Winter was happy. Ecstatic, even.
She'd just recently gotten done with re-forming in the same back alley where she'd taken a life only a week before. Guy never even saw it coming. She almost felt a little sorry for him, for maybe an instant or two. Then she remembered the scenario, and all the emotions, the joy, the pleasure, and the flood of endorphins came rushing back.
She stood up calmly, like nothing had happened, straightening out her bright yellow tank-top over a black longsleeve, fixing the Lucky-Brand jeans she had on. then she tried to walk out with a straight face on. There was absolutely no chance she could have done it. She burst out laughing, then interlaced her hands behind her and started skipping out of the alley and down the streets.
What to do now?
She could make another kill. It'd be kind of fast, but there were plenty of targets. This was New York City, after all. Nah. Lining up one after the other...that was just silly.
She could celebrate. But how?
Tons of people were giving her wierd looks, quickly dodging out of the way as she skipped along by them, humming a little tune. It was like she was parting the Red Sea or something. It did little more than add to her natural high.
She smelled it before she saw it. And the minute she saw it, she now had a destination. She quickly ducked into the double-arched door and went straight for the fairly short line.
She'd become a guided missile, bound straight for a box of McDonalds French Fries.
It was about the only food she really liked. Other foods were just a mortal need of her human body. But these...they were her ambrosia, as much as a Big Mac was the ambrosia of the fat guy ahead of her in the line.
She stood there, bobbing her head from side to side, brooding in her mix of joy and impatience, desperately getting at the front of the line.

David was on a mission. Cain had reprogrammed him with his futuristic technology and now had the same strengths and abilities as his master. Devika did to, but he wasn't sure or cared where she went. Cain had sent him out for some "recruiting", which meant that he was to go out and bring back mutants for Cain's new army. He had to laugh at that, especially when given the freedom as to how exactly he would recruit them.
Where would the best place to look be? Why, New York of course, one of the major points of mutant population, as well as his old stomping grounds. And stomping is exactly what he planned to do. He stood in the middle of the streets as people walked around him, giving him odd looks. He just smirked at them and changed his form into stone, which caused more than a few of them to back away.
"Well, now that I have their attention, might as well start the party?"
He turned and picked up a nearby car with ease, even easier thanks to the nanobites that swarmed inside him. He gave a laugh as he hurled the car into, literally into, a nearby building. This caused many people to start screaming and running in fear, but he just laughed and started his attack on New York.

Winter heard the screaming before the crashing, and felt the rush of air that was a car plowing down the street behind her. There was quite a bit of damage involved, too.
Bluntly put, she didn't care. She was after her Fries still.
She made it to the front of the line, mostly because everyone else was panicking, and talked to the person at the counter, who had a pathetic look of total terror plastered all over his face.
"Hello, I'd like three large French fries, pretty please?" As if that wasn't cute enough, she tilted her head a little sideways and gave him the toothiest grin she could.
He just ran.
Well, poo. She could have jumped the counter, but that required effort she wasn't too keen on putting out. What she was keen on doing was seeing exactly who had decided to spoil her fun.
She stomped outside, reminiscent of a little girl having a temper tantrum. She was instantly confronted with a wave of smells; smoke, twisted metal, fresh blood. The smells started sending jolts of electricity running up and down her body. She felt them, reveled in them. No matter what happened, she was a goddess. Nothing could change that. She felt...rejuvinated. Empowered.
Ready.
She turned to face the big meanie who had denied her her Fries. He was pretty big. Not huge, but large. And upwards, not outwards. He was actually very fit, now that she thought about it. Especially considering he was totally made of rock.
"Hey!" She called out in her strongest voice, which was tinny and shrill. "You big meanie! Now I can't get my Fries!" She pointed to the McDonalds next to her, a mix of frustration, annoyance, and hurt painted on her face.

David was causing enough chaos and destruction to bring out the police force, but he could only laugh as their bullets pelted against his stone form. Changing his arms into stone pistons, he began pummeling the ground, causing the streets to shake and crack. A cruel grin on his face as the police began to run, but they were easily stopped. David had managed to make a giant wall of spikes sprout up behind the police, and the poor fools ran right into it without knowing. His attention was quickly diverted when he heard what sounded like a young girl yelling at him about...French Fries?
"Huh? French Fries?"
He stood up as more people began to run in fear, a few cars exploding due to the gas tanks lighting on fire. He looked her up and down, wondering how a girl would be talking to him as if expecting him to do something about it. He just smirked and chuckled at her words, crossing his arms.
"Look kid, it's an open restaurant now, so you can get your own food. I've got a city to destroy and mutants to recruit for my master. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to get back to work."

