Alucard had been stuck in the infirmary for several days after Claire had taken off, due in no small part to his own cousin Rose not letting him leave. He wanted to leave many times before, but Rose had put up a barrier around his room and would watch him like a hawk whenever she had it down to let the doctors and other people in and out. He wasn't sure why she was treating him like he had some kind of horrible illness, he just couldn't hardly move his body, his head was fussy and ache, and he was pale most of the time. He needed to go find Claire and make sure everything was going well with her after the weirdness he had seen in the room the day she left and the time she had spent in that lab. He had been thinking of a plan since Rose imprisoned him in the room, but had only gotten anywhere after his head started to clear up the day before. His body was still hurting and not moving at 100% yet, but unlike a few days ago, he was able to actually move it at more then a slow walk as his fastest speed. He had noticed something Rose had done and he planned on leaving as soon as she left to go to the bathroom or get some food again.
Alucard just laid there reading a book that was brought to him when Rose had left to go do something again. He knew she wasn't going to put down the barrier she was using to keep him in the room, but she had forgotten to put up a barrier over the ventilation system in the room. He waited till she was out of sight and then quickly went into motion. He set the book down, gently since he is still Alucard, and stood up on his bed since it was directly under the vent luckily. He moved the guard out of the way and crawled up into it. The ventilation shaft was large enough for him to fit and move around in, so he was able to place the guard back over the hole so it wasn't obvious how he got out right away. He crawled through the shaft as silently as he could and made his way to his room. He finally made it there after some time and dropped down into it. He quickly collected his satchel, wallet, a few books, and changed his clothes. He didn't take long and left using his window instead of his door so he was less likely to be seen. He made sure to close his window after he was out of it and left into the woods instead of using the front gate. He knew his cousin well enough to know that she would track him down if he left any good clues as to the direction he went. He also figured she would know he was heading to the city and why try to out run her when he could just let her pass him by without realizing it? He went on his way through the woods to the nearest town, taking his time as he did.
Alucard had taken his time and ended up heading off to the city after giving Rose more then enough time to get ahead of him if she drove to the city after him or have searched the entire mansion. He had made it to New York City before he realized it and he went straight to the part of the city he knew Claire was more likely to be. He wasn't sure if he would find her, but he had to try. He had looked and looked for several hours, when he suddenly found a spot that might be useful. He had stumbled upon some runaways holding up in a building not far from where he had first meet Claire. He went up to the door and walked in. He could tell that their were people around his age in here before any of them showed themselves, some of them hadn't done a good job of hiding themselves at all. He looked around slowly, but no one tried to come out.
" Does anyone know where I can find Claire at? You know, short girl who is good at stealing and has chocolate eyes and hair?" Alucard called out in a voice that was just loud enough so everyone heard him. " I need to talk with her as soon as I can, so would anyone who knows be so kind as to tell me?"
Alucard hadn't been feeling well since he had gotten into the woods after leaving the mansion. His body had so much been hurting from all the movement, which it had done that as well, as it was that he was feeling very hot, extremely light headed, and his vision had blurred a few times. He had to stop a few times along the way just to rest from episodes of sudden and extremely painful headaches, vision becoming too blurred for him to see anything, and his entire body feeling like it was on fire. The episodes just kept getting longer and longer and the feeling of being hot, light headed, and how much his vision was blur would get worse after the episodes went away. He wasn't sure what was going on, but he needed to find Claire and just ignore what his body was going through.
A girl around his age suddenly came out from hiding a few moments after he asked for Claire and meekly made her way to him. He recognized her after a moment, his blurred vision and light headedness not making things easy on him. It was the girl he saved from those men that lead him to meeting Claire and who he saved from the lab. He guessed with her being here, that meant that some or maybe even most of them he had saved from the lab. She was about to say something to him when something suddenly happened.
Alucard suddenly grabbed at his head and just dropped to the floor in sudden and agonizing pain. Another episode had hit him and it was effecting him much worse then any of the others before had. He tried to hold in his scream of pain, but he couldn't for more then a moment. He was curled up on the floor, screaming bloody murder. The girl was frozen in place with shock and fear from what had suddenly happened to Alucard right in front of her and some of the weaker stomached runaways took off to escape the scene. Alucard hadn't been on the ground screaming for long before he suddenly stopped. Everything had gone dark for him and he was out cold in the middle of the floor.
