James walked down the hallway toward Alice's room. This was normally something he would never do, at least during the day time, but today was special.
Today was the Summer Festival, and even though Alice didn't take much notice of things like this, James thought it would be a good opportunity to get her to open up to the world a little more...plus he really wanted her to be there.
Jame's and Alice had spent almost every night together since he had been there. Not doing anything....just walking, talking, and generally spending time together. James made sure to wreck his sleep schedule just to make this possible. He didn't mind though, in fact, he looked forward to it, but he couldn't help, but feel that he wanted a little more...
He wanted her to step out of her bubble and join him, just as he had stepped into hers. It was a bit scarey, and a bit dangerous, but he thought he would give it a shot.
James walked up and quietly knocked on Alice's door. When opened it clearly bleary eyed and not amused he asked a simple question: "Alice do you trust me?"

It was early, way to early. At least her. It was only the afternoon for normal people. Alice, being purely nocturnal, was locked away in her room (thankfully she didn't have a roommate yet), sleeping the day away, when she was disturbed. Grumbling, she rolled over to glare at the door, as if expecting who ever it was to go away. Apparently not. Covering a yawn, she slipped out of bed, not at all happy.
Grumbling, she crossed the room, opening the door just wide enough that she could see out, she stared up at James with a look that told him this better be important. She was tired and grumpy, definitely not up to random visits. There was no 'hello, how are you?' though. Blinking sleep from her eyes, she stared at him, still not happy about being woken, but suddenly wondering what he was up to.
A moment passed, before she opened the door more, at least he could enter if he wanted. "You're up to something." She moved to sit on the couch, staring at him as she covered a yawn. What did he mean anyway? "You're not going to ask me to go out there, are you?" It'd been a constant debate between them. James liked daylight, she hated it. She liked darkness, he hated it. But he'd stepped out of his shell and into her world.... Sadly it wouldn't be easy for her to enter the world of light.

James put on a wry smile.
"You didn't answer my question. Do you trust me?"
James paused for a second as he waited for a response.
His next move would either be the cutest, or the stupidest thing he had ever done, either way he never thought he would do anything like it.
"Listen...there is a giant trail of candy leading from here to somewhere...If you trust me you will follow me to see where this candy trail ends. If not, well then I guess I get it all..."
(the following breaks the flow of the post and I apologize but nonetheless I found it entirely necessary)
Technically James may or may not have spent a significant portion of his concert budget on candy to bribe Alice. the trail of candy in reality was being set by the actual him being very very careful to stay perfectly invisible just a few feet in front of them. the trail of ongoing candy was simply an illusion until the candy was actually placed. He would go out making the candy trail loop around the mansion one or two times and see what he could get away with.
If all went well she would get as much candy as she could possibly eat at the end, and James would have got his girlfriend to come out of the dark.

Alice stared at him for several moments, using her fingers to comb her messy hair. ”Depends…” What was he up to? She waited patiently for him to continue. Hearing his proposition… She blinked. A giant trail of candy…? What was she, five?
Shit…. It appealed to her.
”Do I get to keep it all?” She tilted her head. ”How far do I have to follow it?” She didn’t want to waste to much energy trekking out in the sun, just to get to the end of the candy. ”Do I have to be out in the sun?” It wouldn’t be a deal breaker for her, but it would at least help decide her mood.
Staring at him for probably two minutes, she mulled it over. It would be impossible to determine if she would agree or not, until… She finally shrugged. She’d play along. It’d be entertaining, and she’d get enough candy to last…. Who knew how long. When did he even figure out she had a weakness for candy. Or rather…. How? It was a little creepy that he’d somehow figured out her (normal) addiction.
”Okay. I’m in.” Alice shooed him out of her room. ”Five minutes. Stay there.” She shut the door, quickly moving to the closet to change out of her pajamas. She pulled on a pair of faded jeans, a plain black shirt, and a dark blue hoodie over the top. Shoes on, she left her room, locking the door behind her. Before even looking at James she’d pulled the hood up, hands stuffed in the pockets.

