Often just called Xavier’s, this is no ordinary private boarding school. Every single student is gifted… Quite literally! They are all mutants, with unique abilities that set them apart from the normal. There are winged children, different skinned demons, and those that appear completely normal! But normal is not a word you will hear often at the place. After all, what is normal about students that can manipulate technology, control elements, fly, run faster than sound, disappear and reappear… And anything else imaginable?
Those sent to attend the school do so to learn how to control these extraordinary abilities of theirs in the safest environment possible… That doesn’t make it perfectly safe though! This is a school after all! You still have the populars, the nerds, the losers, the bullies. What’s worse? Most mutants don’t have full control of their powers in their teens! A lot of the drama caused by students is actually accidental! Sadly, there are still those who pick on those weaker than them, only these bullies have amazing abilities to help them as well!
The school also houses many mutant refugees, acting as a sanctuary to any mutant in need. They can range in age from children to elders. These mutants are not students, they are only staying at the school until it is safe for them to leave. They can choose to stay permanently though, which happens more than you would think!
The ‘Staff’ of the school aren’t exactly normal either. They are all mutants, just like the students(well, there may be one or two humans, but they can hold their own against these superhumans). When the school began, the students gave the staff a nickname that has stuck ever since, X-men. They protect the school and students, many of them are even teachers, teaching subjects that mutants will need to know to survive in this world. Educating isn’t their only priority though. These amazing men and women travel the world, protecting the innocent from mad mutants! All X-men are at least 18 and graduated from high school.

The Brotherhood of Mutants

More often than not, The Brotherhood is considered 'bad', and villainous. Actually, this isn't true! The Brotherhood is merely.... well extremists! They will anything and everything in their power to make things the way they dub 'right', sadly that has included making some not so law abiding decisions.
The one and only thing The Brotherhood wants in life, is mutants to be equal (or higher) to humans. Sadly, the world has shunned these ideas, and even gone to such lengths as to try and restrict mutant movements and sometimes extermination! Because of this, these men and women have lost faith in humanity, and see only one solution left to finally bring peace to this world.
And that solution? Extermination. They will do anything it takes to stop the persecution.... Even kill those who won't be reasonable.
Sadly, because of their extreme methods, this has lead to a lot of their members becoming monsters. They don't follow any rules except for those laid down by their leader, so you will have people from all walks of life among them, some being far more violent and heartless then others...

Morlocks

The Morlocks. Outcasts of the upper world. The Morlocks are a band of mutants that have chosen, or been forced, to leave the world of humans. Most, are incapable of passing as normal because of external physical changes caused by their mutations, with a few who appear normal but could never live among humans, whatever their reason for joining the group, they have found refuge in a series of interconnected bomb shelters beneath New York City.
Normally peaceful, the Morlocks have been known to occasionally be brought into conflicts, usually when their way of life is threatened, or when they have some sort of personal gain from fighting. They are led by one person, who is elected through a trial of combat. A bit primitive, but basically if you can defeat the current leader, you will take their place.

SHIELD

Strategic Hazard Intervention Espionage Logistics Directorate, also known as SHIELD, is, basically, a secret military law enforcement agency that deals with super human threats. Simply? They are the super human police. If mutants are involved, so is SHIELD. They aren’t anti-mutant in anyway, as you might think. Instead, they merely make sure that mutants do not consider themselves above the law. Actually, many of their agents are mutants, just as there are humans in their ranks. They make no discriminations against either as long as you fight for the cause.
The group has had many well known people among their ranks, like Tony Stark(aka Iron Man), Nick Fury, and several others. There base of operation is incredibly difficult to get to, the Helicarrier always mobile, they maintain several smaller bases all across the world.
