Alucard was sleeping in a large, comfortable chair sitting next to Claire's bed in her room in the institute's newly built infirmary. They had made it larger and more efficient then the old one since they had the chance to start from scratch on it. Alucard had not left Claire's side since he had rescued her from that secret lab in New York City that a gang was using to experiment on runaways in. He hadn't left for two reasons: he didn't want to leave her side until he knew she was going to be well and because he could barely move his body or manipulate his blood after pushing them beyond their limits getting her to the institute. He just continued to sleep next to her with a blanket over him that a nurse had left for him to use.
Alucard was more then a sight as he got back to the institute. He was completely covered in blood, it was unclear by then how much was his own and how much came from the gang bangers he slaughtered. Claire was clearly not well in his arms and Alucard looked like he was about to drop on the spot himself. He had ended up running all the way back with her in his arms, since it was faster to move through the woods in a straight line then to wait for a bus or take a taxi. He was also covered in blood and carrying a clearly unwell girl and that would bring up more questions and have staled him even longer then it would have taken him to run. He had damaged everyone of his muscles and had pushed his powers too far when he got there, and was lucky that the first person to approach him was a member of the infirmary staff. He refused to leave Claire's side the whole time, and they didn't seem to feel up for arguing with him since they let him stay. He wasn't sure when he had showered off and changed cloths, but he knew he had some time during his daze period right after getting her to the institute.
Alucard just slept now though after all of that fuse of getting Claire here, and someone would have to wake him up if they wished to speak with him since he was not about to wake up any time soon.

Claire had gotten worse, but understandably so! Whatever they had given her was forcing a reaction, one she wasn't supposed to have. One that.... Every mutant went through... Lucky for them, their bodies were already prepared for the change. Humans.... Not so much. Their DNA was changing for heaven's sake!
Anyway, she'd shown no signs of her developing 'power' up until now. She was just.... well, sick was a good word. Her temperature was dangerously high, head splitting, and her whole body feeling like it was being slowly ripped apart. Thankfully.... one of the doctors at the school at her on freakishly strong pain killers... along with a few other drugs to keep her out.
She'd been there a few days, the drugs doing their thing and keeping her unconscious the entire time. Periodically someone would come in to check on her, shake their head in worry, and leave. There was nothing they could do. Finally, late in the evening of the fourth day, she stirred. Not in the way you'd think either!
The drugs had warn off enough that she was dreaming. Of what, who knows. Either way, she was tossing slightly in her sleep.... When out of the blue a vase, that had been on the other side of the room vanished, and reappeared a few feet above Alucard's head.... Crashing down on him... Talk about rude awakening.

Alucard was peacefully getting some much needed rest, finally, when the vase suddenly fell onto his head. He was awoken due to the pain of it, and a rough edge of it had managed to slice a small cut on his head open. He wasn't bleeding long before he had somehow managed to get his blood to shakily stitch it up. He didn't know what just happened, but it wasn't like he could move to investigate it either. He was just going to have to lay there and try to figure out what it was that could have caused the weirdness without moving. He sat there for a bit, but nothing came to mind since his head hurt too much and he hadn't been able to focus since he got back to the institute. His mutation did require mental control on how it acted so it was no surprise he had ended up burning himself out both mentally and physically after it was all over. He didn't end up thinking of anything, so he decided to just say something.
" Claire, are you awake now?" Alucard asked in a loud voice. " Claire? You up?"
Alucard was still hoarse from talking to her the entire time he had been bringing her to the institute and he was just too tired to keep up saying anything. His throat was throbbing lightly from being so sore after he had finished talking. He hoped she would wake up soon so he knew she would be fine.