Where had James learned her addiction to candy? that was pretty simple he just paid attention to her. She spaced out so often that she would often forget that he was there at all. They had went out to eat a handful of times now, and though she often did not specify exactly what she wanted it became apparent overtime that she had an insane sweet tooth. Asking if desert sounded good was no longer a necessity, it was a given.
He was just glad this plan worked. He was unsure if he would ever get her to come out into the sun, and it was often a thought that plagued him in his waking moments, someone so lost in the dark would remain so unless they were shown a light, both literally and metaphorically.
All James saw in Alice was a beautiful soul, and while the rest of the world chided him for being foolish, he would wallow in his blissful ignorance, if that was indeed what it was.
As Alice stepped out of her room James carefully arranged a shield to protect her from any of the sun's radiation, as well as making sure to adjust her eyes, rather slowly and gradually, so that the effect wouldn't be all that noticeable. Then he walked behind her (or rather in front of her) as she focused on the ground picking up candy piece by piece...the absurdity of this situation was not lost to him, but it was something he had come to expect by now.

Alex was about to arrive Luke had just called her, he was nervous waiting sitting by the dunk tank hiding the remote to his rig in his pocket. Turning it on and off to avoid the constant feeling wet. If my copy gets ammonia do I get ammonia too? I might feel like it... This is the first date I've ever been on. I feel so nervous. Luke nervous went to look at his phone, feeling like hours had passed. Is it narcissistic to watch my own concert as part of a date? Or is just weird? I suppose I could romantically help her get me in the dunk tank, or would that be weird as well? sigh Luke put his hand behind his head in a nervous fashion. I need to calm down. Luke laid down for a moment proceeding to do sit-ups. He got up, realizing it would not be good if she arrived and he was sweating like a pig. Watching Alucard at his fancy stand at the other side of the festival. He stood up still waiting he had calmed down. Everything was planned out, as long as he played his cards right, which he knew he could, nothing would go wrong.

Alex was wereing a pair of denim shorts, with some converses that had lots of different colors on it. She had a orange halter top that in silver letters said HIGH FIVE. Alex jumped around her room she had checked to make sure she was o.k looking enough more then five times she was so worried about this date this was her first date and she was so excited for it.
She looked out her window and seeing the events going on down there it all looked so exsideing she was jumping up and down in her room. Alex took off down stairs and found Luke she smiled and waved at him “Hi!!” she stood there seeing what his planes where for the rest the day willing to do most anything for the date and there was a lot to do around hear form what she saw Alex was smiling at luke tilting her head a little. “So Luke what the plan for today” she saw that he had had his hand behind his head when she came up or she would of hugged him or something but she also didn’t know how he felt about hugging and was it o.k to hug for a first date.

Alice didn't care, or realize, that James was using his power to help protect her from the sun. She was doing the same herself, the area directly around her slightly darker then everywhere else. No, she was more concerned about the trail. She wouldn't bend to pick any up. Instead, every time she found another, the shadows under her feet would just scoop it up, tossing it up to her.
After a while, she didn't pay much attention to the trail, her shadow retrieving them all for her and hording them so she didn't have to carry them. The only attention the trail got from Alice was making sure she stayed in the right direction. "You didn't have to leave an actual trail you know... Just keeping them in the bag would have worked..."
Lately, Alice had been acting a bit strange. James had probably noticed. She seemed calmer, more thoughtful. At the same time though, this meant she spent more time lost in thought. But, her violent outbursts were sparse. Sadly... When she did have an episode, they were ten times more violent then before. Probably because it wasn't mindless attacks. No, Alice was becoming more and more like a predator. Plotting, calculating, and freakishly patient. She was getting even more dangerous....
Likewise, at this moment, she was showing signs of this strange personality shift. Before, she wouldn't have even thought twice. No light, even if candy was involved. Now.... Well, she was interested in what James was plotting. "Is something going on today?" He'd probably told her about the concert at least half a dozen times before now... But was it really surprising that she didn't remember? She had issues remembering anything she didn't think was important... Ouch, James had better not ask why she didn't remember about the concert. It'd probably feel like a slap in the face.

