Logan sat on the couch, flipping through channels until he found what he was looking for. He smirked as he opened a bottle of soda he had sitting in the fridge. He was getting use to drinking soda more then beer since he's been living in the school. He kicked back in the couch and placed his feet on the table, listening to the movie that was on TV. It was getting to his favorite part, until the screen began to change.
"Iron Man will return in a moment, but now a breaking report." The newscaster announced.
"Great, it was getting to the fight scene to." Logan said with a groan, but his eyes focused on the television when a scene showing giant robot destroying, or finishing destroying, a town.
"Tokyo was destroyed today after a sudden and vicious assault by giant robots. We now take you to our news copter that's now on the scene."
Logan leaned forward as he turned the volume up so he could listen to the report more, absently setting the soda bottle on the table and his feet on the floor. The camera seemed to catch more then the news, it also triggered something in his memory.
"Yes it appears that Tokyo is almost nothing with the giant robots making their way through the streets." The man reported, Buildings and houses are reduced to nothing in their path. Wait, it seems one of them has spotted us, it seems to be taking flight. It's coming...MOVE THE CHOPPER, IT'S CO-"
Logan's hands began to tremble slightly as they gripped tightly to his knees, his breathing heavy as if something had upset him. The newscaster finished up the broadcast with a solemn farewell to co-worker. The movie came back on in time for him to see the end, but at that moment he didn't care. All that was going through his mind were questions. Where did these things come from? Why are they here? Why does he remember them?

Kaia was walking past as the living room when she heard the announcement of the news break. She furrowed her brow in confusion, for there hadn’t been a news break in ages. She wheeled around and stood in the doorway, staring at the television over Logan’s head, very relieved when he decided to turn up the volume.
At first, she didn’t believe it when the anchor announced the headline, but with the video of the sentinels on the screen, she began to feel a surge of anger, sorrow, and guilt. When the sentinels had died down for a while, everyone had assumed they would be done with this massive mechanical monsters, but it was plain to see that they were wrong.
After 911, Kaia never trusted the news to have time to hide some of the most gruesome images in the world. When the newscaster started to scream, she clamped her hands over her ears, shut her eyes and turned around.
When the report finished, Kaia turned back around and bit her lip. She glanced at Logan, then back to the television before she entered the room and dropped her bag on the ground behind the couch. “I want to join Paragon. I can do the work, and I refuse to sit idly by while the world gets destroyed so that I can be nothing more than a spectator. If the world is going to hell, I want to help stop it from getting to the gate…even though from the looks of it it’s already there.”
Kaia knew it wasn’t smart to approach Logan while he was angry, but she didn’t care. Now, she was angry as well. And she knew that the only way she could make the pronounced feeling of guilt leave her was if she were to do something about it. Besides, she had a feeling that the new effect of her ability that she had just discovered would prove to be very helpful.

Today had not been a good day. Storm rushed through the mansion, looking for anyone, besides the array of students. It was then that she passed the living room where a student, Kaia, the poisonous girl, was informing Logan about how she wanted to join Paragon because of the Sentinel attack in Tokyo.
“Kaia, I’ll see to it that you’re put into Paragon by the end of the week, now go downstairs and get measured for a uniform. I need to talk to Logan.”
Kaia wasn’t happy about it, but she obeyed Storm’s orders. She knew very well that it wasn’t smart to get her angry either, and it seemed that Ororo Munroe was half way there.
Once Kaia had gone, Storm bent over the couch, took the remote and switched the television. “I just finished making sure all of our students are here and we have four missing. Tokra Genji,Jubilation Lee, Alice Holmes, and Ayden Xavier. I don’t think Mystique took Jubilee though because some of her friends said they saw her a few hours ago going into the woods to think about things. Either way, we still have four students missing. We have to find them.”

Surprising Logan wasn't the best idea anybody could ever have. The last person who did that got three claws in her shoulder. When the bag dropped on the ground, he jumped from the couch, turned and extended his claws, ready for an attack. When he saw Kaia, he retracted his claws and sighed.
"You shouldn't sneak up on me Kaia, it never ends well."
When she talked about joining paragon, he was a little concerned. But Storm came in and immediately changed the opinion, sending Kaia down to get ready. He looked to her as she explained that there were four missing. When she said Jubilee went into the woods, he nodded.
"I'll go look for her."

She nodded, knowing that his reaction to Jubilee's disappearence was only ordinary. After all, though Logan would probably never admit it, he had a tendency to grow close to the members of Paragon, especially if they were among the few who actually attended the danger room sessions and were determined to be a part of the team. "I'll inform the professor and have him search for the others."
Before he could leave the room to go into the woods, she caught him by the wrist, her hold not tight, but firm enough to send the messages that she didn't want him to go yet. "Be careful, Logan." were the last words she spoke to him before proceeding to see the professor. Her touching him had been the closest contact they had had since he found her in the buried box. She had to admit to herself that she missed it and , perhaps, wouldn't mind getting closer. However, that all seemed a distant idea.

He nodded when she did, starting to head for the door. He was almost out when Storm grabbed his wrist and looked to him. He had a feeling from her grip that she didn't want him to go yet, and when he turned to face her, her eyes caught his. When she told him to be careful, he reached up and gently touched the side of her face, smiling softly as he did.
"I will Ro, I'll bring them back...I promise."
When she let him go, he turned and watched her leave. He could tell that the feelings growing inside him for her were more than just for friendship, but he knew that there probably wouldn't be any way for them to go further. So keeping his mind back in focus, he headed out the door and into the woods. Things were getting bad...real bad.