City to destroy? Mutants to recruit? Who did this guy think he was, Bruce Lee?
So damn gung-ho...
He was pretty good, though, Winter had to admit. Skill, finesse, quite a bit of brute strength. The ground was still shaking from his little ground-pound attack thing.
He would have made a fun playmate, had he not been throwing things around so much that she couldn't get much closer than that. Which was a pity. All the smells, the sounds of explosions, they were driving her crazy. She could feel urge after crazy urge. There were still a few people running away. And they were just so...unsuspecting.
Why did this idiot have to have all the fun? Almost casually, Winter reached one hand out and gripped the neck of a guy in a business suit. It took a little effort, but she focused the energy that was coursing all over her body into the palm of her hand. It blasted. Guy was dead before he really knew what hit him.
It didn't matter that her left hand was gone, leaving behind a bloodless, painless stump of a wrist. It didn't matter that the other guy was all over her in the most literal sense of the word, completely ruining her clothes. Her ears were ringing from the blast that had gone off right next to her ear, she was seeing a few spots from the flash. None of it mattered. The flood of emotion, endorphins, pleasure...
She giggled. Then cackled. Then started howling in laughter.
Two coupld play this game.

He continued his assault on the city, laughing as a few humans began to run as well as some nearby mutants standing against him to try and fight him. Their attacks were almost laughable, but Cain told him to start recruiting any mutants he could find, and thankfully there were mutants coming out of the woodwork now.
"Good, I was wondering when my fishing would get me a bite or two."
His back began to crack and split apart as eight metallic looking tendrils appeared from his back and started striking at the mutants that stood in his way, as well as a few who decided to run instead of fight. He laughed as the tendrils struck a few of them hard, injecting the nanobites into their bloodstream and causing them to now be in Cain's complete control. His attention was drawn once again to the girl infront of the McDonald's, hearing an explosion.
"What the..."
He was stunned at the sight. The girl that once stood there facing him, scolding him about frenchfries was now missing a hand, covered in blood, and laughing in a manner that would make any normal person's skin crawl. David just stood their staring at her, a small smile growing on his lips as his corrupted mutants now tracked down any other mutants to carry on his work for Cain.
"That's a neat trick."

Seemed like both of them were just stock-full of surprises.
Mr. Rock-man firing out a bunch of metal tendrils out of his back, hitting a bunch of people, doing...something. She didn't know, and didn't really care either. The flurry of emotions, most of them resembling joy and excitement, sent volts of electricity raging all through her body like gunfire. It took a bit to get a grip on them, but she pulled it off, enough to realign with reality.
She might as well not have bothered. There was so much confusion and chaos, glorious chaos, as every kind of person ran in circles with apparently no purpose at all. The only two not following the pattern were Winter herself and the Rockster not far away.
"That's a nice trick you have there."
Again with the gung-ho-ness.
Not like he wasn't one to talk, though. He had more than a few awesome tricks. But the way he talked...Winter couldn't help but giggle in her usual, high-pitched way.
"Thank you. Glad you think so." She giggled harder, starting to laugh all-out. It wasn't even the guy she'd killed, she was so over that. It was this other guy. She just couldn't help herself, he was just so...much...FUN!!!!
"What about yourself, though, Rocky? You've got an ace or two up your sleeve." As she said this, she started making her way a little bit closer to him. Not that she was planning something or anything.
Oh, no, not plotting his death at all.
She broke out laughing again.

"Rocky?" he said with a laugh, "Not my name, but I guess it fits for now."
He looked around as people began running in fear, both humans and mutants began to scatter like roaches. Cain had sent him to recruit mutants, but it looked like things weren't working the way he was hoping they would. Then again, attacking New York didn't help matters any, sure made it fun though. He watched as she began to walk towards him, his body automatically going on the defensive.
"Yeah I got a few surprises. Don't want to show them just yet though, might spoil the fun I'm having."
He laughed out loud as she continued towards him, but he didn't matter. She wasn't a concern to him just yet, but maybe he could talk her into joining Cain's army and help him have a little fun bringing down New York. More police came then, followed by a few members of the military. He had to laugh at their attempts to stop him, knowing that none of them even knew the kind of power he had right now.
"Aw, here comes more people trying to ruin my fun."