Claire was still out, oblivious to the world around her, neither hearing or seeing what happened to Alucard. The way she was tossing and turning in the bed though made it look like she was having a nightmare, one that was having very strange affects on the room around them….
The room was relatively peaceful, if her thrashing wasn’t included. After a few moments though, all hell broke loose. Things started to, quite literally, disappear. After half a breath, the appeared somewhere else, sometimes fine and in one piece, sometimes up by the ceiling, crashing down to the ground with deafening crashes. The ruckus was so loud that one of the doctors came charging in, quickly assessed the situation, before running over to drug the girl once more. As the drugs started to take effect, everything seemed to settle down. No more objects teleported across the room, no more did she thrash. It was just… still.
The doctor, quickly looked at Alucard, slightly annoyed this had happened, but otherwise calm. ”Didn’t you say she was human?”
They’d done something to Claire. Something no one thought was possible. The last attempts to turn humans mutant had ended with the deaths of many people, including a Senator. So.... Either she was going to die sometime in the next twenty-four hours... Or someone had perfected the theory. Someone had found a way to turn any human into a mutant...

Alucard was just laying there on the chair, unable to hardly move as it was, when the peaceful room suddenly started to erupt like a dormant volcano into an overflow of activity. Everything started to teleport around the room and some of them crashed into the floor. Some objects outside of the room had been brought in as well, but it mostly seemed to just be objects in the room. He wasn't sure what he could do about the madness of the room seeing as he could not move, but he wasn't sure what he could have done even if he could move. A doctor finally came rushing into the room and got more sedatives into Claire, which caused the issues to go away. He mentioned something about being told that Claire was human, which she was before. He knew it had something to do with that crazy doctor from that place, but who knew what it was doing to her body. He managed to get himself sat up and looked at the doctor.
" Never mind that and I need you to do what I'm about to ask you to do." Alucard said to the doctor. " I need you to switch out her blood with my blood, and don't worry about blood type or any of that other stuff. My blood can be given to anyone and just replace the blood I give her with the blood your taking from her. Do it now doctor, before something worse happens."
The doctor was about to protest, but Alucard gave him a look that said to do it or die. The doctor must have been new or not have ever heard of Alucard for him to not know about that advantage of his blood, universal donor and receiver. He wasn't sure what that crazed doctor had done to her to cause Claire to suddenly develop a mutant power, but he hoped that introducing his blood might give her body the aid it needed to stabilize the change and adapt to it. This was the only thing he could think of to try and help her, and with him unable to more, it was the only thing he could do anyways.
The doctor hooked Alucard and Claire together with some transfer tubes, and they began to exchange blood. There was going to be a side effect of doing this for Alucard, he was going to end up getting very sick until her blood had cycled itself out of his system and been replaced by his own blood once more. Claire having his blood replaced with her own would only be healthier and hopefully would give her body the aid it needed to adjust to whatever changes it was under going.

Perhaps getting the drugs out of her system was a bad idea. A very, very bad idea. As they left her blood stream, stronger, healthier blood replaced them. Slowly, she started to wake. She feigned sleep though, cautiously assessing the situation. Someone was removing needles from her arms, the transfusion finished.
Instantly… Her senses were on high alert. This place smelled to clean, like a hospital. As silly as it sounded, her first thoughts were she was being experimented on. She had to get out. Now. Not wasting another moment, her eyes shot out, her legs swings off the bed and slamming into the doctor’s side. For her size, you didn’t expect her to have much power behind her attacks, be right now, adrenaline was coursing through her veins, giving her that infamous boost in strength. In the same moment, she twisted, landing on the ground after her initial strike, before sweeping out with a foot and yanking the man off his feet while he was stunned. His head hit the ground hard enough to knock him out cold.
Her movements were actually blurred, the attack taking only a few seconds. Without a second thought, she ran, never looking to see Alucard (So she obviously didn’t know he was there). Out of the hospital room, she picked up her speed, running as fast as possible, dodging around anyone she passed. Almost every person she was a teenager…. What the hell was this place…? She didn’t stop to ask, her instincts screaming at her to get out. By pure luck, she found a door that lead outside.
She didn’t even slow down when she was outside, Claire heading straight for the ten foot tall wall that ran along the school’s edges. It’d be pretty cool to watch what happened next. Keeping her momentum, she ran up the wall a few steps, throwing her hands up to catch the top and hoist herself over in one swift and graceful movement. Dropping to the other side, she stopped for a moment, catching her breath and letting her thoughts catch up to her body…

