Ah, books. There were so many wonderful qualities they possessed. Knowledge most people lacked. Unprejudiced against those who were.... well different. You could 'bug', or read, them as much as you wanted and they'd never complain. You could leave stickies or notes in them to help understand difficult passages. Best of all though? They weren't PEOPLE.
It wasn't that Alice 'hated' other living things, she just.... Didn't see eye to eye with them. Understandably, she though humans(and mutants) were fickle things, happy go lucky creatures, who's only real desire in life was to be as cheerful as possible. You could see how this could seriously piss off a mutant who rarely believed in such an emotion.
Alright, she was getting side tracked. She was hear to track down a few more books, not remind herself of the many reasons why she never got along with the 'normals'.
Sighing, she returned to her search, her vacant gaze focusing on the shelves as she scanned the book spins. Already she had replaced her wayward thoughts with her spending amount. She had only twenty dollars, which would barely get her a (cheaper) hard cover novel. Or, she could buy two paper backs for that same price. Or she could get three or even four used books. Well, it would all depend on just what she found..
She girl was so focused in her calculations, she was oblivious to the fact that she wasn't alone...

Nix walked in to the shop with three mangas under her arm and her coat hanging over her other arm, her hair was wild and was wrapped around her mouth so as she walked in she had to stop to pull it away from her face and dropped her books on the floor. With a dark mutter she bent over and picked up her books from the floor and then cursed ,"buggeration and fish sticks" she said quietly and then picked out her favourite from the pile and groaned as she spotted a bent corner on it. She walked over to the main desk and held the book out to the human kid working behind it ,"have you got any steam pressure cleaners?" she asked pointing to the folded corner and the kid looked at her blankly and nix rolled her eyes ,"I'll take that to be a no then shall I?" she said in a irrated voice and then turned away from the desk.
She looked around the store and then sighed ,she had come in to see if they had any anime comics but she had nonidea where to even start looking for them. She walked down a few rows of books and rolled her eyes as she spotted lots of spotty glasses wearing human teens but then she paused, there some one in here who tasted different from a human, there was a mutant in the room somewhere ,she just needed to work out who it was

((I’m slightly confused. What do you mean by taste? I don’t remember seeing anything about Nix being able to ‘taste’ people in her profile.)) Alice was oblivious to the outside world. Anything that wasn’t in her thoughts or her sights was completely and totally ignored. People were merely nuisances to her, the girl not even acting as if she remembered they existed as she moved from aisle to aisle.
At one point the girl stopped in the used books section, pulling down the first book that came into her sights. Hm… Jurassic Park? Interesting. She’d seen the movie, of course. Being a Horror lover, of course she’d liked the film. Was the book any better? The girl thought, remembering somewhere someone mentioning that the book was far scarier than the movie. Well, looks like she had one book. Flipping it over, she spotted the price and smiled a little. Only five dollars. So she still had fifteen left.
Down another aisle she went. Alice just about hesitated when she saw there were already two people down it, some random carrot top and a nerd. Great. Interaction with these impossible creatures was bound to ensue.
She’d managed to avoid the carrot top’s detection for the moment, but the nerd had spotted her. The moment he did, she glared, silently daring him to try and make conversation. That was all it took to get him to return to his business. Meanwhile, the girl’s gaze traveled the shelves quickly, trying to speed read through the titles so she could get out of this dreadful aisle as soon as possible.

*everyon has a different type of negative energy, she can feel the difference but can't explain how she can tell the difference so "taste" is the best way of putting it*
Nix looked over the rows of different comics and soon found herself bored, there was nothing her that really fitted her all that well, well, none of it fitted her at all pretty much. She did like comics and alway had done but as she had gotten older she hard found manga but accident and promptly fallen in love with the drawing and the different scope of the stories. She rolled her eyes as her fingers buzzed all of a sudden as her intake of energy suddenly peaked and she turned her head round quickly and looked around, the nerd up the row she was in had his eyes running over the only other girl in store and nix laughed ,"you don't get a chance kiddo" she said in a low voice and then grinned.
She opened her school bag and dropped in two of her manga books and then held her favourite one in her hand and then walked up the aisle and bumped the nerd out of the way and stopped next to the other girl ,"you staying in here with the overly hopeful boys or want out?" she asked with a grin

((Ah. Alright.)) It wouldn’t take a genius to figure out that Alice wasn’t a cheerful person. What with the dirty looks she gave most people, it was no wonder she’d worked up a nasty reputation of being a bitch. Any empathy of some sort could actually be swamped by her negative emotions if they weren’t careful.
She was intent on finishing her business here as quickly as possible, sadly, it seemed that wasn’t going to happen. First, she was disrupted by the nerd staring at her, then when the carrot top spoke to the brat, and finally when the redhead attempted to make conversation with her.
Slowly, painfully slow, Alice’s gaze traveled to the corner of her eyes, staring intently, darkly, and blankly at this strange girl. Moments passed in complete silence, Alice’s fixed gaze seeming to penetrate right through her, silently asking why she was being bothered. Finally she scoffed, rolling her eyes as they returning to searching the shelves. ”Are you suggesting I spend my time with a complete stranger?” She looked at the girl once more, her gaze a little darker then before. "Let's see, spend time with a living, breathing, nuisance, or in isolation.... Tough choice. Why don't you come up with a reason for me to swing in your direction."

Nix rolled her eyes and bite her tounge as the other girl started to talk to her and she snarled quietly under her breath ,"we ok um deeply sorry that I considered being freindly to you and saving you from the nerd gathering here" she mttered darkly and then reached up a hand. Then she paused and curled her hand up in to a fist and shook her head ,"like hell a low life is like worth my shadow" she said and then shook her head and pushed past the girl and walked upthe rows of comics and nerds and pushed open the door and walked out in to the wind
She heard a thud behind her and growled and then turned round and spotted her favourite manga stuck in the door ofthe comic store and She yelped in anger and shock ,"oh you have to be kidding me...." she snarled as she turned round to go and get her book and started storming back towards the shop ,"you choose a nice day to try and be social nixie" she muttered to herself under her breath and then she ran a hand through her messy red hair and messed it up even more as she walked
