He had her now, could see her face and imagine it wrapped around flames. But then, he stopped, and no matter what he could do, he couldn't move. It was then he realized his folly: Freya was a fire element, and he was fire, which ment that she could control him. He felt himself getting smaller, shrinking down to a small flame. Fortunately the wind was blowing against them, signaling that a storm was heading their way.
"We...shall...see."
The small flame sputtered and vanished, disappearing with the wind, which also included Cain. He was glad that the wind had blown at that particular point, otherwise he would've been dead. Instead he had gained his new form and as wind, he began to pick up around Freya, slowly turning into a swirling vortex that reached towards the sky. He had centered Freya inside, and his form could be seen in the twister.
"I must admit I'm impressed. I was a fool to think that element could defeat you, but let's see how you handle the one element that can choke fire."
He laughed again, his form disappearing into the wind as it swirld around her. It continued to spin faster and faster, beginning to pick up debris along it's way, which included the wreckage from the downed house. Cain used his to his advantage, causing whatever he picked up from the ground to launch at Freya.

Freya was absolutely sure she could control Cain if she could keep him as fire. So sure she was actually over confident. If only she’d realized the elements he could turn into included the wind. At first when the fire had gone out she’d thought so was Cain. He was finally gone. That is… Until the wind started picking up. Shit.
This was bad. Being in the center of an ‘almost’ tornado wasn’t an ideal location for a Pyromancer. She couldn’t create fire with as little oxygen as there was in here. She didn’t say anything, her eyes narrowed into a glare. Things were escalating now, the wind picking up. The wreckage from the house was being sweep up in the vortex. Even worse… All of it was flinging towards Freya.
She reached out once more, lighting streaking out from her fingertips to strike out at the debris. She couldn’t keep it up for long though, she knew that. Unlike fire, Lightning was a lot more draining. If she were forced to resort to lightning the whole fight…
What was she supposed to do though? Just keep it up and hope he stopped before she used up all her energy? Like that would happen! It made her completely furious.
A sudden though crossed her mind as her gaze dropped to the ground. The cement was cracked and ripped apart from the Earthquake. Suddenly she was smirking again, even though her blood was boiling with her anger. That was always a good thing when she resorted to this. She couldn’t do it unless she was extremely angry.
The ground started to rumble, as if something were building under its surface. Suddenly, the ground seemed to rip apart, lava erupting from the newly made hole, rushing towards the vortex in waves…

Cain's laughter could be heard in the wind, watching as she resorted to lightening, blasing the debris that came her way. He continued his assault as the ground began to shake again. The earth cracked and split once more, causing the vortex to shudder and break apart. Dam her, what is she doing now, he thought to himself, then a wave of lava began to head towards him.
The first wave hit with a loud crash, causing the vortex to split apart completely and the debris inside to be melted with the lava. The wind rushed around Freya for a moment before moving against the lava. It wasn't natural wind, once again Cain was connecting himself with an elemental material, and the worst kind of the lot. As more lava came from the surface, the ground rumbled even more.
The next wave of lava rose up, but this time higher then normal. From inside the bubbling mess, Cain's laughter could be heard. His form was enormous, so big in fact that half of him seemed to be trapped inside the earth. The top form of him toward above most of the houses, the lava now spreading in all directions. Yellow burning orbs shown as his eyes and mouth. The bottom half of him stretched so far down into the earth, that he was now fullly connected with the earth's core.
"I must thank you, Freya." his voice boomed, "I've been wanting to be part of this planet's purest element, and thanks to you, I have. Allow me to extend my deepest gratitude."
He laughed as he brought his arms out, lava raining down onto the earth. He then slammed them together, sausing a massive gush of lava to head directly at her.

The vortex seemed to disperse as soon as Freya had resorted to extending her reach to the magma under the surface. It wasn’t something she rarely had to resort to, if only because it wasn’t the easiest thing to control, even for a pyromancer like her.
Still, it didn’t completely surprise her that Cain seemed to instantly turn his attention to taking control of the lava. Sure, his enthusiasm wasn’t reassuring, but he had to remember who was the expert among them… Right? Seemed like he’d completely forgotten that fact!
She didn’t react though when she heard his laughing from inside the mass of lava. And then… He was in sight again…. Or… Technically in sight. His form was completely made of the lava, so large most the houses were dwarfed by him, even though only half of his body was hidden beneath the surface.
Most definitely forgotten… He was trying to use the lava against her. Sure, if she let it touch her, it’d kill her, but she wouldn’t let it touch her. As the lava came rushing towards her she just reached out, the lava splitting in half as it neared her. They went in a large circle, turning back towards Cain. “Stop trying to use my specialties against me. You can be more original then that, can’t you?”