The brat wasn't picking up..and here he was about to congratulate him for a job well done and all that. No instead he had to run off with another girl who he had 'rescued' that kid was a little perv, and he was after Shaun's own heart, he had to admit.
The thing was now Shaun had to make a choice; did he trust Alucard to do his job, and go catch the doctor's little beauties before they caused him trouble? Or did he have to check on the little horndog before things got worse?
Knowing his lame accomplice, he chose the latter of the two options. He didn't like it, he was missing out on a fun little killing spree, and to top it all off he was taking a shot in the dark that the little rats would stay low for a while and not expose themselves to other cats.
He grunted a sound of disapproval as he picked up his phone again and made another call. ___________________________________________________
He arrived at the school, and waited outside. This girl, whoever she was, was a rat. And rats in a maze always find their way out, it was just a mater of setting the trap and waiting. If she didn't get out by night fall Shaun would mosey on in and pick her up, one way or another, making sure to cover any tracks, that the school might have found. If his hunch was right, though it wouldn't come to that.
When Claire vaulted over the wall she found a GT Viper staring at her, keys in the ignition, doors were locked, but the top was down so their purpose was rendered entirely moot. Now it was just a question if the rat would take the cheese.

Alucard could feel Claire get up as well as see as Claire woke up thanks to his blood being introduced to her and would have cursed if he had spoken. He forced his body to move through sheer force of will, and had gotten himself up and walking. He was moving the best and fastest he could at the moment, which was at about a slightly slower then normal walk. He could somehow track Claire as she hurried through the school to find a way out. He wasn't sure why he had this strange knowledge of exactly where she was located at, but he had an idea of where she was going, outside. He knew she had yet found one of the doors that lead out yet, so even at his highly limited movement speed, he had managed to make it outside of one of the doors leading outside before she had. He wasn't lucky though that she had found one not long after he had, but at least he could see her running towards the wall. Alucard knew she would be able to make it over the wall easily, and he was thinking of just letting her go but he needed to talk to her before she did anything because of what had happened earlier in the infirmary room.
Alucard began to hurry towards where she was running to the wall, but in his current condition, she would be long gone before he even made it half way to the wall. He needed some kind of plan and he needed it fast, but his head was kind of hazy at the moment and that weird sensation of knowing exactly where she was at was distracting. That is when the idea hit him though, he could do something to stop her or at least try to do it and stop her if it actually worked out in more then just his head. He waited for the moment that he felt she was over the wall and had touched the ground on the other side and then tried to use his power to force her to spot by using his blood that now had completely filled her veins. He kept walking over to her as fast as he could, and he wasn't sure if she was just standing there because his idea had actually worked or because she was figuring out where exactly she wanted to go. He managed to get to the wall after a some time, and he just leaned into it in the spot right across from where she was at when he did. He would have climbed the wall so she could see it was him and not someone pretending to be him, but he didn't even have a single hope of getting over it in his current condition. He would just have to do something that he knew that she would know only he knew, at least he hoped she would. He took a moment to catch his breath before he was ready.
" Claire, it is me Alucard. I'm not sure what you think is going on, but I can assure you that you are perfectly fine here. I brought you here after I got you out of that crazy lab so that you could get some help. I'm not sure what they did to you in there, but you looked like you were in extreme pain. Also, I would like to apologize since you being unable to move right now is my fault. I had them exchange out all your blood with my blood since I thought it might make you better and wake up, which it seems to have done, but then you took off before I could say anything to you. I can barely move right now, so I had to do the only thing I could think of to stop you long enough for me to catch up, I stopped you by manipulating my blood which is in your body. I can't hold you for long though, so please just hear me out and then you can do whatever you want, but it is important you listen to me." Alucard yelled in a loud enough voice that Claire was sure to hear him in Russian and his voice sounding hoarse. " You may not want to stay here, but there is a good reason for you to. I'm not sure how he did it, but that weird doctor changed you from being a normal human and somehow awakened your dormant x-genes. You will need help in learning to control it or you could end up hurting yourself or others around you badly. Please just let me help you.If you will just put some trust in me Claire and just do as I ask of you, then I can help you out. I would like to ask that you look for my room here at the mansion. You will know it is mine because of a large pot with a rose bush in it growing in the window. The roses are going to be very unique and hard to misplace. They are going to be blood red on the outside of the flower and quickly go from it to different shades of purple and finally blue at the very center of the flower. Just look for the roses, go through the window which shouldn't be locked, and just wait for me in my room. I'll tell you everything you want to know and do everything I can to help you. Please Claire, just let me help."
Alucard had finished talking and his throat and body felt like they were on fire from all the movement and use they had to go through even though they were in the condition they were in. He was only able to hold her there for a moment before his control over her was released, and he wasn't going to be able to regain it for who knows how long. The only upside to the moment was that he could still sense Claire even if he could no long do anything else. He just hoped she would trust him enough to do as he asked.