"Yeah I got a few surprises. Don't want to show them just yet though, might spoil the fun I'm having."
His laughter made her stop. Who was this guy exactly? And why was he so much...like her? The way he described this fight as fun (Which, by the way, it totally was), the way he kept laughing...Winter couldn't shake the feeling that they were really similar.
Naturally, reality decided to interrupt her thoughts.
It came in the form of a police and small-scale military respone to them both. Actually, probably just Rocky, but for all she knew, they were clearing out the whole damn mutant populus.
She instinctively shrank back a little. She'd never seen this level of response before, let alone been on the business end of it. She was usually tucked away inside the Pit before any manner of law enforcement showed up, safely invisible to the outside world. This was totally out of her league.
On the other hand, given how powerful she was, what was a few armed men?
At this thought, she perked up slightly. Time to have some fun.
Feigning shock and terror, she ducked into a nearby alleyway, crossing to the street next to them. Giggling slightly as she ran, she made her way alongside the cops nearby. Instantly, she started crying and howling in fake pain and terror, staring at her still-missing hand as if it had been removed, and stumbling down the alley towards the cops.
Whether it was her brilliant acting or the abundance of blood, one of the policemen came to investigate.
"Are you okay?" he asked, catching her as she started to fall over. He set her so that she was sitting criss-cross-applesauce, then knelt down in front of her. He was a little pudgy...too many doughnuts. Winter almost burst out laughing at that thought, but then remembered she was still acting, and covered it up with some more fake crying.
He was so totally clueless.
She reached over with her remaining hand and grabbed his face. He was too surprised to fight back.
"I'm feeling much better now, officer," she spat at him, then blew her hand apart. The explosion was pretty large, large enough to throw the dead pudgy cop all the way across the alley. Her clothes were so totally ruined. Not like that mattered now. That was just so....
She howled in laughter, screaming in joy and pleasure at this latest turn of events.
She remembered Rocky, and wondered what he was up to. Probably finishing off those other guys or something. It was actually kinda fun having him around. She got a constant supply of clueless dummies to kill, and he protected her without even knowing it.
Win-win.

He was about to attack the humans when he heard the girl screaming in pain down the alley. He gave her an odd look, deciding that the pain of her losing her hand must've finally gotten to her. He smirked at that, thinking that she was just a little more insane then he thought she was, or just slow on the uptake.
His question was answered when he saw a fat policeman going down into an alleyway and another explosion occuring. He had the funny feeling she was behind it, and sure enough the girl was standing there with a sick smile, both hands now bloodied stumps. He had to admit he was impressed by this, but couldn't help but wonder what she'd do now that both of her hands were gone.
He then focused his attention on the now stunned law officials and smiled. He placed his hands on the street, Cain's new "addition" to his power allowing him to do more than he'd ever dreamed. He smiled a large amount of cement began to rise, taking the military and police officials and vehicles into the air. They rose high above the skyscrapers, screaming in terror and shouting orders and obscene words.
"Should I leave them up there or drop them? Might decorate the place a bit if they fall, don't you think?"

The blast had left Winter's ears, and even though there was no pain at all in her hand, she was still left blinking spots out of her eyes. She heard a lot of confusion, something cracking, and plenty of screaming.
She couldn't place any of it. Partly bcause of her ears were still ringing, but mostly becauseshe'd remembered what she was doing in this part of town in the first place.
French Fries.
She got an urge, a craving, the kind of desperate need that simply must be satisfied. She worked her way out of the alleyway, still giggling slightly. Then she paused. And looked up. After all, it's not every day that you see a large quantity of military officials on top of a piece of concrete, which is on top of a massive metal pillar.
Winter burst out laughing. THAT's funny. The army and their high and mighty crap. Well, they were high now. At the thought, her laughter was renewed, and she almost couldn't breath from laughing so hard.
"Should I leave them up there or drop them? Might decorate the place a bit if they fall, don't you think?"
She thought about it for a second. He had a point. Which one? Leaving them up there might be a little fun. Then again, so would dropping them the few hundred feet to make some pretty artwork.
She must have stood there for at least a minute. Then she went ahead and decided. "Go ahead and drop them," she stated, starting to skip down the street towards the McDonalds.
Dropping them would probably be a lot less fun than blowing them up. Probably why Winter wasn't totally keen on watching.

