Appearance: Tristan has what many would describe as a somewhat "rough" or even "bad boy" appearance. He generally sports a goatee and rough shaggy dark brown hair that contrasts against his light blue eyes. Due to the fact that he is almost always traveling, many have called him a modern day gypsy in fact, he generally dresses in clothing that is durable and cares little about fashion. Usually found in torn blue jeans, a simply tee-shirt, and his ever present black leather jacket. As mentioned before, he has somewhat of a harsh appearance but doesn't mind as it usually keeps people from approaching him.
Strangely, despite his generally unkempt look, he almost always wears a silver chained necklace, a gold choker with a black stone in the middle (the choker usually isn't seen and the black stone appears to be simply clipped onto his shirt), and numerous rings on almost every finger as well as a few simple bracelets on each wrist. Tristan also has several tattoos on his body including one on his left calf, one on his lower back, and one on each side of his chest that extend from the bottom of his ribcage, up his side, and then barely come out onto either side of his chest. Each tattoo has a meaning behind it, but very few people have ever seen them.
on the inside that counts
Personality: Many have called Tristan a "modern day gypsy", and those many people would be correct. He is a traveler of sorts, and as much as he doesn't want to be, his grandparents actually were gypsies, and his parents were both travelers as well. So not only is it his personality to roam without end, it's in his blood.
That being said, it is understandable why Tristan has never let himself get close to anybody, and never lets himself get close to anyone. His entire life he never stayed in one spot more than six months, so he learned to close off his emotions to everyone. In turn, it has made him seem more than a little cold to everyone who has tried to get to know him. It was just simpler that way though, after all, if you didn't let anyone get to know you then it didn't hurt when you had to leave. Despite how cold he seems though, Tristan is generally a gentle person and tries to avoid violence and conflict as much as he can.
Though he is cold to people in general, and not too talkative, one shouldn't mistake that for being unsociable. Tristan has spent A LOT of time working at carnivals ever since a young age, as both his parents worked there, that being said he quickly learned how to talk to people. Well, maybe not talk to people but at least get them to trust and listen to him from a young age.
In ancient times, gypsies had a bad reptuation for being thieves, liars, and cutthroats. Well, in modern times they weren't much different. When Trist traveled with his father, it was not only common to steal from the guests who watched his fathers show, but it was encouraged. Sure, it may not have been "proper parenting", but it did teach Tristan a lot. It taught him how to survive in any way possible, even if that meant taking from others to keep yourself alive.
Tristan couldn't take the life that his parents lived for very long and when he was at the very tender age of nine, he ran away from his home. Using what he had learned 'working' with his dad, he began to make a life for himself. Though, it was interesting. He hated the life of a traveler, yet he ran away from home only to become one, seems it was more ingrained in him than he thought. Either way, it caused him to grow up very quickly.
The boy had traveled the world by the time he was fifteen, learning how to dodge cops, the CPA, and anyone else who wanted to slow him down. In fact, it almost became a game to him. He loved the thrill of almost being caught and then running away to the point where he actually began to seek those moments out. It also caused him to become exactly like his parents in that he could never stay in one place too long, not for fear of being caught, but because he simply couldn't. If he ever stayed in a spot too long, no matter how good it was, he had to get up and leave, he had to travel; blame it on the gypsy in him.
Most recently Tristan has been making his way toward America. No longer the young and foolish boy he used to be, but still needing help in certain areas of his life. He has always been persecuted for being a mutant ever since his powers developed, and it hasn't helped him learn how to trust people, only making him colder. However, he has heard that mutants are treated better in America and that there are people that could help him control his powers and who knows... maybe there could be a better life for him there.

FOR MUTANTS, Leave blank if you are human.
Power(s):
Telepathic Hypnosis - Tristan is able to telepathically "hypnotize" people, in the most basic sense of his powers. To be more precise he is able to put thoughts into peoples head and make them do things or say things that they wouldn't normally do. While he has the ability to do this with his mind alone, Tristan can't yet do it without talking to the people. Tristan himself calls this ability a "Jedi Mind Trick" as it is the only way he has been able to describe how it works. Once Tristan forms a 'connection' with a person (generally getting them to listen to him talk and pay attention to them), he can begin planting thoughts in their mind. He has used this to do something as simple as change a person's opinion of him, to actually making them kill themselves or others.
Lately, something else has been happening with Tristan's power. The last few times he has used his power, he has lost control of it and the people under his control began not only doing what Tristan wanted but began seeing things that weren't actually there. He still hasn't figured out if this was him doing it, or what happened, but has begun to realize that there is more to his powers than he may have thought. As a side effect of his powers, telepaths have a harder time reading Tristan's mind than a normal person. When a telepath tries to read his mind, they most often see or hear what could be described as white noise, almost as if his mind is 'blurry'. Powerful telepaths like Xavier would be able to overcome this, obviously.
