The sun was scorching hot, beating down upon the desert. Most were hidden in the shade or within the air conditioned areas of the boat, but not Sookie. She had found a lounge chair, donned her bikini, and was sprawled out on the deck of the boat, having the entire space to herself. She wondered where Remy was. She hadn't seen him since she woke up for the day, which was actually only about an hour ago. She didn't really even know what he was doing. She wasn't worried though, he could take care of himself.
Her keen senses picked up on a pair of rushing feet and she glanced over just in time to see some young Arab boys staring at her before ducking under a bench to hide, not very well at that. She smirked and shook her head. Boys would be boys and it wasn't as if they could do any real damage.
Then she heard a camera click and her eyes opened wide. They didn't honestly think that was going to fly did they? She growled and debated with herself. Get up and teach them a lesson or let it go.

this post gets the BEST extra stuff you get to read about richard!!! As an undead Warlock who willfully sows destruction without any provocation whatsoever, Richard is Cale's character foil and serves as the strip's comic relief. He is depicted as manipulative, powerful, and exceedingly evil, although he is also childishly playful. Richard is very sensitive about his less-than-threatening name and reacts aggressively to Cale's nickname for him - "Dick". His companions often react mildly to his frequently psychopathic activities. His titles include Chief Warlock of the Brothers of Darkness, Lord of the Thirteen Hells, Master of the Bones, Emperor of the Black, Lord of the Undead, and mayor of a little village up the coast which he describes as "quite scenic in Spring". He whimsically decided to add "Lord of the Dance" to his list of titles later on and, upon killing Ashella, took her title of "Mistress of Magma" for himself.. During a court trial with demons the judge refers to Richard's mortal self as "Lord Ashendale." Because he is undead, Richard can sustain normally serious injuries without dying or even experiencing pain; he believed that a torture chamber the group was sent to was a spa (although he may have only been joking). A running gag in the series, in fact, is Richard being impaled by a sharp object thrown at him from off screen. He is also light in weight, enough for Cale to shoot an arrow with Richard attached to it with little effort. Richard claims to be traveling with Cale out of sheer boredom and for opportunities to kill things. He used to have a companion - an imp named Hctib Elttil (whose name, Richard claims, accurately describes its place in their relationship) - but it ran away. He has a habit of singing at inopportune times or when in battle. In addition to his prodigious magical power, Richard was shown to be skilled enough in hand-to-hand combat to easily take out several trolls within seconds, claiming that he 'drained the soul of a monk once', and that it 'tasted like chocolate'. Richard seems to have as much (if not more) control over Cale's companion pet, the panther Sooba, as Cale himself does, even going so far as being able to summon the cat to his side in battle("Madness? This is Sooba!".) Richard also has his own pet, a rabbit whom he seems to care for, and who in turn cares for him, such as when Richard returned from his banishment to the 'Plane of Suck'. It is later revealed that the rabbit is in fact the Archmage of Kethenecia, whom Richard offers the use of his army to. Though it would seem that Richard's only goal in life is to sow death and destruction wherever he goes (after all the other characters have explained their various motives behind their quest of finding the lost Sword of Truth, he simply states "I. LIKE. TO. KILL. THINGS. (How is that not clear by now?)", it is implied there may be some additional motivation within him. The Phares, elemental spirits whom Richard harnessed the power of, said that they saw another presence behind the darkness, which Richard shrugged off by saying "I'm very deep." On the flip side, he once saved the life of a young child - an oddly selfless act for him. However, Richard may have done this in order to break a curse placed on him by Hctib, his imp, who returned to punish Richard. It could have been accidental due to the fact that the child was very physically close to him. However, it was stated that only an act of selflessness could break the curse, hinting that this act might have been genuinely selfless. Also, while on trial he stated that, like Cale, he was on a path he was compelled to follow, and after killing most of demon court he left stating that for the first time in a hundred years he had a goal. Most recently, Pretty, Pretty Unicorn, the little village up the coast which serves as the source of Richard's power, has been taken over and converted by Legara. To save it, Richard traveled there with Maikos, Sooba, and the bunny. Richard measures his existence in at least hundreds of years. During much of this time, he had forgotten portions of his life before he became undead, but some of the memories are returning. On page 338 it shows that Richard used to be a little kind hearted boy

"Well boys, read 'em and weap. Full house for your eyes only."
He smiled and slapped down three queens and two aces, and the others around him groaned and slapped down their cards. One of the men accused him of cheating, and he wondered how he could cheat wearing slacks and a sleeveless shirt. The man just growled at him and stormed off, taking his friends with him. Remy just smirked and grabbed the winnings and headed up to the top of the boat to meet Sookie.
He walked up just in time to see two kids taking a picture of his girl, which he smirked at. As they took off in his direction, he made it a point for them to "accidentally" run into him. After them giving him a nervous look, they took continued off down into the boat. Remy smiled and walked towards Sookie, smiling at the camera that had "mysteriously" appeared in his hand. He pocketed it and walked over to sit down next to Sookie, propping a leg up and resting his arm on his knee. He let the wind rush through his hair as he sat there for a bit before looking to Sookie.
"You sure look good in a two piece." he smiled, holding up his new aquired camera and gave her a wink, "Care for a picture?"