He wasn't fooled though, having learned from his last attempt at fire that she can control it. He just chuckled as he watched it swirl around her and return to him. The mass of lava below him began to expand more around paris, slowly reaching other buildings as the people coward inside of them. When she commented on his attempts being too predictable, he couldn't help but laugh.
"Fool, do you really think my attention is solely on you now? Have you forgotten I am now connected to every volcano on this planet?"
Another wave of lava was launched at her, but from all over the world, Cain was causing volcano's to explode everywhere. From the ones that were dormant for thousands of years, to the ones that had just recently settled down. Mountains began exploding, sections of the ocean began to turn into boiling sauna's. Cain could feel each on exploding with monstrous force, sending fire and lava spewing everywhere.
"Give yourself a pat on the back girl, you have single handedly given me the power to destroy this entire planet. Congradulations."
Cain laughed out loud as he rose up higher out of the ground, like a genie coming out of it's lamp and launched his entire form at Freya. His form changing into a giant wave of lava that towered high above her.

Shit. She hadn’t thought about that. Why… Why hadn’t she thought of that? Why had she made such a bonehead mistake and given Cain access to the Earth’s core?! What made it worse… If Cain ever did lose control of the Lava, it wouldn’t make any diverse to him, because destruction would be caused either way!
Why was she so stupid?!
Sure, she had some control over the element, and he’d probably realized instantly how difficult it was to work with the material. He probably wouldn’t care though. He was throwing everything he could at her. Freya? She was trying to stop his attacks. Much harder than just pointing the lava in one direction and leave it to do what it wanted.
And he was throwing everything at her…
“Even more satisfaction when we beat you, I suppose.” She only spoke because she felt like she had to. Yeah, she knew him being able to mess with lava was a bad thing, and… she really would be the one to blame. Everything that happened now was entirely her fault… It was disheartening. Very disheartening. If she weren’t so determined to beat him, she would have just given up to let him kill her, as penance for what she’d done, but Freya didn’t give up that easily.
Freya raised her hands, moving them in a slow, wave like motion. The lava seemed to follow the curves of her arms, passing over her head by only a few feet before crashing down onto the concrete, turning like it was following a river’s path and heading straight back for the crater all of it had come from. Already the strain was starting to show on Freya’s face, a few beads of sweat on her forehead…

"Don't be so confident, Elensar, I am eternal with this worm, while you have only very little time until you...."
He was close to finishing his sentence before he felt something drop on his form. He looked at his arm as another hit and sizzled, and as he looked up, his eyes widened as a rush of water began to fall down upon him. So cocky was he in his lava form, he never calculated that the one thing he could never predict were the elements himself. A storm had formed and rain was beginning to pour down ontop of him.
"No...NO!"
The rain continued to pour as his form sank in to the cracks in the earth, the volcanoes around the world subsiding. He had to escape deep into the earth and away from the water. Thankfully the earth gave him an escape from the watery trap. Cain's form changed from lava to earth, and as he rose up towards the surface, it changed from earth to cement. Cain rose up from the cement again, appearing behind Freya once more. He could tell she was tired, and as he drew his hand back, it formed into a spear once more and shot up towards her back.
"Gotcha!"

The weather often had strange reactions to to much heat. Especially Lava. You kept it out to long, and it would start raining. Just as Cain was witnessing. He was just a fake, using what he could, but never knowing what it was he was getting himself into. "You don't know much, do you? You mess with one thing to much, and you can cause a chain reaction." Freya didn't even flinch when the rain started to drench her. She had Tari for a sister after all! She was used to being drenched! And frozen. Along with another number of things! Why would she let a little water bug her?
Thankfully for her, rain didn't cool her form to the point where it became almost like rock. Cain on the other hand was having to deal with his body changing material with out his wanting. He had to get back into the earth before he became something to brittle to use. He was in the ground again.. It'd only be a matter of time until he was back as something else. This man was a pain, if only because you couldn't control what he became. And you never knew what he might appear as...
Freya had looked over her shoulders, her eyes scanning the area, looking for any sign. And right when her gaze had moved from behind her to her left... She heard his voice. Turning back again, fire lashed around her fingertips. She wanted to destroy this annoying man before things got even more complicated.
She froze, a surprised expression on her face. What had... Just happened..? Slowly her gaze dropped, going wide eyed when she spotted the cement spear running right through her...