"I like your style." he chuckled, looking up at his work, "Time to test gravity guys."
He laughed as he used his powers to cause the pillar he made to crack and crumble apart, causing bodies, tanks, and cars to fall to the earth. When he said it would make a big mess, he was underestimating things greatly. A loud crash and screams were made when the mess hit the new york streets, causing bodies and vehicles to crash down to earth, making a large pile of metal and blood in the middle of the road, like a wall blocking one part of New York from the rest.
"Now that was fun."
He smiled at his work, then turned and watched the girl head into the McDonald's restaurant. As he stared at the place, his own stomache began to grumble. All that destroying and "recruiting" had built up an appetite. He walked into the McDonald's after her, looking around for what he would like to eat. A lone man stood at the register, shaking in fear at the two of them. He grinned at the man who whimpered and shook.
"Here's the plan. You give us what we want, free of charge, and I won't make sure that you're the new topping on the fries. Deal?"

"Here's the plan. You give us what we want, free of charge, and I won't make sure that you're the new topping on the fries. Deal?"
"Well, aren't you big and tough?" Winter jested, nudging the guy slightly. In reality, the moment she touched him, she focused a little bit of energy onto her shoulder. Not enough for a big boom, mind you. Just a little. Not like it mattered anyways. Because with a little faint crackle and a few flying sparks, the energy went right into his body.
What the hell?
Winter thought for a split second as the guy behind the register shook his head so hard she thought it would pop off. She remembered that metal he had going everywhere. Was that inside him? It was the only explanation that made sense.
Whatever. If he asked about it, she could play it off as a little nip of adoration. Or something similar.
Acting like nothing had happened, she just talked to the guy at the counter. "If I could have three large fries, pretty please?" She smiled as she said this, then backed up a little so Ben Dunn could order.

He smiled as she nudged him, feeling a little bit of that energy going through him. It kinda tingled, though he was glad it didn't end up with him exploding like it had the two outside. He couldn't help but laugh a little when the guy nodded furiously and she spoke her order sweetly. He then smirked and walked up to the man, leaning in and meeting the human's eyes, just to unnerve him.
"I'll take an angus burger and a large shake. Got it?"
The man gulped nervously and David could see him sweating, whether it was from fear or the heat of the back ovens he couldn't tell. The man quickly rushed to get the food ready, all the while David turned his attention to the girl that was next to him. His curiosity towards her caused him to ask the first question.
"That was some trick you pulled. What kinda power is that?"
Though he enjoyed blowing things up himself, he had to admire a girl who laughed while blowing up parts of herself just to cause a bloody mess. It was pretty cool to watch and a little funny to witness as well.

Winters gaze hungrily followed the guy behind the counter, who was dashing off to prepare their food. This was nice. She got what she wanted, when she wanted it, and didn't even have to pay. She should definitely be sticking around with this guy...whatever his name was.
She was so excited at having met this guy that she went to clap her hands, before realizing she had a bit of a logistical issue.
Her hands were still gone.
Sure, the particle cloud that her hands had become were just starting to be not-transparent. But there was still a good solid forty minutes at best before they were back enough to be usable.
"That was some trick you pulled. What kinda power is that?"
She tilted her head, looking at him sideways. "A really nifty one, if you ask me." She giggled, then started laughing a little harder, before finally catching herself. she pulled out a nearby chair with one leg, plopped herself down into it, and propped her feet up onto the table.
She decided that this guy deserved some kind of explanation. So she told him what she knew.
"I was infused with a goddess when I was a little girl. Ever since then, I've been able to do that. I think you can work out the rest."
She gave the guy a poke, coupled with another "love nip", just to see that the first one wasn't a fluke. It wasn't.
"What about you, huh?" She poked him a few times to get her point across. "Huh? Huh? Huh? What about you, Mr. Granite?" She giggled slightly, then listened veeeery closely to his reply.