It was almost too be true. Right in front of her was a car. Not just any car though. It was a Viper. Now, Claire didn’t know a whole lot about cars, what she did know though… Was this was a really nice car. Right there for the taking…
She was cautious, considering leaving it there, but…. Seriously! She was a thief! How could she pass up the chance of snatching a car!? She rarely did it, but when you did, you got BIG bucks… Not to mention, she rarely got to drive anyway, and she might not have her license(She basically had to tell the world where she was to get it…), but she adored driving. It was fun…. It was way too tempting to pass up…
Still though…. As tempting as it was, Claire was a little curious. What sort of person would leave a car like this… With the keys in the ignition? Maybe the owner was visiting a friend across the street? Not expecting to be that long? If that was the case, she only had a small window of opportunity.
Making a face, she decided. To hell with the owner. This was her car now. The locked doors was pretty cute, as if the guy thought it’d stop thieves like her. Yeah, right. Smirking, she approached the car, circling it once. She’d have to steal another set of plates as soon as possible, for when the guy reported it stolen.
She was just about to jump in when… She couldn’t move.
Claire threw all her strength into it, but her body wasn’t responding. What the hell?! She started to panic, trying to break free of whatever was stopping her. Then… She heard a voice she recognized. Alucard…? Was this his doing?! He was using that freakish power of his on her?! She might not despise mutants, but the idea of someone messing with your blood (she didn’t know it was his, after all) was a terrifying idea.
Like always he was saying way more than necessary. Like hell she’d trust him! After what he was doing now, and the fact that he admitted he’d brought her here (wherever here was) against her will… Well she wasn’t a happy camper. Everything he said was in one ear and out the other. She didn’t want to hear what he had to say. Actually, she didn’t want to hear what anyone at this place had to say.
She didn’t respond, just waited. Waited for him to release her. Finally, her body seemed to relax. She tried to move, making sure she could, before looking towards the wall at her back. ”I don’t need anyone’s help.” With that, she jumped into the car and into the driver’s seat. Turning the key, she smiled. It started…

