here because he knew he'd be alone, but as mentioned before; he couldn't tell a lie. So when he said he was glad he found her here, he really was.
Almost immediately the poor girl began to blush once more and her demeanor seemd to show how awkward she felt. Damien was almost worried if he made her feel awkward by being around her. After all, they had hung out a few times since their first meeting, and while she was saying more than ever before, she still seemed so nervous... But why? Had he ever done something to offend her? Nothing he could think of had happened, oh well, so long as she didn't leave maybe that meant she wanted to stay here with him? He hoped so, her company wouldn't be so bad.
"Yeah, I just came in myself. Well, if you're up for it, how about we explore a little together?" He asked, taking a step forward and attempting to step by her to lead the way. Honestly, he was going ahead with or without, he just hoped she wanted to come. As he stepped by her, his hand lightly grazed hers, "So, how are you enjoying the school?" Damien asked, trying to make small talk as he walked down the corridor. Ever few feet the passage seemed to get smaller and smaller, to where the roof was barely over his head and his shoulders were almost touching both walls.

Curse this accent sometimes… Seriously, she wasn’t trying to be difficult to understand! It just…. Happened… Her attempts to mask her accent had all failed thus far, and she didn’t see that changing any time soon… Like most the times he’d said something that could be somewhat flirtatious, she opened her mouth to respond, and closed it after a second, no words coming to mind. After a moment, her blush just got worse.
Why did she have to blush so much?! IT was just…. Crazy! She shouldn’t blush! She had absolutely no reason! And yet…. Dangit, she couldn’t help it. He was just so…. Nice! Hearing his train of thoughts made that blush go down just a little. ”Ih… Isnae yer fault…” Realizing she’d just admitted to serious eavesdropping, she turned bright red. ”Uh…. Uh… Ah’m sorry… Ah dunnae mean… Ta…” Her voice was failing her again. ”…. Pry…” Okay, was it possible for her face to get even redder? Probably… Considering this was socially awkward Reverie…
”Oh… Um… S-sure!” Letting him lead probably was a stupid idea, but her common sense seemed to have run out on her. Hearing the thought, she moved to the side a little, so he could pass her. And when their hands touched? Yeah, there was the rest of that blush. She knew it was there somewhere, finally found it. She would have liked it to stay lost…
”Ih’s…. Interest’in… Takes gett’in use ta. Bu’ ih aint bad…” Okay, this was freaking hard. While she didn’t have to bend in half to stand in the tunnel, he did. And, seeing as she couldn’t see him, she was being extremely cautious as she tried to follow. Tried being the key word. When you couldn’t see the guy, you didn’t always know where their foot was. So, sadly, taking one step that was just a little to big meant instant face plant. A startled yelp escaped as she took what would probably be a painful tumble.

The moment Reverie mentioned that it wasn't his fault, he paused for a moment, trying to figure out what she meant. What exactly wasn't his fault... Then it donned on him, she'd been listening to his thoughts! While he was surprised at first, he wasn't upset. After all, it wasn't like he was thinking about something that he didn't want her to know. After a second he simply smiled, "Don't feel bad. It's not like I would ever think something I didn't want you to know, so no worries." Well, there may be the occasional private thought, but generally if he thought it, he was willing to say it out loud.
Either way, he wasn't upset and continued walking down the passage. The lights on the ceiling that worked were begining to get few and far between, leaving long spots of darkness. Not to mention it was getting so small that Damien was literally having to stoop over to keep going and he had to turn to the side a little because his shoulders were rubbing either wall, "Yeah, be surrounded by a bunch hormone crazed mutants takes a little bit of getting used to, but it sure makes for a good time." He said with a slight laugh.
As the passage began to get even more narrow Damien was tempted to turn around. Since the door closed on him though, he really had no choice but to keep going. Suddenly, something caught on his feet as he began to take a step nearly tripping him. Luckily, he managed to glance over his shoulder just in time to see Reverie begin to tumble to the ground. Damien reacted before he even had a thought.
Quickly he grabbed her under her shoulder, his other arm wrapping around her chest, catching her before she could fall. Unfortunately, do to the fact that she made him stumble by stepping on the heel of his foot, he too fell forward. Tripping a little, he pushed Reverie against the wall, pushing against her himself to keep them both from falling.
After it was all done, he let out a slight sigh and laugh, "I'd say watch where you are going next time, but I don't think it'd help." He said, teasing her a little as he looked down at her. Due to the small size of the passage way, Damien was basically forced to press against her in the small space, though as he looked down at her he couldn't help but pause as he met those visciously blue eyes... and then her red lips... Quickly he tried to shake the thought from his head before she caught it...

