If anyone were to spot Maron now, they'd most definitely go into shock. Whether it was good or bad would depend on the person. Conner would probably freak...
Today, Maron was curled up on one of the couches, a book in her lap and a pair of reading glasses on as she read. She wasn't sure if her having to use reading glasses now was because of her power or not, but it wasn't a secret that her eyes were slowly beginning to worsen. If only that was the only change. The girl had chopped off most of her pretty blond hair and dyed it a bright, fire red. So it would be no shock if someone had to do a double take before realizing who this was.
She paused when she heard the door open, wondering who it could possibly be since most everyone was out today. Wicked was on a short vacation, Conner and Nelly were who knew where, probably at that cave of his... Coco had just vanished, and Xenthron was stuck in his room until the sun set. So... who was it? She dared not look up to see, since her reading glasses weren't tinted to stop her stone turning gaze.

*Conner hadn't been home lots recently. Nelly had him running around everywhere as they were preparing for their wedding. He walked into the living room first not noticeing Maron but after three times passing her he stoped and looked at her.* Maron.....Why did you die your hair? *He was sure that it was some form of fase but felt that it was right to ask.*

"Because I could." Maron didn't look up, recognizing Conner's voice instantly. She did her best to hide her surprise, slightly ignoring him once again. Most definitely a phase. A very, very rebellious phase. "And because no one stopped me." She turned the page of her book, pushing her reading glasses up a little. She almost smirked to herself. "Why did you take three passes to finally recognize me?" The way she spoke was almost accusing, as if questioning if he really knew her.

"Whatever." Definitely a rebellious phase. The old Maron wouldn't have even dreamed of talking to Conner like that. Why she was going through the phase was a mystery to everyone but her. Why should she care about the world and those in it if they didn't care about her? She'd quite literally had to raise herself! No one had ever been there for her.
Well, other then Conner. Sort of Conner. Ever since he got engaged he stopped spending time with her. Left her to her own devices. He hadn't been there when they found out her eyesight was deteriorating slowly. He hadn't been there when they'd taken the risk of taking her into town to get glasses. He hadn't been there for anything the past year! Heck, she could count how many times she'd seen him in the past year on one hand. He didn't care, so she wouldn't...

"Haven't been around a lot is an understatement." She paused, snapping her book shut with a loud 'thunk'. "You haven't been around at all." Closing her eyes she carefully pulled her reading glasses off, setting them on the cover of her book. "Wait. No. Let's see.. this makes the... third time you've actually stepped inside this building in over a year?"
Maron sighed, ruffling her short hair with one of her hands. "Oh, I understand perfectly. Wedding details come first. Wedding details to a wedding that hasn't even been set. I didn't think there were that many details when you don't even know when it is. But who am I to talk? It's not like anyone would tell me."

*Conner sighed heavily. He wished that he and Maron were still close, but now he wasn't sure if that would ever be the case again.* Were thinking about soon. *He knew that that was not as descriptive, but they were close to getting done with some stuff.*

"Congratulations then." Like she expected to go to the wedding. Several of the others had already made it quite clear that she wasn't to go to any social events. Ever. Maron sighed softly, shifting positions a little to stare up at the ceiling. It wasn't just Conner she'd drawn back from. It was everyone. She didn't talk to anyone unless she had to. She didn't even come out of her room other then for necessary needs.
Slowly she blinked, watching the ceiling. "You might want to know though, that those four calls from me, and several calls from Wicked you missed weren't all that important. Just that they guess I'm going to be blind before I'm even 30. It might have been nice though if you had picked up." She paused, turning onto her side, face towards the back of the couch and back towards him. "It might have been nice if you hadn't completely forgotten about me when you started dating Nelly to begin with." Ah. And there it was. The reason she seemed so angry and cold towards him. "It might have been nice if someone had been there."