(Posting here with permission from Freya)
The fight between the two titans among mutants had been epic to say the least. Buildings had been destroyed, and impressive displays of power had been shown. Some pictures of the fight had been taken by reporters at first, but now, anyone in their right mind was several miles away from here.
The heat between the two was immense, not just metaphorically speaking either. The fronts of buildings around the block that they were fighting were being melted completely. It was quite a scene to see two of the most powerful mutants in the world today square off against each other one on one. Too bad no one was around to see the actual fight except for the few reporters that were stupid enough to be scattered around filming the two.
On top of one of the buildings, unnoticed by both Freya and Cain, or anyone else for that matter, was a man in a black suit and black trench coat. A black fedora hat was pulled low over his eyes, making it impossible to see his shadowed face. He stood at the edge of the buildings roof, watching the fight between the two with his arms folded.
Suddenly the rain started, pouring down as if it was a monsoon, making it even harder to see him. Though he never even budged, continuing to watch the fight. It seemed the fight was over as suddenly as it started though as he watched a long cement spear pierce into the abdomen of Freya. The man made no move yet though, not yet. Cain could prove to be a useful ally, going down to help the woman now would be contrary to the goals the cloaked man was trying to accomplish.
Soon though, as soon as Cain left, he would make his approach. Slowly he backed away from the edge of the building, out of sight. Then seemingly disappeared into the darkness and rain, without a trace.

He'd done it. He truely defeated a member of the Elensar family, not just a member, but one of the daughters. He breathed heavily, his smile forming on his face as the spear went through Freya's abdomen and out of her back. The rain poured down on the two of them, and he held her in the air, watching her blood slowly make it's way down the speark that was his arm.
"You were good girl, but as you can see, I was better."
He brought his arm down hard, causing her to come down hard onto the earth. His arm retracted, becoming a normal arm, but his form not changing from cement. He reached down and picked up Freya by the collar of her shirt, looking into her dieing eyes. The ground began to shake and rise, a small mound rising up out of the earth, carrying the two high above the ground. Now standing on a pillar, Cain caused a small X to rise up behind her. Out of the ends of the X shape came long spikes.
With a cold smile, Cain slammed her against the X shape, impaling her wrists on the uper spikes, and her ankles on the lower. He stood back watching her hang from his new foundation, then walked up to her, touching her chin and lifting her eyes to his.
"As I said, try not to make a mess when you die."
He brought his hand back, making a fist before slamming it into the side of Freya's face. He smirked and turned back towards the edge and held out his arms, causing the ground around the pillar to split and seperate from where they were, leaving at least two car lengths between them and the rest of paris. Cain looked back to Freya one last time, giving a small chuckle before his form sank into the earth, vanishing completely.

Freya's overconfidence really had been her downfall. If she'd been more careful, kept a closer eye on Cain, did something other then just throw whatever she could at him... This wouldn't have happened. She'd made the one mistake that everyone had been warning her about her whole life. Do not underestimate your opponent. And now she was paying for that mistake.
She was already going into shock, her whole body numb. She didn't even feel when she was lifted into the air, her attention only on the thing sticking out of her. There was to much blood already, and when the cement spear was removed... It was obvious what would happen... Freya really wasn't going to be walking away from this one, even if there was a miracle!
What happened next, Freya had no idea. Everything was a blur. All she knew was that she was dying, blood loss draining the color in her skin, her body temperature dropping to a dangerous level. And before she knew it, Cain was gone. She must have faded in an out of consciousness during the abuse he put her body through, because she hadn't even seen him leave. That chilling voice of his was gone, replaced with a dead silence...

The moment Cain disappeared, out of the door of one of the buildings stepped a man in a black trench coat. In the middle of the scarred and destroyed land that Freya and Cain had been fighting on was a very tall mound. At the top of it was a massive X, and hanging limply on it was the red head herself; Freya.
Johnny was cruel, and cold, and could be one of the downright meanest people he knew, but to do a thing like this? That was just a whole other level of cruel, it admittedly shocked him a little. After all, deep down underneath the many layers of Johnny, there was a heart somewhere. Of course, it was obvious why he did this. Cain was making an example out of Freya, showing to the whole world that he had beat an Elensar.
Johnny wouldn't have it though, he needed her alive for what he wanted to do. Glancing around he saw absolutely no one, it was like a ghost town. Now was probably the only opportunity he had to help her before the news crews showed up; damn humans and their stupid news. Always ruining everything.
Without hesitation, he ran out into the open toward the mound and practically screeched to a halt when he saw the massive gorge that surrounded it. Glancing around, he saw a steel beam from what had to have been the eiffel tower. It wasn't very large and was thin. Quickly he ran to it and began sliding it toward the gorge as it was too heave to pick up.
Johnny himself could've just phased out of reality and gotten across the gorge easily, but he wouldn't have been able to bring Freya with him when he came back. After a few minutes of huffing and puffing he managed to get the beam across the gorge and on land on the other side. He quickly raced across it and up the mound to the giant X.
There was blood everywhere, running all over Freya and down the mound as well. "Aye... You just had to go out and piss off the biggest bully in the schoolyard, didn't you, love?" Johnny's smooth british voice finally spoke. Gently he pulled her hands, then feet off of the spikes and puller her into his arms. Picking her up with a grunt he carefully made his way down the mound, across the beam, then ran through the open park as the rain started coming down harder.
A few moments of running as fast as he humanly could while carrying Freya and he was able to slip into the back door of a hotel. Thankfully, no one was on the elevator or in the hall when the elevator reached the top floor. There was only one door at the end of the hall though, so it wasn't like it really mattered. He set her down gently in the hall, then phased into his spectral form and slowly seaped through the cracks around the door from.
Then there was a click on the other side of the door and he opened it up, stepping back out into the hall, grabbing Freya, and going back into the massive room to set her on the bed. He put a hand on the side of her face and gently pulled it toward him, leaning closely to her, "Are you still with me, love?"