Well, this was new. Usually people freaked out of she blatantly said she was in their head! Not this guy. He didn’t seem to care at all! How… odd… ”Ah know ye wouldna…. Just…. Ye know, feel… bad…” A short pause. ”A lot o’ people donnae like ih though… So…. Ah…” this was an actual hesitation and not a pause. ”Ah dunno. Ah just donnae want ye ta think ah’m do’in ih on purpose... er…. Someth’in…” Yup, she felt stupid. Saying way too much. WAY too much… Best course of action? Shut up and hope the really handsome guy didn’t notice her complete awkwardness.
After a moment, she smiled, actually smiled, and not that whole awkward, I have no idea what I’m doing, smile of hers. ”Just be glad ye donnae ‘ave ta hear their thoughts. Ye go’ ih lucky.” Again. Too much talking. Stupid, Reverie! STUPID! Why couldn’t she say at least one thing that didn’t sound totally stupid. She blamed it on the cute boy… They had a way of messing with a girl’s head.
Tripping wasn’t something she planned in any way. It was the absolute last thing she wanted to happen, it made her feel like a complete freak. Yeah, this was the moment where she wanted to turn and run. Did you think she wanted to embarrass herself in front of this guy. For some reason she was still in the mind set of expecting the worst of people. So she was still waiting for him to think she was a total freak and not worth his time.
Him catching her though? Didn’t even register in her thought process. So, honestly, she was beyond surprised (and WAY to confused because he just vanished, but she could still feel his arms around her). And, before she knew it? She was pressed against the wall, the guy so close, it honestly wouldn’t have taken any effort to kiss the g- WAIT A MINUTE! NO! Bad thoughts! Don’t think about that! Already she could feel her face flushing redder by the second. ”Ah… Uh…. Ah’m…. sorry… Ih was a accident…”
Strangely, she couldn’t bring herself to move, her heart pounding so hard in her chest she felt like it might break a rib or something. It was then, while thinking about how awkwardly close they were… That she caught the faintest trace of those thoughts. Well, it’d be pretty obvious she heard what he thought, considering how red she got in the fraction of a second.

Of course Damien wasn't upset that he had read her mind. After all, as he mentioned before, he had absolutely nothing to hide from her. She could read his mind any time and it would be just the same as if he spoken it. Damien was not the type of person to think one thing and say another, and by now surely she realized that. Though, before Damien could tell her not to apologize, all hell broke loose with her tripping. Ok, it wasn't that bad, but it was enough to completely ruin the conversation.
Funny, all he had intended on doing was just catching her from falling and hurting herself. Now they were in a very akward position, her back against the wall and Damien pressed up against her his face only a few inches from hers. Almost immediately though, her face turned bright bright red, and if Damien wasn't mistaken, his did a little too. Suddenly he could feel a slight beat against his chest, realizing it was her heart beat... he could actually feel how hard her heart was pounding, it felt as though it was going explode from her chest.
"Don't apologize... It was no one's fault." As Damien spoke his face got a little bit more red. Strangely, she wasn't moving at all, or making any attempt to push him away... Wait, why wasn't HE pulling away? Probably because his eyes had moved from looking into hers, to looking down at her lips and thinking just how easy it would be to simply give her a kiss right now. Sure, they didn't know each other THAT well, but it was obvious she liked him to some degree... right?
Shaking his head a little, he began to pull away and end this awkward situation when Reverie suddenly made a movement. He expected her to move away, but instead she leaned in closer to him, as if she was going to kiss him before suddenly stopping herself. So she wanted to too?... Unable to stop himself, Damien closed the what little distance she had made between them when she leaned in.
Softly, his lips met hers... and didn't leave for several minutes. Finally Damien broke the kiss and leaned away, "I'm sorry... I... I don't know where that came from..." Though he apologized, he didn't take a step away. He was still pressed roughly against her, only inches from her lips... He wanted more, to kiss her again, but was forcing himself to stop, if only just.

Honestly, she didn’t know what to think in this situation. And her thoughts weren’t the only ones a little jumbled. Damien was just as… well, frazzled by this situation as she was. And it was definitely embarrassing that he could feel just how hard her heart was beating. Yeah, this really sucked… Well…. It helped that she wasn’t the only embarrassed one, at least a little.
Really, mind reading was both helpful and annoying, especially at times like this. She could hear his thoughts, remember? Even that urge to kiss her… And then that urge going away…. And then coming back when she accidently almost kissed him herself when she’d thought about how close they were… Okay, now she was confused, all because he couldn’t make up his mind. A part of her really, really, wanted him to kiss her, and she didn’t have the guts to tell him. Another part made her think ‘Oh god, if he kisses me, he’ll definitely think I’m a freak.’, because, she was what Americans called ‘Virgin lips’. And a guy like this? He probably wasn’t interested in someone like he-
All thoughts came to a screeching halt as he leaned closer, softly pressing his lips against hers. Instantly, it was like a thousand butterflies had been set loose in her stomach. She was suddenly ten times more embarrassed then before, but at the same time… a little giddy? In that whole ‘Oh my god! Cute guy kissing me!’ sort of way. And not just a quick little peck either. Even soft, it was a serious kiss. And, before she could really register what was happening, she was actually… kissing him back?
When he pulled away, she suddenly felt this immense need to kiss him again. But really? Shy girl kiss him? Didn’t happen often. Especially not when she didn’t even know if the guy really liked her. ”Ih’s….. okay…..” A short pause as she blushed just a little more. ”Donnae apologize….” Hearing his need to kiss her again, she blinked, that blush back to where it’d been before, bright red. ”Ah can…. Still read yer mind…. Remember..?” For some reason, there was no complaint in her voice, still embarrassed beyond belief, but for some reason… It was almost like she was silently asking why he was stopping himself...