James smiled his now trademark pretty boy smile as he followed Alice...Things had gotten a lot better the past few weeks. James felt a lot more connected with her...she felt more solid...more stable. Like she was coming into her own. She was no longer lost and confused...not in a chaotic sense anyway...she was just searching...and pondering...and that James could identify with.
He had spent the last 3 years or so doing the exact same thing himself, he still had no idea who he really was or what he really wanted to do with his life. This was a plight probably everyone had to deal with, but at least he could take comfort in now sharing in it with her.
Eventually after they circled around the edge of the building, James decided to go ahead with his actual plan, and curved the trail into the direct sunlight toward a large seemingly velvet like curtain in the distance. Maybe his plan was foolish, but he was always a guy who believed in the power of grand romantic gestures, and this was no different.
The only question that remained in his mind, was if Alice was ready, and if he were truly honest with himself he would ask himself the exact same question. Was this relationship really about love, or was it simply two people clinging to one another to fulfill their own needs?

The nervousness had risen from Luke's heart, leaving him with new tension. Luke didn't know what to say except for the word, Hello He said it in his most enthusiastic voice he could manage. She then asks him what the plans are. Luke then responded in a playful manner as he feels a date should. First off, Too the cotton candy machine. He romantically held her hand whisking her away too the the cotton candy machine. That's what the plan was anyway in reality he was too nervous to spout those words and whisk her away. Instead, he just said we..we'll just start off with getting some... cotton candy... over there... at the cotton candy machine... They have pink and blue... and green... well let's go. Luke awkwardly grabbed her hand and walked toward the cotton candy machine near the mansion. Trying to calm down and be himself, an epic battle raging inside of him. Him versus a tsunami of self doubt if he fails, his first date could end before him in a flash. She would leave him and label him as a fool. Blue please, and what would you like Alex?

Alex smiled and held his hand and stayed by his side Alex didn’t have any plans on ditching her date she was so happy that someone had asked her out and she was sure Luke was a nice guy. I mean he was doing a booth that was volunteering and that was a good thing always.
Holding hands did feel a little awkward but Alex try to adjust her hand so it wasn’t so awkward for them. Alex smiled as she waked the stand when they got there and Luke asked what kind she wanted she smiled “Pink please”
As they weighted for there cotton candy Alex smiled at Luke and at the man making the cotton candy never letting go of Lukes hand when the mutant who was making it handed her cotton candy to her when it was ready she said “Thank you” then she then turned to Luke smiling brightly.
“Hey Luke…your acting nervous again like you where in the pool” she smiled giggling a bit “its o.k. I won’t bite this is my first date remember to lets just enjoy it have a good time and be are self’s I’m sure where going to have a blast”
Alex smiled at her she was sure this was going to be fun yea she was nervous but she was hoping it just past

Melody had just finished up with her last client, who was a student...and her hair had been dyed a deep purple with her bangs swishing off to the side and the back cut short. Honestly, Melody seemed gleam with pride. She had a grin on her face that seemed to spread from ear to ear. "Thank you for coming in and I hope you enjoy your new hairstyle!" She smoothly handed them her business card, giving details of what else she could do and where she worked. "I hope I see you again!" The girl with the new hairdo thanked her again, gave Melody a friendly hug and then walked out, obviously satisfied with the stylist's work. Melody watched people walk by, offering anyone a quick, stylish haircut and dye. She worked well and fast. What usually took most hairstylists hours, Melody only did it in only an half-hour to an hour. She loved it and liked the business, wherever it came. Whether they wanted emo cuts, or just bobs, Melody could do that. She even did make-up on the side, but she didn't love it as much as hair. "Anyone want a cut? Or just a style? Highlights, maybe?" As she kept making new offers to new clients passing by, Melody worked to clean up her last cut. Hair seemed to be strewn everywhere, but she quickly swept it up, making it clean and appealing to new clients that were thinking about coming into her booth.