Freya didn't know how long she hung there in the silence. It seemed like eternity. Was this really what it was like to die? Hoping it might come quickly just to put you out of your misery? For some reason, the only thing she could think about though... Was Rory. Why wasn't he here? Where was he? Would he know what happened..? She had plenty of questions, but the only thing she really wanted was to see that familiar face or hear that Irish accent...
She must have blacked out again, because the next thing she was really aware of was someone speaking. The words were gibberish to her, but it told her one thing. Someone was there. Freya forced her eyes to open, trying to lift her head to see who it was. God, where had all her strength gone?! She'd curse if she could, but only found herself blacking out again when she was hit by the waves of pain from being pulled off the X.
If Freya was herself, she might have gotten angry for fainting so many times, but with as much pain as she was in, well you couldn't blame her for not wanting to be conscious! She didn't know who her rescuer was, or why they'd saved her. Just that someone had. Again, that Brittish accent seemed to bring her back to her senses, pulling her away from the darkness that could only be death...
It took a lot more effort to open her eyes then it did before, if only because she knew she'd lost more blood. When she managed to finally open them she might have been surprised... If she'd been able to muster the strength to actually be surprised. It was what's his name... From the mall. "Y-ou..?" Why had he been the one to save her? Or... Maybe not save, because she could still feel herself fading. Take her down from what had obviously been meant as her dying place, was more like it.

When she started to stir, Johnny smiled slightly. "Love, if you wanted to kill yourself there are a lot easier ways than this." He said with a slight smile, pulling away from her and looking over her torn up body. Most of the wounds he could see were fairly minor... well, they were major to be honest, but not life threatening with some minor medical attention. However, the middle of her shirt had a massive hole in it and blood was pouring out and already soaking the bed.
"Don't talk, save your strength." He said looking over her, trying to decide what to do. Finally he knew what he had to do, he had to see how major the wound was on the middle of her body. Quickly and without asking her, he grabbed the whole in her shirt and ripped it open; exposing her body, but also exposing the large hole in it.
"Damn!" John couldn't stop himself as he stared at the wound. He knew how to patch up major wounds... but this... this was beyond major. The bleeding was profuse, something had to be done immediately or else she would simply die of blood loss. He grabbed her shirt and fully ripped it off her body, it was already torn anyways, and began tearing it into strips.
Rolling her over slightly he saw that the hole punctured through her back too... Maybe this was a good thing. Then the idea hit him, "Love, I know you don't have much energy left... But I need you to do something." He walked across the room to where the small kitchen was, and pulled out a metal skillet. It would be easier on her if she didn't have to use her powers for very long. "I need you to heat this skillet until it glows red... You are bleeding like crazy and if we don't cauterize the wound you will die, but you are so weak now if you use your power to do it, I'm afraid it might kill you." He said as he grabbed her hand and placed it on the skillet, waiting for her to do what she needed to do.

Why was he here? What sort of coincidence was that? A mall in New York, and now in Paris? Seriously, what were the chances? She might have called him some sort of stalker, or at least chewed him out for calling her ‘love’ again, if it weren’t for the whole, you know, dying.
Freya just closed her eyes, listening for once and not bothering to try and argue… Or even thinking about arguing. She just lay there, letting whatever his name was do… well whatever it was he was up to. At least… Until she heard fabric ripping. Her eyes slowly opened again, her failing gaze watching him as warily as she could. She would have felt embarrassed and furious right about now, especially when he just tore her bloodied and ripped shirt right off. As it was, being modest wasn’t exactly going to be on anyone’s list of concerns when they happened to have a hole through their stomach!
Again, her eyes closed as the moments went by, letting him return to assessing just how bad her injuries were. Forcing herself to stay awake. She knew that if you went to sleep when you were this close to death, it was unlikely she’d wake. And then, he was up to something. Running off and returning with… A skillet? Her eyes opened once more, watching him as she told her what his idea was… And what she’d have to do.
“I won’t… die.” Freya was stubborn after all. She wouldn’t let herself die yet.
Her gaze slowly dropped to the skillet he’d placed her hand in. A few moments passed where nothing happened, until finally, obviously not with the same strength as before, it started to heat. Slowly but surely. The hotter the skillet got though, the paler and colder Freya became.
((Wow… well that sucked. Oh well.))
