Shit. So he might not be able to slow it down? Well that was just great. She didn’t even feel like she could last more than a day! “Just… do what you can then…” It was rare, exceptionally rare for Rose to be this…. Submissive. Any other time and she would probably fight the person trying to help even if she specifically asked for their help. If anything…. It only made it all the more obvious just how bad Rose was…
Rose just closed her eyes as well when she felt his hand on her forehead, as if to check her temperature. Though it probably his intention, he would notice just how hot she really was. It was beyond feverish. And then Apocalypse was speaking again, half announcing what was wrong with her. Something that Cain had stolen from Apocalypse and modified…. But not even Apocalypse could stop it…. She would have spoken, asked just who it was that could stop what was inside her, but his other hand had moved to touch right above her heart. If this were any other time… She most definitely would have yelled at him for touching her there, she tried to scowl a little…. But only failed miserably at the expression.
Rose knew she was dying. But to actually hear Apocalypse say it, and admit that he didn’t know how to stop it… It wasn’t something you wanted to hear. Ever. She didn’t express her dismay though…. Just sighing and closing her eyes. “Apocalypse….” Unlike before, there was a sense of urgency in her voice. It might not be that important to Apocalypse or anyone else, but it was important to her. It was the only thing she wanted right now. “I need to see Ian…” She opened her hand, the one that she held the small recorder in. “I need to give this to him… Before anything else….”
He was scooping her up into his arms now, as if she weighed nothing. He might have slowed the nanobites, but that didn’t mean she would instantly recover. She was still weak from exhaustion. Like before, she didn’t fight her weak state. Things would just move swifter if she didn’t fight it… No matter how much it irritated her.
They were gone then…