Shaun watched from two blocks down as Claire eyed that car like it was candy, he knew from that very second that he had her hook, line, and sinker, but then something happened, or rather someone happened.
Alucard, the little dunce, spewing out some inane bullshit of one kind or another. Shaun couldn't quite make out what he was saying from this far away, but by now Shaun could guess.'I'm your savior I'll keep you safe just be my little bird'. That was his game, whether it was real or not Shaun honestly couldn't tell, but he sure as hell hoped not. That kid had to have more sense then that. And on top of that he should know when to drop a game when it aint workin, grow up.
Anyway, once his little spiel was over the girl hopped in the car without much more then a second glance, a real poet that kid, he didn't know how to get the ladies, but he sure knew how to drive them away. Anyway with Alucard keeping an eye on his new girl, Shaun couldn't go with his original plan. That was alright though, any conman worth his salt knew how to improvise.
Shaun flipped a switch on the dashboard of his black BMW. and watched as the girl peeled off down the street. Shaun took the first side street available to him and drove slowly as he watched her location on his gps. He took the street a few rows in, he didn't need Alucard to connect the dots and get in his way any more then he already had. He kept at a slow nonconspicous pace as he watched her zoom to and throe in his car, clearly she was enjoying the ride. She should, that was Alucard's gift to her after all, soon enough it would all come to an end.
Once they got on the freeway, that is where things got interesting. Shaun loved the great open road, nothing, but asphalt for miles, and miles, and miles.
Shaun was only a couple miles behind her when he decided to have a little fun.
"Hello this is OnStar how may I help you?"
"Yes this is Ian Mcallister " British accent, rather snobbish with a hint of whales tossed in.
"It seems like my son has took it upon himself to go on a little joyride in my Viper, could you be a dear and shut the engine off for me...ahh yes the license plate number is 9185914."
"Yes it'll be just a moment sir."
"Thank you kindly."
Thank you sir, you have a nice day now."
"Oh, I will."
Shaun flipped a couple switches on his dashboard which would cause his Viper to billow smoke, both out of the hood and out of the steering wheel, well to be more precise it was smoke colored knock out gas, but tomato, tomoto what was the difference?
Now all he had to do was pick her up.

Claire didn’t know this area, at all. She drove around for a bit, trying to find some way back to New York. Finally, she saw a sign, one of those ‘this many minutes to this place’. And on it… Was New York. She wasn’t that far, but far enough to be a nuisance. Still, it was a pretty good car, so she didn’t mind the drive.
Turning on to the freeway, she didn’t realize she was being followed, at all. She was more focused on getting home. She thought a little about what Alucard had said, feeling a little bad for him… But no, she wasn’t going back. Not that she could, actually. She hadn’t even looked for a sign saying what city she was in.
Sadly, her little joyride came to an abrupt end as smoke escaped the hood…. And steering wheel? What the hell?! Dammit! She started to pull off to the side as the car slowed when… Her eyes felt heavy with no warning. No… Something was wrong….
The knock out gas did its job, putting her under in only a few moments. It probably wouldn’t have been nearly as affective if she’d left the hood down…
As expected, the car came to a stop. Thankfully she'd been smart enough to pull it off to the side when it started slowing, otherwise the car would be dead in the middle of the freeway.

Shaun drove calmly looking to the side of the road, until he found it, his electric blue GT Viper. It was a shame really that he had to let it go, but there was no use crying over spilled milk now was there?
he pulled over to the side of the road and played the part of the concerned citizen, not that many people would pay attention to him anyway. He jogged over tapped her lightly on the shoulder and then went to the hood to check the engine. While he was down there he put a little red device on the carburetor, before getting back up.
Now he mimed being on his phone and calling for help, for the benefit of any nosey passers by. and picked the sleeping girl up in his arms and carried her to his car. Out of his pocket he withdrew a small device very similar to an inhaler or a respirator. It was rather crude, with simply a plastic moth piece connected to a small blue squeezable piece of plastic, but it would do the job of keeping her out just fine. After stretching the rubber exercise band around her head to keep the mask secure, Shaun flipped the couple switches that were the cause of the 'smoke', and then he drove off slowly and casually down the highway.
Once he was a few miles away from the car pushed the pretty red button on the dashboard, and the abandoned car behind them went flying into the air, skidding into oncoming traffic. That would at the very least keep the road clear for a while, too bad about the car though.
The Antimutant threats in the back window of the car were a nice touch, they would easily throw any investigation off track.
But, now wasn't the time to reflect about that, now it was time to rejoice. He had exactly what he wanted, it was time to think of the things he would do to her.