Sookie didn't need to open her eyes to know it was Remy. She had already become aquainted with the beat of his gait and his scent to be able to smell or hear him coming from a mile away. She picked heard the boys running into him before running off and she had a feeling that by the time he reached her he would have mysteriously aquired some new item of interest. Remy picked pockets even more than she did.
The desert was doing both wonders and horrors for her skin. The dryness left it itchy and dry and because of this she had to pile on handfuls of lotion every morning and night. However, the pale Sookie of winter was no where to be seen.
She didn't even acknowledge him at first, but she was very aware of him being there. He was blocking her sun. After he commented on her bikini she smirked and rolled over onto her stomach to reveal the tattoo that covered about a third of her back. "I'm surprised. Most guys think that I look better with more clothes on to hide up my illustrations."
Sookie lazily glanced at the camera and smirked before taking it away and clearing the memory card, including the photo of her before returning it to him. "Now we can make a scrapbook." the teased.

"I don't know, I rather like the illustrations that you present."
He smiled when she rolled onto her stomache, her tatoo standing out on her tanning skin. He traced a finger along the outline of her tatoo before following his tracing with a few gentle kisses. When she took the camera, he was a little curious about what she was going to do with it. Was she going to destroy it? Throw it overboard? No, instead she just deleted the memory card and handed it back to him. He laughed a bit when she talked about making a scrapbook.
"Good idea, I think we can start with a good picture from here."
He smiled and brought the camera up to his eyes, making sure it was focused as he positioned himself to take a picture of Sookie. Being a jack of all trades had it's perks, especially when it came to doing shots with a camera. A push of the button and a new picture of Sookies was made. He gave her a wink as he pocketed the camera. He then remembered the money he won and brought it out for her to look at.
"Want to grab some lunch when we land?"

She smirked as he mentioned liking her tattoos. The one he was tracing around was actually the first one that she got. Like most of them, it was a drunken mistake, but one that she was growing to love. Sookie had been going through a comic book phase at the time. That alone prooved to display error, but after a while Sookie was unafraid to display Wonder Woman. She was glad that her drunken self had decided to have the vintage Wonder Woman on her back. At least then it wasn't so cliche'. A lot of her other tattoos were just script. The one that caused the most question was the one on her forearms. It read Jetzt und immer die Segen von der Vater und bleibst Unschuldig bis Er kommt and hardly anyone found the beauty in them that she did. For this reason, she kept the mystery in them by rarely telling someone what it meant.
Sookie peeked over her sunglasses and pursed her lips in a kissy face until after the photo was taken. She ignored his question and yanked him down on top of her, pulling the camera out of his pocket and took another picture of her kissing him on the cheek.
"We should get a hotel room before food."

He made sure to plant gentle kisses on each of her tattoos, though he didn't kiss the tattoo of wonder woman. It just seemed odd to do that, so instead he just kissed around it. He had to admit she looked completely sexy when she made the kissy face with her sunglasses down a bit. He was glad he had a picture worth keeping in his "newly acquired" camera. When he was pulled on top of her, having his picture taken of her kissing his cheek, he could only smile.
"Why should we wait for the hotel?"
He smiled and straddled her before leaning in and pressing his lips against hers in a deep kiss. He trailed his fingers along her exposed skin as he kissed her, enjoying the feel of her lips against his and her skin against his fingers. If he could, he'd take her down into their cabin and how her just how good she looked in a tan body and two piece bikini. Then again, if he did that, she wouldn't be wearing the bikini at all. He didn't mind that either though, knowing that it wouldn't be the first time they did this.

Sometimes Sookie just had to shake her head at Remy. She kissed him back, of course, but she was fairly certain that she had better control over her hormones than he had over his. Before he could get too out of control, she wiggled out from under him and collected another lounge chair, pulling it into the sun next to the one that had once been hers but was no occupied by him.
"No one said anything about sex, Remy."
She took his hand and laced her fingers though his, staring up at the sun again through her smokey glasses.
"We need a hotel room so we'll have a place to stay once the boat is docked you silly goose."
A bickering French couple at the side of the boat caught her attention and she glanced their way breifly before continuing to listen to their conversation. Obviously, they thought they were the only French speaking passengers aboard the boat. She was trying extremely hard to not laugh. Appearently, the couple was habing some trouble in a department where Sookie and Remy excelled. They had even gotten complaints about how much they excelled at it. She tried not to laugh, but it was just too sad to not laugh at.

He only laughed at her words and made a vain attempt to catch her as she squirmed out to get another chair. He smiled and laid back on his newly claimed chair, placing one arm under his head as his other hand was claimed by Sookie, her fingers intertwining with his as he closed his own fingers around her hand.
"I know. Was only jokin'"
He closed his eyes and began to relax in the sun when he heard Sookie trying her best not to laugh at something. He opened an eye to her, then looked over to where the French couple were bickering and arguing with some unfortunately employee that happened to get in their way. He had almost forgotten Sookie knew French until she started doing her best not to laugh. This caused a small smile to form on his face. He wouldn't bother asking her about it if she didn't try not to laugh, which only caused him to get his curiosity up even more.
"So what's so funny about a couple seeming to not like having a fun little voyage along such a peaceful river and out in the blazing sun all day?"

She smirked and shook her head before readjusting the sunglasses up the bridge of her nose.
"Yeah. love, I'm sure you were."
Sookie was still fighting back chuckles when Remy asked what the joke he was missing out on was. She bit her bottom lip. "It would seem that that couple is having troubles in the bedoom. The woman seems to be upset because her new husband can't keep his friend up for very long."
Sookie was about to nestle into her chair again when a loud popping noise caught her attention. She looked around ti find that she was the only one who had heard it. it must have actually been quiet or far away. However she knew this sound. Machine guns.
She sat up and glanced around the horizon, hoping to see something, but it must have been hidden by the dunes. She got up and sniffed at the air before heading towards hers and Remy's room to put on some clothes. It may have been nothing but Sookie had learned by now that it was always better to be safe than sorry. She just wished she was being paranoid, but lately there seemed to always be reason for it.
