He had to admit that Tim's idea for starting the Halloween Party was a great success, and Hank and Kurt putting the Thanksgiving dinner together also went well. The festivities had allowed everyone in the mansion to forget the troubles of the outside world and just enjoy themselves.
It was such a good idea in fact, that he decided to start up the Christmas/New Years party himself. He had aquired Logan and gambit to help with the Christmas tree which now sitting at the far corner of the room. Bobby used his ice powers to give the room a winter look.
Xavier used his mind powers to place the decorations on the tree, putting a star at the top. With Bobby's help the room was ready for Christmas, and he also had some of the faculty work on snacks for the table as well. He had to admit he began to have a little of the holiday spirit the more he participated in it. He talked to a few of the students who were more then happy to offer some music for the party which now played over the speakers from the control room. Xavier now was outside of the room, ready to greet the students as they began entering the party.

Ororo never tried sneaking up on Xavier. It never worked. It was like trying to pounce on someone in a room coated with mirrors. She hadn't ever really been one for Christmas. She only celebrated the holiday a handful of times, shy of giving gifts to those close to her, and those handful of times she hardly remembered. Her parents had been the ones she celebrated with. Now, she didn't put much effort into the holiday, or any holiday at that. The only reason she had even 'dressed up' for Halloween was because she had something easy to throw on and occasionally it was nice to not be oneself.
"I'll be honest, I don't see the point." she annouced, leaning against the wall and folding her arms across her belly. "You'll be taking them down again in about three weeks anyway."
Ororo was also fully aware of the cold air replacing the Autumn landscape. It wasn't that the temperature bothered her, for hardly any temperature could, it was that with so much snow for so long you saw nothing but white for months on end. Ro missed the colors ever season and was always elated at their return.

"Storm, you must understand the views of the children once in a while."
He said looking behind him to Storm before turning fully in his chair and facing her. He kept his calm demeanor and gentle smile, but it didn't take a telepath to see into his eyes what he was really doing this for.
"These are dangerous times, more so then when Eric still had his powers. Chances like these, where the students of the school can enjoy themselves and not worry about the danger is more priceless now then one would've ever hoped."
He had to smile at himself, realizing he had used the same line Tim had given him about the Halloween Party. The debate had lasted a good fifteen minutes, and even though Xavier continued to press the issue, Tim wouldn't let up. It was only until he brought up the students and children in the school did Xavier understand why Tim wanted it so bad. Xavier stared into the distance as he spoke.
"Sometimes even I need to realize what really matters and what this fight truely is about." he looked up at Storm, "One day, Storm, I trust you will understand to."

She exhaled a sigh and rolled her eyes. "I understand you're doing it, I just don't understand why it's always such a big deal every single year. Maybe I didn't have enough of a childhood to understand the whole Christmas thing, but I don't think I ever will."
It was true, Ororo had been deprived a childhood. She had been sleeping on the streets picking pockets since she was five. However, this may have added to why she seemed so much more mature than her age normally would have permitted. She had to grow up early and fast. Now she was content with the fact, but it had made growing up hard.
At least there was the food to look forward to, not that there wasn't always food. The only reason she was even here rather than doing paperwork was because of the age group of the party-goers. It was very likely that someone would do something stupid, but if they didn't, that would only make her job easier. However, in Xavier's School For Gifted Youngesters, she was fully aware of the fact that no single thing could be easy.

"Well then, I'm sure that some of these students may rub off on you to help get some childhood fun out of you."
He smiled a bit and turned his chair back towards the other end of the hall, smiling as he began seeing the students and mutants of all ages coming towards them. Some hugged him while others shook his hand or said hello, some even went over to Storm and did the same. Christmas seemed to bring out the best in others, and Charles couldn't help but hope that it would bring out the best in Storm.
"By the way, where is your companion? Surely he wouldn't want to miss out on another party."
Charles smile, knowing that she would understand who he was talking about. It wasn't a secret that her and Logan had become a pair, not that it really was at least where he was concerned. He was sure they both had used intimidation and possibly a little fear to keep the secret from others. It wouldn't last long though, that he was sure of. Sooner or later the secret would be out, and he was sure that nobody would think the less of the two of them.