Alucard just leaned against the wall with his body feeling like it was on fire as he could feel Claire not even hesitate at leaving without even seeming to think about what he had said. He would have sighed, but he heard a sound that he knew he shouldn't be hearing. He heard a car starting up and driving away. He knew Claire was in it since he could feel her leaving at a speed she couldn't move at no matter what. He wondered why a car was in such an unusual spot. There was no reason for a car to be there what so ever, but that didn't change the fact that it was. He knew Claire would be on her way to New York City in the car she obviously stole. He needed to get to New York as well and track her down before something bad happened to her. He only had one person he could count on at the moment to take him to the city, even though he knew he would pay for it later, and that person was his cousin Rose. He pulled out his cellphone which was on silent for some reason, it had been acting up lately and wouldn't vibrate when it was turned onto silent, and noticed he had missed a call from Shaun. He wasn't sure why Shaun would call him, but he would have to wait to find out. He called Rose on her cell and hoped she would pick up, which she finally did right before it went to her voicemail.
" Yes Rose, it is Alucard. I'm sorry that I can't explain at the moment, but I need you to drive me to New York City right now. You will find me near the drive way, I will most likely be leaning against the wall." Alucard said to her in a hoarse voice as she answered and didn't wait for her to say anything to him in reply. " Your the only one I can turn to cousin, so thank you and goodbye."
Alucard hung up his phone before he could get a reply and slowly began to make his way along the wall until he was easy to see from the drive way. He just stayed leaned against it, partly because his body was on fire and partly because he was too tired to go much farther. He just waited for Rose to find him and get him so he could get to New York City.

As bad as it was, Rose was used to strange requests. So, having her cousin call her, demanding that she take him to New York, and hanging up before she could get a word in wasn’t that strange. She just sighed, setting the phone back in her lap. She was out already, so she’d just have to head back to the school. She had considered not doing it, but he sounded pretty desperate. Saying no would probably crush his hopes. Or he’d just find someone else.
Pulling up to the school, she turned into the drive way, and parked the car, looking for her young cousin. When she spotted him…. She turned off the car. What the hell? He looked like he was about to collapse! Getting out of the car, she put her hands on her hips. Did he seriously expect her to take him to New York when he was obviously out of it?
”You’re kidding, right?” She walked around the car, over to Alucard, and fixed him with a stern stare. ”No way in hell are you going anywhere but the infirmary.” Pocketing the keys, in case he tried to grab them, she latched onto his arm, pulling him away from the barrier wall, and started to lead him back inside. And if he did try to escape… Well, he’d run right into her own barrier. She wasn’t going to let him run off.

Alucard was leaning against the wall with his body still feeling like it was on fire, his muscles refusing to listen to his orders to move, and his head now beginning to throb and feel hazy. He wasn't sure how long he was against the wall when Rose finally showed up and was there with him. He hadn't heard or even noticed the car she was in pull up or her walk over to him. He was only vaguely aware of what she said to him, which all he got from it was that she wasn't going to take him to New York City. There wasn't much he could do to fight against her when she grabbed him, and truly began to drag him back to the mansion which he had put so much effort into leaving earlier. His body was beginning to feel hot to the touch, a sign that he was getting a fever.
" Rose, I need to get to the city and find someone. I'll be fine once we get there, so don't worry about taking me to the infirmary." Alucard said to her in a voice that would normally sound pleading, but couldn't due to how hoarse his voice was and how sick he was feeling. " You can go do whatever you want after that, so please just help me get to the city."
Alucard couldn't fight back so trying to reason with Rose, which was clearly not going to work, was his only option. He was already getting an idea of what he could do though if she didn't listen to him, which was almost guaranteed.