~~~~~
Telepathic Illusions - Tristan does not have use of this power yet, but will in time and it is directly connected and part of his ability at telepathic hypnosis. He will be able to cause people to see, hear, and even feel things that aren't actually there; trapping their minds in a world that is created by him. These illusions are just that, completely fake, but they seem completely real to the point where they affect all five senses. While the illusions can do nothing physical to a person, because they are fake, they can actually hurt the persons mind... and if Tristan pushes it far enough, they can actually damage the mind of a person affected.
Weakness(s): Besides the fact that Tristan's power does nothing to protect him physically, meaning that anything that could hurt, harm, or kill a human could do the same to him, there are a few unique weaknesses to his powers. First, Tristan has not yet learned how to telepathically use his powers and has to verbally talk to be able to use them (though he knows he can do it without talking it is simply untrained). Also, he can't simply tell a person to kill themselves and they immediately do it, first he has to make a "connection" with them. A connection is simply getting the person to pay complete attention to Tristan, and then he will have them do something simple. If they do it, he knows he's made a connection and will start getting them to do more and more of what he wants.
However, a major weakness to his powers is the people themselves. The stronger the willpower a person has, the less Tristan can do. A person with a weak will and a weak mind, Tristan can easily overpower their mind and gain complete control over them to the point where he can use them as a puppet. However, a person with a very strong will is much harder to even influence subtley. The longer a person is around Tristan, though, the more likely it is they he can break their will.
No matter who the person is though, or how strong their will is, he can't simply walk up to them and make them do something crazy right of the bat; like kill themselves or others. If Tristan tells a person to do something that completely goes against what they want to do without establishing a strong connection first, they will reject it and it will be even harder for Tristan to gain control again. On the other hand, if Tristan starts out with something small and subtle, slowly building up what he asks them to do over time, it can actually become impossible to resist him.
Strangely, while everyone can be affected by Tristans power, whether human or mutant, it is all based on willpower. Yet, other telepaths are barely affected by his powers (at least the skilled telepaths anyways). While Tristan can still affect them too, he has to be far more subtle about it as they can see through his hypnosis more than others. Regardless, his biggest weakness right now is that Tristan has learned to fully control his powers yet and as such doesn't have complete control over them or know how to use them to their full extent.
Though he doesn't have the ability yet, Tristans power of telepathic illusions is almost exactly the same as the hypnosis. Unlike his hypnosis however, Tristan can simply cause an illusion to happen and have it affect everyone in sight of Tristan. However, if a person has a very strong willpower, and mind, they will be less affected the the illusions and with effort may actually be able to see through them. Strangely, illusions are more powerful on telepaths than regular people, but telepaths are the only ones who can see through the illusions if they can convince themselves that they aren't real or realize that Tristan is controlling them. Needless to say, Tristans biggest fear and weakness are telepaths.
Cause: Tristan's powers came out shortly after he ran away from his parents. Whether it was due to the stress of running away, or simply it was time for them to activate, he was about ten or eleven when it happened. Either way, when it happened it was obvious. An officer had grabbed Tristan after he had stolen a loaf of bread from a stand in Italy, the officer was about to take him away when Tristan said the man should just be nice and let him go. Immediately the man let him go, Tristan was shocked for a moment but then told the officer he should go away and leave him alone, the man immediately did so. Needless to say Tristan knew something was up and began expirementing with his powers, the rest, as they say, is history.
Other skills:
Foreign Languages: Tristan is fluent in English (barely having an accent) and Romanian. He can also understand and speak several different languages with varyin degrees of fluency such as Russian, German, French, Spanish, and Italian.
Evading: Tristan is very athletic, and naturally fast, and has used this to help him get away from the law more than once. When he was in France for a short time, he actually had some people teach him the most basic steps of Parkour, or free running and has since developed it on his own. It is probably what he is most skilled at; running away.
Survivalist: Obviously a person like Tristan picks up a thing or two and is fairly street smart, not to mention his is not bad a being a pick-pocket and handy in a barfight. Though, he would never call himself a thief or a fighter, as he is no master of either. He knows how to keep himself alive, and thats all that really matters.
Lateral Thinking: When it comes to planning, he truly "thinks outside the box" so to speak. Though he has never had any formal schooling, one shouldn't mistake him for being dumb. Highly intelligent and a fast learner, unfortunately, he generally uses that for trouble more than good.
